Elu ran after the two as fast as she could and she felt her heart falter as she saw bot h of them topple over a sand dune. "Aion!" She screamed, and powered foward, skidding slightly as she swirved to avoid the black creature. She stopped into front of the black malu and nudged him, "Are you alright?" She didn't wait for an answer before batting his head with a paw, "You idiot! How could you do that? Are you truly mad? Going after a jaguar by yourself?" She glared at him as tears poured down her checks, "What were you thinking?" she whispered and then shook her head, "You weren't!" She snapped angrily, "Now look at you! Not have you reopened the cut on your paw but you've injured your shulders as well!"
She head-butted him in the chest, "You're the biggest fool I've ever seen!" she growled, though her words had begun to losetheir bite. She stilled glared at him though, after wiping away her tears with sand-stained paws, which only made the fur around her eyes clot with the soft substance. She looked down at the jaguar warily, waiting for it to get up again, "I swear, Aion, if you get yourself killed, I-I-I'll never forgive you!" She huffed angrily and set her jaw, it was a pathetic consequence but she didn't really care. He had scared her almost to death with his antics.

Tilting his head up, Aion's brow raised as he noticed another creature pass the jaguar on its way down the slope. His ears perked as he heard his name called and immediately recognized it as none other than Elu's. Frowning lightly at her stupidity, as soon she he felt her nudge, he made his annoyance known. "I'm fine, I told you to get back in the temple! What part of that was 'follow the predator out into the desert?'" Almost as soonhe managed to get that in he found his head forced to the side by a batt of her paw. Frowning, he listened to what she had to say, and shook his head. "I was thinking about you, you idiot! If you would have just left when I told you to, I wouldn't have needed to open this wound. Reguardless, I would have ran, so it didn't come after you." He hissed, taking the time to glance down at the Jaguar who was just slowly getting to its feet...struggling with its bleeding eye.
And just like that, Aion stumbled back onto his rear as he was headbutted by Elu. "What the hell!?......." He yelled, yet then his words too seemed to lose their verocity. Giving an annoyed sigh at her tears, she really was a fool to come all the way out here...getting sand all stuck on her cheeks. "Idiot..." Aion spoke rather...softly as he stood, using his wing to wipe away the sand which stuck to her wet cheeks.
Looking back at the jaguar as it looked to be about to get up, an odd angery rise in his eyes, a rage which was all too familiar surfacing in those orange depths. He made her cry...over you. You're bleeding, and hurt...and he's not going to stop untill he kills you both, afterall...you're too weak. There it was again, that voice that set his blood ablaze. You've never taken on a jaguar...you wont win. Its not like snakes, and wild dogs...they're designed for power and strength. Yet....to kill one...you would be stronger than any malu. Is that not what you want? or do you wish to watch Elu become some predator's lunch? A wicked smirk crossed his lips, one any Malu had yet to see, at least...the ones who were no longer alive saw it. Feeling the excitement rise in his blood, his muscles tensed as his body seemed to forget its inguries. Turning to Elu, it was as if his eyes looked right through her as he spoke with his words dripping in malice. "Don't worry...Only one will die today...and its not going to be us."
Taking off into a sprint down the hill, his claws had reappeared on his paws, taking an odd offensive posture....an odd look for an animal which did not kill to eat. Eyes locking on the jaguar's neck, he knew he would be able to crush it in a single blow from his paws, as long as that jaguar stayed down for only a few more seconds.

