Aiden raised an eyebrow.
"You mean, actually, literally, squashed? How did that happen?" He glanced aruond, quickly, looking for an assisstant, somewhere. No one was there, however.
"That's strange...very strange. You should be sharing a caravan with someone. Who gave you your living quarters? You should probably speak with them again. Or someone much more reliable," He made a 'tshh' sound, and rolled his eyes. "Just tell them that I said that you need another arrangement. There should be enough room for you to bunk with someone else. We'll get that fixed as soon as possible."
He noticed her staring at the top of the tent. A slightly mischevious smile crossed his face.
"Don't tell anyone that I let you do this on one of your first days here, but you can go ahead and climb a bit, if you want. There's no net right now, though."

Lucrezia's face lit up even more. "Really? You're sure?" she asked, not quite believing it.
Well, she then reasoned with herself: he was the ringmaster, so of course he was probably sure. With a happy laugh she skipped off towards one of the ladders on the tent poles and scampered up it. There was something excedingly exciting about climbing up to the catwalks of a new tent (new to her, at least.)
Once on the rigging rails, she could see everything from a bird's eye view. There was the darkened folds of the ceiling, the glint of the stands, the crisp lines of the rigging grid and...
Docked to one of the platforms further down, she could see a trapeze.
Better not overstep her welcome, she decided.
And besides. There was no net right now. She didn't trust herself not to mess up in her giddiness.
She wrapped her fingers around the railing, trying to ignore the itching desire to fly. The trapeze was begging to be used, but common sense was putting up a very strong fight.
"And besides," she reminded herself, "He said you could climb. Not that you could actually mess around on the equipment."

"Having fun up there?" Aiden shouted, squinting to keep her in view. He thought about something for a second. He was in a good mood, and thusly feeling generous. But not too generous. He knew that he had to be somewhere soon, and he came up with a compromise.
"Hey, how about you come down here and practice a bit later?" He wanted to make sure that she knew she was welcome, but also that she had to go a little ways before she could perform. Aiden thought that he did a good job in letting that on.
"Just as long as you don't kill yourself, you know. That can't happen to one of our new recruits," He smiled at his joke (or was it?) and then began to pace back and forth. "I've got someplace to be right now, Miss Falco, I'm terribly sorry. Promise me that you will try and get your living conditions fixed, all right? And myself or someone else can show you all of the rigging when the time is right. Does that sound good? Well, it was lovely to meet you, Miss Falco. I hope that you enjoy your stay here." He decided to be polite, and wait for her response (or for her to get down, whichever happened first) before he left to take care of other business.

Lucrezia laughed and climbed back down the ladder. She understood the sentiment entirely, and figuring out her living arrangements really was an interesting problem.
"Thank you for the tour, sir," she called, giving the trapeze and the rigging a last wistful glance.
Oh well. Time to get started on the issue of a matress and a place to stick it. She bounded out of the tent into the now darkening twilight, noting to her great dismay that the stars could not be seen yet, possibly due to too much light pollution.
He was a rather nice ringmaster, she decided. Definitely one worth knowing.
