actually the dead baby child will make me feel sad. I have some weird connection to children, and when ever i see them starving,dying or being made into soup. I get sick to my stomach.

I'd be more sad about a human baby! People have a concious that makes them higher than animals. Of course, at the point where we're babies we're really not much higher than animals. But if you think of it this way, that the human baby could have been you, then it's kind of different, isn't it? Wouldn't you think of yourself as higer than the... baby lemur?
Lemurs... that reminds me of that cool kids show... with the lemur... who says... and I was leaping along... leap, leap, leap... Ugh...

Isn't that a matter of opinion? Sure a rabbit can't do Pre-Calculus, but neither can half three-fourths of this guild! Shamans and native Americans always thought of animals as equals. Sure they can't do all the things that we can, but they can out do us in a multitude of tasks. Spiritually, they are suposed to be more intuned with the Earth, the God and Godess, and the combined consciousness. There are many things they are aware of, that we lost as a species, many years ago (and I'm not talking about gills).
You're saying we're "higher" than animals? No, we're just different.

I agree that we are different, and that we have a mind that is blessed with the freedom and fortune to think about and analyze what he experience. But I don't think that alone makes our species more deserving of life than any other. If the death of a human infant for the death of the infant of another species upsets you more, then that's perfectly natural - we have an instinctual inclination toward members of our own species, but that doesn't mean that such preference is universally correct, of course.
In fact, with the human species rabidly over-populating the planet, consuming resources, and directly leading the mass extinction, I think we really do need less babies. Much less. We have enough for now, so let's try to find them some homes.

i think that babies only appeal to my sad side because i have a terrrible fear and unreasonable hatred for all monkeys.

I get sad whenever people die, doesn't matter age.
But in movies I get sad when the animal dies more than
the human...
