Legs shaking as he dragged up onto the warm sand with Bianca, water and saliva dripping from his chin, open mouth panting hard, his whole body hurt. but he managed to keep himself up. leaning forward heavenly on his tired legs.
turning his head just in time to catch Bianca's eyes, his eyebrow raised slightly. he knew it would be dangerous to leave the temple... he knew very well, that what he was going to face in his Journeys, could be the very end of him. he felt bad, for dragging Bianca into this... away from her Roses. this kind of life, could only be for people who truly wanted it. he was selfish for wanting her to be with him while he fulfilled his purpose. slowly his breath came back to him normally. lowering himself to the ground watching Bianca silently as she overcame her pain.
soon, the day would come when he was truly ready to start his Travels... what would he do then.
"are you alright?" he asked softly, seeing her curl up.

Bianca turned slightly in order to peer into his milky brown gaze. "I'm okay," she stated softly, ears lowering slighty to rest against her white skull. "Are you okay?"
The lightly colored Malu twitched slightly as her fur began to dry and stand on end. She let out a sigh, then rested her head upon her forepaws, trying to organize her thoughts in the best of ways. Bianca shivered and curled up tighter against herself, feeling less shaken than she did previously.
The shadows waved across the oasis, welcoming the oncoming evening. Windows of light cascaded over Bianca's face, dappling her white coat and causing some spots to be warmer than others. She wrinkled her maw toward the lack of symmetry, but welcomed the warmth wherever it could be found on her body.

releaved she was starting to catch her breath. he sad in the silence and warmth with her, until he was sure she was fully recovered. glancing over at her, and admiring how the light danced with her bright pelt. oh.. how he would miss that,
"... after this... lets go home alright" he said softly, then shifted his distant eyes to look into hers he didn't say anything for a long moment. thinking about what he knew he was feeling. looking away from her, to stare out, distractedly over the desert. he slowly opened his mouth "could you love someone, that was half a world away?"

Bianca's ears perked forward with inquiry and she stared at her nearby friend, running his question through her head a thousand times over. It was a question that had constantly been at the back of her mind, painfully etching its way through her heart and into her soul. She watched him, though sight wasn't necessary for her to remember every inch of his existence... his image was forever embedded within her memory.
The young female stood and slowly came to rest by Odyss' side. Her gaze swept over the oasis and it took a long moment before she was able to reconfigure her thoughts.
"Odyss... no matter where you choose to go... no matter what you choose to do..." she started, then paused to look at him. Tears welled up in her eyes and her body shivered, though not from cold. "... no matter... any of that. I will always love you."

Obyss closed his eyes, lowering his face towards the ground. he had never felt his heart beat so hard. it almost hurt him. sitting back up, he slowly opened his eyes and looked over at Bianca, he didn't say anything, moving forward, and licking away the tears from her cheeks, he placed his forehead onto hers, and closed his eyes. "its going to be hard..." he whispered. he wanted nothing more then this... then her, he knew, that she would be the only reason he would return to the temple. otherwise, he would just continue on his journey without looking back. he just hoped, for how strong she was, this would not cause her to break down... he could never forgive himself.

Bianca emitted a sad sigh and said, "I know it will be... I know."
She blinked the rest of the tears out of her eyes and stared at the sandy floor beneath them. Even at an adolescent age, she was surprised at how much larger Odyss' paws were than hers. She knew they would carry him far... farther away from her day by day. It was the tragedy of love, she decided, to become so attached to someone who had the heart of a traveler.
Bianca had once contemplated the possibilty of travelling with him and maybe that would work... every once in awhile. But unlike Odyss, she was attached to this desert... as she was to the Malu who resided within it. The temple had become her home... even if Odyss didn't feel the same.
"We should get going," she said at last, standing on all fours. With a quick glance at Odyss, she smiled... somewhat sadly... then trotted toward the edge of the oasis... following the scent of her home. Somewhere there she would find comfort... somewhere there... they would be safe.
