"Hn, I'm surprised these deer are this far up. They must have been driven here by something. They can't survive in this area long so we should take them while we can."
Finally his crimson eyes came to rest on a young doe. She seemed to be having trouble keeping up with the herd. She wasn't limping so Hiei deduced she must be sick.
"Let's go for that one." He growled, jerking his muzzle toward it.

Raven nodded her head slightly and gazed around. "Maybe there might have been some sort of disaster in the forest near the back of the packlands. THis is the first and only time I have seen their kin around here before. Usually Tsume finds at least one or two each year for the pack, but this is a lot more than what he has found since he has been here." The new arrival of the deer herd made Raven happy.
Raven let her eyes rest upon the doe that Hiei had spotted and she nodded her head slightly. "That seems like a good enough meal for two," she commented before slowly slinking off towards the backside of the doe, her body close to the ground.

Hiei sensed she had become happier and let a wave a pride flow from him. "Its been dry lately... perhaps a fire?" He hunkered himself down and joined Raven's side. "Do you wish to make the kill? Or should I?"
He really wanted the kill to prove to her that he was capable but wasn't going to stop her if she wanted it.
The doe lifted her head and looked around lazily before pawing at the earth. She wanted the roots at within the ground since there seemed to be no good grass.

Raven nodded her head. That was probably the cause of the deer coming down to the desert, but it wasn't a very wise decision on their part. She knew that fires could happen in the wintertime, but most happened in the summer time. This part of the region hardly got fires due to the scarcity of proper fuel for fires, but they sometimes did happen, usually in the middle of the day when many of the wolves stuck near the mountain where it was cooler.
She heard his question and she gazed back at him curiously. "We both are. You go for the neck while I concentrate on tripping and pinning the doe down. Don't let your guard down, though. She might be stronger than she looks," she told to him before turning her gaze back to the doe.

He gave a slight nod, surprised by how intelligant her plan was. The neck. He could do that with ease. He took a whiff of the wind and disappeared to get into position.
This would be fun.
The lack of cover was dangerous but he stayed downwind of them and snuck up carefully, using rocks to sheild his body.
For that female he'd gladly fight a full grown stag and bring it down. This was his chance.

Raven nodded her head, too, when she saw that he acknowledged her plan. After watching him head down towards the front of the doe, she crept up behind the doe, making sure that her movements were slow, yet smooth. After creeping up behind the doe, she leapt at the doe's hindlegs, her forelegs stretched out, hoping she might trip and pin down the doe easily.

The doe gave a sound of horror and tried to kick away from the heavy body that just tripped her. The rest of the herd took off, leaving her stranded to face off with the wolves.
Hiei saw his chance and lept out of his hding place, taking her by the neck and biting into it. A few more struggles and the meal was theres. "Hn, that was easy."

Raven was surprised when she didn't have to pin down the doe. The doe fell right into their trap as she watched Hiei wrap his maw around the helpless doe's neck. She smirked slightly as she trotted to the male's side, gazing down at the dead doe happily. "Too easy if you ask me. She was weaker than she looked," Raven commented, a note of chipperness in her voice. She gazed at Hiei for a few seconds before digging her muzzle into the shoulder of the doe, ripping off a thick chunk of meat.

Hiei nodded in response watching her eat with a sense of awe. She was truly a graceful woman. He too grabbed at a mouthful of flesh and swallowed. It tasted like Heaven. He licked his maw then leaned down and licked the top of hers.
... What the hell possessed him to do that? He flushed under his fur and hoped she hadn't noticed.

Raven winced slightly when Hiei licked the top of her maw, but she didn't make any movements to snap at him. It puzzled her slightly that he would do something like that and and that she didn't react violently to his actions. Flicking an ear, she roughly tour off a chunk of meat and set it on the ground. She gazed at it for a few seconds before ignoring it. she wondered if Hiei would eat it or not.

Hiei watched her carefully then blinked at the meat. Did she not want it? He licked his chops before leaning down and engulfing the meat. When he finished with the piece he looked up at her expectantly. He wagged his tail.

Raven saw Hiei's maw engulf the chunk of meat she had left on the ground. She smirked evily, knowing that he had walked into her trap. As soon as she had saw him wag his tail, she spun around and pounced on top of him, her maw wide open and her tail held up high.

Hiei yelped and blinked up at the female on top of him. Did he miss something...? His tail kicked up earth underneath him as he stared up at the black female.
Oh so it was a game, eh? He grinned and tried to roll over, to get her off. He wasn't much for games but if she wanted a challenge then fine. She'd get one.

Raven pinned her ears back against her skull as she felt Hiei's body fall on the ground. Now was the time for her to strike. Gently, she buried her muzzle into his neck, grabbing onto a small hunk of flesh lightly between her fangs.
Feeling him starting to roll, she locked her hindlegs so that she wouldn't be rolled off of the larger male. She dug her forepaws into his side as she wagged her tail slightly.

The male stared up at her with his ears back, a flat look on his face. "Playing puppy games?" He questioned reaching up and nipping at her neck. No one had ever played with him as a puppy let alone as an adult. "Or are you just showing off?" He asked coyly with a smirk.
