i think there are more girls that read manga, my school has hardly any boy that read it, but there are a lot of girls that do.

Funny, my friends and I had a debate about this...we concluded that it was more like 55-45 (Girls to Guys) ratio ...and in Japan, there are DEFINETLY more guy manga readers then female.

Girls are more into reading than guys. Possibly, it just seems that way.

It seems to be the other way round over here... Guys here are mad about anime and manga, whereas the girls are mostly idol-crazy.

More of my friends who are seriosuly into anime/manga seem to be girls. I'd say it's 60/40. Thats just the peope I know ^^

Lina_Kitosaki I think that's not entirely true... It depends where you look! ~nya 3nodding agreed, at my school hardly any girls even know about anime and manga, and those who do, think its really stupid, but almost all the boys in my grade like manga.

Maybe the reason it seems there are more female readers than male readers is because 60-70% of the time, if you randomly pick up a manga off a shelf it's a romance series (well, it seems that way--I kinda exaggerated sweatdrop )
--and when I say romance, I mean Kare Kano/Kare First Love/Absolute Boyfriend romance; as compared to the kind of romance both sexes can get into, like Love Hina :XP:

hmm i know quiet a few guys that read manga..but generally yes..there are more girls..most of the time xd i think it depends on where you are...when i lived in Kansas City...there were a LOT of people that loved manga...and most of them were guys...maybe i just never saw the girls....

That is so true! My entire school has more guys than girls...over half of the girls read manga only one boy!
