Azruael's head canted to the side like a bird's, lips pressed into a thin slash across his face. Well, if she didn't want to elaborate, he wasn't going to press. At least not today.
Fallen? Alexei? He looked back at the Herald and moved his forefinger around in the air, connecting the dots. Oh yeah, he knew that. The demon's spaded tail swung back and forth; more and more angels were falling, and that thought alone was unsettling.
"H'lo, Miyon, s'nice t'meet'ya! Yeh, m'hungr--uhm!" Alexei's eyes widened, stepping towards Mackerel as if to ward her away from the boxes, only it was too late. She's going to get in trouble! Alexei stuffed the bar in his pant's pocket to hide the evidence.
Azruael howled with laughter.

"On the contrary, there aren't enough people adopting the demon that keep arising...Maybe if there were they wouldn't feel the need to congregate in my house with the other ones my mother adopted...." She murmured with a small hint of resentment in her voice. With her being the only one to clean the rather large house she was growing impatient with the ones that resided there, even if she was particularly close to some of them...
Miyon shook her head from side to side as Mackerel offered her the granola bar. She clung to Lenne's leg stiffly, those 'I'm gonna cry' looks on her face.

Elf was just about to lunge for Mackerel. She watched, horrified, as Alexei stashed one of the bars in his pocket. They were going to get in trouble!!!
Mackerel nodded approvingly as Alexei took the bar, and waved the other in Miyon's face, "Are you suuuuure?"
It was then that a store worker passed the aisle, "Hey kid! Did you pay for that?"
"Oh sh**!" Elf grabbed Mackerel's arm and looked at everyone sheepishly, "I'm sorry... Guess it's time for me to go! It was nice meeting you all though." The woman paused and looked down at the other two Heralds, "I hope this is a lesson to you two!"
With that, Elf lifted the giggling Mackerel back into the cart to check out and pay for the stolen goods.... Meanwhile, she scolded Mackerel as best she could.... but what could she say? Wasn't it her fault that the child was becoming as such?

Laughter dying, he could help but wonder - briefly - if her words were some sort of double entendre, though it wouldn't be the first time someone had shown their dislike of demons in front of him. Azruael had long since become accustomed to such; when you've heard it since childhood, you could do nothing more than to grow tough skin.
He had more to worry about...like that granola bar in Alexei's pocket! ...which he found he could care less about. It was more of an 'aw, he just shop-lifted. his first sin!' sort of a moment rather than one of panic.
"Iw'sgunnapayIprom'se!" the little boy mumbled in a flurried apology, color rising to his pale cheeks. However, it didn't seem that the clerk was addressing him at all. He stuck his fingers into his mouth and tried to seem as inconspicuous as possible, though the bar seemed to be growing heavier and heavier in his pocket.
He visibly winced with a 'yes ma'am' as Elf zoomed off to check out, waving meekly at Mackerel in farewell. Hopefully she wouldn't be in too much trouble.
"...w-well...sin'e Ah have't, wan' half o'th' bar, Miyon?" He giggled guiltily.

Miyon nodded alittle. Alexei was alot calmer than Mackerel was, and therefore she was alot more comfortable around him. Her wings twitched abit as she pulled on Lenne's cloak, she felt cold. "Sis'aw....Co'w..." She murmured quietly.
Lenne sighed and pulled off her cloak, which was really somewhat of a giant piece fo fabric, kinda of like a sati wrap or whatnot. Undeneath peeked out three sets of blood stained white wings. Seraphim. That's what she was. Her golden brown hair fell out of the cloak onto her shoulders and wrapped around her tanned face. "Here, Miyon. No cold now?" She murmured, wrapping the ltitle girl carefully. She looked back up to Azruael and spoke, "So how did you come across him?" She questioned, 'him' being Alexei, "Most demons would have disregarded him, or maybe even hurt him..."

