With Nita MacNeal and Miller Milano
Where Are We Again?

Miller Milano
After a day of arangeing his duplex and calling in to the labs asking about furniture Miller finally decided to take some time to venture outside his new home and see what sights this island had. Before he went he stoped upstairs at Shenzi's room knocking on the door.

"Hey Shenzi! Come on! It's me Miller!" He cotninued to knock wondering if she was even in at the time.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi was lying on her double bed, sorting through magazines and posters; she had already gotten her vast array of clothes put away in the closet an dresser, and her cleanly stuff into the bathroom. When she heard the knock on the door, she shrugged to herself, hopping off the bed carefully to avoid ripping or wrinkling the posters, and went to open the door.

She opened the door right as he started to raise his voice, a lopsided grin on his face. "I may like loud speakers, but I'm not deaf." Shenzi stepped forward, shutting her door behind her; she was wearing casual clothes again, like yesterday. "Guess you want to look around then?"

Miller Milano
He grinned and shrugged his shoulder. "Nah, people say I'm loud all the time, they say it's because I'm half deaf from listeing to my ipod all the time." He stepped back makeing room for her to get out nodding at her assumption about wanting to get out and see the island.

"Well I really don't have anything better to do. No ones called me up about any testing with medication so I figured I might as well enjoy the day. Not to mention I finished unpacking for the most part." He started towards the stairs and turned back to her. "Any idea where we should head first?"

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi started down the sidewalk, shrugging slightly in response. "Eh, where ever they keep the food? Gotta know where that is, first and foremost." She said, grinning over her shoulder at him, her hands stuffed in her pockets.

Miller Milano
Miller nodded in agreement, food was deffinetly a priority. He stoped though. Sabin never told them where to find a cafateria. "Umm one problem. We have no idea where to go?" He started after shenzi again catching up looking around for a sign or something pointing them in the right direction. "All there seem's to be around here are the duplex's for other patients."

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi raised an eyebrow appraisingly. "You've got feet, havn't you? We can just walk around till we bump into a wall or something." She said, smirking slightly.

Miller Milano
Miller rolled his eyes at the obvious statement. "Feel fre to walk in to walls, I'll take the door." He looked around again pointing to rather large building. "Maybe it's that one way over there?" He started to walk by and leaned over ever so casually and plucked her hat again before running on ahead with a grin. "Com'on! Your walking to slow!"

Shenzi Thompson
"Hey!" When he grabbed her hat, she vainly tried to jump for it, before running after him. "Heey, that's mine dammit!" She jogged after him, her hair flouncing behind her; she had taken it down from the braids last night, so it was in loose, bright blue waves.

She stopped as they approached the building, looking around for a door before finally locating it. Poking her head in, she grinned. "Cafeteria."

Miller Milano
Miller peeked in behind Shenzi leaning over top her, that hat now on his head with a grin. "Well you didn't get your hat back, but you did find us lunch right?" He strolled on in with out furthuer question. All that mattered now was food.

After a breif moment of trying to select a meal he finally settled on a simple turkey sandwhich and a coke. He wasn't all that hungery though he just assumed it was part of the shot he was given earlier. He sat down and waited for Shenzi to join him. "So tell me something, Dr. Sabin was telling you not to smoke, is that what your here for?"

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi trailed after him, picking up a tray and loading with with a root beer and a chicken sandwhich. "Mm, true. I still want my hat back, loser." She said, rolling her eyes with a grin as she sat down next to him. "Yeah. Chain smoker, drugs, booze, just general city s**t. And you're here for what?" Shenzi eyed him; she didn't mind questions in the least.

Miller Milano
Miller grinned takeing a bite of his sandwhich before responding, "If you want the hat you gota get it first. As for why I'm here it's something I'm not exactly proud of. I was on vacation in the Carabieans against my parents better judgment who said I should be in collage. Well the money for the trip was the cash for collage. I ended up spending it all and as a result got my self in a bit of debt."

He sighed, "So I got desperate and took up a job for medical testing here. No idea what it would really entail other then some shots maybe a few pills and stuff like that. Didn't expect the place to be a rehab clinic at the same time."

Shenzi Thompson
She snorted into the bite of sandwhich she was about to take. "Welcome to life, hlupak." She laughed, taking a sip of her rootbeer. "You do know medical testing patients get insanely ******** up after a few months, right?"

Miller Milano
He nodded takeing another bite in his sandwhich focuseing on it for a moment as he thought over what she said about becomeing messed up on the medication. "I actually didn't know anything about it... I just signed up. I needed money, badly for that matter." He looked up and shrugged with a lopsided grin of his own, "Well, when that time come's I'll just check in to rehab with you?"

Miller Milano
Miller leaned over the table makeing a face reaching over to flick her nose. "Hey, I think I can handle it!" He leaned back in his seat smirking. "My question to you then: Can you handle rehab? No more smokeing, and binge drinking?"

Shenzi Thompson
She raised a dark eyebrow. "Really. Have you ever been in one then?" She asked mockingly, a small, twisted grin on her lips.

To his response, Shenzi made a face, sticking her tongue out while batting his hand away. "I've been in it before, I can handle it. Just not when crotchety white haired doctors take away my light." She said, accompanying it with rolling her eyes.

