Glancing behind her towards whatever distracted Nehands, Karma smiled and waved towards Wyv and Makai before she too turned back to her original discussion. "Really? That'd be great if I could. Then whenever we stop by Ar'Idil I could run over to my cabin to get ready." She grinned, "I wouldn't want the kids to miss out on any treat-collecting opporotunities."
Faust giggled at Cerise's antics and grinned at Nehanda, and tried out the new name. "Cer-Cerise!" He smiled. This pronunciation thing was getting easier each time. "S'okay!" He added. "She be.. She be..." Faust thought for a moment, trying to remember what the word was, before continuing. "She be funny!" Turning back to Cerise, the child reached his hand out and gave the gryphon a scratch on her head. She would like that, right? He had always liked that as a gryphon, and so he assumed that it would be much the same for Cerise.

Cerise drew in a breath and prepared to hiss at this stranger's audacity. How dare he touch her . . . but oh . . . wait . . . that was the really good spot. Right . . . there. Eyes narrowed in case he tried anything else, she cautiously stretched her neck out to allow him better access.
Nehanda looked down at the gryphon in surprise. "Wow, she really likes that. You hit her favorite spot. Good for you, Faust!" She decided not to mention that the last person who'd attempted an unsolicited scratch had ended up with claw scratches.
Instead, she giggled at the half relaxed, half suspicious look on Cerise's face. Looking over at Wyvern and Makai, her eyes rounded. Had she met that kid as a gryphon? What fantastic hair!

At Nehanda's announcement, Makai turned to Wyv. "Ha," he said. "An' you worried we gonna be late." He crossed his arms and did a fair imitation of a pout. He wasn't upset, not really. He just would have enjoyed a little more time to pose and flex in the mirror. He really liked his costume. And maybe another chance to steal a roll for TPing. Ah well.
Wyvern returned Karma's wave with one of her own and drifted over, admiring the decorations as she went. Makai, for his part, wandered over towards Faust and Cerise. Adult talk tended to be boring. Besides, he wanted to know what Faust was for Howl-o-ween.
Noting Nehanda's stare (was that really the same kid she'd met on the island meeting what seemed so long a go?) Wyv laughed. "That feather look familiar?" Sure enough, dangling from beneath his goggles, Makai still wore Nehanda's feather. His shell necklace was also in attendance, but only as bumps beneath his shirt.

Faust grinned, and let his hand scratch a little bit farther down -now that her neck was extended. Glancing up at Nehanda, the child wasn't sure how he could express his sentiments verbally, and so instead, he raised his free hand in a 'thumbs-up', a smile plastered on his face. This was the first time that he had been in the same place with so many people, and the child was thorougly enjoying it.
Before the child returned his attention to Cerise, however, he noticed Makai, and waved to the forthcoming Aerandir. "Hi!" Letting his hand land on the floor after waving, Faust studied the shiny metal that this new Aerandir was dressed in. That was his costume, right? Karma had told him about a few different costumes when he was choosing his, but he hadn't learned about this one. Curiosity piqued, the child wondered what Makai's costume was.
Karma gave a nod towards Wyv, acknowledging her wave, and beginning to introduce herself. What use was being around so many people if you never got to know them? "Hi, I'm Karma."

