Oz would have been very happy to have continued his discussion of kids classics. Until Colche's question changed the mood entirely. The smile melted to give way to a gentle frown and worried wrinkles. It was a topic that had indeed troubled his mind. What was he going to turn into? If at all.

"No, I don't know. At least...not yet," he answered glumly. "I hope its something cute and furry like you though."

He gently prodded Colche's nose and tried to smile again. That was he true sentiment. He sincerely hoped he'd stay mammalian.

Colche's smile spreads accross her maw even further, if that was even possible as he touches her nose. She giggles and nods "kinda looks like a teddy bear Oz" She tilts her head softly looking up at the man with those bright sweet blue eyes.

"No be sad okies, it's okies bein' fuzzy" she giggles then and takes Oz's hand, pulling him back the way they had come. "You likes cake Oz?" she grins "chocolate cake is me favourite" she giggles happily, trying to return the happy mood to oz. Usually her gleefulness was catching, she didn't like people being down. It was so much easier to smile, than to frown.

"Hehe, yeah, a great big living teddy bear. What a future to look forward to," he said sarcastically, but not in a malicious way.

Okay, this took a freaky turn. This was just like being back home with his little sister. Gah, this was beginning to feel rather bizarre. Was he actually getting used to the place? Its inhabitants? Looking past what they were on the outside? It really hurt his head, and his guts, to think about it. He wasn't supposed to feel comfortable here.

"Ah, so you're a sugar-fiend. Just like me," he chuckled, being careful where he stepped on the way back. If he slipped, he'd drag the fragile creature to the ground and probably hurt her.

"So, how long have you been here?"

Colche giggles. "I likes chocolate" She beams her perfect blue eyes dancing happily as she said it. Chocolate cake was the first real treat the now tawny fuurred femme had taken a liking for. Though there were of course other things she liked, tuna, steak, fish fingers, apple turn overs, Chocolate cake was still her most favourite treat.

She watched the big man as she pulled him back out in to the dazzling sunlight her dark hair catching her long jet black mane of hair, making it shimmer with a slightly blue tinge.

"Forever an, ever" she stated rather simply. She didn't know how long she had in fact been here. Time was of no consequence to Colche, every day was today and every today meant she was free. The time before the island, she tried to forget, she very rarely spoke of 'the before' so there for, it mostly didn't exsist there really was just, the now, the island and that was her forever.

"Forever, eh? You must be special if you can stay so young for forever then," he said, talking to her like she was a child now. He couldn't help it. As much as she looked like an adolescent, she didn't act like one.

But judging by her appearance, she must have been here quite a while to look so animal. He began to wonder just how far this process went - did it stop as a man-beast, or did they want to turn everyone into fully formed animals with human intelligence.

"You must know this Island pretty well then. What kind of stuff is here?"

Oz had yet to venture further than the beach, at least in terms of exploring. His daily walks and jogs took him past a few things, but he was mostly afraid to look further.

"Silly, Colche ish seventeen, like duplex!" she giggled though her nose wrinkled a bit, she knew not to refare to herself in third person
but occsionally she slipped in to her old habbit. She shook off the thought though and simply smiled "Aubrey brsught here long time agos, been on island forever." she nods some, affirming this little answer.

She beamed rather toothily when he mentioned the contents of the island. "Lotsa stuufs" she stated as if that made a description of the island unneccessary. She did indeed know pretty much every inch of the island. Where the best places to sunbathe where and where the biggest trees where to climb, where the freshest waters were and where you could chase exotic butterflies all day long.

Well, that was helpful...not...

Oz chuckled lightly at Colche's child-like behaviour. It was mentally jarring in yet another way, seeing this 17-year-old who should have more things on her mind than chocolate cake and the welfare of bugs. He had to wonder how she had ended up this way.

"Aubrey? Is that your mom?" he asked idly, the idea of a parent and child being here not quite as prepostrous as it might have been a week ago.

Colche gave a giggle when Oz asked about Aubrey, yes she considered Aubrey to be her mother, her figure of authority. It had been a long time since she had seen her but she was busy, and she could see why, all these people on the island! She must have been up to her eye balls in work. She supposed she could fogive her for not visiting for a while. Smiling a little whistfully the little cheetah girl gave a nod "Uh huh, she lives at labs" her tail twitched as she said it. She had to go to the labs and see Aubrey, if she was busy, she wouldn't mind would she? Maybe she could see moreau too? Wrinkling her furry brow she let the thoughts fall away for now.