Miller Milano
He shook his head, "Nope, never. It's the first and hopefully last medical study I ever have to do in my life. I would have never done this if I hadn't spent all my money."

He pulled his hand back sticking his tongue back out. "Well your on the island for rehab so he kinda has the rights to take away said light in the first place. Besides that stuffs disgusting any way."

Shenzi Thompson
She rolled her eyes. "What's so disgusting about it? You can get rid of the smell; certain brands add scents. Personally, I like strawberry. And it doesn't have to taste like ash; other brands put flavor strips on the ends, so when you lick your lips it tastes like fruit." She said, shrugging simply. "So it's not so bad; it's the cheap brands that taste and smell nasty."

Miller Milano
Miller shook his head, "Fact of the matter still is no matter how sweet it taste or smells it's still a smoke, and it's nasty." He took another bite of his sandwhich. "Beyond all of that your a nice person." He took the hat off his head now tossing it back to her. "I just don't like somkeing all that much."

Shenzi Thompson
She couldn't help but laugh and shrug. "Eh. Some people like it, others don't; where I live, most people my age smoke or do something worse."

At the second comment, Shenzi let out another loud laugh. "Best keep that line of thought!" She said, catching her hat and tugging it down over her ears as she grinned at him.

Miller Milano
"Alot of people do that at a young age, I still think it's bad." He got up now walking to Shenzi's side of the table giveing her a hug and a small noogie on the head. "Look, just promise me please, you'll try and lay off that crap? I knew a few people who got started and it didn't go over to well..."

Nita MacNeal
Nita wandered into the cafeteria after a morning spent making minute alterations to her Halloween costume. Her fingers were sore and her stomach empty. Filling her plate with a substantial portion of bamboo leaves and shoots, the red panda girl looked around for a place to sit. A couple of kids about her brother's age caught her eye. Fully human... would they already have been 'initiated'? Only one way to find out.

She walked over and turned a chair around so her tail could hang down, a smile on her muzzle. "Hey, you guys new here?" Nita asked, quirking a brow at them.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi was about to respond to Miller, when a weird looking woman came and sat down, a smile on her... Nose? No. She was covered in fur, and had a tail and everything. Looked like a red panda.

Raising her eyebrows, Shenzi looked at her top to bottom; fur everywhere. Definately good detail for a costume. "Great costume, but I do believe Halloween is in a few days."

Miller Milano
Miller's eyes widdened slightly, Nita was behind him at the moment, so to him it sounded like Shenzi was makeing remarks about him! "Hey what the hell do you mean costume!?" He started to turn around to walk away and stoped mid step stareing at Nita.

His mind suddenly stopped functioning. Slowly as functions came back his time skimming the internet and forums brought up one word to connect with the fur covered girl. "Furry?" Sure he had seen a few at Otakon, but damn this was by far the strangest thing ever.

Nita MacNeal
Shenzi's comment caught her off-guard for a minute, since Nita had, in fact, just been working on her Halloween costume. And then the realization hit her; she resisted the urge to smack her forehead. She would just keep running into the newbies. Maybe some good would come of this at least, she thought, remembering her project.

"Technically," she told Miller, not quite aware of the undertones of his question. Ignoring the stares, Nita dug into her plate of bamboo. "It's not a costume, though."

Shenzi Thompson
She shrugged to herself at the girl's response; so she wanted to be modest. Alright. "I'm Kamila, by the way. Friends call me Shenzi, though." She said, extending her arm over the table with a warm smile.

"And this doofus is Miller. Ignore the dazed and confused face." Shenzi grinned crookedly at him, prodding him in the ribs with her elbow.

Miller Milano
Miller shook his head about rubbing his eyes a few times just to make sure he wasn't loseing his mind. Maybe it was the shot? No it couldn't Shenzi saw it too.

"No technically, Furry... you know people in cous-" he stoped, not a costume? He shook his head again massageing his temples trying to sort through whats going on. Some furry girl was claiming that her fur wasn't real. Shenzi knew it was a costume too, or it was all just one bad dream.

"What the hell is going on... I thought this was medical center and some rehab place and now this? It's starting to feel more like a fricken anime convention..."

Nita MacNeal
Rehab? Anime convention? Oh Jesus. And Shenzi? Well, whatever.

"Nice to meet you," Nita said. "I'm Nita. And believe me, if you think I look weird..." She shook her head, trying to make a joke of it. "And, well, I guess you could call this place a med center..." The red panda girl shrugged, hesitating. Yet again, she was about to thrust the realities of the island upon a couple of unsuspecting kids. Goddamn.

Nita MacNeal
Nita would have responded quite politely to Shenzi, had Miller not started yelling. And then he tugged on her fur.

"Dammit, that hurt!" Nita yelling, leaping to her feet. Before she could think exactly what she was doing, the girl smacked Miller across the face. The chair fell sideways with a clatter. She retreated back a few feet, breathing heavily, her tail puffed out with alarm.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi's eyes widened at the series of events, and while Miller was still reacting to the slap, and Nita was standing there bristling, she laughed.

