Les Miserables isn't old. ... At lest I don't think of it as old. *shrugs*
Les Miserables is awesome, and Eponine is by far my favorite character, but that might also be because she was my favorite in the book- even with her small part. She was very interesting. surprised

Red Scully Les Miserables isn't old. ... At lest I don't think of it as old. *shrugs* I agree. I consider it to be right around the time when what I consider to be today's modern Theatre started. Cats, Phantom, and Les Mis paved the way for theatre as we know it today.

WickedElphie Well, I don't know about Boheme... but I would say anything originally from BEFORE 1980. That was when shows kinda started to get all big budget and big on spectacle (Cats, Phantom, Les Mis...) Cats opened in 1982, Phantom opened in 1988, Les Miserables opened in 1987.

PossessedByDevil I know you said before the 80s but I really like The Mystery of Edwin Drood. I just got to listen to it, and I like it, too, but the lyrics are kinda of....viscous, if that makes sense....

My favorite old school of all time is West Side Story. I've been obsessed with it since 8th grade and just love it to death. I also love Sound Of Music, Fiddler, and Music Man.

I'm not sure how old it is, but I love Sweeney Todd. Red, I absolutly agree with you about Angela Lansbury. She rocks. Every role I've ever seen her in she was perfect for.

I'm sorry but old school Broadway should really be the '40's and the 50's. If you mean before 1980, may I humbly suggest before the great Broadway specatacular where the scenery was the show?
Oh, Sweeney Todd is 1979.

Oh, Sweeney Todd is 1979. Yeah, I agree, that really is the OLD school Broadway. Probably best to say like pre-Caberat (I can't spell today) before B-way was influenced by rock and the current times and just as the Golden Age was ending.
