Eponine smiled at Shee, hoping to elict one back. She'd heard that in humans, smiles were contagious. Or was that laughter? Or vomiting? Something like that...
"Okay, let's go," she said with as much cheerfulness that she could muster in a green monster suit. Even with her considerable acting skills, it was near impossible for her to fake any enthusiasm for the upcoming event.
She reached the bonfire ahead of the others, cheered by the sight of the warm glow. It wasn't as heartening to see, however, the multitudes of humans there. Her curiosity about these strange human customs, however, overwhelemed the paranoia for the moment. "Hey, look, a monster," she said excitedly, tugging on Estrelas' arm and pointing to Aislynn with the other hand. She failed to realize the irony of her statement.

((Or was it the flu?))
Estrelas nearly buckled laughing at Eponine's statement. "Yaaa, a munsta, like you," she teased, freeing a hand to give Eponine's shoulders a few cheerful pat. The sight of the blazing bonfire cheered her too, sending little shudders of warmth almost like the golden reds cast onto everyone by the dancing flames.
Estrelas' eyes danced even more vibrantly than the combustion of oxygen and carbon compounds. "Thees mah n' Angel furst Pooky Day," she said. "Ees daare (there) a tradation? Ah neva read no fiya..."

Moira had left Estrelas and Eponine to talk to Shee; she had other matters on her mind. Like, y'know. The irishman Estrelas had mentioned. She glanced around, teeth dug into her lower lip, and then sighed, shaking her head.
She turned, and followed them to the bonfire, eyes still dancing around uneasily. Moira saw the fire, and grinned a little. Warmth! She walked over to the fire boldly, and sat down. She never had a fear of fire. She instead had a philosophy: If you respected the fire, it'd respect you.
The philosophy of a fire eater, but still...

The fire was heartening; it provided a warmth that was as much from the actual flames as the buzzing humanity engulfing it. As Moira sat down in front of it and Estrelas and Eponine teased a poor girl dressed as a banshee, Wraith silently pulled Shee aside, away from the chatter.
"You are not OK. something's wrong. Very wrong."
"No, it's nothing really. It's..."
"Why won't you tell me? It's tearing my insides apart, not being able to help you!"
"I don't need any help, Wraith! I don't need you to always try to fix everything!"
Wraith pulled back, stung.
"But..."
The crackling of the flames filled up the void of silence that followed.

Estrelas continued to giggle at the Banshee. Really, it was an excellent costume, and she looked GREAT in it. Bound to scare away all the puci.
"Say, Epo-naine, are we all gonna beh Trick and Treating? Ah suppose that be fun," she said, imagining the candy. "Did you know, sugar was rare for us? Candy was a Christmas present; now Ah see it bein' given out like this, eet's SHOCKING," she said. "But in a good way, no?" She smiled, revelling in the warmth. Angel wiggled around. Like most domesticated rabbits, the breeding had taken out much of their instincts... She still spook, dug, and detested dogs and anything bigger than her, but the fear of fire? No, long, cold, hungry winters huddled in front of the family fire that conditioned it out of her.
Estrelas suddenly heard the two siblings arguing and jumped, nearly leaping onto Eponine.
"No Ok... Something's wrong, very wrong..."
She cocked her ears to listen, and so did Angel. Shee's outburst somehow seemed so uncharacteristic, Estrelas jumped again, hugging Angel close.
"...'Ponaine, wot do you know about... See?"

Aislynn noted the strange faces in the crowd as she made her rounds. Curious to see new people at a Samhain Eve event, and even moreso to note that they were not of Irish blood! Such an unusual circumstance, for this was oft a more religious event, at least in symbolism. Of course, Aislynn was very well versed in the lore of her people, as well as the holidays and traditions that they held dear.
Part of her was quite pleased to see that her costume was going over so well. Many of the participants has expressed surprise at how well her costume had been designed, much to her delight. It was satisfying to see that these strangers felt the same way, pointing and discussing her costume. While she might not have been able to hear the words they spoke, if their intention had been malicious, Aislynn would have known.
The young Irish woman struck up a conversation with a nearby person, keeping in mind that she positively must speak with these strangers later. They seemed like such interesting people!

The moment Estrelas noted that Aislynn noticed them staring, she did something very Eponine-like.
"Bene' Papou!" she exclaimed and leapt up- again. "'Ponine, Ah believe she notices us..." She discreetly tried to hide behind Eponine but didn't succeed. Instead, she peevishly looked at Aislynn, admiring her Irish good looks and costume.
"Ah'll jist pretend Ah dun speak any English," she whispered to Angel and Eponine.

