11/9/06 - It was certainly odd how I came about this music box. I actually intended to order my daughter a cake from this bakery for her upcoming birthday. My children may call me a horrible mother, but I do care about some of them. Lenne the most. She was my first daughter, she will always be my beloved daughter and it seemed something nice to do during this hard time in her life.
As I entered the bakery the wonderful smells practically knocked me off my feet. So many wonderful things to taste! I had almost forgotten about my daughters birthday cake. I approached the counter waiting for someone to service me when I noticed a small, rather cute looking music box on a decorated table out of the corner of my eye. A little sign in front of it said "Auction! Vanilla Cinnamon Latte!". I rose a brow at it because who in their right mind would auction off candies? Those better be some damn good candies to be auctioned off.
As I thought about how odd it was to auction off candies it finally struck me, "Shouko you idiot! They're auctioning off the music box! The candies are just the tasty extra inside!" Now it made sense. I inevitably meandered over to inspect the pretty music box. The craftsmanship was remarkable and I was very impressed by it. I pondered to myself why they would be auctioning it off. Perhaps the shop needed money to pay off debts? Eh. Sounded about right. These days it was almost impossible to start your own shop without being in some sort of debt to begin with. Stupid economy.
Moments later a very cute blonde boy came out form the back while my mind was still on the music box, he asked how he could help me and after making some shot down advances on him I asked how I could bid on the music box on display. Mr. Sexy-pants gave me an eBay adress for the auction in question and I left happy with myself....Remembering 3 hours later that I wanted ot order a cake for my daughter I picked up the phone and got her a cheap one. Horrible mother? Psshht.
After ordering my daughter's cheap super market cake I went looked myself the eBay adress given to me, and logged in. To my surprise the bid was amazingly high. Over a million dollars for a music box!? These people must be on crack. And so must I have been. In the end I paid 1.7 million in gold for a music box...
I feel enticingly happy now that I have it, but I had the buyer's remorse earlier on.