She couldn't help it, it was just too funny. "Miller, that was one of the stupidest things I've seen you do in twenty-four hours..." Shenzi said between breaths.

Miller Milano
Miller stood between the two girls mind stumbleing about trying to sort things out again. She looked weird? There were more!? What the hell is going on? He looked to Shenzi again, "How can you two be talking like this? She's dressed up like a fricken panda CLAIMING it's REAL!"

As if he could prove Nita wrong he stomped over leaning close to her inspecting the furr before giveing it a tug on both her cheeks and finding it was rather secure on her face. "You've got to be kidding me..." his face went slightly pale, "What in God's name did they put me on for testing..."

Nita MacNeal
Nita glared, hands placed defiantly on her hips. "I am real. The fur's real, the tail's real, and I wouldn't suggest tugging on that either!" She righted her chair and sat back down in a huff, pointedly eating her meal.

"Now. Are you guys gonna let me explain, or just stand there with your chins on the floor?" The red panda girl wasn't usually quite this cranky when it came to explaining the situation, but then, most people didn't start yelling and then tug on her fur.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi clamped a hand over Miller's mouth, giving him a look. "Shut up, before you get yourself six feet under, alright?" She gave him a small grin. "Most guys don't know when to be quiet, so don't feel too bad." She nudged him in the side, letting her hand drop. "Explain away."

Miller Milano
Miller continued to sit still on the floor as Shenzi clamped a hand over his mouth. Why did women always have to be so quick to team up on guys? He made sure however that before Shenzi let go that he got a tiny n** on one of her fingers as payment for all the pokes. "Fine... explain... because I'm not sure whats going on and to be quite honest I'm freaked out right now."

Nita MacNeal
"Understandable," Nita said, giving Miller the tiniest of apologetic smiles. "Basically... this is a place for medical testing, but it's not exactly what they'd have told you. Everyone in the village here, in the duplexes... we're all being injected with serums based on a different animal's DNA. Everyone was tricked here somehow, told different stories, but the truth is, they're turning us into animals." She stopped and watched both of them with a neutral expression on her face. She knew full well it was a difficult story to swallow, but there she was. Proof.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi looked quite skeptical, resting her chin on her hand, and her elbow on the table. "And how do they manage to do this without authorities knowing, if they've tricked so many people into coming here?" None of it made sense; there's no way a human can turn into an animal. It wasn't physically possible, not in the least. The girl was wearing a really good costume, and obviously liked to roleplay, since she seemed very into what she was saying. Or maybe she was just a really good actor, trying to play a prank on them as a "welcoming" thing.

Miller Milano
Miller shook his head and took a moment to set his seat up again before sitting down. "This just dosn't make sense... they didn't tell me really what that serum was... this has to be a side effect... really strange dreams."

He turned to Shenzi nodding in agreement with her statement about the law not knowing. "She's right, they can't hide something like this even if it was real. This would be bigger then all that stem cell stuff people are fighting over."

Nita MacNeal
Nita shrugged. "Money. And if people do start to suspect something, they end up here. I've been here for six months, and a lot of people have been here longer."

She sighed, shaking her head. "Look, there's nothing in it for me to be lying to you. Miller already yanked on my damn fur anyway." One ear flicked in annoyance, a movement far too controlled and natural to be part of a costume.

Shenzi Thompson
She shrugged again, unsure of quite what to say. "Stuff can be glued on. I've done it before. Though the ears are very good." Shenzi watched the movement appreciatively. "Didn't know you could get robotic stuff on costumes, only ever seen them in movies."

Miller Milano
Miller moaned quietly to him self this was all one really bad dream. Yet he couldn't deny the slap to his face. Or the feeling of the fur when he grabbed it. "Nita... right? So your telling us that where all going to turn in to animals then?" He shook his head running a hand through his mess of hair thinking everything over again and again. "I need... I need to speak with Dr. Sabin..."

Nita MacNeal
Nita sighed softly. So they didn't believe her. Of course, she'd never had to tell two people at once; it was easier for them to cling to their fragile hopes. Easier for them to convince each other that the girl in front of them was trying to fool them, wearing a ridiculously elaborate costume.

"You know what? Fine. Don't believe me. Think it's a damn costume. But you'll see for yourselves in the next few weeks. You'll talk to other people who're more changed than I am, and you'll change into whatever the labs have in store for you."

She stood up rather crankily and gathered up her plate, which was mostly empty. "But if you ever want to have someone explain things to you when you're in the mood to listen, look me up. Nita MacNeal, duplex 42."

Muttering under her breath, the red panda girl stalked off. She put together a box of snacks for later, and, without a second glance, exited the cafeteria. If the two teenagers watched her, they would see her tail obviously protruding from her pants, an extension of her spine. Not a costume.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi couldn't get a word in before the girl, Nita, left. Not that she knew what to say anyways, but still. She sent Miller a glance, before standing up with her tray. "Well then, I think I'll go back to my room. Crazily animal obsessed girls seem a little bit much for the first day..." She grinned sheepishly.

Miller Milano
Miller sat still in his seat as Nita stormed right by him, he did notice the tail, yet it didn't register completly. Instead he was slowly bounceing between beliveing or not beliveing. Very slowly he stood up looking to Shenzi, "I don't know... this is just... it's weird..." he shuffled after Shenzi.

