pixiestixryu I liked the way the movie was done. With the whole trial taking place with the flashbacks happening at the same time. I'll give it props for that. It was a nifty set up, but the horror was sorta silly. The only part that was actually scary to me was when things kept happening in the apartment at 3 am or whatever they called the "witching hour". Like when the lady (I think it was the investigator, not Emily) heard someone in her apartment and went to check it out and there would be weird shadows and the door would suddenly slam. & then it happened a couple more times all at the same time of night. It was so eerie I could barely watch that part gonk & I haven't heard of the Philidelphia project either. Is it a ghost hunt?! o.o See my other post for details. ^^

ah, I posted too late again. sweatdrop It takes me a while to finish my posts when I'm supposed to look like I'm working in my class so yours wasn't there when I first clicked the respond to topic button!
I read the article, it sounds just like another conspiracy theory, especially if the only supposed witness was proven to be a fraud. It's a cool story, but I wouldn't exatcly call it a case of paranormal activity. Now that expirement at Duke University seemed pretty ligite though, how cool! Though it'll be awfully annoying if enemy planes can get past radar 10 years from now! >.>; Amazing, but scary

The experiment at Duke University? What was it?

Interesting story. Kind of eery though it doesn't bother me too much. And I agree that the Excorsism movie wasn't that scarey which was kind of dissapointing but it makes up for that lack with how much you learn and how interesting it is.

There was a link to a news article in the wikipedia link about how these guys at Duke deflected microwaves around an object and restored them on the other side. I didn't really understand their explination of how it works, but the fact that it's possible is pretty darn trippy.
I would have liked the exorcism of emily rose, but I think the ending was trying too hard to be inconclusive (I haven't watched it in a long time so bear with me as I try to remember what the heck I'm talking about! >.>; ) I guess since most of the things that happened to her could have been explained logically there wasn't any big question at the end that left me all wowed by the movie. I mean the only thing that would have creeped my out was her talking in tongues, but then you find out she speaks latin and it's like.... not all exciting anymore. =(
I guess it's interesting that a seemingly normal person could suddenly snap and/or be possesed, but I didn't really feel like I learned anything by that.

Ah, I see. I think I heard about that some where, but I don't remember. xD;;
I didn't really like The Exorcism of Emily Rose. For a movie that was supposed to be based on real events, it seemed so fake. >< I don't really think the movie freaked me out at all. It was quite a while ago when I saw it. Anyway, it really bored me. xP

Yes. I believe in spirits. Yes. My house is active. I don't like to use the word 'haunted' for some reason... but active works better for me. We live on an old farm plot... Our house isn't a farm, that's just what used to be there. The house was built right before we moved in, so we're the first to live there. While digging out, leveling, etc of our backyard we excavated strange items... I remember three distinctly. An old nasty, horseshoe *barely looked like one... we had to stare at it for a while* ... some sort of sheet of iron stick, and something that was metal that looked like it would hang on the stalls of a barn door, holding something in it. Anyways, there is this really old, really big tree in our backyard. We noticed that there was a chain tied to one of the thick branches, probably from an old tire swing, and there was frayed, decayed rope on a branch on the other side. Before we noticed this, however, I always felt like there was something in that tree, watching us. ((I have a mild sense for these things)) I was a little freaked out when we found the rope. I'm hoping no one was hanged from the tree. *I hate saying 'hanged... but that's the right term... ... hung sounds better, however...* I've never felt afraid of it, however. It's more like it's just unaware that it needs to leave... and just watches everything day after day. Also, my room and the hallway outside has a strange feeling to it. I've woken up and seen things, dark figures hovering over me, quick shadows darting across the wall... and my windows have thick goth curtains on them, and are sealed tightly because I hate the sun.... I've also seen my cat puff up and let out that spooky cat growl, while watching something that I couldn't see move slowly across the room and then crawl under my bed. I ended up taking him out of the room with me after that... But that was the same day things kept falling off my wall... my drawers were open one minute, then closed the next... stuff was being rearranged, and I just felt uneasy that day. FInally, my bed... I keep my door closed at night. Sometimes I let my cat sleep with me, but other nights he just wants to do his own thing. I've been laying in bed, many different nights, and suddenly feel something jump up onto my bed. I'll look up and think it's my cat... and see nothing is there. WTF? I realize he's not in my room tonight... And my bed has a habit of rocking while I'm lying perfectly still. We don't have earthquakes here... haven't had one for a LONG time. These things that happen, freak me out considerably. If someone walks up to me and says "You're crazy, it's in your head" I usually kick them in the shin and tell them to spend a week in my room/house while saying aloud 'I don't believe in spirits!!! Come at me if you're real!!!" I want to do an EVP but I'm scared to death. I never really feel hostility in my room...save for those occasions where my cat is uneasy and that happens only every now and then. Really rare... Anyways... My house is active and has SOMETHING (I don't know what, but something) going on in it.

That's... creepy... o.o Gosh, Jounouchi would FREAK in your house. XD;; You should do an EVP though; it could be interesting. Afterall, recording shouldn't change the lack of hostility of the spirits.

That's true, it's just EVP's are hard to listen to... and sometimes you can get the feelings of the spirit for a few seconds, and that can take a toll on you. I think I said it in the YYG, but I recently listened to a murder victims EVP and got washed over with some of the person's/spirit's emotions and just couldn't stay awake any longer. When Sakura comes over Thursday, she already said she'd help me check out some stuff online... *remember that guild I was talking about where the guy tricked us and stuffs??* We might do something then... She's a big believer as well.

Sure thing. I'm going to be searching my house for a tape recorder. I just realized I don't have one! XD But my mom should have one in one of her drawers... If I could find that... Oh and about Jounuchi freaking in my house... I think he'd be fine until he'd get to my room... Then he'd see Seto and start ranting more than likely. But if it were dark and we were the only ones in the house, I'd have fun telling him spooky stories and finishing it off with the tales of what has happened in my house. That would really freak him out.

I blew my friend off!!! She ended up having to come over Tuesday if we were going to hang out, but I had been invited to go over to a friends house on Monday night... and we were so tired from watching the second Death Note movie, and 8 episodes of Gakuen Heaven... and laughing our butts off at all the manga and stunts we pulled at the bookstore. (XD *enjoys reading graphic scenes outloud heart I promise, read these scenes outloud in the children's book section, and they WILL throw you out XD) So... I told her I was sick. *feels bad* I discovered I HATE lying to my friends!!! *cries* So it'll be like, next Tuesday or something if we do hang out. I'm getting ready to use a freaking ouji board AND do an EVP by myself... It's just making me curious...
Oh, and a final add-on to Jounuchi... I made a puppyshipping slideshow (with music and everything) and burned it to a DVD... so I'd play it on my TV... so not only would he be freaked out about the ghosts, he'd see this horrible puppyshipping slideshow and freak, then turn around to see seto and ... well, then I'd laugh. Afterwards I'd apologize and glomp him. XDD