Elu growled at him, "How am I supposed to know?" she retorted, "And I'm not and idiot! I couldn't help myself! And that is not a crime!" She stopped abruptly as he brushed a few of her tears away with one of his wings. She hadn't notcied they were there, and a faint blush began to creep up her cheeks until her returned his gaze to her and his eyes seemedto look right through her. That wasn't Aion, looking back at her, that wasn't the Aion she had come to know. That creature wasn't rational, it wasn't thinking ahead.
She watched in horrow as the creature that looked like Aion made sprinted toward the jaguar and took a strange aggresive position. He'll be killed! screamed a voice in her mind, What is he thinking?! He couldn't take out a jaguar! Even one that was still stunned from the last attack She had to stop him, without either of them getting killed. But how...?
As the idea came to her she sprang into action, Aion looked like he would kill the jaguar, and in doing so, would once again fall victim to his wretched god. She had to prevent that by making sure he didn't kill the creature. But if she stopped the creature all by herself, he could be lost because of that as well, she had to get him to help her defeat the jaguar, but not kill it.
These thoughts passed in a blur as she raced down to the bottom of the dune, she skidded at the bottom, spraying sand everywhere, and directly where she needed it to go, right into the jaguar remaining good eye. Her thoughts worked frantically as she tried to think of a way to get Aion to help her but in the next instant, the black leopard raised its paw and began to swipe at her. She watched in horror, unable to move as the clawed paw swung toward her, as if in slow motion.

Closer...closer....A wild smirk stretched on his lips as his eyes were alit as if on a high, the bloodlust instilled from his god cuasing his heart to race against his chest. That was....untill a brown blurr whipped past him down the slope which caused the male to startle and slow his run for an instant. What was she doing? His god tried to whisper sweet words to pit her against Aion, yet the male would hear nothing of it and blocked that voice from his mind. Watching as her skid has sprayed sand into the Jaguar's remaining good eye, the creature bellowed in pain....had she really done it? Stopped th Jaguar without ending its life?
...apparently not.
Just when all seemed to be going well, the Jaguar raised his paw as time slowed. Rage evident in the wild cat's snarling maw, it had no intent to stop...and Elu was just standing there frozen! In an instant, Aion snapped out of his trance, eyes widenening in of all things, fear. "ELU!" he yelled, pushing his body in a raw surge of powerful instinct as he made the last few bounds towards the pair...managing to get his face inbetween its paw and Elu in the nick of time. Closing his eyes with an odd smile on his face, he suddenly felt the claws across his face as the powerful swipe had sent the malu skidding along the sand. Laying still for a moment, the black malu grunted softly as he shifted his feet under his body. Chuckling lightly, Aion forced his body to move, looking back at the Jaguar as he turned his head...four long gashes scarring his face from the top of his head, across his eye which he kept closed, all the way down to his jaw. It looked gruesome, yet Aion made it look like it was nothing as he stood, panting heavily from running so hard. "Is that the best you can do...?"

Elu couldn't believe her eyes, she had seen the claw comingand had prepared herself for the pain and in the next instant Aion had been between them! He had been hit, she knew, some of his blood splattered on her head. What she couldn't comprehend was the fact that he was still standing. The four gashes on his face should've left him in too much pain to really move, and yet there he stood a strange smirk on his face balthering on about "Is that the best you can do...?" It was certainly not the best for him in the intelligence department!
"Aion!" She shouted, moving toward him, "What's wrong with you?" she hissed, but she didn't bother to wait for an answer, the creature was still trying to get the sand out of its eye and even then still try to snatch at them with a few paw. If it was so dangerous, Elu might have laughed at another time. But it was dangerous, they had to get away, fast, but they also had to make sure the creature didn't follow them back to the temple. That would be worse. It didn't help that Aion was crazed with the prospect of killing the creature. When would he learn? Just because you could kill something bigger then yourself, didn't mean that you were stronger, it just meant you were nuts enough to try. If she could've have, Elu would have sighed, but that wasn't a possibility here. She had to bring Aion back, get rid of the jaguar-without killing it-and get home. And with all the action, she was quickly losing her sense of direction. If she didn't finish everything quickly...
"Aion," she whispered, her face toward his, "Look, you may think that taking this creature down would be some sort of triumph. It's not. And I don't care what you're thinking right now. Odds are your wretched God is pouring them into you and you're believing what he's saying." She looked at him, into his one good eye, "Stop it, Aion. I don't know if you could win against this creature and I don't want to find out!" She bared her teeth at him, "I want the AIon I know to come back! Not this crazed beast, right now, you're no different from that jaguar. How can we possibly be saved if you're no better then that creature?" She couldn't help but look at his head wound, "And we have to get your wounds treated, understand? We have to get back to the temple. Right now that's most important. Not your damn pride, not your God, you."
She glared at him, "So are you coming with me, or not? The creature isn't going anywhere until it can see, which between you and me, he won't be able to for a long time. The faster we get away from him, the easier it'll be to get him off our trail!" She looked at him earnestly, he had to see what he was doing. He had to understand that if they didn't treat his wounds soon he either die of blood loss, or they're get infected. Either way, he'd soon be dead and she couldn't let that happen. But she'd let it be his decision. If he wanted to die, it was his right, not matter how stupid he would be by doing so. She stared at him, and waited for an answer.

