Kale shrugged at the first part of her sentence, "There isn't anything wrong with being weird, not that you are." He added, wincing at the thought that the mare would get offended. He followed after her as she trotted ahead, and he had to trot to keep up with her. They passed several trees and were coming up on running water, larger then a stream but smaller then a river. He slowed down, not wanting to splash all the way through and debated whether or not to pause and get a drink.

"Well, I'm positive my two-legger friend thinks I'm weird," Marina chuckled. "Oh! What a nice, cool, river!" she exclaimed. Cantering up to it, she saw that the path continued on the otherside. Also, there were some fairly large stone steps staggered across the river's width. Quickly pausing for a small sip of water, Marina gracefully put a limb on a stone, shakily placed her other fore-hoof on the next one, and not so gracefully...
...slipped on its slick surface and her legs went everywhere. First her right fore-hoof slipped off and into the clear water below, upsetting a cloud of sand. Her left hind-hoof, which was also on a stone, had also slipped, causing her to pinwheel on her left side, whose legs were in the air. Finally, she toppled over and splashed head first, causing a torrent of water to spray back and Kale. "Oyoyoyoyoy..." she said dizzily. Kale probabaly could see stars around her head.

Kale couldn't believe what had just happened, one mnute Marina had been about to get a drink of water and the next--not only was she now drenched in water but himself as well. And despite it all, the fact that he was now drenched and Marina was as well, and her expression. A chuckle escaped his mouth and then a another until he was full on laughing. He continued laughing until his sides hurt and finally, wiping his eyes with one of his forelegs, he looked at the blue mare. "Marina...I apologize but that was...funny!" He gasped, a smiled on his lips.

"Ororororo..." she moaned, shaking her head. Marina stood up slowly, and carefully walked over to Kale. "Ugh, my head hurts...and that was so not funny!" she fumed. To make her point, she shook her whole body, sending torrents of cold water at Kale. Laughing, she said, "Hahahah! Now thats funny!" Kale's braids hung heavy at his side and his face was so saturated with water.

Kale chuckled, the faintest traces of a smile gracing his lips, "Ah, but it was funny." He laughed, his deep voice rumbling. He shook himself as well, forcing much of the water from his coat, though his braids still dripped. He moved forward and took a drink from the water.
He raised his head and looked at her with a raised brow, "Do you usually act so clumsy though?" he asked, cocking his head, "I don't mean to be rude, I'd just like to know about an bodily injury I may acquire if I'm near you." He gave a lopsided grin, "Just in case." He backed up a few steps and leapt over the small stream, not even touching the water. He turned and looked back at her, eyes twinkling, "Are you coming?"

"Humph," Marina huffed with a playful pout. Since Kale shook too, she got splashed slightly as well. But the sun was high in the clear sky so they would dry off in no time.
"No...not really. I guess," she said. "At least, not frequently." Marina sighed, wondering why she was so clumsy. "Hey!" she whined. "That was just a one time only!" Clamping her eyes shut, Marina stuck out her tounge at him. She then laughed to show that it was only a joke. "Of course I'm coming!" she smiled brightly as she jumped across the river gracefully. "And why didn't I do that in the first place?" she groaned with remorse.

Kale smirked at her, "Are you sure about that?" He watched her leap over the water, "I, too, wonder why that didn't occur to you in the first place." He shrugged and began walking again, the path becoming more worn and clearly less used. Tree roots had began to weave their way across the dirt road, and leaves had begun to slowly rot into the ground at the edges of the path, indicating it's unuse. He swished his tail lazily as he walked, quietly wondering where this path lead, he faintly heard water, too fast to be a river but...with a shrug he continued on, perhaps it was his imagination...

"Heheh," she chuckled and grinned. "Hmm..." she thought out loud. "Why is the path changing...its dying..." she whispered softly. At the sound of some running water, her ears pricked up. "Um...Kale?" she neighed nervously. "Do you hear...that?"

Kale shook his head, "It's not dying. It just hasn't been tended for a while." He jerked his head toward the trees, which were quite healthy looking, their leaves only beginning to show the array of colors that announced the coming of autumn. He looked at her sideways, "So, you do hear it." He said simply, "I wonder what's ahead." He trotted forward, silently curious to see what it was.
He broke through the trees and stared at the sight. It was a grove, like a small meadow on the inside of a forest. A waterfall ran from one side, the source of the water running sounds. It even had a small pool, which bubbled merrily. It was a picture perfect place and Kale wondered why he hadn't found this place before. It was small enough to be cozy yet large enough that four or five soquili could live here in comfort and not be crowded.

