Emyrus looked down at the man with a quirked brow. Well... He wasn't really a man, was he? Certainly didn't seem like he went through puberty. A boy, then. The thought busied his mind through the awkward silence, only for it to be wiped away by the too-fast, too-strong reply from Fidel. The boy might as well have been shouting as a blush spread across his face. If he was a woman, Emyrus knew, he would probably find him adorable, maybe even someone to like, or worse, love. But it wasn't possible. He looked too much like a boy.

Though, playing the part of the homosexual might actually be amusing right now.... Emyrus' mind smiled at the thought. Amusing indeed.

Emyrus extended his hand, wrapping his fingers elegantly around Fidel's chin, lifting it slightly as he took a step closer. He found that he thought his actions were both hilarious and repulsive all at the same time. Ah, well. Couldn't always be pleasant.

"Why do you seem so flustered, Fidel? I'd very much like for this to be my business..." Emyrus purred seductively at the little boy, all repulsion dissipating.

Yes, it was unfortunate that Fidel was male. He would almost definitely love the boy if he was female.

[I just want it known that this was HILARIOUS to write. >DDDD]

The brown haired subordinate felt his cheeks take on a deeper, more intense shade of pink as Emyrus’s long fingers held his chin gently, a sudden, severe ripple of rapture flowing through his body and soul...Fidel’s mind began to panic, but his soul retorted.

Tell him! It would give away everything you’ve been striving for. He needs to know! It’ll be the end of it all.

Then end it.

“Alright, fine! I’m…not exactly male.” A beat. Then another. Fidel allowed her sapphire eyes to close and wait for a reprimand, a harsh slap, or distorted words to overcome her.

Or worse.

The cross dresser had been hiding since she was 12, all for the purpose of hiding from Lord Evanescere, the sexist, and his son. Lord Vash always seemed to be awkward around women (for reasons Fidel wasn’t quite sure of) but constantly treated them kindly and very rarely raised his voice with them.

But the young girl didn’t wish to make the noble feel uncomfortable whenever she was around, and decided it would be best to use one of her abilities to alter her appearance ever so slightly to make herself look like a young, feminine boy. And it had deceived all those around her for 9 complete years.

Nine.

And now Emyrus knew, and Fidel flinched after the thought, expectant for a beating. Not even Lord Evanescere knew.

The cross dresser had been caught.

((Edit: YES. FINALLY. FEMALESSS = Fidel *cackles and runs away*))

The sudden confession from Fidel made his eyes shoot wide. His hand withdrew, covering his mouth in utter shock as he turned away. A deep pink colour sprung to his cheeks. Only a moment ago, he was thinking he'd love Fidel if he was female. Turned out that he was a she. His heart began to flutter, soul bouncing around in his chest, as if to say, "I told you so~! I told you so~! You LOVE her, Emyrus~! Love, love, love, love~! And here we thought the day would never come, right~?" His lime eyes were still wide with shock.

No. Way. I am NOT in love with her! Shut it! It's not goddamn true! Panic waved through his veins as he tried to deny the obvious.

Emyrus Gratia was in love with Fidel Jalen.

Fidel opened her eyes as soon as the bliss from her soul connection was withdrawn with Emyrus's hand. Was he waiting for the perfect time to whip around and hit her?

The cross dresser furrowed her slender eyebrows and stared in confusion as the lime eyed liar turned away and covered his mouth with his hand. What was this man honestly doing?

"E..myrus?" the girl said, her tone laced with curiousity and confusion. The subordinate closed her sapphire eyes. There was no point in concealing her true self anymore, was there?

Flipping brown locks cascaded well past petite shoulders, shocking eyes widened, and a slight curve was added to her small frame, which had been lowered about an inch or two.

Fidel opened her eyes, an eyebrow quirked as she took one step forward and shifted her weight to one foot to look at Emyrus inquisitively.

A sudden, pure emotion emitted off of his soul. It could be compared to the one she knew, except not as distorted and mangled and suffocating. There weren't many emotions she was unfamiliar with, only due to the fact that she knew how to tweak and twist them in the most pleasant of ways, so the one Fidel felt coming from the liar's soul piqued her interest.