((As a heads up, I'm going to be playing Xennik's characters Tayte and David because he can't be here today. ))
Along the beach connecting Cetalu and Ar'Idil came what was possibly the strangest group seen.
At its head came a skinny little girl with flamingo-pink hair, bedecked in the fluttering, pearly garb of a phantom. A fire staff was strapped to her back, and a lantern dangled from her fingers, glowing with a ghostly blue flame. At current, she seemed to be in a remarkably good mood...perhaps it was because it was the flame-mage's first time handling a lit lamp.
The second member of the group was hardly visible from a distance, boasting only all of five inches of size to her name. She was sitting on the first girl's shoulder, crooning happily to herself. Her miniscule witch hat was slightly askew on her head of wild violet hair, and she held what looked like a tiny bird egg that had been painted to look like a jack-o-lantern.
Behind these two followed an aerandir boy. He was short, especially compared to Kalarune, but this was more than made up for by the bubble of arrogance that encompassed him. His presence was acented by the fact that he was the noisiest of the bunch, tooting away at a wooden flute Progolo had carved for him. At his waist, the coins of his his snake-charmer costume tinkled noisly with ever step he took. Doris had originally planned to dress Tayte up as a ninja, but the ermine-bird-of-paradise would not stand to have so much of his lovely body concealed.
And, lastly, there came...
Dennis the Duck?
David, without a shred of reserve, had decided firmly that he would be nothing else for halloween besides his favorite character from Playtime with Rosa....nevermind that he was about twenty-six years old. His grinning, goateed face protruded from Dennis the Duck's gaping beak, beneath the character's huge, misty glasses. The cartoon had gone off the air ten years ago, but he still had a special place in the bizarre young man's heart.
"Hey, kids, wait up!" he called, waddling after the three with great difficulty due to his giant flat feet. "I'm your leader!"
"Y-you're a slow...ow...leader," Kala smiled, swinging her lamp.
"Walking with duck feet's an art, Missy," he sniffed. "Watch this now--Oh Baby!"
With that, he grit his teeth and waddle-ran as fast as he could down the beach until he had past the other three, whooping and laughing. "You got nothin' on Dennis, man, nothin'! Last one to that big building is a rotten egg!"
Competetive nature thus kindled, Kala, too took off after the absurd-looking man, laughing. The fairy, called Yaraif, kept pace easily with her delicate golden wings buzzing madly.
Tayte, large (Gorgeous!) wings a burden, was last.
As he arrived at the door of the lodge, huffing loudly, his breathing gave way to frantic sobs. "I DON' WANN BE TH' ROTTEN EGG!" he wailed angrily. Kala flinched, Yaraif muttered under her breath, and David scratched his hooded head apologetically.
"Awwww...c'mon Xat-man...I didn't...c'mon you're not a rotten egg. You're a...snake charmer, remember?" he said quickly as he waved his ridiculously winged arms, trying desperately to calm his 'nephew' down. "We're gonna get some candy really soon, remember?"
"CANDY!" Yaraif burst suddenly, her voice squeaking with excitement.
"That's the spirit!" David nodded emphatically. "'Kay Xat-man? No crying on Halloween!"
Tayte's small shoulders trembled as his temper-tantrum subsided. Kala sidled next to him and squeezed his hand. "No crying-ing..." she echoed softly.
David sighed, glad that storm had passed. Shaking his head with relief, he opened the lodge door and swept into the building.
"Happy Halloween, Dudes!" he called loudly, not at all shy. The two aerandir children and miniscule Kun-kun sidled in after him, eyes eagerly scanning the room.

((Since Fae's around now . . .))
"Welcome!" Nehanda greeted the new group with a bright giggle. She looked up and checked the clock. "I think it's about time to head out. I'm Nehanda, for those who haven't met me, and I guess I'm in charge of this thing tonight." Looking over at the various Aerandir guardians, she grinned. "Feel free to tag along with us. This is gonna be fun!"
She almost skipped on her way, where she swung it open and held it for everyone. Acia, she noticed, had vanished into the back of the Centre. Not too surprising, what with the humans here. "Fae's house is that way, and we'll meet Pueblo and Pie there." She pointed, eyes glinting with excitement and ivory wings flaring. "Let's go!"
Annoyed that Nehanda's movement had taken her away from the wonderful scratching, Cerise croaaked and flapped her wings wildly, forcing her big sister to let her go. She flew back to land lightly on Faust's shoulder. She picked up several strands of his hair in her beak, and held on hard. She wanted to go with the not-annoying person!

David scooted out of the way as Nehanda came towards the door, a bit shocked to see a teenage aerandir. But before he could say anything in the way of introduction, she'd declared it was time to go.
"Guess we made it just in time, guys!" he chirped, catching a brief whiff of the snacks on the table. If Xat-man hadn't spent so much time preening...
Ah well!
"Shall we?" he grinned at his charges. Well, technically Progolo had put Kala in Yaraif's charge, but...well. Putting a kid in the care of a five inch fairy who couldn't even speak English was just absurd.
And David wrote the book on absurd.
He swiveled around in his giant duck suit, knocking something over with his protruding avian backside as he did so. "C'mon, kids, let's go!"