His tongue stuck out as he dug into his pocket for the stolen bar, eyes flicking around to make sure there were no more clerks around. With the aisles clear of people, he fumbled with the bar and tore it open, catching the granola before it fell from his fingertips, and snapped it in half.
"There!" he said triumphantly, holding out the larger half of the bar. "Y'k'n have th'bigger piece." Biting off a piece of his half, he wondered if he had been as shy as Miyon was now...he was getting better, though! Maybe if he could be Miyon's friend, she'd feel better too!
Azruael eyed Lenne's wings, stricken with curiosity as to why she had three sets of them; he wasn't aware that she was a seraphim, of all things.
He watched her almost too avidly, like a cat in waiting, though there was no devious intention behind his eyes.
"I...found him," he responded quietly. "I am not most demons. Alexei was in a very similar position as I..."
He glanced at the little boy, whose cheeks were full of granola, "I believe even the damned can find redemption, don't you? At any rate, he saved me."
A very unusual demon, indeed!

"Whee!!!!"
A shopping cart came gliding down the aisle, seemingly of its own free will. At least, that is, until you noticed Rand's small hands gripping the handle, his feet resting on the axle of the cart's back wheels. All in all, he was having a fun ride.
Then there was the little dragon, Verde, looking quite panicked. "Rand stop! Rand get hurt!" One frantic glance at the crownd of people up ahead. "People there!"
And behind them both, an odd blue-haired woman came running. "Rand, get back here with that cart!"
He was bound to crash into something or someone, and with a thud the cart bumped into a small, free-standing cereal display. A few boxes were shaken loose, and Rand was a little jarred by the impact, but no harm done.
The little wolfish Herald sniffed the air, then fixed his green eyes on 'Lexi. Dismounting the cart, he went over to examine the other Herald, occasionally leaning closer to get a whiff of his clothing. Finally he straigtened up, seeming satisfied about something. "Lexi! Your hair got long."
Verde, in the meanwhile, was muttering something to himself as he hovered over the cereal boxes, struggling to lift one up and put it back into place.
Owle finally caught up to the now still cart, huffing and panting for breath. Rand had run her through just about the entire store like that.
"Oh...hello."
She smiled. She hadn't expected to see anyone she knew here. "Hey, Azruael. And, um, hello." She inclined her head slightly towards the people she didn't recognize, her eyes instantly drawn to the beautiful, if bloody wings. "Sorry about the mess..."
((Owle looks like the picture in my sig, scales and wings included. Her feet are covered in similar scales to the ones on her shoulder, her toes crowned with blunt digging claws. Too lazy to do proper description, sorry.))

Miyon took the other part of the granola bar and chewed on it thoughtfully, a small smile floating across her face asa she clutched Lenne's cloak. Minute later the little wofl herald showed up, startleing Miyon, she gave another screech and hide behind Lenne in a flurry of cloth.
"It's hard for the damned to find redemption...No matter which side the damned fell from..." She murmured quietly. "I'm glad not all demons are that way.....If only my sister was that way." She smiled alittle, looking to the woman who had walked up to them. "Hello..."

(( I wouldn't mind if you posted, Lily. :B ))
Alexei yelped and choked, having been mid-swallow when Rand came speeding down the aisle like a bat out of hell. His little fist beat against his chest in hopes to free the offending granola, eyes watering just barely.
They all sounded so familiar! And like his earlier incident with Mackerel, it took a moment for them to register within his mind. He visibly brightened, and grinned back at Miyon - or tried, as she had already hidden herself again.
"Rand! Mr. Verde! Miss Owle!" He seemed to shimmy in place with glee, and if he had a tail, it'd certainly be wagging! Rand's inspection was taken in stride; he was used to having Jumbo sniff him, so somehow it didn't surprise the little Herald that Rand would do the same.
At the mention of his hair, he reached up and played with a curly strand, wings buzzing behind him, "Uh huh! K'n'a scary, innit?" - he grinned and pointed to the little bundle of cloth covered Miyon - "That's Miyon! She's like us too!"
"It is," he nodded. "But it's there for the determined to find." He nearly asked her about her sister were it not for Owle's appearance, to which he seemed to regain his composure.
"Lady Luck smiles on me this day, wouldn't you agree?" He gave his most vulpine of grins, arms folding over his chest.

