Emerwyn smiled at this. If there was one thing they could always count on Emerwyn for, it was her hope. Hope for the future, hope and faith. She inspired it in all of them. It was one of the things that held them together, when there was so much that could tear them apart.
It was times like this on the Island that reminded Emerwyn of who she was. The hope returned only in shadows these days, but it was people like Liamh who reminded her why she even bothered to remember. And maybe, she'd be able to find it again.
She picked up a small, smooth stone of her own. It skipped twice, and on the third jump, it sank into the cool waters.

Liamh's rock sank after about half a skip, and he scowled. He leaned over, searching for a better one. Flatter, wider, more discus-like. We have the technology! Liamh smirked, grabbing one.
Skip, skip, ploonk!
Skip! Poosh.
Liamh glanced over at the deer-girl and grinned. "Bet i can skip farther." He held up a couple of smooth, flat pebbles challengingly.

Emerwyn smirked back. What else did a lonely, cooped-up English girl do aside from get lost in literature? Why, she hung around the small lake that was down the creek from her home, and skipped stones while listening to the trees. It had been a long time, but her new hands seemed to aid in the stone sliding seamlessly from her hand, gliding parallel with the glassy surface.
*skip, skip, skip* *Plunk!*
*skip, skip* *Plunk!*
*skip, skip, skip..........*