Zen was peering through the curtains as he suddenly shouted, "Dey coming!" Throwing the curtains close, he bounced off the couch and ran over to Pueblo with his arms held in the air. "Cos'ume, pleez," he grinned, his yellow eyes wide.
Pueblo giggled and grabbed a small sheet off the couch. "Put your arms down, silly. Only your ears go through slits." The large Aerandir bent over and threw the short sheet over Zen's head.
Zen let his arms drop to his sides as he wiggled his ears through the holes. Peering through two holes cut for his eyes, he leaped suddenly from Pueblo's fixing and ran around the house. "WOoooOOoooOO! Imma goul!"
Fae had entered the room now with a large bowl of candy, doging the wild child and setting it near the door. "Zen, don't go crazy tonight, okay? Pueblo's going to be with you anyway." She smirked as the Aerandir child suddenly stopped and looked up.
"Whad are youz and Pueblo amyways?" he questioned.
"I'm a human! Can't you tell?" Pueblo grinned, showing off her jeans (with of course a hole for her tail), sandals, and tank top.
"No cuz hyoomans don't hab wings!" he giggled and ran behind her, tugging lightly at her wings.
The older Aerandir frowned. "Well I thought it was more clever than being a dead bride," she joked.
"Hmph!" Fae expressed, sticking her tongue out and sharply turning away, her shreaded skirt following her momvement. She listened through the door, waiting for the group to knock, ready with the bowl of candy next to her.
((Whoops- I edited the last part.))

Feeling somehow special, Faust beamed as Cerise jumped on his shoulder, and gave her another scratch on her head. "We go now. C'mon!" Faust said, directing it towards Makai and anyone else in earshot. Grabbing hold of his cape, the 'vampire' Aerandir darted towards the door. That was when he noticed the new people, and the two other fellow Aerandir children. Running towards the two, he began to walk along side them, giving a smile and wave before his did so. "What you be fo 'Allo-een?" he asked, curious about the jingling pants and the lantern.
As the large group approached the first house, Faust pulled out a shiny red bag. Karma had explained that one should have a bag to store their collected candy in.
Karma followed the large group as well, though kept to the back of it, behind the Aerandir.

Xat-man, upon seeing the antlered boy, darted at once to the other side of Kala. He was far too important to be in the presence of someone who wasn't nearly as pretty as he. Kala, on the other hand, was almost more forward than one would expect; she clasped Faust's hands at once, grinning. "Aamha!" she smiled down at him. The little entity on her shoulder jumped up and fluttered up to Kala's elongated ears.
"Ene kiesp 'aamha,' saa kun-kun! Kiesp 'ello!" Yaraif whispered quickly in a foreign language. Kala's brow furrowed, and she tried again.
"'Ello," she remedied, as she'd been directed. "I K-Kalarune-une. This-is teln Tayte!" her language was oddly fractured...for one, she didn't quite know the difference between Kunkunese and English, and she had a terrible stutter.
Tayte sighed at her slowness. "Her name is Kalarune, an' she's a phaaaantom. The little bug is Yauf, an' she's a wiiiitch. An' I'm Tayte...an' I have th' best costume ever."
Kala looked a bit defeated. Yaraif patted her cheek and burbled kindly.

Faust's crimson eyes watched as the white Aerandir zipped away from him. "Weird." The child thought to himself before shaking it off and immediately smiling while he energetically shook Kala's hands. To him it didn't seem too forward, he just thought it was being nice and 'friend-ily-full' -or some strange word like that.
Though, as the furst word came out of the girl's mouth, Faust blinked and looked at Kalarune and the Yaraif strangely. "Aamha?" He thought, "Whazzat mean?" Unsure of what to say, the child simply smiled and nodded. Once the translation came from both Kala and Tayte, however, Faust immediatley grinned and responded. "'Ello Kalarune n' Tayte n'Yauf! I'm Faust n' thiss Cerise!" The child pointed towards the fluffy red gryphon on his shoulder. He smiled and looked at their costumes once more. "Your cos'tums look real cool! I'mma vaaampiiire!" Faust grinned, bearing his plastic pointy teeth, and spun in a quick circle to show off his cape. Quickly looking at Cerise, Faust made sure that she was okay. He looked at Tayte's costume once more, trying to put a name to it. "But, what's your costume?"