"I need to get some sleep... I'll see you latter or something..." He made his way to the duplex some of the last words Nita said ringing in his head, But you'll see for yourselves in the next few weeks.

Halloween Party

Chubbs MacKraken
Nothing... nada... Chubbs was almost glad that nobody had noticed him enter, but then again, could they tell who it was? Chubbs took a big sniff and noticed the food table and licked his muzzle, it surely looked good.

Making his way over, he looked about the room, smiling at the pretty cool costumes and how amusing some of them were, but the dog in the roman outfit sure took the cake. He slung his big mock knife onto his shoulder and looked at all the food. Chubbs was glad he left some room under his helmet to get food under it, and drink, with a straw. Grabbing up a few chunks of meat, Chubbs pushed them under his helm and gobbled them up in seconds.

Shenzi Thompson
(List isn't updated yet, but this is her costume, going as a phoenix)

Shenzi approached the large halloween styled tent with a sure step, the feathers attached to her hips bobbing gently in the breeze, and with each step. She figured she wouldn't know any of the people there; the only people she had met been Miller, Dr. Duvert and a girl named Nita who seemed to like her halloween costume so much that she wore it before the event.

Sighing to herself, she let that train of thought slip; she had tried to get Miller to come with her, but he had locked his door and stolidly refused to come with. Screw that, then. Setting her shoulders back, she let a small smile creep on her face as she entered the large tent, immediatly being assailed by noise; music, people talking, laughter, and everything else. Tucking a strand of hair behind an ear, she wove her way through the people, towards the food tables, careful to not let her tail feathers catch on anything, lest they come out.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs didn't turn around, just like he used to be at parties. he'd stick to one place and hide there. He nticed he was getting a little carried away on the food, and decided to calm down for a bit and grab a drink. Just as he was about to turn and go, he nearly bumped into someone to his side, his helmet made it hard to see things clearly.

" Woa!.. sorry, didn't see you there"

She had a nice costume on, really pretty feathery dress, and by the looks of things, no changes, but he could have been wrong.

" That's a nice costume"

Chubbs couldn't believe his voice had changed, it was like a deeper, darker, gruffer version of darth vader. It was rather creepy.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi was knocked off balance as a large man bumped her; she hated her height sometimes. Brushing herself off, she looked up at him with a small smile. "No worries. And thanks. Your's is good too, but what is it?" She couldn't help but ask; he had a weird helmet on, not to mention his arms were covered in fur, with long nails on his fingers.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs grabbed a cup as best he could in his hand, the claws were annoying, and putting his knife down, awkwardly poured a drink and held it out to the girl in the cool dress.

" Umm if ya haven't seen Silent hill or played it, this costume will go riiiight over ya head"

Chubbs made the motion of his hand flying over his head.

Shenzi Thompson
She laughed, accepting the cup from him with a grin. "Heard of it, never played it though. My band-mate is the gamer." Shenzi said, laughing. "And I'm Kamila, though I prefer Shenzi." She held her free hand out to him, a smile still lighting her face as her bright hair curled around her face.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs poured himself a drink and made sure to grab a straw, he could at least still suck. God that sounded bad even in his head. When Shenzi laughed, Chubbs couldn't help but grin, it'd been a while since he'd seen someone happy. With the offered hand, Chubbs gently took it in his own and shook it, trying not to get the claws in the way.

" David, but I prefer Chubbs myself"

He wondered how she would react to that one.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi raised an eyebrow, taking a sip from her cup. His hand had rough calluses on the palm and fingers, and the claws felt cold, and sharp definately. "Mm, mind if I ask where Chubbs comes from?" She asked, leaning against the table, while being careful her feathers didn't get in the food.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled a little at her reaction, with the raised brow, it was a classic look. He'd gotten it before when he introduced himself many times under that name. Chubbs looked down at himself and realised he wasn't so... chunky like he used to be, so perhaps the name was a little confusing. Good thing though the name came from two things.

" The name? yeah umm I used to always want to be a bouncer, and in high school they called me Chubbs as it's the name of a major security company"

Chubbs let got of Shenzi's hand and poked his straw under his helmet to take a sip.

Shenzi Thompson
She let out a laugh, though it would probably be hard to hear over the music and other voices. "Makes sense, then." Shenzi said, grinning still as she reached over to get a plate, filling it with some food; small slices of chicken and steak mostly. "Mmm, havn't seen food this good in ages." She said; her mouth was almost watering. Her mother could cook well enough, but her food, compared to this, fell way short.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs grinned brightly, this little feathered girl was rather cute and fun to be around. He thought he might actually enjoy the night yet. Sipping again and then chuckling with he, he noticed the food when she mentioned it and he knew he wanted more.

" Yeah, I know what you mean. I doubt there'll be left overs"

Chubbs stabbed a couple of cocktail weiners with a claw and popped them into his mouth, snacking happily.