((Nor would I.))
"Friend!"
At hearing Lexi's voice, the miniature clockwork dragon gave up lifting the cereal box and came to hover over near the Heralds. He was less than a foot long, built in the style of an Eastern dragon; long and wormlike, with a beard and four short stubby legs. There seemed to be nothing to keep him in the air, or to keep the metal contraption moving, but he was moving and talking nonetheless. He hadn't recognized Lexi, not at first, but now that he heard his voice.
"Friend Alexei is well? Changed much, getting big. Soon be bigger than Rand."
Rand shot an annoyed look at the dragon, but didn't say anything. One of his goals in life was to be big and tall someday.
"I hope mine never gets that long," Rand replied, nodding. "Mom would never let it alone."
He peered around Lenne cautiously when Lexi pointed out Miyon. "Hi there! My name's Rand! You wanna play?" he greeted her, friendly and loud.
In the meantime, Owle was grinning like a fool at Azruael. "You mean meeting me, or the fact that Cheerios are buy 2 get 1 free?" she asked playfully. The grin softened, and she added, more seriously. "It's good to see you."
She returned Lenne's smiling. "I'm Owle," she introduced herself. "A friend of Azruael's. And you are...?"

Lenne smiled, "I'm Lenne...We've only just met." She explained sheepishly, gesturing to Azruael. "It's not to meet you Owle..."
Miyon jumped and hid herself even more at Rand's rather loud greetings, "Sis'aw" She pleaded wanting to be held higher than Rand currently was.

"Pleased to meet you, too," Owle replied. Her eyes kept wandering away from Lenne's face, openly staring at the beautiful wings. Until she forced herself to snap them back to Lenne's eyes, anyway.
"What's wrong?" Rand asked, leaning forward to peer at her more closely. "I'm not that scary looking, am I?"

Elizabeth peered sheepishly around before realizing what a large fuss she had made. Whoops. She stared at the demon, as if trying to understand what his mind was about, not that he was paying any further attention to her. "I know you won't eat me," she mumbled. It was then she saw Owle- a familiar face! A grin danced to Elizabeth's features as she waved with animation at the woman. She woul dhave a thing or two to say about her mysterious past few nights!

He couldn't help the grin that pulled at his lips as Verde neared, lifting up a little finger to touch the small dragon. It had been such a long time!
"M'doin' real good - V'gotten lots taller now! What'choo been up to?" He couldn't help but smile a bit at Rand's expense, brimming with pride that he was growing taller; it must have been every little boy's dream to be tall!
"Oh, yeh," Alexei responded, with a tone of exasperation, as he knew exactly what Rand was on about. "M'auntie Lily's a'ways playin' wit' m'hair, n'she's got tons of 'er'own, too!" While on the subject, he couldn't help but to reach up again and tug on one of his many curls; it bounced back upwards in a way he had at first been fascinated with. It was like having slinkies all over your head!
At Miyon's apparent fear, his brows drew in, worried. This wasn't good. He shuffled forward and held out a hand, like one coaxing a frightened animal from hiding.
"Rand w'n'eat yeh, promise. S'real nice, hones'! You k'n come out, Miyon."
Azruael adopted a look of surprise, narrow eyes widening marginally; he looked over his shoulder and made to drift away from the group, "Are they really?" However, upon returning his gaze to Owle, he smiled rather fondly.
"And you," he nodded. He half-grinned at the young woman's oggling of Lenne's wings; sometimes she was just a treat to watch. Boy, it had seemed ages since he had gone out, so seeing both familiar and fresh faces was a nice reprieve.
