"Wonderful." She said as she started to travel off toward the forest and the pack. "I'm sure you will be quickly accepted. The pack is naturally curious as to the being of others and naturally helpful." She looked toward the sky, seeing the sun above their heads she knew that there would be enough to make it back before dark was upon them. It was reassuring to be travelling with another, and it made the trip much less lonesome. When one travels alone there is only the sound of your paws crushing leaves and squirrels chirping at you from their branches. Company on the relatively short journey was not hard to come by, and offered a great deal more fun while travelling.

Quickly falling in step beside her, Brayden glanced at her every few minutes as they traveled. "I hope they do. I would enjoy finding a new home." It had been his intention from the beginning, from the moment that he pondered the idea of leaving his family - to find a new place of belonging, to make a new home for himself. Traveling alone was often times slow and distressingly melancholy, he would be glad to know he made the trip a bit more entertaining.

Karma looked over at him as she trotted through the forest, hopping over fallen logs and smiling as she spoke. "Our pack welcomes people so easily. Do not fret over being accepted, Brayden."
She traveled between trees and rocks, streams and clearings. She knew the way without even thinking about it, like when one knows the way from their sleeping area to the meal they are long awaiting after a good night's sleep.
She traveled in partial silence for some distance, mapping the way in her mind, and only speaking to mark areas that Brayden should recognize on the way there if he'd liek to return.

Occasionally he had to dip his antlers to keep from being pulled back by branches, carefully hopping over fallen logs to keep up with her as his own smile broadened, "I'd like to say I won't fret, but I can promise only that I'll try my hardest." His expression changed when he was suddenly halted. He had been distracted and walked straight through a low hanging branch that was now caught up in his antlers, tangling bright leaves and tiny twigs throughout.
He blushed visibly as he ducked his head and tried to free himself. "Sorry to, uh, pause our journey, but I appear to be... stuck." He smiled, somewhat embarrassed as he pulled against the branches. Of all the times he did something foolish, it had to be when he was trying to make a good impression. Atleast it was before they met the pack, but he supposed that was the best he could make of it.

Karma giggled as she walked backward to help him. "And I'm supposed to help you? What if you were out here alone making this same journey?" She giggled as she placed her forpaws upon his back and stretched her neck to reach the branch that had become entangled in his antlers. "Do you plan on getting stuck here forever one of these days, having to wait for your knight in shining armor to come and set you free?" She managed to untangle the branch. "There we go." She brought her paws back to the ground and looked at him with a serious, yet a little pitiful, face, "Try not to get stuck anymore, okay?" She gave him a smile as she turned around to continue on the journey. "It's not much farther."
(( That was wicked bad... ;_; Sorreh... ))

"If I were alone, I wouldn't be so distracted." His blush deepened, but luckily she was soon busy untangling his antlers so that he could recover with some grace still intact. The weight of her on his back was nothing but a reassurance of her comfort with him, if anything. As she spoke, he laughed, both at himself and with her comment, "I would have to wait, indeed. I would sit and pray that by some chance yo- my knight in shining armor would happen by. Else I would wither way." He grinned at her when she was once more land bound. "I will do my best. You have my word." He nodded solemnly, though a hint of a smile still played at the corner of his lips. Falling into step beside her, he spoke softly, "Have you family in the pack?"

She giggled at his comments. "Not by blood." Karma quietly replied as she continued on, looking down at both their paws and noticing how his were much larger than her own. "My friends are as close to me now as any family was when I was younger. We all live together in harmony and that is all the family I need." She smiled at him, finally looking up from the ground beaten paws. "And you left your family behind, am I correct? Do you miss them much?"

He nodded slowly at her admission. A good many of the malu he had met so far had no or few blood relatives in the temple or the surrounding area. They were all gathered here, families or no. He watched her out of the corner of his eye as they walked, sure to keep an eye on the trail ahead of them so he wouldn't get stuck once more. Ducking his head at the appropriate moment, he smiled softly, "I've only had the time to miss them on the journey here, but since then I've been far to busy meeting new faces. I will make a new family here, and though I'll never forget those they raised me, I'll move on."

She nodded as he responded. She believed it must be hard to leave everything and everyone you knew behind and she felt a little sorry for him. Having to, essentially, start over in life. But it's all fate, after all. The good thing is that he's not missing them much now.
"Look! We can see through the trees!" She motioned with her muzzle toward the bright light that passed through the trees in front of them. It was still 30 or so paces before they'd reach those tree trunks, but it was much closer. There were bodies moving in the light, causing it to come in and out at different intervals. She smiled, remembering the comfort she felt around her pack mates.

It wasn't that he didn't miss him, but rather he saw the more obvious method of going on. He looked forward to starting a new family in memory of the one he had left behind. When Karma spoke, he looked up through the trees with a smile. His shoulders tensed slightly, anxious anticipating the meeting with the pack. Karma was still with him, and she appeared relaxed by the presence of the others, he could only assume it would be the same for him.

As they continued walking a bit farther, the members of the pack were slowly made to be less of silhouettes and more of actual malu. They were now only paces from the edge of the forest, and malu Karma knew were already edging toward them from where they were, hearing and seeing them arrive. Karma slapped a smile on, not a fake one, oh no, as she spoke again. "Well, we're here." As she said "here" she stepped through the edge of the forest, only hoping that Brayden was right behind her and not getting cold paws about making a new home for himself.

Brayden only hesitated for the briefest of moments beneath the shelter of the forest, his eyes widening slightly as he regarded the malu that awaited them in the clearing. A few had already noticed their arrival and were offering smiles and other such tidbits of attention as the two stepped into the opening between the trees. He swallowed, however, glancing at Karma as he muttered, "Yes, indeed we are." The male had no idea what to expect from the pack, but judging by the warm welcome he received and the new (but hopefully long lasting) relationship he'd formed with Karma, he hoped that his future within the pack would be a good one.