Shenzi Thompson
She grinned at him again, jabbing small pieces with her fork and chewing contendedly on them, armed with her plate of food in one hand, and her fork in another. "That's a good thing; I'd hate to see this go to waist." She said, still laughing; she could hear the song change, to a song from Rocky Picture Horror Show. She couldn't help it; she started hopping, sort of, in time to the music.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chewed happily, he bet he looked like Paddington bear eating under his helmet. The spread was good, the company was great and the music... Oh gods no. Chubbs laughed at what he heard, the music from Rocky Horror. He hadn't heard it in years, but it's not like you forget it easily.

Seeing Shenzi dancing around a bit, Chubbs decided to let loose a little and began to dance around to the music, doing the steps he remembered.

Shenzi Thompson
She laughed as Chubbs started dancing as well; he looked comical, with his pyramid head and a plate of food, dancing to the Time Warp. She hadn't seen the movie in a few months, but it was definately a good one. But it was just amusing watching him dance. "Come dance with me!" She said, grabbing his hand and heading towards the middle of the tent, closer to the music, as she tossed him a smile over her shoulder.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked as his hand was grabbed and put his drink down before getting dragged out onto the dance floor. He normally needed a six pack in him to get the nerve to be doing this. He watched as Shenzi looked over her shoulder and smiled at him, and for once he was glad she couldn't see him. That kind of thing made Chubbs go weak at the knees, and he blushed like crazy befor kicking himself metally and swearing at himself. Hoping he could do okay in his new body and with a helmet on his head, Chubbs took Shenzi's hands and started dancing.

Shenzi Thompson
She was grinning still; Chubbs seemed nervous, but alot of guys didn't like going on the dance floor. The usually loosened up once they got going, so she didn't let it worry her. Twisting her body to the music, she laughed, enjoying herself; she could lose herself in music and dance, but since she was dancing with someone she decided not to go dance-nutty this time.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs did dance well when he got up to speed. He claws did catch on the ground every now and then but he kept up okay. He held up Shenzi's arm and chuckled as he spinned her on the spot, then spun her away from him and back, he was at least good for some moves. He thought he'd surprise her with the old style dance moves and placed his hands on her hips, picked her off the ground and held her to he left side, and then his right, holding her like she was laying down. Finally he placed her back onto her feet, it didn't go horribly wrong like he thought it would.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi giggled when he twirled her, laughing delightedly as he spun her around, picked her up, and put her back down. The fact that she was so much smaller then him probably helped as well, though Shenzi doubted it made a big difference. "I've never danced with a guy who does that." She shouted over the music, a happy smile still on her face as the music changed tunes.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled bashfully and meant to rub the back of his head, instead he rubbed the back of his mask and it probably looked rather comical. He just was making it up as he went, not like he actually knew how to do it properly at all. Chubbs loved the fact she was laughing, he rather enjoyed the sound, and so he felt happy for the first time in a while. He replied over the music, and had no trouble getting his voice loud enought o hear.

" I'm just making it up as I go"

He smiled and wen back to dancing, noticing how many people there were turning up. Sure was a big party.

Shenzi Thompson
She was surprised, that was evident enough by her face. "Really? You're pretty good, for making it up as you go along." Shenzi said with another grin; she was certainly smiling alot tonight. She started dancing closer to him, not close enough to touch, quite, but there was definately less space between them. "Think they'll play something better to dance to?" She asked, laughing still.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs couldn't help but blush again, and have his tail wag from side to side. He really did praise the drug the labs created, who knows if he would have ruined the party tonight by storming around chasing people. Shenzi looked like she was having a good time, and that's what counted at the moment. She looked new and probably needed some fun. Chubbs couldn't help smelling her scent a bit as he danced with her, as she got closer.

" What sort of stuff do you like to dance to?"

Shenzi Thompson
She somehow managed to shrug while dancing. "Oh, whatever there is that's worth a beat." It was while she was saying this that she noticed the tail; it was sort of swaying back and forth, a motion that could be attributed to his body moving from side to side. It didn't seem like something that'd be in a Silent Hill game. "Nice tail. Part of the costume?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked and then chuckled. At least Shenzi had a sense of humour. He turned around and swatted her with his tail lightly.

" What? this thing?"

He tried to tickle her with it a litte then turned back around laughing some and took up her hands to dance some more.

" I like all times of music... guess I like the slow ones best"

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi snorted, grinning as she made a grab for the tail. "Yes, the feather duster." She ducked under his arm, before circling in front of him again; her tail feathers brushed the people behind her, though they didn't seem to notice for the most part.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled as the feathers tickled him and he grabbed at one, letting it run through his fingers. It was a cute little outfit, it reminded him a bit like a showgirl.

" Me the feather duster?, hah, look at you missy, gotta be the sexiest feather duster I've seen"

Chubbs blinked and suddenly wondered what the put in the punch.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi laughed, winking a silver eye. "So I've been told." She said as she gently tugged the feather out of his hand; they were fragile, and she was delighted that they survived the ride in the helicopter as well as they did.

Shenzi Thompson
As the song ended, Shenzi grinned up at Chubbs again, reaching up to pat him on the arm. The hair was insanely thick; maybe he had that disease, where a person is completely covered in hair? She'd seen two brothers like that in the circus once. "Thanks for the dance, Chubbs! Hope I'll see you around again?" She smiled, giving him a small wave. "I'm in number 78." Shenzi ducked underneath peoples' arms, the smile still on her lips, as she headed towards the tables again, getting her cup of juice again.

