Kia squealed with delight, her green eyes snapping sharply shut as a goofy smile spread the length of her face. How wonderful it was to be in the company of family again, or at least this female seemed assured that they were so and Kia was inclined to believe her.
"That's marvelous!" she chirped, nodding frantically to emphasize her own point further.
She then began to wonder what she should call this new aqquaintance as a relative for it would be so much more fun to call such a lion a family name rather than one of a normal variety. Although this lioness appeared to be of similar age to Kia she figured that since she knew of her mother that she must be at least a slight elder to Kia. Even if this wasn't so it didn't seem to matter much to Kia's fixated mind. The perfect name for her new friend should be...
"Can I call you Aunty?" her eyes gleamed. the perfect name indeed

(( hahaha XD I love Kia. ))
The goddess's fond smile only brightened at Kia's reaction, pleased to have found someone so willing and accepting of her declaration. It was much nicer than trying to tell the lioness that one half of her family worshipped her, for that wasn't what she wanted- truly, worship helped gods remain in existance, but need due to their domain was another factor and that didn't seem to be dwindling.
"It is," Mtima agreed wholeheartedly, joining Kia in the emphatic nodding, "I like the sound of Aunty, if that's what you want to call me." Her eyes shone, what a wonderful day this had turned out to be. Mtima took a moment to look around thoughtfully, always smiling.
"It's a shame my mate and cubs are not around, you'll have to meet them," she commented brightly, "I'm sure they'd be delighted to meet you." Most of them, anyway. Kilango might not be so friendly if she got a chance to meet the lioness, but Mtima trusted Wahabu and Kiza would be friendly.

Kia's smile grew only wider when the name she had fabricated was accepted. "Indeed!" she said loudly "I do want to call you that. It suits you most wonderfully" she nodded again. Excitement always did get the best of her
Her happiness only swelled up more when Mtima told Kia of her mate and cubs. She immediately grew desirous of eventually meeting them, family always were delightful to visit with, even if they had not met before. Imagine her luck, to have been going on a simple stroll and stumbling across a family member, as Mtima had called her anyways, and what more luck that more from this line were wandering about Africa. Fortune had played on her side today. Kia beamed.
"I would simply love to meet them!" more frantic nods "Do tell me about them Aunty," she adored using the word "Are your cubs younger than me? The same age? Is your mate very wonderful? Is he as lovely colored as yourself? Are your cubs yellow like you? They would be cousins of mine would they not?" her goofy smile slowly slid into a grin as she continued asking questions, her curiosity and joy bubbling across her expression and her manner as her thoughts ran wild at the prospect of her family, which seemed to be growing in numbers by the second

Mtima beamed proudly as Kia asked questions about her family, the euphoria she felt from the situation just was not wearing off. Perhaps later the nostalgia would get to her, but for now Kia's good nature just kept the mood light and happy.
"Cousins, yes, and I'm sure they'd be happy to have you," she replied firstly, smiling and wishing Wahabu were about. Mtima was completely focussed on the good side of things, forgetting about how Kilango might act. "They're younger than you, still just cubs. My son is the same yellow as me, and my daughter is blue- a bit darker than her father."
Her tail swished against the ground contently behind her, "What about your family? Are they anywhere about? Have you a mate?" The goddess looked Kia up and down, she was certainly old enough for a mate and cubs.

She glowed, young cub folk for companions, for family, friends, whatever they were to become. She longed to see them already, she could already picture the yellow one in her mind though the blue one she could easily conjure up a mental image for as well.
After dwelling on the idea of cousins for a while her harmonious thoughts were somewhat stirred by the questions sent back at her. Her smile faded slightly, ashamed as she was at the answers that she was about to give back.
"I don't know where my family is exactly... my father is likely to be nearby though I know not exactly where. My mother, who you seem to know better than the rest, I haven't seen since my childhood and she is as much of a rogue as myself so I have not the slightest inclination of where she may be... the same goes for my brother, he is my age and I hope he is doing well also." She blushed slightly at the word mate for she had never once before thought of the idea of one and earnestly replied "no ma'am I haven't a mate..... nor inclination of becoming part of such a pair anytime in the near future."

Mtima'safi didn't look at all surprised by Kia's description of her family, most especially when it came to her mother being a great wanderer. It certainly sounded like one who had the feather, cross and eyes. She laughed when Kia explained her status and current opinion on the subject of mates.
"Well, I'm sure your family is doing well," she replied optimistically, nodding to emphasize the point, "and your inclination may change farther in the future, love is a wonderful thing." The goddess sighed dreamily.