"You wanna race?" she beamed, she knew all too well she could out run anyone on the island pretty much, but that didn't mean she didn't enjoy a race, she had even become a little competetive over time, enjoying beating those of her friends that aggreed to race her. It was fun to win though there were never any real stakes, only fun and laughter when they'd finished or sometimes some cake, she raced to the cafeteria alot. Sometimes she even raced herself, though she had no concept of time truthfully, she liked to zip to the cafeteria from ehr duplex as fast as she could.

"She lives at the labs? She must be special then," he said with a smile, his mind actually thinking maybe Colche's mother was too ferocious to be set loose.

By now, they had left the jungle and were just skimming its outskirts, a few duplexes and the main building just visible a short way off. Oz scoffed a little too quickly at her comment, wondering if maybe she was joking at first. A man versus a cheetah-girl? Yeah, that wouldn't work. But her bright-eyed, bushy-tailed expression told Oz she was being serious.

Well, what could one race hurt...his knee hadn't been acting up at all today. He shrugged, then cast her a playful smile. It was a challenge, and Oz liked nothing more than a challenge.

"Where do you want to race to?"

Colche gave a little giggle. "yeah mommy special, she has a prince." She grins happily, if only she knew what had happened between that forever ago time when she lay snuggles with her mother figure on the cot in the hospital perhaps she wouldn't be so happy. "Mommy rescued, braught here, very special" she smiles again her long tail flickering in a twitchy sort of manner.

Of course when he aggreed to a race she broke in to a quiet fit of giggles her tail lashing around in a helicopter like manner. "the cafeteria" she puurred,s he knew she could go that far without getting too tired, plus she really hadn't run off any of her energy today, she needed to before she settled down to cake.

Her tail went dead still then, only the very tip flickering left to right, she was ready to race and she had somone to race against. these were the times when she was most happy.

About to attempt deciphering Colche's 'kid-English', Oz's mind was quickly diverted by the unhindered glee she expressed at having a racing partner. He looked around for the cafeteria. It wasn't too far away, he'd certainly get out of breath trying to sprint that far and he was definitely tempting fate.

But somehow, an angry or upset cheetah-girl seemed far more dangerous than a bum knee.

I can't imagine why she doesn't have people lining up to race with her...I must be insane

"Okay then, just tell me when," he said, readying himself the way a human male would, leaning slightly forward and legs tensed. He didn't have a tail to twitch.

Colche beamed ehr long tail stopped as she turned that stubby muzzle towards the direction she was going to run. Her legs tenced the dence mucles tightening the sinnew in those long powerful legs bulging slightly. She lifts a paw like hand though and points, a large parrot was perched in a tree near by and she nodded at it. "when he goes" she states simply her perfect blue eyes transfixed upont he bird willing it to fly.

Of coruse, the bird did indeed eventually take to wing and the little cheetah girl took a stride, a single stride to take her off in to that powerful run her long, jet black hair flying out behind her, caught by the gasp of air that rushed past her as she ran. She never looked back of course, ehr dark eyes fixed on the road ahead her ears perked forwards, her nose givign a slight twitch as she thought of the nice slice of chocolate cake that was waiting for her.

Just because you know the island like the back of your furry hand like paw, doesn't mean things don't change. Unfortunately for Colche the littelest change in the ground she usually bolted accross caused her to trip. A divott int he ground caught one of those slender paws and it was a simple matter to imagine what would happen next. Colche almost flew as she went over, toppling to ehr hands and even doing a little roll before she came to a stop. "owie" she whispered pouting slightly, her knees and elbows scuffed by the ground, "owowow" she sniffs running her furred hands over her eyes. She didn't want to cry and look like a baby in front of her new friend.

It was a tense time waiting for the bird to move, and of course a girl with cat-reflexes would spot his movement first. But that didn't matter. Oz had no intention of actually winning - he was overcome by an urge to let her win, like she was a little sister or something.

When she shot off with the signature speed of the animal she resembled, the last thing Oz expected was for her to trip over. If anything, he thought the running would aggrivate his injury to the point of torture and almost waited for the face full of dirt. So as Colche tumbled to the ground, Oz skidded to a halt by her side.

"Are you alright? That was a nasty trip," he kneeled down to look less imposing.
