For a long time he'd felt that the world had abandoned him. He was alone, with none he could even call 'friend', and eventually it had grown to be too much. He'd roamed for months, searching... How strange, how ironic that he should find what he was looking right where he started his wandering.
The feel of the pale mare next to him, her soft fur on his neck... it was almost too perfect to believe. Khairi caught himself holding his breath, afraid to break out of the moment and back into reality, and it took more than a little effort to breath again. When he spoke, his voice was soft, almost inaudible.
"I was waiting for the right one, little ghost."
Khairi's pale eyes focused on Death's small form. She was so beautiful, so wonderfully perfect, both inside and out. It was almost painful, how much he loved her.
"But I think I've found her now." Quite joy filled his words, and he couldn't supress the smile that crept across his features. Nothing mattered now... only that she was by his side.

Death had met friend after friend, but she hadn't been looking this entire time for them. She'd been looking for him, that had been the only thing the little mare had wanted since she'd first met him, was to lay eyes on him again and nuzzle next to him.
And he felt the same way? HE felt the same way about her that she felt about him? Was this.... even real?
Lifting her head to look into his eyes again, Death felt like she could have cried from joy, he'd been waiting for her just as she'd been waiting for him.
"Khairi..." the little winged mare buried her face into his neck and took a deep breath, filling her lungs and steeling herself for what she was about to tell him. "I love you.. I have since I first met you... please don't go again?"
To be honest, at this point Death wasn't even sure she could take him leaving, she'd probably go with him.

Her words filled him with a fierce, desperate love; he would never leave, not when they had just found eachother... He knew that same fates that brought them together could tear them apart again just as easily. But until such a time he would make the most of every moment, of every second they were together.
Leave her? Even the thought put a damper on his soul.
"I'll never leave you, ghost." He stepped back from her so that he could look her in the eyes. Such lovely, silvery eyes... "I couldn't. I've been looking for you since I last saw you..." He hesistated, uncertain how to say what he was feeling. So many emotions, too much to put into words alone.
"... and now that I've found you..." Khairi nuzzled her softly and said the only thing he could think of. His voice was soft but clear, eyes focused intently on the small mare.
"I love you. I want to be by your side for as long as I live."