Kia seemed slightly settled at the idea of her family's well being. Her family's safety had always been a primary concern of hers and somehow hearing somebody else speak that they must be doing well, even if it was only to give her ease and even though she had only met this lady for the first time today, made her feel quite a bit relaxed
At her next comment however Kia couldn't help but squish her nose up in a childlike fashion. "Horse pocky" she said, sticking her tongue out on instinct rather than knowledge in a rather childlike fashion, especially for one of her age "Although that may suit you very nicely the idea is not for me..." This subject may not have been Kia's expertise however, for since her youth she viewed those of the male gender as friends if anything, but any farther was only a nuisance. Falling in love seemed almost like a trap for Kia, if she fell into the trap who knew when she would be able to move again.... to roam freely. How would she ever see the whole wonderful world if there was a googly eyed male holding her back. She couldn't stand for the idea. Nothing good seemed to come from love in Kia's mind. She hadn't experienced it.... therefore it was useless.

Mtima laughed openly at Kia's reaction to the possibility of ever falling in love and enjoying it. It was good to be independant, but sometimes you can't help when you fall in love. After all, it wasn't like Mtima had planned to find love in a mortal, but she did. Perhaps there would be someone for Kia that suited her personality and life style, someone who would not hold her back but go with her.. If that day ever came, surely they would have another good laugh about it.
"That may be," she admitted, there was no use saying it would happen with absolute certainty- some just were happy to be the way they were, and stayed that way. Mtima would not try to force the notion upon someone content to do without.
"What do you spend your time doing?" Mtima asked curiously, always smiling.

"Running" she answered simply with slight smile. Nothing else really occupied Kia's time, for the time when Kia wasn't running she was simply searching for another stretch of land for her feet to fly against. Running was like living to Kia, with each pattering of paw like the constant beating of her heart; like a symphony, of which Kia was the sole instrument. This was how she had lived thus far.
A good humored smile played across Kia's lips as she playfully responded "and you like sleeping" she chuckled quietly, her expression seemed to want of a more accurate response from Mtima for though Kia found her sleeping at first she was sure somebody that seemed so interesting had better way to occupy thier time

"Running," Mtima repeated after Kia with a smile, glancing to Kia's lean form as if to verify the comment. It was a healthy hobby to have, at least. "An interesting choice of hobbies." She grinned, and it widened when Kia suggested that the goddess liked to sleep.
"Sleeping is one way of relaxing," she explained, "But it's not the only thing I spend doing. When my family is not around, I like to explore. Travel, if you will, but not quite like running." It might seem odd that she could travel so quickly, but she left that up in the air. Going to the mountains and back, for example, hadn't taken her a great deal of time- it's especially easy when you can fly.

"Exploring!" she grinned enthusiastically as the word leapt from her lips. "That's second on my list of favorites, to running of course" she nodded a couple of times, her green eyes flitting about her as if she was looking for a particular landmark that she had visited, but realized that her view was obstructed almost completely by trees.
"Not quite like running though?" this part made little sense to her "do you walk?" Kia saw no sense in walking, but she supposed it could be pleasant and not quite as tiring of course, but it wasted away the daylight so quickly... there's not much good in daylight wasted.

Mtima grinned brightly at the lioness, following her gaze towards some trees and back again. Then when Kia questioned her running comment, she laughed.
"No, I didn't mean it like mode of transport, though I don't always run," she admitted, "I meant more it's not the same as just going out for a good run." Exploring within one territory was best at a walk, especially if you meant to stay there. But travelling from point A to point B was often best at a run or, in the case of the goddess, by flight.

she smiled and nodded, understanding what she meant now.
"This is true," she said with a smile, slightly turning about what Mtima said when she opened her mouth again "running is good indeed. very good." She smiled blankly.
Kia wondered, if Mtima enjoyed exploring so much then perhaps she would know about a particular place that was of Kia's interest. It was near-by and by no means hidden. Kia had long been curious about this place but never conjured enough courage to go there herself for fear that it was not as majestic as it appeared from afar.
"Say Aunty, how much do you know about pride rock?"

"Pride Rock?" Mtima asked, sounding slightly surprised at the question presented by the young lioness. Her head turned in the direction she knew the rock to be, it was a definete landmark for the area and a beautiful place- both at a distance and up close. In her opinion, anyway.
"I can't say I know a great deal about it, but I've been to it," she explained brightly, "The royal family of the Pridelands lives there, and there are some others who live nearer to it than we do. It is beautiful."

Kia's eyes sparkled as she imagined its beauty up close, but she paused her daydreaming momentarily to wonder about the other things said
"royal family?" a quizzical expression lighted to her face as she wondered "Do you mean they rule that rock?" she bit her bottom lip. Indeed it would be an interesting situation. She had never seen anything royal before, but she supposed if any lion were to be fit to the title of royalty that they should live at that rock that was the single structure silohuetted against the horizon for miles. The rock itself seemed royal.
