Jini shivered. The place didn't sound pleasent. It actually sounded rather terrifying. Who would ever want to live in such a place? He was baffled by the idea. But he knew lions did choose to stay there. Kit and her family had lived there and Ger had just said he had met other lions there. The reasons for being there seemed warped to him, but he decided he shouldn't be too judgemental since he had never really gone too far from his homeland anyway. "Just...my friend lived here," He explained lamely.

"Oh? What's his name?"
He asked casually as his shoulders rolled from one to the other as he walked, his paws taking him onward. Jini was an interesting acquaintance, quiet and shy, yet he was still here beside him. Ger slowed himself to match the other male's pace and smiled to him from the corner of his maw.
"I sort of liked it there, I might go there from time to time just to meet that prince. He seemed nice."

"Her name is Kit," Jini replied, seeming a little more comfortable talking about something that wasn't directly related to him. And he really liked his friend, so it was really easy to talk about her. "She came to live here with her mate, actually..." He trailed off. He didn't quite remember what she thought of her home. He didn't remember her saying anything too fond about it, but then...he didn't recall her being too harsh towards it either.

"Kit, huh? I've never heard of her. What is she like?"
He asked casually, slowing himself a bit more to walk directly side-by-side with the other male. THe other male had some strange markings on him. Swirls and lines, dots and streaks, he was much more unique than Ger was, he was just plain. THat didn't matter, Ger was content with his fur.
"A mate, huh? Did you ever meet him?"

"Well...she's really kind...and cheerful...and fun...I met her when I was little," Jini said, a small bit of affection coming into his voice. It was hard for him to hide it. He wasn't exactly the type to mask his feelings. And Kit and he were pretty close. He nodded his head, a few strands of streaked mane slipping over his face, "Yeah...I met him...he seemed like a good guy. I'm happy for them."

"Did you like her? I mean, would you have taken the chance to be her mate if you were given that chance, Jini?"
He asked, keeping his teal eyes forward. Luckily, his chocolate brown bangs covered his face from the other male. Looking down quickly, he saw his own shadow. It was him, but what made him smile to himself was a short thin line that protruded from his head. It was that stupid cowlick he always had. Now it was a part of him that he simply gave up on it and left it be. It had been there for so long he had almost forgotten it was there.
"If you loved someone, would you tell them? If you truly wanted to be there for them, would you?"

Jini looked surprised at Ger's question. So much so that he stumbled, nearly tripping and falling on his face. He had to stop his walk to catch himself, flushing it utter embaressment. He shook his head quickly, "N-no! We're good friends but...I never thought of her like that...I really haven't thought of anyone quite like that..." He swallowed looking a little confused. Ger sure knew how to pose hard questions, "I've...never really thought about it before I guess..." That made him feel a little odd. Here were all his friends and his sister getting mates and he hadn't even thought about it.

"Good friends...no one?"
He said, his tone dimmed from his soft, cheery tone to a now softer one. He didn't talk about this often, but perhaps Jini would know what to do. He lived in the Pride lands, he may not have relationships but he might've known the lioness he would speak of.
"I liked someone when I was a cub...I think I still do. I still think of her every day, no matter how much I try to resist. She keeps coming to him in the way I've met her. I only spent a day with her, Jini. Just one and she has this effect on me. I don't know if you have any idea what I am talking about but I think I might...l-...lov..."
He couldn't even complete taht word. His fur was growing a bit red, luckily his fur was in the way hiding it.

Jini gave Ger a blank look, rather startled by how the conversation had shifted. It was almost like this other lion was asking for advice...but...he had been giving the advice earlier. What's that a little strange? It seemed the tables had turned unexpectedly. Jini's gaze softened and his smile became a little warmer. "You should tell her," he said, without a stutter marring any of his words. "You obviously feel very strongly about it."

"I know I should...but it's complicated. There are things that are holding me back from telling her. In fact, the thought never crossed my mind. I guess I like her more than before, but...I dunno if she feels the same way about me...She probably hates me that I suddenly disappeared for many months."
He murred as he kept on going. It felt good talking about his problems. Sure he had spoken about it before but at least Jini isn't telling him negative things more comforting.
Ger turned his head and smiled back to the other male.
"Hey...you stopped stuttering."

"If she was your friend she wouldn't...she'd just miss you, right...?" Jini shook his head. If this girl cared for him at all it wouldn't matter that he had left. She'd be happy to see him again. At least, that's how it should be. He continued to follow after Ger, feeling a little better that he wasn't a completely useless pile of trash. Not that he had ever really thought himself fit to give advice. His ears flickered back sheepishly at Ger's last comment, "A-ah...well...I...guess..." Opps. There he went again.

"I suppose you are right. If Trina liked me too and we were good friends, then she wouldn't be that mad at me. But why do I get that feeling that she is not one to easily forgive one for up and leaving her?"
He chuckled a bit, feeling better about his situation. Now he understood it, here he was not speaking of his troubles about his conflict but Trina in whole. That is why he was feeling much better. Because he wasn't dwelling on his initial problem.
"Well, the stuttering makes you sound shy. The way you were talking to me just then, I almost thought you weren't you. I like it better when you didn't stutter."
He purred.

Jini ignored the second bit of Ger's comment since the whole thing made him uncomfortable. He really didn't like talking about himself-it made him more shy and nervous. He was a very self-concious adolecent after all. So he did his best to keep the topic of conversation...elsewhere. "Well...forgiving might be hard but...those who are your friends really can't not forgive you, right?" He murmured, a hint of a stutter still floating around in his voice.

"I guess so...but this is Trina we are talking about. I think she will hate me, even if it is a little bit. I just don't want her upset is all. Call me foolish, but I want her to be happy."
He said with a smile, stopping a bit. He turned back to Jini with his smile again.
"Well, I suppose it is time for me to head on back to the den. My brothers and sister are probably wondering where their playground is."
He looked down to his paws and then out past Jini.
"Hmm...didn't realize we crossed the border already. We are pretty far from the Pride Lands' border, even further than Pride Rock. Sorry, Jini, I didn't mean to take you this far from your original destination."

Jini had opened his mouth to comment when he blinked, glancing around. Ger was right, they were outside the borders. He felt his stomach drop uncomfortably. He could go outside the borders fine, but he had never really done so unawares. It was unsetting. Forgetting his train of thought he shook his head and gave him an uncertain smile, "It's ok...It's not that far..." He shifted his paws, his ears flickering a little. "It was nice to meet you," He murmured sincerely.