Her small hand reached out and tugged lightly at the dark haired man's sleeve curiously.

Really now, did her gender affect Emyrus that much? How ridiculous.

“Did you, somehow, manage to forget how much I loathe the term “street rat”? Or maybe you forgot that I was one,” For some odd reason, Halycon just couldn’t force the venom out of his tone. It wasn’t like he had sympathy for the person that died, oh heavens no, but it was more the fact his wonderful little imagination had changed the scene to read something completely twisted. His stomach turned, anger dropping if only slightly. Perhaps it was Vash’s tone or something. The blonde couldn’t set his finger to it.

A voice from behind him called out. His stomach was still fluttering with butterflies, and all sort of logic that said he needed composure was still shattered and lay in splinters on the ground. Emyrus made a sudden, swift attempt to gather those piece and glue them together.

Your a liar, Emyrus, through and through. Always have been; you know that. Don't you dare let your hand slip and open that Pandora's Box with your emotions inside. They'll only attack you and strangle this. We've been through this before, and the results were disastrous. Remember that. The thoughts pelled through his mind within second as he took a deep breath and lowered his hand, only to feel a tug on his sleeve. When he turned around, the same mocking smile that always danced on his lips was replaced by a curious expression as he looked her up and down.

"Well, I suppose you could look worse..." Emyrus muttered, intention of annoying the now even shorter Fidel displayed for the world to see.

Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. Patience is--

One, two, three. With three swift movements, the petite girl's fists had clenched and plunged towards the man's face.

"--a waste of my time!" she said angrily, glaring up at the insensitive jerk in front of her. Fidel stifled a short sigh, prepared to punch him again if need be. Three punches just didn't do justice to the liar, now did it?

An odd sensation tingled inside her soul, one that wasn't too pleasing. The subordinate paused for a moment, a frown on her lips.

Fire still sizzled inside, and she was hoping that it wasn't going to be fed anymore than it had been. That is, if Emyrus decided not to.

And the odds of that were...? Fidel shook her head.

Painfully slim.

The noble only stopped briefly before composing himself. Ah, that was the problem, then.

"Yes, of course I remembered." he replied placidly, hoping that it wouldn't cause for an explosion, whining, or worse...pouting. Vash cringed inside, knowing very well that if he didn't sooth the boy, it would end up in all of the said outcomes. He closed his eyes, image of Halycon appearing in the crimson room inside his mind as he walked towards him.

"Besides, that was only a soul I needed to collect in order to bring you back into your body, whether the host lived on the streets or not." Vash said calmly, bringing a slender hand up and placing it upon the boy's head.

The lack of the euphoric soul connection made him frown slightly, renewing his reason as to why it was so imperative that he stole 5 more souls.

... Should have expected that. Really should have expected that.

Emyrus tumbled back and crashed to the floor. Why did such a short woman have the ability to do that. Many answers came to mind, though none were pleasing, so he shoved them aside as he sat up on his elbows, fingers touching below his nose lightly.

It was sticky, wet, and smelled coppery.

Emyrus felt his soul cyringe at two facts: one, his nose was bleeding period, and two, Fidel was with him while it was bleeding. Normally, a cut or even gash could be nursed in solitude, yet with her with him? There was no leaving.

"Was it really necessary to hit me so hard?" the liar grumbled, feeling the flood drip from his nose with nothing near him to ease the flow.

The placid tone of Vash's voice caused a new bubble of anger within the dead-looking white-blonde. Yet, Halycon couldn't deny the surge of relief and joy as the image of the emerald-eyed-man constructed itself in front of him. Yet, of course, it was immediately wiped away by the ever-persistant rage.

Halycon ducked out from Vash's hand, clearly not satisfied with the answer offered. He folded his arms over his chest, extra folds of cloth hanging limply. There was no point in staying where he was anyway; the normal, rippling feeling of jubilance was missing.

"And that's supposed to excuse what you said? I don't want you to steal their souls, anyway!" Halycon scowled. "My life isn't worth any more than theirs, and how things are fulfills your obsession, doesn't it? Why are you complaining in the first place?" He asked gently with a somber tone.

The first bomb blew, then the smoke fanned.

