Aion leapt back with a startled yelp when the young dog-boy spoke from the floor, he had barely poked his head into a room to explore it when the newcomer had made his presence known. trying hard to calm his nerves and sooth the tickle of fur bristling up his spine he turned to the young man. "Um....ah I uh...have no idea." he said hestitantly, glancing the black furred half-dog over apprehensively, why did this new arrival set his hackles up so badly? He was distinctly aggitated just standing in his presence, and for soemone who was unusually shy this new sensation was distinctively uncomfortable. With a wimper he slid behind Sabel. Wishing he weren't so much of a coward. His position changed dramatically however when a glimpse of something in the room across the hall sent his fur frizzing out in a remarkable imitation of a terrified cat. The small clacking sound which had caught his attention vanished from his mind when the carapaced...thing crossed his view from the hall. Without even knowing what he was doing or how he'd gotten there, he found himself crouching on all fours, fur a blazing black halo around him, with a deep growl issuing from his throat. Even with his teeth bared threateningly his tail was still tucked tightly underneath him in his terror.

Lune turns his head toward the deep sound, losing his balance and falling backward with a loud cracking sound in the process. He winces slightly, as much as his new face will allow such movement, and turns to look through a door and accross a hall and through another door and, finally, into the eyes of an obviously terrified wolf-man. The wolf-man's tail is tucked and his fur is bristling in an extremely pronounced manner. Lune rolls over, not liking the idea of laying on his back, and pushes himself up to stand on all six limbs. His body is close to the floor and his significant tail sways slightly as he finds his balance in this posture and then rests still in the manner of a scorpion, the stinger tucked back. His black carapace shines in the light and his dull blonde hair sits in a tousled mass on his head, almost comically. He twitches his mandibles, delicate and thin as they are, and tries to speak aloud. His first attempt comes out as a collection of clicks and airy whistles.

His second effort achieves greater success. "Shellso? Shyoo are... likesh meh?" The mandibles are obviously making speach more difficult.

His frustration is apparrant from his twitching and attempts to keep the mandibles out of the way. He finally decides to wait for a reply before attempting to speak again, standing there quiet and still on all six limbs. His gaze is directed straight into the eyes of the terrified wolf-man without fear or aggression in evidence.

OOC: I'm about to declare this topic legally dead, besides, it'd be easier if people only posted in the other one which is busier anyway. One less thread to keep track of.

(('TIS NOT DEAD!! I just was for a little itty-bitty while sweatdrop ))

Aion shivered voilently for a moment as he stared wide-eyed at the enormous and intensely annerving creature before him. It was several long moments before his rational mind began to work again, and when he finally convinced his newly overpowering instincts to calm down his jaw ached from being clenched so hard and he had to stretch all his limbs from having locked the joints. Still visably frightened he extended a tenative greeting to the being before him, which had yet to make a hostile movement. "likesh? uh....sorta? um....were you? ah...like that before?" He bit his lip in an effort to smother his nervous stuttering, "Y-you were human before right? M-me too! and her too...and ah...." The last syllable came out as a skweek, right before Aion retreated beside Sabel and curled up in an unhappy squat on the floor, His courage apparently had failed him.

((This thread SHALL NOT DIE!!!))

Lune cocks his head to one side as he listens. He shakes his head at the first stuttering question that the furry creature... Wolf?... asked and nods at the latter one, avoiding unnecessary speech. His one that makes his appearance even more frightening so he pushes himself up, placing his right 'hands' on the wall as he tries to rise to his feet with as much dignity as possible. He fails miserably.

Lune's grip on the wall slips and he falls onto his side with a loud crack. He suffers no injury but the look in his eyes shows that he would be blushing from both embarrassment and frustration at this point if his black carapace would allow such a reaction. He doesn't even move for a few moments, turning his attention back to those who are still relatively present... if scared silly.

"My... namesh... iss... Lune... I... shink..." Lune is still lying on his side, looking rather ridiculous and completely non-threatening. "I wassh shomeshing... elsh anywayssh. More... coordinated." His mouth shifts, probably attempting a smile... and failing.

As the scorpion-man struggled and stumbled in his ungainly form, Aion could not help but feel a heavy twinge of sympathy. His sore muzzle recalled all to clearly his own first attempts and manuevering his new body, and he had retained most of his ussual limbs! So before he could permitt himself to think too much on the matter, he rushed foreward to the fallen form of Lune and levered him to his numerous feet. His own paws slid and slithered on the metal floors as his own precarious balance threatened, but he managed to place the both of them in a standing position. It was only then that he truely realized what he had done, and the coward side of his mind snapped back into focus. He went cold as his paws still brushed against the dry carapace of this new aquaintance, and even as he stood next to Lune one of the Scorpion-like claws supported by Aion's shoulder, while the wolf-man's other 'paw' wrapped around what might have been Lune's waist. Aion began to shiver almost violently, feeling himself going hot and cold alternately as mindless terror rooted him to the spot and squelched any rational thoughts he may have been having.

