"s**t, I know what you mean...Most of the stuff I ever write has a great beginning...the start of a middle...and then...nothing," he says with a sigh...though secretly he's enjoying every second of this conversation. It's been so long since he's talked about this.

"What's the project about?"

"It's a play..." Sid hesitated to go on. With things in their earliest stages the idea suddenly sounded a little silly to him. "We- me and a friend- were thinking about starting up a threatre. Just as something to do."

"Seriously? Damn...now that'd be a great project to start," he says with genuine admiration. "Heh...I always wanted to do theatre in school...never worked up the courage to actually audition though...funny, I can easily serve in the military, but the idea of possibly making a fool out of myself on stage terrifies me," he says while chuckling.

"Who knows?" Sid scratched the base of his tail. It figured his pants would chafe. "It might work out... And there's other stuff to do besides acting. Behind the scenes work, you know?"

"Well s**t, count me in if you need the help," he says with a laugh, "I could always use the distraction and I hope you could use the help."

"Are y'all going to build the stage, or just use what we've got lying around?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 13, 2006 11:20 pm

"Build it most likely, I dunno... It's still early." He smiled as much as he was able. "Any help'd be appreciated."

"Well, I'll do as much as I can with what I've got," he says while holding up his hands. "I think I can still hold a hammer though," he says with a grin.

"Who else are you doing this with?"

"There's Billy... The octopus guy? Dunno if you've met him." Sid tried to stick his hands in his pockets only to discover that didn't work very well. He cleared his throat awkwardly and continued. "I don't know about the others, we just started with this and all..."

He tried to think of the other islanders he knew, and who among them might be interested in helping. As many duplexes as he passed by every day, there had to be enought to put on a production and have some left over to fill the audience. It could work.

"I've just heard about him...haven't had the chance to meet him yet though. But yeah, definately, I'm all for the idea. Be sure to keep me posted on it, I'm in duplex fifty-four if you ever need to get in touch with me."r

"Cool, cool," Sid nodded and made a mental note to start carrying the damn notepad around again. He was still too fuzzy headed to commit that to memory. As many times as he'd traded duplex numbers with people lately, he was bound to start getting the numbers wrong.

"I'm in 58-" he thumbed in the general direction of it. "And I'm always up around this hour so, you know..." Why was it always so hard to make that offer? It probably had a lot to do with how few real friends he'd had back before... just the one, come to think of it. He shook his head. His mind was wandering too damn much again.

"I think I'm gonna go walk for a bit more... try and get some ideas brewing for a play." Ideally.

Then he'd have no choice but to get to work as soon as the typewriter was fixed. Assuming it could be.

"Rock on...and around this time I'm usually watching movies in here."

"Alright, cool. Take care man." He nods to Sid before stretching out his fingers once more.

"You too, see ya." Sid waved to Tommy with his own grotesque hand and turned to walk off in the general direction of his duplex. By the time he doubled back he still had no great ideas. It was hard not to wonder about the typewriter... and everything else.

He'd figure something out. Surely.