Shortly after Kale had discovered the mystical grove, Marina stumbled shortly after. "Huh? Why'd you sto-" she started, but quickly cut off when she too saw the magnificent sight. "Sto-o-oh...wow..." she mumbled.
It certainly was a sight to see. The cool pool at the bottom of the waterfall looked nice and refreshing, as were the beautiful apple trees that adorns some corners of it. The whole place was covered by a dome, a dome of trees. For some reason, the trees bended cicularly and stretched their limbs to meet in the center, as they thinned out towards the top, bright sunlight flooded through the cracks. The grass was lush, soft, and emerald green. And beautiful wild flowers were scattered all around.
Breaking from the trance like state she was in, Marina slowly cantered over to the pool, taking a cautious but lengthy sip. "Hehe, didn't fall this time!" she giggled. Twirling around as a girl in a beautiful dress would, she ran around the length of it, twirling and running happily. Again, Marina said, "Wow! I can't believe I hadn't found this place the first time I came. The forest is so small, I can't believe this can fit! I mean, its small enough for me to circle it in a day! I hope nobody else finds it...I mean, I would like to bring my two-legger friend here, so I mean no Soquili or anything like that..." she flustered a bit.
Galloping over to an apple tree, she plucked an extraordinarily ripe one and brought it back to Kale. Taking a bite, she offered some to him while saying, "Wow! Its really delicious!" [A/N:While it in her mind was an act of friendship, she didn't know others did it to flirt. >>;;]

Kale raised a brow as he watched Marina canter throughout the clearing, she seemed immensly happy at discovering this and he shook his head, smiling, at her antics. So strange... He chuckled at her statement about falling, "Indeed you did not." He replied. He listened attentively as she rabbled on about hoping no soquili finding this place and made non-commital sounds.
When she galloped over the the tree and plucked an apple before returning, he expected her to eat it herself and then tell him how they tasted so he could try for his own. He was surprised at her offer and impulsively took the half she hadn't eaten, theirs noses brushing slightly. He drew back, surprised that they had touched and silently hoping she wouldn't look into the action too much, he wasn't ready for romance or anything like that. Chewing on the apple he finally swallowed and looked her it, "It is quite good. Thank you for sharing with me." He thanked her politely. He stepped farther into the groce, making his own slow inspection of the area. It was a nice place, he had to remember to come back here, he could be really comfortable here...

Marina cocked her head to the side, unsure of why Kale looked so startled. Shaking it off, she neighed happily, "Yes it is! If I haven't only had the apples that my two-legger gives me, I'd say that these are the best apples in the world! No problem. Even though I've checked and my two-legger friend and I are the only ones who live in this area, its not like we own the forest! And beside, these apples are too good to keep to myself!" She flustered a bit, trying to get her thoughts out.

Kale nodded as she began speaking rapidly again. Sometimes he thought that she acted a lot like Rainbow Chaser but other times she seemed seriously. Most of the time though, she was just a confusing mass of clumsiness. He was sure she tripped far more then she let on and it was amusing to see her fluster a bit. He shook his head, and stamped his hoof as he nipped at a few blades of grass. The day was warming and he silently debated whether or not to take a swim in the small pool of water. He decided to at least take a drink.

Marina chuckled nervously as Kale seemed to be amused at her ranting. Taking a light jog, she looked up at the sky and saw puffy clouds moving slowly over head. Wondering how long they had been traveling, Marina asked Kale, "Say Kale...What were you thinking when we met? You seemed to be deep in thought..."

Kale looked over at the blue female and let out a sigh, "Nothing important. Merely thinking of various thoughts. Meetings, things to do and the like." He shrugged, "And you?" An idea occured to him as she drew nearer, perhaps... As she stepped up beside him, next to the pool of water, he suddenly nudged her, hard enough to trip her into the water herself. He splashed in, a bit amused at how he had acted, these things were quite fun actually. He lowered his head to take another drink as he watched the blue mare, wondering if she would attempt something as well.
