Yeah, lets do it! twisted or at least we can make a fan-club, capture Desmond without any warning and put him on some kind of altar... lol
I used to have such crazy ideas in the times I was a yaoi fangirl 4laugh
and yeah, I'd also like more and more Desmond in Lost mrgreen heart

Raticiel Yes, brother... Desmond rules 4laugh heart but I didn't know That his full name is Desmond David Hume! Man, Locke, Hume... Rousseau... you know, I study philosophy (it's not like I want to show off with it, don't misunderstand me), and I have to learn about those people. But I don't think it has any deeper meaning that some of the characters are named like that. Hume's philosophy don't fit Desmond in my opinion... ninja From what I understand, Hume was a follower of Locke. This is what Desmond basically did in the season 2 final when we first learn his name. Well, until the end, anyway... stare

Also, and perhaps of more interest to Lost fans, Hume focussed on the problem of free will vs. determinism. This, of course, is the entire focus of our latest Descentric episode, "Flashes Before Your Eyes." It was Hume's view that free will is in fact incompatible with indeterminism. Imagine, Hume said, that your actions are not determined by what events came before. Then your actions are, it seems, completely random. Moreover, and most importantly for Hume, they are not determined by your character, and how can we hold someone responsible for an action that did not result from his character, an action which was entirely random. By this token, free will seems to require determinism, because otherwise, the agent and the action wouldn't be connected in the way required of freely chosen actions. So- think of "Flashes Before Your Eyes" in that context now- see what you think.
*ahem* I'm sorry for the philosophical rant... I'm something of an academic, as you see.

Under my point of view,desmond is one of the best characters on lost.
He has so sad and emotional moments and is an original character.