Unfortunately, Eponine was even more Eponine-like, and thus also wanted to do Eponine-like things.
"What? Where?" Eponine tried to not so discreetly run around behind Estrelas, trying to pull her around as a shield. "Don't let the monster eat me!" she wailed, cowering down behind her friend.
All thoughts of Shee's troubles were forgotten.

She was nervous, per usual. Samantha West was always nervous. Whether it was simply ordering a pizza to eat over the phone, or having to audition herself for LOTUS, as she had done several months ago. Goodness, had it already been so long? She'd yet to go on a mission, but... That was her own fault, of course. Too scared messing things up, too worried about LOTUS realizing the mistake they had made when they had let her join up...
Ah, and she was rambling, even in her own thoughts! Nervously looking around for someone, anyone!, that wouldn't be annoyed by her presence, she tugged at the shirt of her halloween costume.
Ever the romantic and lover of books, Sam had purposefully chosen a flamboyent, somewhat risque costume. A pirate princess, she fancied herself. With bell sleeves, a tightly laced corset, and skirt that left much of her pale, slender legs exposed, she topped it all off, quite litterally, with a large, frilly hat, bright red feather stuck into it jauntily. Her make up was done in dark reds and blacks, to match her leather and lord knew what else get-up.
Her knee-high red-laced boots clicked on the floor as she eyed the various foods and drinks, deciding that a single glass of wine wouldn't do any harm. If anything, she thought as gold eyes scanned the room again, it might even help!

Moira heard, though it was muffled, the siblings argue, and frowned quietly, glancing over. It was over just as fast as it had begun, though, and she turned herself back to the fire.
She wasn't purposefully ignooring anyone else, oh no. She was just cold, that's what she kept telling herself. Too cold. Stupid costume. What's worse was she couldn't say it'd gone to waste.
Wraith had an amusing reaction. The girls seemed to be... Amused? By it. She pulled her cloak tighter around her, and stared at the fire silently, thoughtful.

Estrelas yelped and even more discreetly tried to hop behind Eponine's bif fuzzy monster costume. "Monster? That's a monster? Ah though it be a REGULAR hamuan (human)!" she exclaimed, her bunny ears flopping around excitedly. "Bene' Papou!" she muttered. "Mama told me naught to stare," she muttered and did more Eponine-like things by trying to put the real Eponine in front of her like a human SACRIFICE!

If Eponine had been a human!Eponine and not a robotinamonstercostume!Eponine, she might have calmed down vaguely at Estrelas' declarement that the monster was in fact a human.
Of course, Eponine was a robot in a monster costume, and not a human - and thus was scared out of her wits even by a human in a monster costume. "AAAAAAAAAAH - " She abandoned Estrelas, instead ducking behind Moira, Samantha (who she didn't even know!), and finally settling behind Shee. "Save me from the monster person!"

Richard basked in the bon-fire's glow, his eyes reflecting its warmth as he took in the passerby. It had been an awfully long time since the man had attended an event like this, but one look at the enthusiastic crowd had sent him immediately to ease- this was precisely where he wanted to be.
'Of course, there are... issues.' he mused.
Suddenly dubious, the figure smoothed out an awkward crease in his costume; he had never really had to sew anything before, and had been thrilled to find the final result wasn't absolutely unusable. So he had come dressed appropriately, in the worn, faded garb that spoke of watery decay; he was an unfortunate drowned long-ago, and in shadow even looked the part- unprofessional costume or no. Besides, in the darkness the little knots and seams marring his character were practically invisible. In fact, Richard felt genuinely proud- or would, if he didn't know better ways to spend time enjoying a good party.
Glancing back over his peers, the man stepped away from the flame and slid into the crowd with a friendly, charismatic air. He had, after all, come here hoping to meet people.

Estrelas clutched Angel to her breast and looked around wildly as Eponine 'flew' away.
"Eponine, people not like?" she called and edged away from the fire.
"Miss Sheeee, you feel better?" she asked casually. "Sah Wraith, sm'one said there be MarshieMallows," she said. "Ah never had Marshiemallow before but they said it good. Where we find?"

"Please calm down, you two! I'm sure the monst- I mean, person doesn't appreciate your fuss."
Wraith laughed as Estrelas' marshmellow question slipped out of her mouth.
"I'll get us some marshmallows, don't worry. And then I'll show you how you eat them properly."
Shee nodded at Estrelas.
"I think I feel better. Marshmallows always make me feel better anyways."
"Why don't you all get to know some of the people here? It seems like a good opportunity. I'll be right back- with marshmallows." Wraith slipped into the crowd and out of sight.
