Orah laughed as she finished her turn around the tree, her ears perked as she flicked her tail behind her. Unaware of his rather ungraceful stop, she bucked up, kicking out her heels just to work off some of her excitement.
Her face bright with her smile as she bent to the apples, the mare munched happily at the windfall. The juice exploded on her tongue, flooding her mouth with the delicious flavor. Orah focused her attention on the apples for now, filling her empty belly with the crunch fruit.

Maverick smiled as he watched Orah eat the apples.
"They are quite tasty, aren't they?" asked Maverick with a slight smile. Maverick continued to chew on the apple, eating what was left of the delicious fruit. Ah, there wasn't much that Maverick enjoyed more than this. Eating delicious apples on a day with wonderful weather with a new friend. It seemed like an ideal moment for one to have in a day.
"Tell me about your two-legger, what is she like?" asked Maverick curiously.

Orah smiled brightly as she nodded, swallowing her bite of apple before she spoke. "They're lovely, Maverick! Thanks for showing them to me." Her head tilted as he asked after her girl, braided tail swishing against her back legs.
"Well... Her name is Bluefire, because she had a dream one night. That dream is what has us traveling like this. We're searching for a creature made of blue flames. Every time Blue has a dream about it, we pack up and move to a different place. I guess we're following her dreams, but it just seems random to me." She smiled and bent to nudge a few apples around with her nose.
"Blue is a half breed like I am. Her mother was a native woman, but her father was white. Its why her skin and hair are so much paler than the others in the villages. Its also what drew her to me. She's kinda like a kindred spirit." Another small smile slipped free as she glanced shyly up at the stallion, rather hoping he wouldn't laugh at her as some others had.

Maverick smiled at what Orah had said. Bluefire sounded quite interesting. Whiteman...hrm, are those the pale faces that once came to the lands? They are quite intimidating and put awful straps and heavy objects on Soquili. It was a terrible sight.
"Creature made of blue flames?" asked Maverick. "That sounds quite interesting. I have once met a Soquili whose hooves were made of blue flames, but not her entire body. She was quite strange looking for a Soquili, but was a descendant of a zebra, just like ourselves."
Maverick paused, unsure of what to say.
"Well, I hope that Bluefire doesn't have another dream about it, I wouldn't want to see you leave," said Maverick with a kind and warm smile.

Suddenly overcome with shyness, the ducked her head and smiled, feathers fluttering up against her neck with the motion. "I wouldn't want to leave either... at least, not so soon. We just arrived, and we're both tired and hungry and sore. Hopefully we can spend at least a week here, before the dream call us to move on again." Orah's tone was a little whistful, her chocolate eyes focused on the apple she began nibbling just to have something to do.
"Mmm... maybe I should meet this mare. Maybe she's the one Blue sees... If she is, then Blue's quest would be done and maybe... we wouldn't have to leave!" Jerking her head up as her eyes took on a new shine, the little zorse danced in place, whickering excitedly. "Maverick, promise me you'll take me to meet her, ok?"

"I promise I will have you meet this mare," said Maverick. Oh, he hoped he would be able to find her again, it shouldn't be too hard. A mare like Kimi, blue with flaming hooves, should not be too hard to spot in a herd of Soquili. "I would hate to see you leave, it has been so long I have met smebody that I could connect with in the same way that I do with you."
"Perhaps you can bring Blue along as well, to confirm if this is the creature she has in her dreams," said Maverick with a hopeful smile.

The little mare smiled shyly as she nodded, pacing slowly closer to the stallion. Gingerly, she brushed her soft nose against his shoulder. Nothing more than a featherlight touch, it was more than she'd dared to do with another horse in a long time. "Thank you, Maverick... It means a lot to me."
Her voice was soft and full of emotion. Oh, to be done with traveling! It was her and her girl's fondest dream. To find the end of their quest, and settle down in happiness. And it was almost in their reach.

"Anytime," said Maverick with a proud smile. It felt good helping others, especially helping a friend, such as Orah. "Perhaps we should set a date for us to meet again. I will bring Kimi and you can bring along Blue. We will allow the two of them to meet. I should be able to find Kimi before the next full moon."
Maverick gave a nod to Orah.

Orah grinned as she shiffled her hooves, tossing her head in delight.
"How about tomarrow?" The mare asked brightly, swishing her tail as she danced. "Sooner is better, right? I'm so excited... Would you mind if I go find my girl, Maverick?" By this time she had danced a small curcle around the zorse stallion, coming back to stand infront of it.
"It was really nice to meet you, and I'm really glad we did."

Tomorrow? Oh, that was quite soon. Maverick may not be able to find Kimi by then, but he did not feel like disappointing Orah. If he waited too long, it may be too late for them to meet. Maverick must try hard to find Kimi.
"Tomorrow it is," said Maverick with a nod, trying not to show any sign of inconfidence. "Sure, I will start looking for Kimi while you go find Blue. We will meet here tomorrow. I will wait until your arrival, and hope you will do the same for me."
Maverick smiled at Orah.