Tayte scoffed. "Imma snake-charmer!" he declared as if this was most obvious. "Look! I can use this flute to make snakes do whatever I wan'!" To indicate his superiority, he stuck the wooden instrument in his mouth and played the first few notes of a classic Arabic tune Kala's keeper had taught him. Much to his dimay, he got stuck on the seventh note.
Rubbing salt in the wound, Yaraif tutted and sang the rest of the song in a soft, childish, yet beautiful voice. Kala's ears flickered and her tail waved a bit, slightly cheered, but she could feel her diminuitive aerandir friend on the verge of another fit.
Grumpy, Tayte just pocketed the flute and sulked.
"Hi, Cerise," Kala said. "Saa pretty...y...name. She reached out to the parrot-cat cautiously.
At that moment, David, always the dignified adult, tore past the children, grabbing Tayte's hand as he did so. "C'mon, Xat-man, it's candy time buddy! Hurry up, slow pokes!" Tayte squawked but allowed himself to be dragged to Fae's door, where David knocked loudly. "You ready for this? You ready for this?" he asked the boy excitedly, hopping from one flat foot to the other. Tayte, suddenly riled up with candy-lust, preened his wings frantically.
Kala didn't get her hand close enough to Cerise to touch her, instead, she put it back down and took Faust's hand again. "Ya wann' r-run to th' door w-with me...e?" she asked, the athlete within her gleaming in the light of her ghoulish lantern.
Yaraif, who desperately wanted to fly to the door, remained responsibly poised on the girl's shoulder...but she tapped Kala's ear in impatience.

Nehanda hd to laugh as the children ran on ahead. "Their costumes are so good! I couldn't come up with anything interesting, so Foenix decided I'd be a wood nymph," she confessed to Wyv and Karma. "I wasn't allowed out without a costume. She threw on a green dress and stuck a bunch of flowers in my hair."
As they arrived at Fae's house, she stepped up onto the porch and knocked on the door. "Candy, here we come!" she cried gaily.
As Faust spun around, Cerise jumped up into the air. She hovered in the air, and squawked a bit at Tayte's flute playing. Most of it was nice . . . Wait, were they talking about candy? Eating stuffs? Quickly, she darted on ahead, to where Nehanda had pointed. Maybe the Winged Person was good for something after all. She found the right house, and hovered in front of the door, hovering over Nehanda's head and croaaking loudly.

"Music!" Makai cheered, hurrying to catch up with the group. That chased away some of his shyness. And a flute too! He had a recorder, but not a flute. Wyv's musical knowledge pretty much ceased with the harmonica. Then the flutterby seated on Kala's shoulder sang, and oh, how she sang. Makai was in love. He followed after Kala, nervousness returning in full. Lance gripped in one hand, Jack-O-Lantern shaped bucket in the other both clenched in whitening knuckles.
Wyv laughed at Nehanda's comment. "Well, I think you put more effort in to your costume than I did into mine." The horns and wings were made of light metal, welded together in a rush job and attached with visible ties and clasps. The tail was made of chain, with only a partial armature to give it some curve and clanged along as she walked. "I had help with Makai's outfit. He's a dragon rider." She grinned fiercely, and continued, "I'm the dragon." Her eyes were lit with glee as if that statement had some secret meaning known only to her.
As they approached the house, Wyv caught her charge's eye and made little shooing motions with her hands. the message was clear: Go on, relax, have fun. He could do that. Afterall, look how much fun he'd had when he met Gael! And there were three other children. That could be three times as much fun.
Makai didn't quite reclaim all of his aplomb, but he tried. "Now we say 'Trickertreat?'" He shifted from one foot to the other in nervousness, waiting for the door to open.

Kala looked over her shoulder as she heard the sounds of padded feet treading over the sand behind her. Her face lit up at the sight of another little boy. A Tayte-sized boy, nonetheless! "Rrun with ero-o to th' door?" she invited with a sunny smile, offering the other hand.