A slap in the face. Vash turned away.

A memory fluttered through his mind, visible to them both. It was a flash back of when Emyrus had taken Halycon, who had completely forgotten him, away. Not only was the emerald eyed noble told to go away by the younger boy, but Halycon was clinging to the lying b*****d like...

The images faded, Vash refusing to look at the blonde. His soul was silent, refusing to even twitch. The noble stared blankly at the wall before clearing his throat and speaking quietly.

"My obsession doesn't matter anymore, love."

The thought of Emyrus again flashed through his mind, this time causing his soul to hiss with unadulterated envy. Didn't Halycon understand?

Staying inside his mind meant no more bliss from their souls, nothing to lift them when they're suffocating, no comfort in seeing him physically, no more memories of the boy grinning ear to ear when he walking into his room after a long day...Simply nothing.

Halycon was the only one he had, and he was losing him, too.

"Of course it was, you--" she cut off, very close to calling him an a**. Fidel's sapphire eyes locked onto the thick, crimson liquid pouring from the man's nose, her face suddenly softening. Something in her soul urged her to step forward with a sigh.

Perhaps that was a tad hard-- But wait, Emyrus had completely insulted her, and taunted her before by....

Fidel shoved the liar's actions from before in the very back of her mind, stepping into her bathroom and coming out with a fresh box of tissues. The subordinate stifled another sigh.

"Here." The box was set by his side as well as a disposal can.

"It's your fault, you know." Fidel muttered stubbornly, taking a seat beside him. She recalled the first time she had gotten a bloody nose, in which case the boy who gave it to her went home with a black eye and would probably never have children ever again.

Halycon cringed on his feet as he watched the memories of when he had lost his memories. His soul began whining softly, pleading quietly for the images that caused them both so much pain to just fly away. The boy's stick-like arms fell to his sides, eyes dropping to the floor. Then, thank the lord, the images faded. Dismay lifted his eyes lightly, to look at Vash's back just as he began speaking.

Halycon winced again as the images flashed, then only bit his lip. He knew perfectly well that if he was locked in Vash's mind, near all the good things simply faded. Yet... yet it was better for both of them, wasn't it? As much as he loathed admitting it, there was no other answer than yes.

No dependence, no hurt, no tears.

Halycon smiled a soft, wry smile. This was almost the same thing Vash had tried years before, wasn't it? Different circumstances, different actions, same thoughts and philosophy.

Understand rang like a crystal bell in his mind as he stood silently, no answer offered.

Emyrus simply stared at her, watching the emotions play on her face, accompanied by the feelings that echoed to his own soul. Rage, sympathy, caring. The emotions didn't exactly make sense, he realized just as she stepped into the other room, presumably a bathroom, and came out with tissues and can, which were set next to him. Emyrus sat up all the way, taking a tissue and mopping up some of the scarlet liquid below his nose, the entire job taking two tissues before he could hold one at the end of his nose, simply waiting for it to stop bleeding.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I should have ducked," Emyrus said jokingly, though it came out as more of a grumble. The atmosphere in the room had definitely sunken. The liar scowled.

Looking up, Fidel stared straight back at Emyrus with a slight frown. A girlish one, at that. She had loosened due to the fact that secrecy was no longer needed, and the scowl the liar had flashed at her simply made her do the same. The subordinate also resisted the urge to stick her tongue out, but that was only because maturity was needed in her position...well for the most part.

"No, you shouldn't have been an a** in the first place." the girl replied, still staring and scowling at the man.

There was an unsure feeling in her soul, most likely because the best liar in Pendant had discovered one of her more imperative of secrets. The thought caused the scowl on her lips to grow and avert her eyes from him. She was risking her whole point of living since age 12. What if Emyrus told Lord Vash just to get back at her for punching him? Or worse, what if Lord Evanescere found out that Emyrus's nose had been bleeding? Panic weaved its way into her soul, making it tense and her heart to beat faster.

How long until the liar sitting next to her finally be tortured into telling the truth?

She was quite aware that both father and son would be more than pleased to follow through with drastic measures of torture, and the thought made her stomach turn.

Torture seemed like it ran as a talent in the Purgier family.