Laughed as she tossed her head and pawed the ground with one small hoof, her dark eyes lighting with joy. "That sounds fantastic! Oh, I'm so excited..." She blew hair through her nose in a happy little snort, whirling on her hocks back towards where she'd left her girl.
"I'll see you tomarrow, Maverick!" She called back over her shoulder, her tail swishing behind her as she bucked. Full of good spirits and rejuvenated after her long journey, the mare took off in a little puff of dust, her hooves drumming the ground as she raced towards the woods and the clearing somewhere inside. Oh, there was so much to celebrate now. An end to the journey and the new friend she'd made today.
A bright neigh followed after her, striped form sailing smoothly over the grass and dirt.

The Next Day...
------ Maverick trotted over to the apple tree that he had taken Orah to only yesterday. Maverick could not stop thinking about their meeting and their plan to unite her two-legger with a Soquili, Kimi.
Oh, it had taken Maverick so long to find Kimi, but after a long tiring search, he managed to locate her. She was rather suprised when he did find her, she was asleep in her home. Maverick was going to wait for her to wake, but didn't have the patience so woke her himself.
Maverick looked around, waiting for Orah and Blue's arrival to the tree excitingly.Kimi stood by Maverick under the apple tree, yawning. She was quite tired. She hadn't gotten much sleep that night, Maverick had woken her up early in the morning. Kimi was happy to see Maverick, but also pretty shocked to see him again.
What am I doing here? she thought, confused. Maverick had explained that she needed to come with him to meet someone, but left out a lot of the details. Skeptical, Kimi still came along out of curiosity. Kimi sighed, hoping whoever it was she had to meet would arrive soon.

Blue let Orah pick her way through the trees, enjoying the sunny day and the chance to relax a little. After so much traveling, they'd finally come to this place, and she'd spent yesterday setting up the camp. Beyond cooking, she really didn't have anything else to do today. A short ride with her horse was just perfect.
The girl let Orah wander as she wished, though it seemed that her zorse companion was intent on a particular direction. They soon burst into a clearing, the sun falling full on them. Blue grinned as she stretched, lifting her face to the light. She was a good deal lighter of skin and hair than was usual for a native american, but then, she was only half. Her eyes were also blue, making her stand out even more among her mother's people.
Orah grinned to herself as she trotted along, glad that her girl had given her free reign to go where she wished. It let her take them back to the clearing and the apple tree where, hopefully, Maverick was waiting with his friend. Tossing her head, the little mare danced as she moved, hardly noticing the rope around her face, the blanket on her back, or the slight weight of the girl. It was something she'd long gotten used to.

Maverick and Kimi exchanged looks as they watched Orah approach them, quite confused about the way the two-legger sat on her. Kimi didn't seem as weirded out as Maverick was, perhaps because she was more comfortable with two-leggers than he was; but he knew that right now he had to be trusting of them, or else he could lose seeing Orah again.
It was so silly, he had only met Orah, but she was already a close friend of his, possibly due to that he has very few friends to start with. Maverick gave a light smile to Orah and then motioned his head to direct her attention to Kimi, hoping that she will be the creature of Orah's two-legger's dreams.
"What's goin' on, Maverick?" asked Kimi, curiously confused. She looked at Maverick, then at the other mare, then at the two-legger, giving each a strange look. Some of it, Kimi was able to put together herself. Obviously Maverick and this mare knew each other, they seemed to have a friendly relationship at least. But what she didn't understand is what she had to do with all of this. She then turned to the mare, realizing that she forgot to introduce herself, if Maverick hadn't done so already. "I am Kimi, by the way. What's going on here?"

A familiar brown form met the mare's chocolate eyes and she tossed her head happily, letting out a loud neigh of greeting. Picking up her pace, she trotted quickly towards her friend and the strange mare, her tail brushing her backlegs as she moved. Hmm... the mare was very pretty, and were those blue flames around her hooves...?
Hope swelled in Orah's chest as she trotted faster, coming to a halt near the pair. Maybe this was really the one Blue had been looking for!
Blue looked up in suprise at Orah's reaction, her eyes widening at the pair of horses that stood by a large apple tree. "Oh, my... now I see why you were so frisky today, luv." The girl said softly to her mare, patting her neck as she let her carry them towards the pair. That stallion was quite handsome, and if she wasn't mistaken, was a zorse just like her own little mare. It made the half-breed girl happy to know her horse had found a friend like her.
The mare drew her eyes, and she stared at her, blue eyes wide in her tanned face. She was the most marvelous blue color... and those flames! What kind of a horse was this? Throwing a leg over her mare's neck, she slowly slid to the stand in the grass, resting one hand on Orah's neck.
"Maverick!" Orah nickered happily, her small ears perked forward. "You came! Its so good to see you again... this is the friend you mentioned?" She smiled at Kimi as she nodded her head in greeting. "Hello, Kimi, I'm Orah. I, um, just wanted you to meet my girl, Bluefire. Its kind of a long story, but she's been looking for a creature of blue flames, and when I mentioned it to Maverick, he thought of you... So we wanted you two to meet..."