As she picked up her cup, she looked around; there were even more people here. Sighing to herself, Shenzi idly brushed her hair back from her shoulders, taking the mask off her eyes for a moment before taking a sip of the punch, eyes scanning the inside of the tent.

Halloween Party

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi looked up as she heard someone mention 'recovering alchoholic.' So she wasn't the only one here on rehab, either. Locating the voice, she saw it was a man in a big gorilla suit, talking to some old guy dressed like a roman. Walking up to them, her smile broadened as she looked at the motley group. "Hullo there. Mind if I join in this conversation?" She asked, straightforward enough.

Osbourne Caldwell
Oz cocked a crumpled eyebrow at Richard. What was he talking about? Four extra limbs? Ah, the soldiers attached to his back. Sounded like this old fella had been drinking too much, or had seen far too many horror or history films. And who was Moreau?

"Yeah...don't you think you're taking your costume a bit too seriously?" he said to Richard.

Then a delicate voice chimed in just behind him and he craned his neck over his shoulder to spy Shenzi. Oh dear lord, another young one. Poor kid, sent to rehab clinic at her age? And Oz thought he was messed up.

Nita MacNeal
"Hey!" Nita yelped as her tail was grabbed. What was it with people tugging on her? "It moves like that on it's own," she said icily, glancing at Richard. At the moment, she was actually glad he was there; Nita was getting sick of having to convince people she wasn't wearing a costume. Well, that the fur wasn't a costume.

And then Shenzi showed up. Had the teenager realized yet what was actually going on?

Richard Harrison
With the bloody ghost's exit Richard relaxed... a bit too much. The tentacles lashed out in the direction of the Ghost's exit, extending a good six feet in front of him. While the tentacles had lashed out and retracted in less than a second the soldiers weren't so lucky, they sailed through air. Over Thom's head and landing near Gallen's feet.

"Oops." Richard laughed and waved at Thom and Gallen. "Sorry about that." He should have been more careful, but he hadn't hit anything and his back felt loads better. Oz and Shenzi could now see the black squid like tentacles waving above Richard's head. They could trace them back to two mounds of muscle on his back.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi's brows knit together as she watched Nita's tail, and the tentacles above the greek-man's head. More costumes? Now it was starting to seem a little too elaborate. Suspisciously, she reached up to try and grab one of the tentacles; it felt funny, definately didnt' feel like it was a robotic thing.

It was then that she saw Nita from the corner of her eye, catching her gaze. "Everyone was tricked here somehow, told different stories, but the truth is, they're turning us into animals..." Shenzi shut her eyes, shaking her head as what Nita had said the other day came rushing back. "No, that can't be right..." She mumbled under her breath. It had to be robotic; they could get coverings for metal, to make it feel real. They had done for movies, plays, lots of things. It'd cost alot, but it was possible... Right?

Osbourne Caldwell
Oz immediately let go of Nita when she yelped, and withdrew a little as though he'd done something wrong. How...how did she feel that? Or was she just playing the part? It was Halloween afterall, and from what he'd seen already, the people here made great costumes and took the holiday very seriously. Still...a few things from the night so far had began to nibble in Oz's brain and it didn't feel good.

Still stuck in a half-way state of naivety and disbelief, his little buble of thought was sharply interrupted. By tentacles darting past him. And paper soldiers flying right AT him.

"WOAH!" he yelped and fell backwards onto the floor. "What was that!?" His head darted about nervously, looking for maybe a Halloween prop that had malfunctioned.

Richard Harrison
"They're sock puppets Gallen, they'd hurt as much as getting wacked with a pillow.

Richard carefully tightened that new muscle that he was begining to think of as a tentacle "safety switch", then looked down at Oz and chuckled. "Sorry about that Oz. Only had my tentacles a week, they're still a bit unruly." He leaned over to offer a hand up.

Then Shenzi closed her hand around one of those same tentacles. In her hand is was warm. The skin is slick, but not wet or slimey. She can feel the muscles moving around a core of something hard.

Something in Richard's brain flips. He stands bolt upright, spine stiff. Its an entirely new sensation to him, something had closed around his delicate tentacle. It was a volation!

A inhuman growl bubbled up from his chest, he whipped around, tearing the tentacle from Shenzi's grasp. With it came his outstretched fist trying to knock her back.

Nita MacNeal
"It's attached," Nita told Oz, her voice tired.

She flinched and jumped backwards as the tentacles shot out. "Hojeez! Get a hold of yourself, Richard!"

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi let out a sound of surprise as she fell backwards into someone, she couldn't tell who. That was definately a controlled reaction; nothing robotic would respond like that. As that thought processed, her eyes slowly widened, as what Nita had tried to explain the other day slowly dawned. "No, not right..." Was all she could say, mumbling under her breath. "Zpropadeně , hrome až k peklo..." The blueberry started talking in another language, one that most probably wouldn't recognize. She held a hand to her forehead, eyes shut as she pushed herself up off the ground.