It was fortunate that Aion had black fur, even out here in the desert...as no one could see his shaking legs and how quickly he felt he would collapse. Never had he run so far, so fast, and so hard in his life. Not to mention how wounded he was...normally he wasn't so stupid to get himself this hurt....yet when it came to Elu..it turned out he was a complete idiot. He would have taken far more for her sake, it was how he was holding onto that 'this was nothing' tone coming from his lips. Turning slightly so his right good eye could see Elu as she talked...looking rather angry; yet he knew it wasn't due to him saving her. He had given in once again...he knew it too...winning against this creature would probably be the death of both of them. His blood was running too past from his trio of wounds, even now with the heat he was starting to get dizzy.
Gazing down to the ground, He knew, god he knew they had to get out of here. Yet that voice started up again and it was hard to ignore...as his eyes looked up to the struggling Jaguar. Cloing then with a hard frown on his face. Aion shook his head roughly and dropped to the ground, rolling on the sand to get it all over him and coat his wounds. It hurt, and it showed on his face especially when he got sand in the gashes. Taking longer to stand this time around, Aion's chest rose and fell deeply with each breath, looking to Elu as himself. "Lets go." Was all he said before taking off, pushing himself to the last limits to get back into the temple. At their pace of escape, it didn't take long at all. Passing through the forest surrounding the temple, they came upon the coutryard, and then the temple enterance. Heading straight for the shade of the temple, Aion's paced slowed to a wobble, before allowing his legs to buckle in under themselves as he felt his body fall to nice, cold stones of the floor. Leaning the good side of his face against the fall, he could feel his body cooling immediately...the black fur having kept in all the heat of the sun as well as running.

Elu followed Aion back to the temple and watched as he collapsed onto the cool stone. She walked up to him and gently nudged the good side of his face, "Don't fall asleep, okay? That's the worst you can do right now." She looked up and around the area, "I'm going to go look for something to help you with your wounds, I'll be back as soon as I can." She looked back down at him, "Don't fall asleep, okay? Don't even think of it." She gaze hardened, "And when this is over, I'm going to have a little talk with you." She ran off in search of something to help him, praying that he would do as she told him.
She glanced around at all of the plants that grew in the courtyard, she was searching for this one herb she had seen her mother use when she was a little child. A dull purple in color, it dulled pain and helped begin healing. She needed to find it fast, because the longer it took for her to find it, the less chance Aion would still be alive when she returned. She was just about to turn back, when she caught the familiar shade of purple. It was just a glimpse, nd she she stepped closer she saw why that was. The flowers lay inside a patch of thorns, protected and completely out of reach unless she allowed herself to be hurt in order to get them.

Cracking open his one good eye, Aion gazed up at Elu and nodded faintly at her request. Sleeping was the worst thing he could do...Aion wasn't sure he'd be able to wake up. Yet as she ran off to go look for whatever she was looking for, he found it harder and harder to stay awake. His one eyes kept trying to close, as he grunted to stay awake. "This is hopeless..." He hissed, glancing around to see that she had not yet returned. Slowly pulling his legs in under him, he stood up get fell slightly to lean against the wall. He could smell water close by, even hear the central fountian splashing in the courtyard up ahead. Taking a few steps foreward from his bloody body print on the ground, the sand ridden droplets fell behind him leaving a visible trail.
Don't fall asleep....don't do it. He thought to himself, mustering his strength as he pushed his side off of the wall and walked over to the fountian, the cool mist feeling wonderful on his fur. Slowly raising his paws up onto the ledge, he allowed the rest of his body to fall into the pool as the cool, refreshing sensation washed over his body. It was heaven to have the sand out of his wounds, and his body cooled off as he held his breath to remained underwater. Resurfacing his head, he let it rest on the ledge, now able to feel the blood flowing from his wounds especially on his face. He didn't pay attention to how dirty and red the water of the fountian was now getting...figuring it would drain out in time. Closing his one eye for a moment, he kept thinking to make sure he wouldn't fall asleep.