Lune remains silent and gives what assistance he can to the wolf-man as he is, rather spontaniously, assisted to his feet. He is quite surprised, considering the earlier reaction that he had received, and removes himself from physical contact as soon as he feels the wolf tremble under his arm.

"Umsh... thankss." Lune quietly speaks while moving to rely on the wall and his own balance, in case the wolf wants to move farther away. "You... didn't really... need to... help me though... sss... I... don't get hurt ash much ash... before."

Lune's eyes dim slightly as a combination of factors become apparent to him. He was unable to really feel the wolf's touch... In addition to that... he only vaguely remembered a state of greater fragility. He unconsciously balances himself and sighs faintly, with a pronounced hissing sound. His mind seems to have started wandering, in search of something that it cannot find.

wandering through a white fog, pleasant and enclosed. all the young man wants is the peace he has,... as he walks plants and animals shift fuzzily through his view. he seems to recognise each one even though he can see none of them clearly. how strange. He thought idly to himself. he continued to walk, oddly at ease in his strange shifting world. the green of the plants seemed slowly to leach itself into the fog. The man thought this odd as well, but shrugged his shoulders and walked on. The cloying green fog continued to thicken, until it seemed to press against the mans skin, as his movements began to grow sluggish the man experienced the first pangs of alarm. He tried to move faster, in some vain attempt to escape this strange murky gas, but the harder he tried the slower he moved. He suddenly realized he was choking, gasping and wheezing. It occured to him this might be a dream! He clutched vaughly at this thought until his throat grew raw with the spasms. Panicking now he struggled mindlessly at the oppresive fog. Just when he was convinced of his certain death, the fog gave way to his efforts, and he fell. He fell and fell and continued falling until with a painful jarring his eyes snapped open.

Glancing around bewilderedly the man realized that it had been something of a dream. The "fog" was nothing more than a faint greenish tinge to the lighting in the room, the choking seemed to have been inspired by an unpleasant but unlethal smell. and his fall,... The man levered himself up stiffly from the hard metal floor. Glancing behind him at the remains of the capsule he'd forced his way free from. He blinked once or twice, wondering why he'd been encased in such a bizzare creation. With a gusty sigh he dropped his head into his hands, massaging at his temples with delicate furred fingers. . . . . Furred? Suddenly his eyes snapped back open, gazing in horror at the white and black silky fur which coated his hands. slender needle claws tipped each digit in place of nails, and as his eyes explored his new body he discovered that the same phenomenon extended to his feet. a long nimble brush tail flickered nervously behind him, and small tuffted ears twitched to analyze the soft sound his fur made against the pristine metal surfaces. Well this dream is almost weirder than the first. He commented wryly to himself, though his throbbing head and sides denied that possibility.

OOC: Hmm, well the reason i was suggesting to close it was merely that it would be a LOT easier to keep to just one thread...i have a pretty complicated storyline plotted out...Also i've found i really AM terrified of scorpions. See I live in the mojave desert, i've come across many types of creatures. Stray dogs and Mojave green rattle snakes don't really bother me much. I'm fearless around dogs and the rattler was really small and still in torpor from the early morning, it even slithered away from me after i found it (i feel so sad that it got killed, i think we should have just re-released him somewhere further from people, he was just a tiny baby). But the other day while i was watering and left a hose filling a bucket of dog water. Well i came back to find that the bucket wasn't the only thing that had overflowed, there was a little series of burrows on the ground completely full of water. Just as i wondered what had lived in it i noticed the about four inch long yellow green scorpion on the wall. Normally i would have just fled the area as quickly as possible, but my puppy laid down right below the spot where the scorpion rested. I couldn't leave my puppy to the risk of injury so i managed to catch it in an old red vines container (the big tub-type) and put it in the old play house. THe rset of the day i was trembling badly and shudders raced down my spine. The next morning i had the completely irrational fear i would step on another one(we hardly find scorpions actually, the one i caught was the first i've seen in over a year).

Sabel remains backed against the opposite wall fur on end. After a few stammers she manages. "I'm...Sabel...hi." She queaks, shivering badly, though her rational mind is trying desperately to acknowledge him decently she couldn't quite get over her overwhelming fear of the insect man. "S-s-orry... rachniphobic...." she murmurs in explaination, shivering again.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2005 8:16 pm

Aion glanced at Sabel, his breathing deepening to a more normal level now that he was no longer in physical contact with the Arachnid-man. When his heartbeat finally slowed and he trusted himself to be able to speak without to much hysteria flooding his tone he questioned Sabel, "Arachniphobic? Really??" He glanced at the scorpion again and although the sight of the huge carapaced creature sent shivers up his spine his terror dimmed considerably in light of Sabel's uncontrolled phobia. "He said he wouldn't hurt us." Aion responded, for some reason he had the perverse desire to defend the same being which had terrified him out of his newly grown fur. Turning to Lune he posed yet another question. "You wouldn't happen to remember anything before the point in time where you awoke in one of those weird capsules would you? Any idea where we should go?" Aion really wasn't sure how Sabel would feel about his unspoken invitation for Lune to join their group. But he felt an immense pity for a person who awoke in so very alien a form. And if there were others on this ship with altered forms, they might be more hostile than frightened. A thought which caused Aion's blood to run cold, while his mind whimpered fearfully.

