Our drum instructor says he doesnt get the idea of putting the "least skilled" people on the loudest instrument. I'm not saying cymbal players aren't good, thats just what he said. But we have a really tiny line anyway, so theres really not enough people to do it even if hed let them.

What is wrong with people!
Cymbals are all visual, they put a big spark in drumline! A lark BOOM as a finish is a real pleaser! They also provide a good marching effect when in 2nd semester.

We didn't have any cymbals this year. I don't think there were enough people. We had 4 basses, 1 tenor, and 2 snares. This year we might though.

We never have marching cymbal people... O_o Cause our BD thinks that cymbal parts can be covered by the pit/front ensemble...and we don't really have that many people to spare anyways... XP

I suppose that that would be a reason, but I have yet to be in a band with a small drumline/ percussion, but that might change next year. We're loosing almost the whole snare line and 2 section leaders...
*sigh
Drums make drum line....*

To AllThe Monkeys And Such, at the moment, my marching band is cymbol-less cuz my friend and I have switched out to snare drum AND their is this incompetent little twit that has no rythem and no sence of hand eye coordination. SO untill next year's little freshmen, we are without cymbals ~Says The Satchmoe