Elu returned to where she had left Aion, triumphant. She was bloody, with superficial cuts covering her legs and sides and even a few on her head and back. But she had gotten the flower and that was what mattered. She leapt onto the landing, expecting to see a half-dead but still awake black male and feared that he wouldn't be just half dead. What she found was a pool of blood.
Terror lanced through her as her thoughts careened back to the jaguar and she set her nose to the ground, frantically searching for his scent. She caught it, along with the tiny droplets of blood he had left behind and followed it at ful speed until she came upon him in the fountain. She almost fainted with relief, at least he was still alive.
She moved forward, alarmed at how dark the water had become. She set the bunch of flowers down, "Aion, Aion," She repeated, nudging his good side get, "You have to get out, I can't get to your wounds when you're in the water." She stepped back far enough so he could get out of the water, shaking her head a bit to get her own blood out of the eye that wasn't covered by her hair. It was annoying, and in the way. She nudged him again, "Come on, Aion, you have to move, the herbs won't stick if you stay in the water." She shook her head and stepped back, waiting for him to get out and ready to help if he needed it.

Hmm...I can't feel my face. My shoulders ache, I can't believe I didn't do away with that Jaguar...its so unlike me. Yet...could I have killed infront of her? After what Elu had seen in my shrine, I don't think she could have even looked at me after all of what we had been through last night. Ugh...my face. Aion thought bitterly, able to feel where the three gashes started up at the top of his skull and ended down at his jawbone. He dare not open his eye, as he truly feared what he would find when he opened it. Upon feeling the warmth nudge of Elu's nose and he soft voice, he opened his eye and looked up at her...feeling alarmed at how cut up she was. Standing up from the fountian, he stepped down and out, unable to shake due to he knew he would probably topple over.
Tilting his head to be able to see her, he gazed her over and it looked like she had a fight with a rose bush or something. Yet from the purple flowers he noticed on the ground...it seemed her price was rewarded. "You're an Idiot...like me." Aion said weakly, yet managed to strike a grin as he moved forward and gave her brow a lick to remove the blood. It was odd, he seemed to have such a bloodlust...yet hated the taste of it and often the look of it. Too bitter...as he would rather have a cherry. It was his favorite fruit afterall. Gazing down to the flowers after, his single orange orb looked slightly confused at what he should do with it...never having been healed or had to heal someone before. "So, do I eat it or something?" When she wasn't looking, he slowly slid one of the flowers behind his paw - out of view.

"Mm, not an idiot." She replied as he licked her brow, Backing up another step she shook her head, "And you don't eat it, at least not a lot of it, it's not good to eat it much." She shook her head and pull a single petal off, "You're uppo'ed 'o 'ut i' on the 'ound-'et-ahnd 'ait 'or it ta dry." She told him, her words garbled as she held the petal in her mouth, "'O 'ay 'own." She ordered, motioning with a paw so he could understand it better.
That was how her mother had made her do when she had done the same thing so she assumed that was right right thing to do-which it was-but putting those leaves on involved securing them in place and making sure the bandagee didn't move until they were dry. "Unner'hand? 'O 'hou'ing." She moved forward and pressed him down with her paw on his back, "'it 'own an' het me 'elp 'ou." She stepped back and waited for him to comply. And if he didn't? Well, she have to make him and he might not like the results.

Scowling lightly, Aion's one eyes squinted as if trying to comprehend what on earth she was saying with that petal in her mouth. As the scowl did not dissapear...it was clear he did not understand, at all. "What the hell are you rambling about?" He understood you're supposed to....and then dry...and lay down. Shaking his head, the black malu raised a brow as she placed a paw on his back and pushed down...to which he oddly complied. Folding his legs beneath his body and sat gazing at the ground. Making a small adjustment, he still kept the one flower hidden, folded under his unbloodied front paw.
Cautiously Aion tried to open his injured eye, yet made a sour face and quickly shut it again. He really just wanted to see again, as trying to use depth perception was increasingly hard with one eye, not to mention how much he had to turn his head to look at things on his right. "Fine...just don't dawdle." He warned, feeling slightly better already now that he wasn't covered in sand and had cooled down his body temperature. It seemed his attitude was returning to normal.

