She squeezed him tighter, not noticing the tears that wet the back of Keme's jacket. "What about you, Keme? You'd better not give up on yourself! I won't let you!"
Her fingers clenched reflexively against his chest & Relm shivered though she did not think she could possibly be cold. Perhaps it was from trying not to cry. "And don't you go telling me bout any guy & time & seeing what's there when the same could easily be turned on you... only you've ogt to meet people to even start that chance! I at least tried by going to that party, and managed to have fun too!"
She sniffled, wiping her nose on her cloak because she refused to let him go so she could pull out her handkerchief. "It breaks my heart to think of you all alone out here, Keme. I wish there was something more I could do..."

Keme sniffled a little bit as he stared down at the ground. He took Relms word to heart, but it was so hard for him. He wasn't very social by nature now, tending to go off on his own. "You being here helps alot Relm....I don't feel so alone when you're around. That's why I'm so thankful your my friend." he says, avoiding her question about him altogether. Truth was, he gave up a long time ago and decided he would rather spend his days on his own, where the loneliness wasn't so oppressing, then be around others, because then the loneliness would probably crush him and he couldn't handle it. His tail sways a little before reaching up and wrapping around her loosely, as if hugging her back.

Relm snuggled into his back once she got over the shock of being hugged by a tail. Some parts of her mind were still too human. She giggled a little, a sound that came out odd thanks to her tears. "That's 'cause you're not alone when I'm here, Hummer."
Then serious again. "I'm thankful you're my friend too, Keme. My family's great but they're just not you." She buried her face in his back, her tail coming around to wrap around his leg. Relm sighed. "I do wish I we were able to see each other more. Pictures just aren't enough, no matter how much magic I give them. They're never you."
She was just talking again, able to let her mouth spew her thoughts without thinking of ulterior motives or how she looked. This was Keme... there was no need for pretense with her friend.

Of course Keme never thought there was anything behind her words because he never let himself think beyond what they could actually mean, because anyone else might have thought there was something else behind it. But it warmed his heart to hear her words, the ever present feeling over loneliness that always seemed to crush at his heart lifted somewhat. He might never find love, but he was glad he had Relm with him. "I still have the picture you made for me. One of my few precious things..." he whispers, a small smile going on his face.

She shivered happily against Keme, feeling suddenly warm & very pleased. His words thrilled her as nothing else had for .... well, quite some time. "I'm glad. Sometime maybe you'd like to come & see the large version I've got next to my bed."

Keme couldn't stop the blush that came on his face over those words, but he quickly shots thoughts away, laughing a little bit at himself. "Yea, that would be nice. I've always wondered what your studio looks like though, it's probably filled with more paintings and drawings then I can imagine!" he says, patting her hands on his chest. The lonely feeling is all but gone now, replaced with a warm feeling in his chest that he can't explain but really doesn't want to.

"Yes, it's pretty full. It seems no matter how many I give way there's always more. Thankfully, I can just open up a storage room instead of my studio & store away those I don't want to see or I'm not working on." She sighed happily, liking the feel of Keme's hands on hers. It made her feel small, but small in a good way.
"You just say the word & I'll take you home with me. Or I can paint map for you & you can follow that to come at your leisure."

Keme smiles at that and he has the urge to turn around and look at her, "Maybe you can draw me a map, I don't know how anyone in your family would react to you bringing a stranger home all of a sudden." he says. He grips her hands and takes them off his chest so she can let him go, but he turns so he wrap his arms around her and hug close, "Thank you Relm. You being here....helps alot..." he whispers, closing his eyes.

She gives an automatic mew of protest as he moves her hands but instantly forgets all about it as she finds herself wrapped in Keme's embrace. Relm presses her cheek against his chest. "You'd only be a stranger at first." Her fingers grip ever so lightly at his jacket, and she briefly wonders why it is that she feels so wonderfully at peace.
"Besides, most of them know of you so you're not a complete stranger." And since their were plenty of painting of the hummingbird audio in both her studio & storage the family could spot him by sight, though his clothes might slow their recognition slightly. "Trelweny's always saying we should have friends over & seems sad that so few come by."

Keme sighed a little, wanting to take her up on her offer, but still a little unsure. Besides, when the snows finally came to the lands, he knew he would have to seek shelter indoors so he wouldn't get sick. He knew he wouldn't hear the end of it from anyone, especially Relm, if he didn't take care of himself. He chuckles a little at a thought, deciding to share it, "I know Naruto is always anxious to go to your place, but is too scared to face the males of your home!"

The rumble of his chuckle against her cheek made Relm smile. When Keme "told" on Naruto the artist had to laugh outright. "From what Rikku tells her Naruto's faster than any of the males in our family, though I wouldn't want to test Aiden with his steel." An interesting thought caused her light green eyes to sparkle. "I'd like to see Aiden spar with Cyan if it were possible. Cyan was the greatest swordsman in our world, but Aiden has a dancer's grace to him that makes his swordplay unique."
Relm sighed happily, still smiling about Naruto being afraid of the boys. "And I suppose that the wizards aren't ones to be crossed, but Ginny's more of a temper than the boys & surprisingly battle ready too."
"No... I'd be scared of Myranda, Trel's GaiaCom. She can hex, & doesn't feel remorse for it." She smiled snuggling closer. "But she saves that for unwanted thieves & those trying to sneak in."
Relm did not realize she was not using her nicknames at all for her friend's benefit. She reclosed her eyes. "You should come over & prove to him it's safe. Wouldn't that be funny?"

Keme chuckled at the thought of Naruto trying to run away from the males of Rikku's family. But he also knew that if anyone from there messed with Naruto, they would have a big army of pets waiting to retaliate, Moochi's evolved Talaye Reign leading the charge to avenge her second Naruto. "Hehe, yea, maybe I should! But then I would never hear the end of it that I went home with you and didn't go to my own home...." he says.

"Hmmm... that would be a problem." The way Relm was smiling it did not seem that she thought it much of a problem. Not since she was trying to find someone for Aiden had she felt so purely happy. "How bout you come see my studio, then I'll go with you so I can see Naruto's face when you tell him he's nothing to fear? I wouldn't want to miss that for anything!"
She giggled, thinking about it. Her family was protective, but only if they thought someone was hurt. Relm knew Naruto would never hurt her sister so he was safe. "And if you don't want to walk all that way, I'm sure Timex will give us a ride between."

Keme got the look of really thinking about it. It would be nice to get out of the cold for a while and he couldn't wait to see the look on Naruto's face when he told him that bit of news. Smiling, he looked down at Relm and nodded, "Sure, that sounds like fun!" Realizing he still had his arms around her and not wanting her to get the wrong ideas about him, he quickly releases her from his embrace, a little sad she was gone because she felt so warm....
Shaking his head a bit, he smiles and goes to put up his possessions, making sure his book is someplace where nothing can get to it and he won't lose it. Once he makes sure everything is secure, he turns back to Relm and smiles, "Alright, lead the way!"

"Terrific!" The chill air moving across areas that had recently been so warm makes Relm blink in surprise. It was a new sensation for her and she was not quite sure what to think about it. She shook her head lightly to clear it, light brown curls bouncing. Relm waited with excited patience as Keme gathered his things. Which considering they were all he had was not much.
Her face lights up to see him smile. "Come on. It's just to the East of Bass'ken Lake. At least for now. Trel said if Barton keeps growing like it is she may see if Myranda can conjure the entire place elsewhere. Right now, with the woods all around it's quite nice."
She's tempted to take his hand -just to make sure he does not get lost- and smiles almost sheepishly. "Would you like me to carry anything for you?" Relm throws her arms out in a silly gesture. "I've got room."
