Okay, I saw it. I'm not critic, but here goes....(since everyone is begging for a review)
I liked it. It centers around a young girl named Sofie who works in a hat shop. The story starts at a time when a few unidentified countries are on the brink of war. Several of the openiong scenes depict parades and launching of battleships. there are, however, a few outside forces of interest; the Great Wizard Howl and the Witch of the Waste. Early in the story, the Witch of the Waste casts a curse on Sofie, turning her into an old woman. Embarassed to be seen by her family as an ugly old lady, Sofie runs away in search of a cure. And (surprise surprise) she meets Howl in his moving castle. Saying any more would ruin the movie. wink I though it was great. The music was excellent and appropriate to the scenes it was in. The animation and art was smooth and well done. (as expected from a mastermind like Miyazaki.) And, although it was a family movie, Miyazaki managed to work in some potent messages, as usual. All in all, worth the money. 3 1/2 out of 5.

True. Indicates that it is little above average. From what I've seen, I'd say a 4 out of 5 just on pics and trailers. Yet we'll see.

On my personal scale, 5 is changed my life and 1 is made my brain explode. 2 is average, 3 is great, and 4 obsession. I'm not obsessed with it, but it was definately great, hence; 3 1/2.

No, I haven't, but I do so want to...I read a review in the paper and I wish I had the DVD...My parents weren't really interested in going, and I couldn't get to a theatre....darn overpriced tickets!

It's really annoying to have to bring $20 just to get some snacks and tickets at the movies with your friends, espeecially when you're buying the $4 sodas...
