Cloud is NOT Zack. Zack is dead, the persona of Zack is what Cloud took on when he lost his friend Zack. These events were prior to Tifa finding Cloud at the Midgar train station in sector 7.

gamer9 why is cloud the main character and not zack if zack was the one visiting tifa and cloud was the guy in bad guys clothing Zack is dead, thats one, and thats part of the story. It one of the things that makes it perfect. second, the three of them were friends and if you follow the story, cloud quits SOLDER

FairyMage Poor Zack. At least he got some screen time in FF XII: AC. How did he die anyway? Just got hit by something on a random mission or something? well you see zack and cloud became wanted because shanera became afraid they went crazy with seproth and zack died while trying 2 kill seproth after he was shot like 100 times then stabbed by seproth cloud finely grew angry and stabbed seproth with then stabbed him back but cloud lived because he wasn’t weekend by the borage of bullets by other solders ps: the terks were created just 2 kill cloud seproth and zack but they only managed 2 kill zack

bonvo Psirynn Um, I'll try to answer any questions... First off, not 'bad guy's clothing'. That was the uniform all Shinra, low-level grunts wear. Zack was a member of Shinra's fighting unit, SOLDIER. They weren't always bad, and Cloud didn't always hate them. Okay, now. Zack dies several years (I think) before the events in the game take place. He, at one time, dated Aeris. That's why they knew each other. In fact, he was her first love. Zack and Cloud became friends under unknown circumstances. They didn't grow up together; Cloud was from Nibelheim and Zack was from Gongaga. Whatever the case, that's how Cloud knew him. Besides being dead, Zack couldn't be the main character because he doesn't have enough of a fight. Cloud was the, well, loser of this whole mess; other than dying, Zack did exactly what he'd wanted with his life (he was one of the best SOLDIER members). Zack didn't really have anything to fight against. He wouldn't have made a good tragic hero. His story just isn't depressing enough to be FF main character material. Plus, his parents are alive. The whole story is that there's nothing but Tifa's memories to prove that Cloud wasn't merely created in some lab, because both his parents are dead. Zack couldn't fill that place, because you even meet his parents in the game. the only thing i see that yhou leftt out is cloud is the only successful clone of sepherothhe did come from a lab Cloud is not a clone of sephiroth, him and zack had high levels of mako energy introduced to them. Cloud went crazy from it. Not unless you meant hojo tried to clone sephiroth's powers into cloud, though i wouldn't call it cloning. Maybe copying

yeh zack kinda was killed trying to save cloud (killed by shinra soldiers)how ever ive seen in last order that it has a dif veiw on how he dyd than from ff7 game. (search last order on youtube to find out wat i mean)

busterswrd556 yeh zack kinda was killed trying to save cloud (killed by shinra soldiers)how ever ive seen in last order that it has a dif veiw on how he dyd than from ff7 game. (search last order on youtube to find out wat i mean) Last Order he didnt necessarily die from the one shot. He couldve kept going on, which is why they cut out right when that single shot was being fired at Zack and Cloud. Zacks death from the original game could still have happened in that case, with him being massacred over and over by Shinra bullets.

ok first off the reason u play as cloud in the flashbak, is because cloud used zack's memories as his own in a sense. the nafter the mideel incident its revealed that zack was the one who was 1st class, and cloud was just a flunky in a sense.wat was true, was that cloud was the one who killed sephiroth in the flashback.if u noticed, cloud was almost killed himself killing sephiroth the first time (yes sephiroth DID DIE in the flashback), and if u thought zack died during hsi attempt at killing sephiroth,ur wrong, cuz he died carrying cloud to midgar, when they were ambushed by SOLDIERS.Zack killed/took out all but a few of the SOLDIERS when the turks showed up and attempted to capture cloud and zack, when 2 of the remaining SOLDIERS defied the turks request that they stand down, and fired upon and killed zack.what happened to cloud at that time, was that zack fought off half of the SOLDIERS with the buster sword (this sword has had 3 owners.2 before cloud.agneal (zack's mentor),zack,and then cloud) then placed cloud out of harms way by puting him in a corner and placed the buster sword in front of him to avoid him getting hit by bullet fire.he then took out the other half with his fists.<------ this info was brought to my presence by the last order. search last order on youtube to find it.its a movie/game (japan only im afraid).

I dunno when or where, but I saw some movie or cut scene or something where Zack was fighting Sephiroth, who impaled him.. 0.o
