"D'worry 'bout it. I'm Ran Hana." Her introduction was simple, as she tipped her head towards the woman, turning to lean against the wooden railing, her elbows resting against them, keeping her perched up. "Nice t'meet ya." she flashed a friendly grin, that, unlike with most, reached all the way up to her eyes. Honest, and open. Something she preferred.
Her kimono could be described almost like a priestess uniform from olden religion. Like a temple maiden would wear when performing a ritualistic burial. The haori was the most interesting part though. Many of the captains wore the same garment, but hers was far shorter, and had no symbol at all. When the woman mentioned the swords, her hand slid down to rest on them protectively. "Yuh. This here's my soul slayer."

Kaiya noticed her protective gesture and smiled reassuringly. "I asked because I, too, have a zanpakutou in the form of two blades. She rummaged around in her baggage for a mere second. Straightening back up, she revealed what seemed to be modern day brass knuckles. Only instead of the knuckles, razor sharp blades formed a semi-circle approximately eight inches across. They looked to be excellent for both slicing an opponent and for stabbing. The effects of a mere punch woud be amplified.
She shrugged apologetically. "Tis true, they are not as elaborate as some. I have yet to release my shikai or discover the true nature of the soul who inhabits it." She cast a curious look in Ran's direction. "How far advanced are you in regards to your zanpakutou?" Suddenly, she shook her head ruefully. "How rude of me to keep you standing in the halls. Would you like to continue our conversation in my room? Or perhaps travel elsewhere?" Her eyes shone with the sincerity of the invitation.
[Time for bed. I'll be back on later today though. But I've got workouts in 7 hours, and I need sleep. lol]

She took a look over the woman's zanpaktou, staring at them thoughtfully, before nodding. "Only other one like what I got that I seen. They're nice. Figure they're probably strong too. I ain't done much with them. Ain't been at the Academy very long. Still tryen t'get settled." Her hand slid down away from her own zanpaktou, where the dual colored tassles rested, and she shrugged, before her hands spread.
"Outside, inside, don't make much difference t'me. I like the air, like the indoors. Whatever y'wanna do s'fine with me." She smiled that smile again, eyes closing just slightly as she did so. "So, Kaiya, where y'from?" She pushed off the railing behind her, swaying just slightly as she did so, one hand reaching down into her kimono to fish out another strawberry from the bag she kept them hidden in. Fruit was this girls weakness.
((Alright. I'll be around. May get in some other play in the meantime though.))

She nodded. "Then let us walk down to the common rooms." She quickly stashed her luggage in her room and closed the door. "I am from Junrinan. And you?" she asked politely before her eyes caught sight of the strawberry. "Oh!" She put her hands to her mouth. "Where did you find those?!" Her eyes were wide and wondering. Her intense love of strawberries was a remnant of her mortal life. She and her brother had loved the rare occasions when her father -- a well connected member of society-- had brought back bushels of the fruit. She had not had much of an opportunity to indulge in her secret passion since her death. Junrinan was not exactly the kind of place that catered to its occupants whims. She blushed, then. "Forgive me. I have not tasted a strawberry in the longest time..."

The woman followed along behind her, movements casual, a slight sway in her step, stretching a long and limber stretch before she moved to follow her down to the commons room.
"Kusajishi..." the 79th district. Rough place. When she saw the way the woman's eyes lit up at the sight of her sweet treat, she reached into her pouch, and offered one out.
"Kitchen. I bargained a bag." she smiled that smile again, the one that made her eyes close. In some, it was almost.. sinister. For her, it was mischevious. "'ere, have one."

Kaiya took it with absolute glee. "Oh, thank you!" she smiled happily. She ate it delicately, the juice running down her chin. Her eyes sparkled. "It's really good!" She relished the rare fruit the entire way down the stairs. When they finally reached the common rooms, Kaiya had eaten the entire thing. She glanced around at the empty room. A thought hit her suddenly. "No! I've got class!" She sent Ran an apologetic glance. "I feel so bad..." She brightened. "I'll come back as soon as it lets out, okay?" She waved her hand as she sprinted out of the door. "Sorry!" she threw back over her shoulder one last time.
[There, dear. Now don't worry about making me wait. If you want to follow, you can, of course.

Ran watched with a tipped head as the woman ran out the doors, headed for class. A slight shake of her head, and she turned to glance around the common rooms, before heading out the door. She was curious to get a closer glance at what the crowd of students had been looking at. Nobility was always interesting somehow. Or, it was the opposite, and they were so boring it made her want to fall asleep. Either option was good right now.
With her haori fluttering along behind her, she made her way up to where the other students all stood watching, jumping up over the heads of those taller than her to try and get a decent look.

