"A sudden attack on Audrey's part?" Richard mind shifted gears from the man's denial to what he knew about Moreau. Charlie had "dirt" on Moreau's relationship and the old reporter was suddenly all ears. "I have yet to make Dr. Lockhart aquietance, what were they like?" Richard took a step closer to Charlie, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.

Rather interested for information wasn't he? Now came the question of weather he should engage Richard's fancies or rather keep thing's to himself. Perhaps a combination? Oh you know...just to see how Richard took the news.
"Seeing as how the both of them were--erm, perhaps even still are my clients, I can't really talk about it. Client confidentiality you know? Trust is everything in my filed..."
Looking down he watched one of his clawed fingers wiggle, "However...as for their characters. Well, Moreau, we've all met his type. I could see why Aubery invited him to counseling with out sharing what was going on. She's a cunning woman, sweet... but maybe a bit foolish. Or perhaps afraid. It's hard to tell the difference." Now came a slight laugh," All in all they were a welcoming host."

Richard wanted all the information he could get on any of the staff. Although he had no way to use any of it yet. He considered it ammunition for a future battle, if he could only find something to exploit. In his current mental state he viewed Charlie somewhat like a shelled nut. Cracking the man open was his first priority. The old ambush interviewing skills came to the forfront. He took a seat next to Charlie, careful not to lean back on his tentacles.
He shot Charlie a grin. "That doesn't sound like much of a match to me. Not much a partinership of a relationship eh." He looked at Charlie's claws, if the man deflected his question he simply retarget the man's denial. The alcohol was clouding his conseince and didn't care much about Charlie's own mental state.

"Moreu treats his fiancé simply as another form of business. He doesn't understand how to deal with her any other way. In the end the discussion between the two of them became more like a business agreement than mutual understanding..." Visibly Charlie gave a shudder. Sitting in that room, both of them talking about such obscure ideals that he still couldn't comprehend.
The sanitizer....where was it...into his pocket went his hand. Loose change, a pocket watch...where was--ah, a wave of comfort washed over Charlie as he gave the object a squeeze. Now, now he could concentrate. Having a crutch at his age? He knew better...but with the all the recent.
"Either way--" the middle age man shook his head, “enough of that subject."

Richard made a nod of approval as Charile talked. "Not surprising, he only needs her for his heir, he just wants his legacy. That was his attitude during my interview at least. Any ideas about what they had been fighting about?" Charlie had givin him a useful tidbit there but something he knew already, although this had been an independed confirmation.
His eyes wandered to Charile's hands and then back to his face, while the suckered clubs of his tentacles curled and uncurled unconisiously.

Apparently Richard had not finished asking his questions. Something Charlie found most unwelcoming and unpleasant. Didn't this man know it was rude to continue after he had so aptly been cut off? Richard...Richard was simply a little too eager for all of this. It was--"Can't say as I remember." Charlie interjected, watching the curling of those nasty things stuck on Richard's back.
"But Richard--I'm afraid I must pardon myself and leave." He raised his hand to his head, feigning a headache, "I get migraines quite often, nasty things they are and I'm not feeling to well... I'm sure you understand."
He finished nodding politely and then headed for the door. Interesting man...interesting man indeed.

Richard watched him go with a somewhat disappointed expression. Richard's interviewing skills worked better when the interviewee was the drunk one. "See ya later, you can tell me about it another time then." He called after Charlie.
As the door shut he turned his attention to the books, Why was he here again?
