Kids walk to school by themselves. My cousin who is 6 walks from his house in Itabashiku (ward) to some school 20 minutes away. =/
It's quite different.

Which is why I'm guessing it was such a shock when that elementary student in Kagoshima was found dead last year, it just never happens. cry gonk
Oh yeah that's right. I remember reading an article in a magazine about a mother letting her five year old son go to school for the first time. He had to ride the train by himself for thirty minutes and then walk five minutes to school. I couldn't imagine having to do that alone when I was five but then again Atlanta and Japan are very different and he also had his school friends with him.

I read an article that said that Japan being safer was a lie and that people steal bikes and things all the time.

I can't show the article right now since the comp that has the link is broke.

ALthough he also said Japan was gonna take over America through buisiness so maybe he was a bit biased. Although it was an oficial study.

oh, yes it is true, japanese cannot hold firearms. This is mainly the reason why a stereotype is that "all americans have guns" sweatdrop

sorry sweatdrop

neutral Personally, I'm really fed up with the gun law. We Americans really do love our guns. That stereotype may actually be a correct one. I know like half my school are like 'Hey! I got a (insert random gun type here) the other day!'

I have no idea what they're talking about most of the time. I've never fired a gun in my life.

No one I know likes guns that much, or even owns one. Where do you live? o_o

Haha, in the boonies. That explain much?

thats obvious, its not like we are going to be perfect. besides, did you know that a staggering 96% of the accused are found guilty (in japan it works like this: guilt until proven not)

some people think that police being allowed to beat convicts is "bad".
i think good, teach them something.

And how does it make him biased if he says japan will lead in economy?

frankly, i dont see what constitutes as your definition of biased, especially if this guy said the crime is worse 3nodding 4laugh .

lol. Japan is supaa safe and clean. On a side note. There use to be a Japanese show on tv here called "Old Enough" or something or other. Where they videotape 3-5 year old kids venture on their own for the first time running errands for their parents, like buying diapers, or dinner, or taking something forgotten to their parents across town. It's funny in a bad way, but still funny. Kids are smart. ^^