She huffed, the petal fluttering in the breeze her breath made. She carefully placed one of the petals on top of his shoulder and pressed it down gently with her nose, until she was sure it wouldn't move. "I'm afraid you'll be the one dawdling, Aion. You have to be still until the petals dry." She tore off another petal and repeated the process until all of the claw cuts wer covered in the large dull purple blotches, helping secure them more with a few licks here and there.
She stepped back for a second and grinned lopsidedly, he looked like her was wearing a purple splotched cape across his shoulders and it was quite comical looking. She didn't have time to laugh though, the cuts on his face were still bleeding, though the steady flow had tapered off a bit. She set about putting more of the petals on that side of his face, "We're going to have to cover you eye, I can't really tell if there's a cut on it, or not so I'd best do it to make sure." She lay another petal on top of it, just to make sure she got all around his eye.
Finally, she sat back and admired her handiwork. All of his wounds were covered, even that cut on his paw, which had broken open again. "There!" she sighed, a triumphant smile on her lips, flipping her sweaty mop of hair out of her eyes, "At least you won't be dying anytime soon." She lay down in front of him, "No moving, got it? This place has plenty of shade right here for you, and even a bit of a breeze." She cocked her head at him, amusement creeping into her gaze, "Or will I have to sit on you to keep you still?"

"Ahck! Watch it, it stings!" Aion hissed lightly, taking a deep inhalde as she pressed down firmly on his wounds to secure the petals to him. Growling faintly, he sighed as he figured he would just have to live with it untill she was finished. It wasn't too hard....untill she reached his face. Gasping, his wings flared out as he squirmed ever so slightly, the open wound long gouge hurting incredibly moreso than the puncture holes. Looking up at her with the glare he mumbled something along the lines of 'are you -trying- to kill me'.
Huffing as she had finished and laid down before him, able to tell from her little grin erlier just how retardedly stupid he must look. "I look like a pansy." It was a clever reference to either the flower or its offensive meaning, as Aion simply looked too moody to be wearing purple petals which enabled him to move untill the damned little things were dry. Taking note of the only two deeper cuts on her body, the one above her eye as well as two on her paw he lifted his own paw to reveal the flower he had saved. He was aware that if he didn't hide one, she probably would have used it all on him...which wasn't what he wanted. Moving ever so carefully, he ripped a petal off and placed it on his paw which he moved and stuck it onto her forehead. Continuing the motion, he pulled her paw over to him while ripping off two petals, nudging them on with his nose before gently licking the edges down so they would not fall off. Oddly silent and concentrated the whole while he was tending to her.

"Well, not a pansy just a bit like a flower." She grinned at him mischieviously until the next insist when she caught a glimpse of a dull purple petal and a sting on her brow, "Wha?!" She exclaimed, her eyes closed at the slight pain. She shifted her wait to retain her balance as her paw was pulled, "What are you doing, Aion?" She blinked down at her own covered paw, "Hey! You took one of the flowers!" She glared at him, "I got them for you, why'd you take one of 'em?" She pouted slightly, Why had he done that? He needed those flowers, it was far more logical to use them on him, and not on her wimpy cuts. Her wounds were nothing compared to his. Her eyes narrowed, he had moved too, unsetting a few of the petals.
She growled and immediately moved to set them back into place. Licking them to make sure they stayed put. "I told you not to move!" she scolded, her fierce expression completely destroyed by the large petal covering half her forehead.
She huffed and lay down near him, "Males." She chided, "Never listening to those who know what they're doing." SHe huffed again, and looked at him sideways, heat she hadn't noticed was there a first becoming painfully obvious to her. Silently, she thanked her goddess for giving her a dark enough coat that it wasn't immediately obvious. "Thank you for dong that." she said softly, barely audbile, "You shouldn't have done it, but thank you."
