Evey giggled lightly as he batted at the turtle too, and then giggled even harder as the turtle continued to sit there without moving. She looked at thr turtle, wondering what it thought about all this attention.
She gave chuckle and a snort at Kamin's question. Did she have a dream guy? "Oohhh, I don't knoww." She said pawing at the ground. "I haven't really decided yet?" She posed that as a satement but it sounded much like a question. She wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do yet. "What about you?" She grinned slyly at him. "Who's yo' dream gal?" She batted at his snout playfully.

He smiled and nipped one of her wings gentley in response to her bat. Moving back a bit so as to dodge any more of her 'attacks', he considered the question for a few moments. He hadn't really been thinking what he was looking for when he moved here, he was just sure it would pop up in front of him. He realised now, however, that there were a few things he would prefer. "Well... I guess I want someone who's happy. I don't like those grumpy types." He scrunched up his nose a bit, squinting and shaking his head playfully. It was true, though. He rarely got along with Malu who brooded on the bad side to life all the time. "And someone I can talk to." Kamin wasn't a public speaker, and he felt that he had to really feel comfortable with a mate to talk to them freely. Smirking, he added, "Oh yeah, and drop dead gorgeous wouldn't hurt, either." At the last part he laughed and smiled, letting Evey know that he wasn't totally shallow. He was, of course, certain he had to be attracted to whomever he should choose for a mate, but he would never base something that serious completely on looks.

She giggled, "You could say that I'm looking for the same thing.." She nodded confidently and then tried batting at him again. Not noticing he was too far away though, she ended up losing her balance and falling forward. But she wasn't hurt at all, in fact she was laughing about it. Then she added, "If you make me fal over much more I might become one of those grumpy types." She wrinkled up her nose like he did, imitating him from earlier.

Kamin was quick to rise from his laid back position, and was at Evey's side quite quickly, considering he hadn't been very far to begin with. He nudged her gentley, looking over her for injuries. When he found none, he fell back on his haunches into a sitting position and smirked. "Well, we can't have that, now can we?" The fact that she could laugh at herself was truely saying something for her character. He smiled to himself as he watched her giggle, and then looked over to the bank for the turtle. "Look! That turtle finally went into his shell. You must've scared him when you fell." There was the turtle on the bank, firmly hiding in his shell. 'Bout time, Kamin thought. His gaze moved back to Evey, and he was ready to help her up if she should so chose to rise from the bank.

She continued laughing quietly as he spoke, and then she started laughing harder when she noticed the turtle had retracted into it's shell. She found it quite funny that the turtle would be afraid of her falling. She also found it quite nice that Kamin came over to make sure she was okay, even with her laughing uncontrollably.
Watching the turtle contently, her laughing bubbled off and she started to sit up. SHe didn't feel hurt at all, as it wasn't much of a fall, and she looked over herself quickly, finding no injuries to speak of. "Ah, the joys of short limbs..."

Kamin shifted his wieght, looking off towards the sun, which was growing ever higher into the sky. The sounds of several Malu moving about the pack could be heard just over the bubbling of the stream, but he blocked it out, preferring to stay by the water with Evey rather than fo see if his friends in the pack were up and alive once again. He grew quiet, suddenly loosing the joker feeling he had had before. He smirked a little at Evey's comment, and then made a move to lay down, staring hard at the turtle. He wasn't sure why he had suddenly calmed so severley, but he chose to not bother trying to figure it out. Looking up at the female sitting beside him, he smiled. "Y'know, I really like turtles. They're kinda cool." It was completely off subject, but for some reason he found it neccesarry to say.

Evey yawned slightly, the earlier sleepiness that had run away at the sight of Kamin returning for a second helping. "Yes, turtles are nice." No doubt, she believed, he had spent much of his younger life with them. She had heard stories of sea turtles and snapping turtles that were off close to the shores. And some larger turtles that lived inland, on the path the linked the shore and the temple.
"I find they're strange creatures." She added, "they have shells and such soft bodies. You'd think they would have developped a harder body, like an armadillo, instead." She trailed off a little, yawning again.

Kamin joined her in yawning, his jaws opening wide and uttering a sound almost close to a growl. He was growing tired now, having not had much of a sleep at the Temple. What little hours he got in slumber were against a cold stone floor, and were not exactly sound. He had stirred several times, never reaching the lowest levels of sleep. Now that Evey was yawning, obviously trying to fight of her own fatigue, they were jumping to him, as yawns are oh so contagious. "Yeah. They're kinda odd, but I love them. I used to follow the sea turtles at the beach. They didn't care for me much, but I loved 'em."
Kamin blinked sleepily, staring at the still retreated turtle. Perhaps the little reptile was also tired, and was fast asleep inside his safe house. Sometimes, the Malu wished he had a shell to hide in when he didn't feel like dealing with the world. Perhaps it was a silly wish, but hey, a guy can dream, can't he? Catching another yawn from Evey, he gave a week smile. "You wanna take a nap?"

Evey gave a little shiver as a cold win blew across form the desert. Still being early, the sun hadn't warmed the air enough. She looked over at the pack, seeing many more moving bodies, including those of her friends. She could see Karma already on her journey toward the temple, like every fateful morning. And her other family were sitting in a circle around the unlit firepit, chattering with some acquaintances.
"Yeah, a nap'd be nice..." She yawned again, giving Kamin a sleep-filled smile. His eyes seemed to dropp also. Sleeping in the temple obviously was not something one should do if they're looking for beauty rest. "But it's okay.. I mean.. I can stay awake longer..." SHe yawed again, shutting her eyes and placing her maw on the ground by both her own and kamin's feet.

Kamin smiled lightly, watching Evey come down to his level and lay her head down. 'Oh sure,' he thought with a smirk, 'you can stay awake for a /real/ long time.' He didn't voice it, though, for it would be all to hypocritical. He was also drifting into a day dream, his eyes blinking wearily. As soon as the idea of sleep had been planted into his mind with her yawning, he had realized just how tired he was. With out much more thought, the male rested his head on his paws, and let his eyes droop closed.
The turtle, finally re-emerging from his shell, looked behind him at the two near slumber figures. Satisfied with the morning's sun bath, he waddled off the bank and into the water, off to find himself some breakfast.

Feeling Kamin's breathing on her face, Evey openned an eye and looked at him. His grey pelt took on a nice shine in the morning glow now, and she then watched as the pack moved about. She looked back at Kamin once again, a cold breeze blowing over from the desert, and smiled at him as she shut her eyes and feel back into the sleep she missed.
