Pales laughed a bit, "Call me whatever you wish, Mieke." He said cheerfully and shrugged glancing at Tia and nodded in confirmation, "It'll be fine. I'm just curious to meet everyone is all." He supposed it was a downfall of his. Curiosity killed the crow, plus he wanted to know what sort of person managed to bring out that ... delightful child known as Udell. Why was he, himself, chosen anyhow? He wasn't sure, but all he knew is that whoever went in and wrote in that weirdo book came out with a child.

... Apparently his mother was full of hoey. Birds and the bees nothin'. She should have given him the talk of walking into weird Stationary stores with a study and a big ol' tome. That seemed to apply to him a little better. Not like she knew this would happen to him, though...

Armel blinked. She seemed to have a hell of a time at making up her mind it seemed. It caused him to grunt a bit. He glanced between the girl and the boy for a few moments. The boy didn't seem like he'd appreciate mud fights. Though to Armel, flinging mud did seem to have some sort of a charm to it. Hide n' Seek? Tag? What were those things? Pretend? ...What'd that mean? "Pre...tend?" He looked absolutely befuddled.

"Perfectly fine, Tia is fine." She replied cheerfully as she stretched and wiggled her shoulders which in the rumpling of her shirt made her techi-colour gauze wings dance.

Udell took the offered moment to shudder, Armel's assumption that Udell would be apposed to mud fights was most certainly correct - it was a little something that Lady had already instilled into him. Mud was bad. Although, something about the lesson had rang false, mud was dirt and dirt he liked. He didn't know why, he just did. Assuming that the ram horned boy had some knew something about something, he nodded, "Pretend?" It was more of a question than it was a statement, but he still gave the impression that it wasn't anything but a levelheaded decision. His reserved side showing a bit as he distanced himself from the other two, eyes watching them as he fell back into silence.

(( -Smacks head against a table...repeatedly.- Exams are over, but I'm on a Hiatus for now...internet's down x.X SORRY! ))

"Meet people? There's usually a whole bunch of Tales and their Authors around the Shop. So...I guess...if you ever wanted to meet someone, you should just head over there." Mieke started to feel silly about her words. Of COURSE there would be tales around the shop...after all, that is where they came from.

"I heard the tome does strange things before the kid appears. I know it asks a question...but once you answer it, I mean. Did anything strange happen to you two, after you answered the question?" Obviously the doe had regained herself now, her tone laced with curiousity. She knew what happened with Vidya, and she heard what happened with Adonis, and she was genuinely curious about the other sorts of things the tome could do.

"Pretend." Vidya re-stated with a giggle. Of course they didn't know what pretend was! They were fresh out of the tome...or so she figured, anyway. She let out a soft 'Hmm...' noise as she thought about how to explain it. Then, tapping her index finger against her lips, it came to her. With an excited, single laugh, she threw her arms out to the side.

"Pretend! S'like...make-believe...uhm. Somethin' thas not real..." She paused...okay, so she forgot what she was originally going to say...but that was alright! There was another way to explain it. "Like...Pretend 'Mel's a...dragon or somethin', or Udell's a bear, or...like Viddy playing pretend as a penguin!" She giggled at the thought. As she spoke of Armel, she was looking at Udell, and when she spoke of Udell, she was looking at Armel, and of course, she pointed to each person in turn.

"Get it?" She asked with an air of innocent curiousity. Hopefully they'd somewhat get it...if not well...maybe she'd try again?

He tilted his head and nodded, "All I saw at the store was who I assumed was the shopkeeper. Very nice person, I think. She seemed a bit disturbed that I was able to go into that strange room. I wondered why but when I came out she was gone." He looked at both girls as he talked to them. He didn't seem all too flustered by the fact that he was the only adult male here. It also helped that he knew Tia at least somewhat.

