appleskyway I don't think a second season will be released, and to be honest I don't think that Azumanga Daioh needs it. The way the first season ended suited it perfectly, and I think it's better if the series just ends with the question hanging in the air as to what the girls' destinies will be. Yeah but you wanna know show they should show. Besides they need more episodes..

Personally, I hate hate HATE it when anime's end with a question hanging in the air. I NEED the question answered, or I go berserk XD

Onicept Evil_Dancing_Kitten Yeah, also when you think about it, at the end of the anime Chiyo said that she was moving to America. It just wouldn't be Azumanga Daioh without Chiyo-chan.
Unless she goes back to Japan at some point. It could be like...1 year later and she needs to go back to Japan for continued studying...because America wasn't working out or something.

Doubt there would ever be, but Azumanga Daioh is a work of art!. The creator made another anime called Magical Play...but its really random, and doesn't live up to Azumanga at all >.o... Ketchup and Mustard, haha.
