It would be pointless to say that a flush formed upon his cheeks, for that would be obvious. He'd outright been mocked and with a laugh he enjoyd it. Perhaps he was too upright, but the well-bred boy found no reason not to be. To gain something you had to work for it. Sure, he would take forever adapting thoroughly to this new world and he'd probably come to despise it and the people it contained in due time, but if they left him to his concotions he saw no reason to maintain that sickening composure forevermore.
Satisfaction in two days. The ability to have your heart's desire in a matter of wistful thinking and actions that take place simultaneously. The world seemed to clatter beneath him as he sought the implications of such words. It didn't feel likely anything like that was possible, but there was magic about and no doubt it could clean the world of such disputation. Brooding on a moment more he had to lend time to think of the current situation.
The boy he'd come here with, one of the only other new boys he'd had a chance to meet, was obviously a ruffian from some sort of ...slum... in some other country much less taken care of then the strict home he'd come from. Cushy could not describe his life, for such precious things may not be described in one word and one word alone. It was spectacularly rich, entertaining and educational. He learned many a thing and many a trick and read many a novel. He always felt he was intelligent but never cocky or coy. Now however, he was trying to adapt and failing miserably and it was all he could do to maintain the facade of happy nobility for that was his truest face and truest form. It was not the quintessence of his soul, but it would have to do. For now.

As the two boys sat quietly inside the hut, Shija stood outside of it, hands on her forhead, looking for, or trying to hear, the shadow of Marie or the sound of motor-engine. Her eyes were squinted, as the sunlight, although not so warm in the late autumn weather, was still bright enough to give her blind spots. The young woman's body bent forward, supporting the unblanace with one leg out to the front. Suddenly she straightened up and released her eyes from excessive squinting. She now stood with her neck stretched out as if she was trying to look at someting. Her eyes full of eager, and her face full of relivement.
"Marie!"
The young woman lept forward as soon as a slight shape of a woman appeared far off the road. Shija ran up to the figure with excitement. "Marie, the two newlings have arrived."
The woman, physically taller and stronger than Shija, nodded and grinned. Her shoulder-length, dark hair fluttered against her tanned skin that was exposed under her short vest and shorts. "I see. Sorry I'm late...got caught up with those crazy people again."
Shija chuckled at Marie's words, "ah yes. Was Norman complaining about his short supply of chocolate chips again?"
"No, not this time, thank goodness. Although there seemed to be some disputes in Master Dante's department again, oh and...Sir Herei was asking when the new batch of fabrics will arrive?"
Shija shook her head, "same old, same old. I don't think it'll be any time soon. But anyways. The two boys are waiting. Shall we?"
Marie laughed. Her voice loud and deep for a girl. She gestured at Shija so she could take the lead. Shija complied, smiling as the two walked back to the hut. Before the two reached the door, Shija called out as loud as she could.
"Hey guys! Come on out!"

Tycho had actually shifted his chair to a position where he could hear what was happening outside, so when Shija called out, he picked it up right away. Of course, he didn't immediately move for the door. He threw a long look at Nathaniel.
"After you, Nathaniel." he said simply, gesturing to the door, face inscrutable. He sure as heck wasn't putting his back to anyone, even if that person was 'soft'. Tycho made no move to get up, but simply regarded the privileged boy with a steady eye. Who knew, perhaps this kid would think Tycho was being polite. Probably not. Nathaniel might be soft, but to get to this school, you had to have some kind of intellect.