Armel raised an eyebrow, "Dragon?" He researched in his mind for a moment before coming up with a mental image of a large lizard wrapped around some large boulder. A rather serpentine type dragon but a dragon none-the-less. He seemed to gloss over the fact that he was called 'Mel by Vidya for the moment, that or he just assumed he heard his full name and the 'Mel part was a figment of his imagination. Though this pretend thing didn't seem all too bad, at least it wouldn't rob him of too much of his dignity to play, he however glanced at Udell first to see his reaction.

Udell shrugged, the idea of being a bear didn't seem to put him off in the slighest - it may have been the fact that bears were big, or that they had claws and sharp teeth.. but, that'll be left for another day. "Kay." He offered quietly, almost boredly as he looked back to Armel. The fact that the boy kept looking at him made him twitch.

Tia shrugged softly, "I didn't go, so you'll have to get a hold of La to know what happened to her.." The young faerie wanna-be brushed her pink hair over her shoulder to fall back down against the gauze wings residing on her back before she looked over to the children, almost tempted to ask if she could play too. She'd probably be happier playing with the children anyways.

((*Dies.* I'm sorry. I've no excuses.))

"Oh." Mieke breathed out before falling silent, absently dragging her gaze over to the children. Oh dear...it seemed Vidya was attempting to teach them things! The doe wasn't sure if this was a good thing, or a bad thing... "Somehow, I can't picture Vidya as a teacher." She giggled out, brushing aside her orange-tipped white hair.

"Mom told me that after she answered the question, the study filled up with water...kind of like a whirlpool. I guess Vidya giggled then, but the water disappeared and...there she was, out little sea monster."

"Yes, Dragon!" Vidya seemed hopeful...maybe they did understand after all! Okay, she was so into this 'lets teach tales stuff!' thing. It was easy to teach her brother however, since he paid all the attention in the world to her. She then giggled happily, clapping her hands together in front of her lips before swinging her arms outwards, leaving them open at her sides. "We play?"

"When I found Armel.." Pales thought for a moment, "There were all these tools laying about and it was just plain weird. It is hard for me to recall sometimes I guess. It seemed like some weird dream. I wake up expecting Armel to not be sleeping in his room I set up for him, but it is all there..."

Armel blinked but nodded staring at Vidya intently now. She certainly was all energetic and bouncy it was somewhat contagious as he was begining to brighten himself now. "Play." He said with a affirmative nod and a small, smile. However, the smile didn't reach his naturally narrow yellow colored eyes, or if it did, it was barely really noticable. Armel wanted to see what this playing thing was all about. He resisted the urge to look at Udell now. Though the exsistance of the other boy was undenyably upon his mind.

The contagiousness of Vidya's playful, bouncy aura was questionable for Udell's own disposition seemed to darken as Vidya grew more and more cheerful. The single glowing eye visable moved between Vidya and Aramel for a moment before he too nodded, in a defeated manner. "We'll Play." He conceeded, shifting from booted foot booted foot as he waited for one of the two to say what they were playing.

Tia's attention was held by the children, biting her lower lip as she hoped Udell didn't do anything bad, afterall it probably wouldn't be best for Udell to push Vidya or Aramel around like he had the child of one of her co-workers. Listening absently to the conversation Mieke and Pales were having, she remained silent - La didn't tell her anything about what happened in the study before she recieved Udell.

Pales nodded a bit to the women. He casually looked up at the sky. It was getting late and they needed to get home and prepare dinner. Plus there was a small pink puff there all alone. That always spelt chaos. "Hope you don't think me rude but I have to get home and make sure it's in one piece." Pales gave a nervous laugh. "Armel! C'mon. You can play with the others another time." Pales called the ram-horned boy over.

Armel twitched a bit. He still didn't get to figure out what this playing thing was about much less the pretend game, or whatever it was, "...Bye." He waved to the other two and turned to go toward Pales. When he got within coat grabbing distance, Armel did so and began to walk home with Pales with a small frown on his face.

"Hey, I promise we'll arrange a day with one or both of them again. So stop frowning." Pales said soothingly, Armel's only reply was a grunt.