Lune stands silently for several long moments, blinking occasionally. He reaches up and runs carapaced fingers through the dark blonde mop of hair on his head and hisses faintly. He is obviously trying to remember and having some difficulty.

"No..." Lune's speach is getting much better with practice and concentration. "I don't remember anything but... fragments of images, shardss of ssound." He seems slightly frustrated but has shown that he is rather even tempered.

Lune pauses for several more moments. He is clearly distressed by Sabel's arachniphobia and is trying to think of a way around it. Is there a way to give her a back door... a way of thinking that will help?

"I might look like a shcorpion but I only have sixsh legs. That would mean that I'm an inssecht." Lune's voice conveys his desire to help her quite clearly. He is also obviously finding his body very difficult to control in an upright position. His povements seem stilted and awkward as he tries again to stand without support from the wall. He succeeds in standing straight without support and hisses through his mandibles with satisfaction.

Sabel glances up at her companions, struggling to control what she knows to be an irrational fear. She wants to make up for her behavior but can't seem to overcome the terror at his appearence. When he points out his diference in leg numbers Sabel stares blankly for a moment and then collapses in hysterical giggles. After she finally regains some measure of control over herself, she manages. "Just keeps telling Jokes or something...meanwhile, i think i'll have to stay against this wall...sorry...psychosis are hard to deal with."

((Mind if I pop in?))

Played By: TwilightKiwi
Name: Thomas
Species: Dire Bear
Appearance: As a bear, Thomas is much more imposing than he seems to recall being previously. His fur is long, shaggy and dark brown, with lighter patches around his eyes. His hair seems to be merely an exention of his fur around his scalp, almost a mane. His massive, broad shoulders are capped by a rather large hump, and his torso is almost imporportionately large compared to his legs, with arms that would be too long on a human ending in huge, clawed paws. He is capable of standing upright without too much distress, but when trying to cover any significant distance is more comfortable on all fours.
Skills and Abilities: Packed tight with muscle, Thomas is posibly the largest and most physically enhanced of those who have been transformed. His incredibly thick skin is capable of resisting all types of damage. Though his bulk may lead others to assume he lacks speed, his reflexes are good... and if he has time to build up speed... well, basically imagine a locomotive trying to run you down. Ponderous, but unstoppable...
Like true bears, his appetite is matched only by his need for sleep. However, these may be traits carried over from before he forgot himself. His senses are really no more or less acute than before, though his sense of smell is much more accurate, if not really stronger.

((*breaks into uncontrollable laughter* And here I was just telling Furry that we didn''t have to worry about bears roaring and scaring the fur off our characters. *chuckles*
Yeah you can pop in Kiwi, the more the merrier! or crazier,...I forget which. And if you don''t understand the above comment then let me enlighten you.
We have two versions of this RP. One here, and one in my PlayCha guild. The later has a few more characters as you can post without being a member of the guild. It also sports a ''Bear'' who just awakened, roared, and sent Sabel and Aion tearing down the cooridor in fright. *snicker* I think this is hillarious! I''d love for you to be a bear Kiwi.))

Aion glanced at the wall in question. and then as an Idea struck him he willed his ears to lay flat on his head and tucked his tail once again, shrinking away from the wall Sabel leaned against. "I dunno," He said pitching his voice a tone higher than normal, "What if the wall opens and....and...A DINOSAUR-MAN jumps out!" He cried seeming to shiver in fear. While in reality he was stiffling laughter. He then decided he was not a very humorous sort of person,... *more stiffled laughter* because that was pathetic even to his own ears.

((Since the whole "waking up and suddenly transforming" spiel is probably getting a bit repetitive by now, I've decided Thomas has already been conscious for a while; part of that first group of people that woke up, got slaughtered, and retreated to the forest. Is that alright?))

"I imagine such a hybrid would have even more trouble maneuvering around these corridors than the rest of us," a surprisingly deep voice came from further down the hall, gruff but lacking malice. Then a massive, shag-furred beast came around the corner, its head nearly scraping the ceiling, and it was instantly apparent what stock this man's animal traits had been drawn from. A friendly grin was made less so by a huge maw of dagger teeth, beneath a large, scrunched black nose and two proportionately small brown eyes that nevertheless still held the glint of intelligence. 6-inch-long sickle-like claws extended from massive ham-hands, while those on smaller feet clacked against the cold metal floor in a practiced gait that seemed significantly more sure and balanced than the others had experienced so far. "Four of you... is there anyone else around here? I'd prefer not to have to explian more than once..."

((Thomas is just going to tell the others what he knows so far - that this tranformation is happening to everyone, and that they are not alone... by the way, are we aware that it's a ship in space we're in, and not just some building somewhere?))