This took Nathaniel quite off guard, for he'd been so hidden in his thoughts he jumped ever-so-slightly when he heard his name and was called to do something. It took him a moment to realize he was already standing and already ready to obey. Natural obedience was a part of his blood and if it wasn't, then the punishment to follow most certainly was. The world was a cold cruel place when one had strict parents who never let even the tiniest mistake slip by.
Often times though he regretted not ever giving his parents a reason to yell. Unlike others he'd never gotten the hang of being a rebel or not being the goody-two-shoes. He was always the quiet and proper one who did what he was told, when he was told and was about to do it as he was being told he needed to. Not anymore though. He let that demeanor slid off as he relaxed into a more comfortable standing position.
He would continue to be the epitome of nobility but he would not be so high strung anymore. There was no longer a reason to be, and beneath his smiles he knew that revenge was his sole desire and he didn't care if his anger swept him up someday. He didn't care if all of his teachings died with his smiles... as long as he had the perfect biological weapon of warfare. It helped to know if it was soluble in food too, hence his love for both cooking and biology.
Now, the current situation at hand. It looked like he was going somewhere, so without another glance at the boy he dashed outside at a proper pace and stood before the two woman. He appeared confused but then smiled grandly and with a flourish he bowed very slightly to the other. Silent as the grave though. There was no need to speak so again he did not waste breath on such trivial things.

Marie and Shija waited patiently as the two boys dashed out one after another. Marie tossed Shija a understanding smile, and inspected the two boys with obvisous inspecting glance. The young woman didn't bother to hide her curiousity, after all, there was no need to. She had attempted to mask her wonders at the students, and thought she had done fairly well until one of the more blunt student pointed out that her glance had made him uncomfortable. Marie never bothered to hide her glance afterthat. It saves the student's trouble to ask her what she was looking at. Her glance showed her curiousity...a most sincere one, for she always wondered at how these kids felt upon entering some place so isolated. It reminded her of something like the concentration camp that her grandmother told her...but that was long, long, long time ago, and she didn't really catch the violent details of it either. She was sure that the school aimed to make the student a lot happier, but she couldn't help but to think how happy can these student be when they were stranded on some island, and the only purpose here was to become a weapon to someday save humanity...perhaps sacrificing their own lives in between.
After her inspecting glance, Marie grinned at the two boys. "How are you guys doing so far?" She asked, her voice loud and confident. "I'm Marie. I'm sure Shija told you about me. I'll be responsible for driving you guys up to the campus." The young woman lend out a hand to the boy in the front, inviting him to shake hands with her.

Nathaniel left her obviously rhetorical question unanswered and smiled politely at Marie. He seemed to find no reason to disagree with her words nor reply with stupid nonsensical things and so as she outheld her hand as a friendly gesture he shook it. It was a slightly loose but firm grip that seemed almost as fluid as it did rigid. Being as oddly messed up as the young British boy was, it was not something unlike him.
He stood a moment more and then let go and stepped back so she could say hello to Tycho. For some reason a part of him doubted her confidence and wondered if the other boy would be polite. Maybe the other boy put on masks in front of adults... or maybe he just liked switching back and forth. It was definately odd but Nat was curious and knowing how things worked (people included) was his speciality.

Marie felt the boy's grip on her hand. Hmmm...this boy is quite educated. In his shaking she felt something about the boy that made her to reach a conclusion that this boy was not one to be taken less seriously. He must also be a quiet one (for he did not bother to give his name), or, as much as Marie disliked the thought, he does not seem to be very comfortable to be on this island. Of course, Marie was not the person to tell the students how many good things (or bad, according to the boys' perspective) the school experience might bring in the future. After all, neither she or Shija was really part of the school. They know less than the janitors in the upper campus, not to mention that the said janitors don't give a damn about what the students care about.
Giving Nathaniel a slight nod, Marie did not bother to ask for the boy's name. If he did not wish to tell her his name, he did not have to. If, under any circumstances later on, she happens to be in a long conversation with the boy, then she could probably care about their name...only probably. Instead, Marie smiled brightly at the boy, and shifted her attention to the other, tanner lad behind Nathaniel. Reaching out her hand to the other boy, Marie invited the other to shake hands...just like she did with Nathaniel, ignoring the suspicious glance cast upon her.

Waiting patiently, Nathaniel wondered what would be in store for them now. Whatever it was he wanted to get it over with. The entire thing was overwhelming and confused him but he gave no signs of it. His mind was already calculating the fascinating things that could occur on this island and the thing he could to enhance that fascination. It wasn't that he didn't mean to give Marie his name, it was just that he wasn't really thinking about 'now' now. His mind was in the future now.