Richard Harrison
Richard growled at Shenzi, bearing his enlarge canines, his eyes gleaming with predatory intent. For a moment he just stood there, glaring. Slowly rational thought came filtering back into his mind.

"Don't touch those." The voice was gutteral and filled with implyed malice.

Then his brain cobbled together what he had done, his face fell and he turned away. "Sorry." he mumble. He still felt angry and volated. He could still feel the place she had touched him. He was breathing heavily as he forced himself to calm down.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose, stomach now full of festive food - and a great deal of delicious meat, not to mention a good drink, was feeling positively social again. Fortunately, he had missed the earlier confrotnations and near-confrontations, but he didn't miss the sock puppet that went sailing across the room... and the tense man in a toga.

Richard? He had changed... and by the jerking tentacle attached to his back, not into something pleasant.

He knew the warning signs, getting to his feet again and putting a hand on Angelna's to say that he'd find her again later, he got to his feet, pardoned himself as he passed by Alec, and fetched the doll, carrying it over to Richard.

With a hesitant note in his voice and a steadying arm, he entered the grouping. THe man was tense and the last thing that needed to happen was him lashing out again at more attendees.

"Richard? Richard! Heeey, man, it's Ambrose. I.. Think you must have lost this." Ambrose spoke directly to him, trying to snag his attention.

Richard Harrison
Richard heard Ambrose's voice. He continued to breath deeply, in and out, in and out. Mentally, he searched for that safety switch in the mounds of muscle in his back but they were too agitated, so he kept his eyes shut.

"Ambrose? I.. I'm fine, she just surprised me. That's all." Richard struggled to get a hold on his emotions, at least his voice sounded human again.

Shenzi Thompson
Shenzi was shivering slightly, staring at the tentacles on Richard's back, and now at the big wolf-man that he was talking to. That... Is not a costume... Even she had to admit, it wasn't possible to get a robotic outfit to move that convincingly.

Rubbing her temples, she pulled her hairback, letting the mask drop from her eyes and onto the floor, immediately forgotten. "I-I need to go..." She mumbled, sort of stumbling out of the tent. Can't be real. No, but the arms, the tails... Shaking her head, she managed to steer a course back to her duplex, her mind a cloud of confusion...

Concerns for Deafness

Shenzi was lying on her bed, her face buried in her pillow, hair messy and down in tangled waves. Her stereo was playing Three Days Grace at full blast, currently playing Burn.

Shaking her head against the pillow, she turned her head to look at the clock she had found, set up on her bedside table. 1:31pm.

Rubbing her temples, she sat up, her legs over the side of the bed. The Halloween party last night... Zatratit... Rubbing her head, she recalled what had happened. A few days before, some girl dressed as a panda tried to tell her about being tricked here. Halloween night, a man with tentacles had knocked her down, responding in ways that a costume and robotics couldn't... Moaning softly, the blueberry held her head in her hands. s**t, was Nita right? Maybe she wasn't wearing a costume...

"You can do it..." the older man mumbled to himself. He barely had one foot out the door before he promptly slammed it shut again. Why go outside, when he had everything he had ever wanted inside this wonderful little box of his? " You need to eat" said the voice of reason, but, tish! Food was only temporary...and exercise and human companionship, they were all unnecessary human frivolities. He could do with out them.

The spawning of all this trouble; last nights Halloween party. It had been hard enough for the counselor to convince himself to take a step out, but last night...being around all those horribly disfigured people...the music, the lights...well, he told himself never again would he leave. Yet, here he was at the front door, again. Propping the portal to the outside world open Charlie looked about,--No he just cou--wait...what was that noise? Head peeped out a bit as a faint wave of repulsive sounding form of rock hit him. Oh it was god awful...but besides the horrid taste, what worried Charlie more was the fact someone had their music on loud enough so that he from his several rooms away could hear it.

Forgetting his dilemma the man briskly walked from his door. Downstairs...shuffling about, he finally found himself in front of duplex door number 78. Oh dear, it must be stopped--a hard pounding at the door.

...Would whomever was inside even be able to hear him?

Shenzi looked up as she heard a faint pounding on the door; she could just barely register the sound overtop her music. She generally turned it up full blast when she was irritated, and it usually made no difference in New York.

Sighing to herself, she got up from the bed, throwing a loose t-shirt on over her skirt and leggings as she approached the door. Turning the volume dial down on the stereo, she cautiously looked through the door.

A man with drab, brunette hair and half-moon glasses stood there, his hand mid knock. She had been expecting something else; what, Shenzi couldn't say, just not a full human, not after last night and what Nita had said had slowly sunk in.

Heaving a sigh of relief, she leaned against the door frame, trying to mold her face to neutrality, and not suceeding. "Yes?"

As far as expectations went, Shenzi whom Charlie had been expecting either. Someone his age...a guy...just anyone with normal hair? What an interesting person, this girl in front of him. Behind all the various doors of these little apartment rooms were a thousand different people, all distinct in a thousand different ways. But, ah, he was getting off track--

"My apologies, I hope I wasn't interrupting--erm, anything." Charlie started in, a slow look of concern slipping across his face. "It's just, I live several doors and one floors up," he watched carefully making sure to note any expressions from the young female which might suggest anger. " But I could hear your music, and I have to say...I was awful concerned. One's hearing is so precious, you see--it would be shame to go deaf at your age." He hoped that didn't sound too awkward. He was just concerned was all...concerned for his sanity, and well being.

