Sid was immensely greatful to make it back to the shore, and just a little surprised that suddenly the castaway was begging him not to go. He parted his hair like a curtain to get it out of his eyes.
He turned back to face her long enough to laugh at the fish monster question. "Jus' lucky, I gueth-- guess."
And with that he hobbled over to his things so he could retrieve his cane.

God, he even had a tail.
"Stop moving, and tell me what the hell is going on!" Caitlin was half getting really angry, and half plaintive. The boat grounded with a bump, and she let go, wading up onto the beach and almost collapsing at the sudden heaviness that being out of the water brought. She coughed, staggering upright again, and straightening. Show no sign of weakness. Unknown shore, unknown factors. She rummaged in her pocket, found the penknife still clipped to the inside; she undid it shakily, rust already starting to form on the sheened metal.

Sid obliged only after reached his thinge. He bent down, as slowly and carefully as ever, to get his cane. Then he turned around, putting his weight on it with as much dignity he could muster while dripping wet.
"Yer nah gonna use that, are ya?" he asked, raised one eyebrow. His tail flicked a few times, either to shake off the water or as part of some faint instinct that told him being on land was a terrible thing. He could ignore that so long as he still had his lungs.
Watching him talk was, needlessly to say, even more disturbing with him out of the water.

Her voice was growing steady, calmer now with the adrenalin that was reanimating her limbs again. The young woman swallowed, and hardened her eyes, clipped British tones demanding.
"Not against you, idiot, unless you attack me. But please, please tell me where this is? I've been drifting for days, I need water, a radio....."

"Hones'ly?" Sid shrugged. He glanced around as if it might suddenly come back to him. "I have no ********' clue. Sow- sorry."
He gathered his dripping mass of hair and threw it over his shoulder. "I can tell you you're gonna hafta get used to it... They can prolly geh ya some water, though."
He was still just buzzed enough to think being cryptic was funny.

"Who's they?" She flipped hair irritably from her face, wishing for the hundredth time that she hadn't lost her hair ties, and scowled, still holding the penknife in front of her warily. If this fish monster man wasn't going to give her answers, she was just going to have to go find a radio herself, or a phone, or something.....

The question of "They" was soon answered as a white jeep rolled quickly onto the beach from a small dirt road leading off into the jungles.
One guard stayed in the driver's seat with the engine running while two other men in khaki-colored uniforms and holding guns jumped out, followed shortly thereafter by a man in a dark suit that looked totally inappropriate for the island weather.
The three of them strode purposefully towards Caitlin and sid.
Sabin kept his eyes carefully on Caitlin while he addressed Sid. "SID! Go back to the village NOW. This is your only warning. And as for you, miss, you will need to come with us."

At the guns and the jeep, Caitlin instantly swung around, penknife still in front of her, taking into account her surroundings. One, a fish monster. Two, men in suits and guns who apparently knew said fish monster. This was getting waaaaay too real to be a hallucination.
"Who the hell are you, and why should I come with you?" Her tone was harsh, even with the salty hoarseness. She didn't like the threat of guns.

"Fine, fine, I'm goin'," Sid muttered. He stooped down to grab his sandals and shirt. His haste- and the guns- were enough to make him forget about the possibility of throwing his back out. He gave an almost pitying glance Caitlin's way before he turned and, shaking his head, started off towards the village.

One of the guards kept his eyes (and his gun) trained on Sid to make sure he didn't do anything funny and kept walking towards the village.
Meanwhile, Sabin gave an almost imperceptable nod and took a step closer to the woman. Inside his dark coat was the small tranq gun, his finger on the trigger.
"Miss, this is a restricted access facility. Top secret. We need to take you back to the labratories and defuse this situation before it gets worse. We can either do this the easy way or.." he nodded towards the guards "the hard way."

"Restricted....... What, is this some prison camp or something? Are you US Army?" Her grip on the knife faltered somewhat, though her eyes were still stormy. "My name is Lieutenant Gunn," -no doubt the pronounciation 'leftenant' grated somewhat - ", British Royal Navy. Will you take me to a phone, a radio?"
The odd man dressed like an undertaker (a dark suit, in this weather??) was obviously holding a gun. He expected trouble. But weren't all the Yanks trigger happy? Perhaps she'd best just go with them quietly for now, have them explain the fish monster to her..... she swayed imperceitably on her feet.

Sabin eyed the sway in her step and the condition of the boat. In all liklihood she was dehydrated and not in a proper frame of mind to put up much resistence. That made things much easier for him.
He took a few more steps, holding out his free hand in a placating manner. When he spoke, this time more evenly and not a shout, the french-accent in his voice was more plain. "Lieutenant Gunn, we will do what we can to get you situated, some water, and somewhere to rest. Just come with me please."
He watched the knife in her hand carefully, and readied the tranq gun in his other hand, details obscured by the coat.

Sid glanced back as he walked, but that was all he was willing to risk. He kept walking, no funny stuff, until at last he vanished from sight. Surely they couldn't blame him for investigating...

Wait, a frog too? Her brain threw up some fuzzy memroies of having to sit and chant learn French at school. She'd been appalling at it. Shaking her head suddenly, she felt uncertain, though not a shred showed on her face.
She lowered the knife carefully, slipping it back in her pocket, and smiled tightly at him. "No good waving weapons around like savages, is there?" She conceded lightly, feeling herself swaying again and ruthlessly schooling herself to stand upright. "I would be... most grateful for water. And a phone. My captain will need to know where I am...."