Something about the way the woman, Marie, shook Nathaniel's hand put Tycho on guard. She seemed to be getting more out of it than a formality. Was she really there just to drive them up to the school? Was this some kind of test? Tycho's defenses went up, and he stared at the offered hand for a second before stepping forward and shaking it briefly. He intentionally used a weaker grasp than usual, though his movements were unintentionally rigid due to his mistrust of the situation.
He immediately stepped back to the spot behind Nathaniel, schooled his face into something that resembled neutrality, and watched Marie to see what her reaction would be.

Marie laughed as the tanned skined boy took her hand with extra caution. She thought the boy was suspicious of her, but she didn't expect him to be THIS suspicious. It reminded her of that story between the mouse and the lion (if there was ever such a story). Ahhh...poor boy. He's scared as hell.
Taking a step forward, Marie bent down and leaned to the two boys, hands on her buttocks.
"Relax, I'm only a driver. You two look like scared kitties." She teased the two, and released a crisp laughter from her throat, as if she had been supressing it for a long time. Not waiting for the two boys to react, she stood up again and turned, sending Shija a confident nod. The other girl nodded back, smiling more gently at the two boys.
"Good luck!" Shija said cheerfully. Turning, she waved to the two boys, and walked back to the hut.
Marie, after waiting for Shija to make her exit, stretched her arms in the air a bit, before turning again to the boys. She gave them a wink.
"No time to loose now...follow me."
With that she turned and walked toward the depth of the nearby forest...supposedly where her "car" would be.

Needless to say Nathaniel was slightly insulted by her comment but he held himself in check neatly and followed Marie. Tycho's actions were odd though and the suspiciousness of the other made him laugh slightly. If she was going to do anything to them, she'd have done it. And if this was a test, well getting all tense would do them no good. Besides, they were trapped on this island and if you didn't trust the staff then you might as well commit suicide and save yourself the stress. This did not imply that Nathaniel trusted anyone however. His smiling noble face gave the appearance of loyalty, but it was only to himself really. Total trust was for fools. He'd found that out the hard way oh-so-long ago.

Scared kitties?! The comment rankled, and Tycho felt an angry flush form on his face in spite of himself.
"Pfffft." he replied, crossing his arms in front of his chest, and giving Marie's back an exasperated look as she nodded to Shija. The latter wished them good luck, and Tycho gave her a small wave, and an even smaller smile.
As he followed Nathaniel following Marie, Tycho tried to figure out what type of trees grew on the island. Some were recognizable, Poplar, Evergreens, Oak, and Maple. But there were a few trees that looked, well, odd. They were either too squat with broad, thick leaves, or too thin with leaves that looked like Weeping Willow leaves. Perhaps this was due to the practice of magic. With a little slight of hand, Tycho neatly whisked a few leaves from the branches of the odd trees as he passed. He'd take a closer look at the leaves later.
He looked up to make sure that both Nathaniel were in sight, and wondered what kind of vehicle they'd be taking. A hummer, maybe? There'd been plenty of the boxy vehicles in New Haven, since they were ideal for the rough terrain of the surrounding countryside. Then again, maybe they'd have some kind of magic handy for transportation. Broomsticks, or a giant pumpkin? Neither sounded feasible, but the prospect that he might be able to see magic unconsciously quickened Tycho's footsteps so that he drew abreast with Nathaniel, though habit made sure that he was out of leaping distance of the clockwork boy.
"Hey." he called to Marie, who was several yards ahead. "You said you're a driver, right? What do you drive?"

