Lenne flinched as one of Owle's feathers were plucked form her wings. She tucked her own saftly back under her shawel. Lenne looked down to Rand to answer that question, "It's because of her wing-sake, dear child. Geckos like to crawl around."
Lenne looked over to Jade and blinked, "Yes.....Miyon's are real wings. You've never seen angels before?"
Miyon went to wobbly take Rand's hand and clutched on tightly as he helped her to her feet, she gave a small whine.

"Yes... No! No I didn't... Maybe?" Jade shook her head, sinking slowly back onto her chair. "I found something that looks like an angel, I suppose. I found it on Halloween- but it didn't look anything like either of those. He's pure white, and he was naked when I found him..." She closed her eyes, shaking her head a bit more vigorously. "Let's not be silly now, there's no such things as angels- that's an old wives tale. And I'm not old enough to believe in such things just yet."

"Does this look like a costume to you?" And she lifted her hair up, away from the tiny wings it usually obscured. Then she spread the wings out, carefully, to their full span...which barely reached past her shoulders. But now Jade could see perfectly well the place where her wings connected to the flesh of her back, seamlessly blending into Owle's body. "Really...and even if it was a costume, that's rude..." Owle grumbled, folding her wings back in and massaging the sore spot gently.
"What's a gecko?" Rand asked, looking up at Lenne as he pulled Miyon up. When the child whined he looked back down at her. "Are you okay? I didn't hurt you or nothing, did I?"
Seeing she was a little wobbly, he put his other hand on her shoulder to help hold her up. "There you go. Everything looks a lot smaller from here, doesn't it?"

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to pull so hard- you just jerked." Thinking the appology wasn't enough, and feeling rather awkward, Jade handed Owle back the feather that had come loose. "I'm really very sorry." She typed some numbers in on the antique cash register and a little number sign popped up as the register popped open. "The Grimm Brother's Fairy Tales, twelve seventy-five." She murmured, beginning to put the book in a paper bag- there were no plastic ones at the store. "Pardon me but... Your little boy, did he happen to look.... different, when he was younger? He resembles Ni- someone... very much."

Lenne was taken with how confidently Owle responded to situations, if this was her she'd probably have had a small panic attack. Toching for her was an absolute no-no. People got hurt when they touched her. She looked back down to rand, "It's a lizard. I had one once, I had to give it away because the cats kept trying to eat him."
Miyon gave a small nod as she stood up straight. She looked around at everything there and fluttered her speckled wings abit. "Puwty...(pretty)" She murmured.

Taking a minute to compose herself, Jade turned to look at Lenne. "Pardon me Miss, can I help you find a book?" Perhaps it was best to ignore the situation entirely... Maybe it would go away?

"It's alright..." Owle said, handing the feather back. "Keep it, it's no good to me to hang on to it."
She seemed to have calmed down, now, and fished in her belt pouch for the proper payment. She knew this part of town took the weird paper money customers sometimes left in the Firebrand, so she'd made sure to bring some with her...she wasn't quite sure how to convert it to gold, but at least the bills were marked neatly with numbers so she could tell what amount was what. Not so much so for the odd coins; those still puzzled her.
In the end, she handed Jade a twenty, and decided to take it on faith that whatever weird coins were given to her were the proper change.
"Yeah..." Owle answered the question, watching as Jade slid the book into a bag. "His hair used to be all white, and his eyes were the deepest blue you can imagine."
As far as Owle's confidence went...well, you didn't stand up to the gods themselves without gaining at least a little bit of confidence in awkward situations. There wasn't too much that could phase Owle, not now that the woman made a point of seeking out strange and dangerous situations.
"Lizards are neat," Rand responded to Lenne. "I caught a crab once, but mom made me put him back where I found him. I was going to keep him in my room, I had a bucket of sand for him and everything."
"See? Pretty cool, huh?" He glanced back down at Miyon, smiling reassuringly. "Can you stay standing up on your own?" he asked. He didn't want to hold her all day, but he wasn't going to let her fall down.

"Did he ask for something?" Jade pressed, not yet taking the money. "I-I found something like that. I thought it was going to die within a few days, but it got stronger. It-it inhaled the meteor shower last week!" Having hidden Nikolai away for the past week, fretting over what to do with the helpless being, Jade had finally found an outlet to all that worry. "Please, tell me what I'm supposed to do with him- he's been sleeping in my bed and too unhealthy to leave the bedroom."

"I...inhaled a meteor shower?" Owle exclaimed, her eyebrows lifting. This was obviously something of a surprise to her, by the way she kind of reeled back and her eyes were getting wide. "I...I've never seen one do that before...he just...seemed to want to get his hands on this wolf plushie I had with me, so I gave it to him. Then it vanished. After a while I just found him looking like a human toddler, curled up next to me...just let him be, he should get better...I think..."
A meteor shower?!

Lenne looked up to Jade and smiled."I'm sure he'll be fine...My mother found Miyon and she turned out ok."
Miyon looked up at him and blinked again, feeling alittle more relaxed around him since he wasn't yelling so much this time around. She made a face and clung onto Rand forcefully not wanting to be dropped down back onto her knees. "Mnnn!!!"

"Yes, it enhaled it. I'd said the stars must be crying for you, I'd seen him falling out of the sky and thought I'd say something nice before he died, and then all the meteors changed course right for us!" Jade shuttered at the thought of what was to come. If it was unusual for a Herald to do that, then what would come now? Was her new ward more powerful than she first imagined? "The meteors looked like they hit him in the chest, but I couldn't tell- there was a bright light and I had to close my eyes." It was now that she noticed the bill in front of her and Jade quickly smiled sheepishly and accepted the currency to get Owle her change. "I thought I'd gone mad... But there he was the next day. It wasn't a dream, it couldn't have been!"

Rand got a panicked look on his face as Miyon suddenly clung to him more forcefully than before. Uh-oh. Now what?
"Um...okay," he said, not knowing what else to do. "I'll just keep holding you up, then. I won't let go, it's okay, you don't have to hold onto me so tight..." He made his voice as soothing as possible, but inside he was panicking. What was he going to do if she kept him stuck here forever?
"Oh my," Owle said, her mouth hanging open in a little 'o'. "Well, I don't know what to tell you...I guess anything could happen. But I'm sure he'll get better in time..." She looked at Lenne for confirmation. "...right? I mean, if he hasn't died, he has to be getting better!"

"You know more about this than I do, would you mind having a look at Nikolai for me?" Jade asked hopefully. "I don't think he'd have moved, and I left food and a drink for him so he wouldn't be hungry..." She was obviously nervous, though it seemed that there was something more than that. Jade acted like there were something very wrong going on, but what that was was very hard to say.

Lenne gave a small shoulder shrugg, "I can't say for sure I assume it'll get better. I guess I could ask my ex-maid, Yuki......She's in the reaping department." She murmured quietly.
Miyon gave him a concerned look, would he really continue to hold her and not let her fall? She didn't want to fall, she didn't even want up in the first place, "Kaaayy..." She muttered and let up her grip on him.