Megumi stepped fully from the carriage and shooed some of the fans away with a giggle. waving one painted hand, he sighs. It was always like this. The others who were from noble families recognized him, so they weren't jumping around like mutant grasshoppers when he came up. He knew a few of them from high families, and he waves to them with that brilliant smile of his. Turning, and letting his guards close the door, he nods for them to simply go. He can handle himself. He smiles as others part slightly for him, though he has a feeling if he was someone from a higher family than what he is, he'd be getting an audience of hundreds instead of the audience he has now. Admittedly it wasn't as big a group as it looked, but a small crowd is still an ego-builder.
Humming a tune to himself, he wanders through, heading to the main dorm area. He has to get settled in and report for classes. He thinks he has kidou first, but he's not sure. He'll have to look at his schedule.

She managed to scuttle along behind him unnoticed, through the crowd, trying to get a better look. Of course, she'd never been very skilled at being subtle, at least, not most of the time, so there's absolutely no surprise when she taps his shoulder, and leans forward, getting face to face with him, amidst gasps from the other students
"You dress funny for a guy."

Man or not, he *giggles* like a woman..and his hand travels to ruffle the young woman's hair..not seeming fazed at all at her words. He seems to be an easygoing sort for a noble, that's for sure. Still, he isn't really concerned. Quite the contrary, he seems to just stretch..popping his back as he does. Gods that carriage ride was a pain on the joints.
"Oh, that's just adorable..but giving away my secrets. Naughty little thing. Still, you have spirit, and I really admire that. I am Aoibara Megumi..who might you be, blossom?"

She tips her head and smiles that wide smile of hers as her hair is ruffled, enjoying the contact from someone not trying to crack her skull. She wasn't so paranoid she suspected anyone who touched her. Nah, that wasn't her style.
"Hana Ran, nice t'meetcha." a number of the students, mostly those more than a couple feet away wouldn't've heard her crack about you being a guy, she's a soft spoken kinda girl, and its days like this that such a thing is an asset. "Secrets is secrets. I talk soft. You're awful pretty for bein whatcha are."
Again that smile, before she reaches into her oddly formed kimono, pulling out a plump red fruit, and offering it out. "Strawberry?"

He just shakes his head..having to decline what she offers, though maybe not for the reason she'd suspect. Still, he does lean over to take her hand with the fruit in it, and kiss the top of it, and if one looks close enough at his expression, one can tell he's male, if for a split second. There's a certain look to a man when he's being a gentleman, even if he's made up to be the most womanly man alive.
"I must respectfully decline, though for my own reasons, dear. In all reality, I'm going to miss my classes if I don't hurry. Regardless of my station, here we are all the same..there is no rank among us until we achieve what must be achieved; assignation to a squad. It's what I'm trying for. My mother is an absolute darling, and she's got such aspirations for me.."
He giggles softly, his right hand rising to the left side of his face, the back of said hand, index and middle finger, brushing just to the side of his lips, the secondary fingers curved, and he giggles, the posture and sound a decidedly feminine gesture. He nods his head then, and smiles a bright smile..
"I must go. If I don't, I'm going to get scolded for being late. Take care, Ran..and good luck! I have a gut feeling you'll rise to the top. I can see how beautiful your soul flowers in your eyes."
And waving, he's gone..walking off to class, after dropping off his things where he's been assigned to stay.

She simply continues to smile, even when the strawberry is turned down. When her hand is taken, she gives him an almost skeptical look, as if expecting to be bitten. However, the kiss to her skin gives her a little jolt. One could liken it to pleasure, though not on any type of extreme level. No, it was more just.. a hint of delight. What woman wouldn’t like being treated like a lady?
“Bye bye.” her head tipped and she turned to watch him head off towards the classroom. That reminded her. It was time for her own class, wasn’t it? Yeah, it was. She brushed aside his compliments. Too often she’d heard them and they’d panned out as empty words. Though there was still that feeling of delight inside her. Moving towards class, she tucked her strawberry away, and headed off. She still had a lot of work to get done, and it wouldn’t get done on its own, after all.

Megumi sighs as he watches the sky. In a sense, he feels as if everything could be answered, by the flowers that blossom in the night sky..called stars. They were, in his mind, a reflection of the land he walked on, the flower fields of the distant worlds, while the flower fields of this world were those that one would walk on in contemplation. He wondered idly if the mortal world had beautiful flowers. It's something to think on.
He gazes down at his sword, musing. A great weakness..? What would that be? Perhaps a deep seated fear, too..but..to pinpoint something like that; could he really do something at will of that nature? Still the sword remains silent..nameless. He sighs again..

Around a half hour or so after the class end, shinrei walks into the academy dorms to pick up his old equipment and the things he left behind before his disappearance in Hueco mundo. As he opens the door to his old dorm he finds one of his students doing as he said before and softly smiles. Walking into the room he looks into one of the closets and takes a small scroll and a box with ink. His eyes move to his "strange" student before curiosity kills him. And so he ask: "Found yer weakness yet oh'odd one ?"
