I wonder what it takes to get sidewalks built in places where they're needed? Our side of the street needs one too. Jade can't cross the street in front of the bus like she's supposed to because there's no sidewalk on this side of the street, so we walk up to directly in front of our house and then cross, which is fine if I'm with her, but worrisome if I'm not.

I've wondered that myself. The school across the street is a middle school and many of the kids walk to school, but there are no sidewalks in our neighborhood at all. Of course, we also live on a County Road and it's pretty busy. Anyway, there are small "bike lanes" that the kids walk in, but in the winter they are covered by snow, so they either walk through the snow or in the road. I just don't get it.

I am glad the snow hasn't come here yet!!! It is ever soo cold when it does.... The disadvantages to living on a prairie:
-Lots of snow (when there is no drought which we have now) -It is always dry (this makes me un-happy too)
The advantages: -Not as many people are settled here so there is lots of wide open land!!! (YAY) - Springtime is very rainy (when there is no drought)

I know what you mean about prairies... I have a good picture of the lovely flat Minnesota prairie. I took these last winter at my boyfriend's family's dairy farm. It was so cold that day...around -10F.

Oh that is pretty... I like to look at the snow but if you make me venture out in it I will hate you forever... It has been decently temperate this winter... Even semi-warm... Lemmi see... Minnosota... Your not too far off from where I live I am a Coloradoian!!

As pretty as snow is in pictures and outside a window, I'm not a fan--makes driving such a pain, not to mention shoveling!

The almost-foot of snow we got on Wednesday, shot taken from our second story balcony.
View from our front window yesterday, looking slightly to the right.
View from same front window, looking slightly to the left, showing our adjoining neighbor's fence and steps up to the street.
View from the back showing the tall pines behind our back driveway/road.
Jason spent 2.5 hours yesterday shoveling this hill that leads down behind our townhouses so cars could get out! Yay him!