Marie stopped and turned briefly to Tycho and smiled. "You'll see."
The woman walked on without further words, leading the two boys a through a small forest. Turning a corner, the forest disappeared and revealed a vast landscape. The shimmering white tower surrounded by other smaller architectures could be seen in the far distance. In midest of the buildings were roadways intermixed and conjunctioned with one another. Shifting from far away to closer places, Marie pointed at the silver-colored vehicle with green plates not too far from her. The vehicle looked strange at first sight. The body itself was much smaller than common cars (yet spacious enough to fit four people inside), and was shaped like a motor-boat. Under the main body were three tires instead of four. "I guess you can call it a tricycle?" Marie chuckled gently. "This is my primary transportation. In the upper campus, you will have either this or bigger shuttles to go from places to places. You can also rent a vehicle like this one up there if you know how to drive...someone up there will teach you how."
Marie strolled over to the "car" and smoothly positioned herself in the driver's seat. She gestured the two boys to come closer. "Jump right in. I'll give you guys a tour of the campus."

In the only way Nathaniel could, he smiled politely at Marie and her car. ...Car... if you could even call it that. It was one of the oddest things the British youth had ever seen and he was very amused by it. It seemed that technology on this island was indeed far more advanced then normal. Something in his heart soared at that idea. It meant that all of their technology could allow him better usage to find out the things he so desired: A poison. What he wanted more then anything was a biological poison that could kill the entire alien race. They had stolen his world from him and they would pay.
However, these thoughts stayed safely tucked inside his head and his face didn't even twitch. Green eyes shimmered and his voice was set in a tone of grand respect and curiousity, "That would be lovely. This island must be filled with so many advanced things... I'm really quite curious to see it." With that said, he went up to the car, took a moment to figure out how to get in, and then did so. No problems!

Marie laughed. "Oh you guys will be amazed! Well, at least I was."
With that said, the woman watched as the two boys climbed into the vehicle. She nodded to the boys, and then to herself. Igniting the engine, the "car" made a soft rumbling sound. Marie didn't wait for the boys to really settle down before she stepped onto the gas paddle. The "car" was immediately pushed forward in a sudden and large momentum, pulling the two boys backwards and flat on the backseats.
The vehicle zoomed through the bare lands, and in a moment was within the school grounds. Underneath the "car" was no longer yellow soil, but silvery roads that seemed to shimmer under the sun. Everything looked brand new, dustless, shining. As the vehicle traveled, it seemed to slow down as the view got wider. Soon they were above the ground, as the road underneath them rose at a slant angle that seemed to send the "car" flying. Against the loud wind Marie talked loudly, almost yelling to get her words through.
"You see, I always feel like riding a rollercoaster whenever I'm on these roads, they are so much fun!"
"There are two main roads for the vehicles that are above the ground level. The rest are all for walking purposes. these two roads, one of them carry you directly to the headmaster's office and the other carries you directly to the auditorium. After you have registered, you can rent these cars from the chikami Mall under us, " Marie pointed at the series of buildings below her vehicle and the road, "it's currently in construction, but it'll open up soon. That's where you get all your daily stuff from. you know, foods, clothing, etc. But anyways, the cars, you can rent them, and if you are old enough they actually have coaches there to teach you how to ride this thing. So what I'm saying is...you really should get one of these babies, and go up to the headmaster's office. the view there is fantastic. I'm not lying, you can see every corner of the school there. It's a beautiful place I tell ya."
"See the large cirle ground on our left? That's the field for school of magic. Students tend to make things explode there far more than what they do in the school of S&T. Oh, yeah, on our right is the gym, that's where students train themselves physically. I mean if you want to be a soldier that place is going to be your home. And right next to that is the science building. It's a dangerous place, although not as dangerous as the magic field. Although they do have a special system for the school of magic, and the whole place is under this huge barrier. You can say those students all live in a bubble of some sorts. But anyways, yeah. The tallest building on both sides are dorms for upper level students. Once you are done studying all the basic stuff you can move away to live in these places. The magic dorm, I heard, is a creepy place. It's so dark, and suppsely everything's lit by magic. Isn't that so bizzare?"
"What is that second tower, you ask? Oh, that's the communication tower. We receive news from the outside world there. It's a pretty cool place if you ask me." Marie halted to a stop with her vehicle, and climbed off the "car". Hands on her waist, the woman scanned proudly around the scenary.
"An questions so far?"