How could he ever concentrate on making the effort to step out of his room, while this racket was going on. But, Charlie, don't you see? You're already outside your door step, you did it!

Shenzi listened through his dialogue, with a growing sense of amusement; she definately needed a laugh. She wanted for forget about Mr. Tentacles, and maybe that ill haunted spector would go away. And besides, why should he care about her hearing? She didn't even know his name, and the music was usually just as loud, if not louder, on stage.

So, she made a face. "Not really interrupting anything..." Shenzi said, shrugging her shoulders; the t-shirt said something about The Strokes on it, a backwards hand holding a pistol. "Sorry for the loudness. Guess I'm just used to the city, though I don't think I need to worry about going deaf right now." She said, raising a darkly colored eyebrow, laughter and a smile that didn't show on her face lighting her eyes. "I don't believe I caught your name?"

Ok...so he may not have been completely concerned for the woman's well being, but that didn't mean he wasn't a bit concerned. Your hearing was something you didn't want to loose, besides obvious survivor factors, you lost a lot of other good things. For example, enjoying the sound of raindrops falling on the roof at night. That was terribly important...the simple things in life always were the best.

Instead he was more or less concentrating on the strange garb plastered to her skin. Is that what the younger generation was wearing now days? ..Or was that just some sort of fad, this "radical" girl was wearing. Who was he to judge, though? Many a time in his youth had he pulled extravagant feats as Shenzi and her hair.

As for his name? ...Was it really necessary to give her that? He would probably never meat this person again, "Just call me Charels," Ever a faint smirk on his lip, the man with oddly chopped bangs reached out a hand extending a firm handshake to his complex neighbor. "And pray tell, Mis.---" he left out her name for now, "Why need not worry about such a thing? Your hearing is something terribly precious after all...you can't get it back, no matter what those doctors say about their new technology."

She shook his hand, tucking a stray strand of vivid blue hair behind an ear. "Shenzi. And no miss, that's for a dáma." Shenzi said with a laugh, grinning at him. "And 'sides, I've heard louder music before at my concerts. Being on stage is kinda like that." She said, her grin turning slightly crooked in answer to his slight smirk.

Though when reminded of the "doctors," her face fell. Now she couldn't help but wonder... What will I turn into? Staring off to the side, she shook her head, letting a false smile take over now. "So how long have you been here?"
PostPosted: Wed Nov 01, 2006 5:25 pm

"Shenzi? Lovely name," Charlie sweetly smiled although he was dying to of its origins, or for that matter what kind of a name Shenzi was. "Concerts? My, my I remember those days...I'm sure it's changed by now though. Nothing quite like the feeling of the bass being so loud you can feel it through your toes." He almost let out a laugh but restrained himself. Now, now, not too friendly...

Hmmn, how long had he? "Two months," the real answer slipped from his mouth before he had time to correct it. Blast! She didn't need to know the actual date now...besides, why did she need to know at all? He would have to be more careful before he spoke next time. But for now...he might as well take advantage of the fact he was actually holding a conversation with a real living human being.

"And you, m'dear? What brought you here to this lovely...paradise?" The real word for it was death trap, mosquitoes, diseased freaks--Shenzi wasn't some sort of leper too was she? Oh hell, he was going to die here for sure, ...if the yellow fever didn't get him, the sickies of this place would.

She laughed again, some of her good humor being restored. Some. "Mm, yes, concerts are fun. My only source of income between me'n my buddies."

At his own question, Shenzi waved a hand dismissively in the air. "Rehab, for who knows how long. Got here less then a week ago, with a guy named Miller." She said shortly, not caring to think about it. And in less then a week, she'd be turning 18. Joy. The day she was planning on partying like crazy, she winds up at some ******** up medical island.

"Ah, so you are the performer then." Charlie pushed up his glasses which were slipping down his forehead. Always so troublesome, but he would take them anyday over contacts. Surely if he ever tried to use the obscure glasses he would jab his eye out. Simply put, Charlie wasn't that coordinated.

"An artist? How splendid." Now the hair was starting to make sense, her answer too somewhat. Rehab? Was that what this place was? Unlike the other islanders here, Charlie had simply woken up in his room. One day he was in a lovely office...and the next this dark and dank place. And Rehab was a better explanation than the one that--that creep had given him.

"A friend?" Said Charlie, sensing the vibe that this girl had arrived here alone. Ever little bit of information he could find was valuable, every bit added to the puzzle he had to solve. "Or simply someone you met on the plane." He laughed slightly at that bit.

Shenzi shrugged carelessly. "Yeah, I sing and dance." She said, giving her hip a little upwards twitch, before laughing again. She loved to dance, which was the understatement of the week, simply put.

"I didn't come by plane. More by helicopter. And yeah, met him on the ride over, he's okay. Kept stealing my hat though..." As if expecting said person to come up that minute, she put a hand on her head, holding her hat in place; Miller was only one floor below her, after all.
