Crazy Bananna Balderdash! Utter balderdash! A child with tarot cards is like a puppy with a bone; harmless, unless the puppy is rabid or the tarot cards are coated in lead. I whole-heartedly agree... There are many children who can read quite efficiently though. I think perhaps that children with tarot cards are a good thing. My mother bought me my first deck around age 10 and I've been practicing and honing my fortune telling skills since then. I've still not got all of my decks memorized or anything though... But I don't see what's wrong with kids with tarot. Only a closed-minded b*****d would say such rotten things. What does that make me if I had tarot cards when I was younger, come to think of it? Some common "charlatan"? I think not. Not everyone is to understand it though, and I don't expect them to. Simpletons. stare

I hate how the media depicts witches. It pisses me off.
They make us look like fools, mumbling rubbish with fake fireworks popping out of our palms... stare

I get this kind of crap from my Dad all the time. I've tried to point out the difference between black and white magick but he says all magic is black because the bible says so. Excuse me a moment while I go a bit off topic. It's interesting to note that the only biblical references against Witches are in the Old Testament. And most Christians will tell you the rule sin the Old Testament no longer apply. The few that think the Old Testament is relevant quickly change their minds when you quote passages such as Leviticus "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." or Leviticus And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you. They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Suddenly the Old Testament is irrelevant, but witches are still evil. *sigh* I'm sick of living in a Catholic houshold

The general spirit of clean living to bring you closer to God still is. It's what Jesus replaced it with in the New Testament. I'm hardly qualified to give you an official ruling on magick, but I really get the feeling they'd count that as something that interferes with your relationship with God.

stupid narow minded ones. they take any excusse at all to start shouting 'the word' when they should realize, fiction, pretend, and playtime are NOT evil. my parents dont want me to play dungeons and dragons because 'its occult' the only magic thing i see is when you say 'i want to cast magic missile at that kobold' which is the same thing you do when playing a videogame as a mage charicter. these people just want to start arguments, nothing else.

As far as the media goes, they'll bend words and images of people/things just to get the biggest percent of the general public to agree with them. Despite the fact that America has to be politically correct all the time, they just want to please the biggest population of the people, unless they can't get away with it.
I gave up christianity for the fact it was closed-minded and pretty much said that asking questions and wondering things beyond what are pretty much pointed out in the bible are wrong. The biggest thing that pissed me off was that they believed a man whom was good with reiki and other psionic abilities was a human version of god when Jesus, himself, staded some pretty good points and they've taken everything he's said way too far.

Ok..all the things in my opionon that are wrong in this jerk's statement..with minimum cursing...
1) Predicting the future is something gypsies normally do and some people with the magical abitlity do. It is not, in any way shape or form black magic. If your going to call it that at least get the freakin definition right.
2) True. The occult and supernatural shows are normally on at night when kids would be asleep, 9 and up. But jeez, parents get into it worse then there kids half of the time do. Calling the people to actually see what there stupid future holds? My opionon, if you can see the future you wouldn't go on a t.v. show just to say I can do this for 3 - 5 dollars. Tell you everything you want to know. I for one with many supernatural abillites find that very...VERY discusting.
3) When the hell did it start becomming a big deal? After kids had there parents lined up for what? A movie, or book? Just because people are starting to become interested in this stuff others are freaking out. What the hell do you think an 8- ball is for? To predict your future. So what, gonna take away those too?
4) Not to bomb any religion. But Christians and those alike seriously need to get over the occult and witchcraft and the supernatural and anything. Most people won't like it if I say this, but Jesus turned water into wine people. So what is that not magic or an ability? Mary got pregenent by "supposly" being a virgin. Is that not a type of magic? If people can do magic it's because you God gave it to them. So you have an issue with it? Take it up with him. No offense to everyone but it's the freakin truth.
5) Anyone who is a witch or wiccan is suppose to follow the wiccan ride. And don't question me on that either I use to be one for freakin 6 years and I am still involved with helping the wiccan community. I know my stuff here. It directly STATES : Thou shall do no harm to others or it will be returned to you by 3, some say 3 and 10 fold. Now, though like always they are people who break that rule it doesn't mean all witches are bad. Just because you can't understand them, don't mark them that way.
6) Potential Harm...Potential freakin harm? Harm because you might have a few people who step up and say that witchcraft isn't bad at all? Oh yeah, your just trying to protect your own a**.

talk2hand That was some of the dumbest stuff I've ever heard of. Obviously these people need to look at their own religions before criticizing someone else's. If I'm not mistaken, there are several symbols used in the Christian faith that originated from Pagan beliefs. And I can't think of anyone I know who would think of Harry Potter as anything more than excellent reading material that has been made into one entertaining movie after another.
