Ms. Trendie I didn't know about it till now but it's so sad and those people just piss me off! Those people wouldn't like it if they were getiing killed instead of the seals. How can killing poor animals be FUN? I believe it's something like the thrill of the chase.

The main character is this old grumpy man. He's in an animal rescue group. One of the group member catches a stray cat off the streets of new york on Christmas Eve and the old man fosters the cat until it finds a home. The cat ends up being grumpy and stubborn just like him. He gets attached to the cat and keeps it. It's about some of his adventures with the cat and the animal rescue group. You might be able to find a better summary of it online.

I don't think I'll go look it up or anything, but I'll remember the name and buy it if I come across it. It's a non-fiction book, right?

People that do that..... They can not be changed!! It's truely unfortunate! It makes absolutely no sense for people to torture animals the way they do... It's DISCUSTING!!!

Overseer of Blasphemy OMG THOSE PPL WILL DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scream Some times i Get really mad when i find out an animal was abused. Or that humans are causing global warming. It makes me think, People are like a Cancer they are living but should they be alive? All we do is destroy (generaly) I mean Humans are going to bring this world to an end. Just like a cancer it takes over, spreading it's evil!! But I guess not all humans are like that, But everyone of us has polluted in some way or another. If humans did not exsist our world would live much longer. If you take out humans you take out the cancer. OR all humans could just STOP POLLUTING!!! stare yah right
Poor World!!!

I've been aware of this situation for a LONG time. My mom worked with and supported the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) to stop this brutal hunt. She was with them for ten years until the Canadian Government finally banned it. They've decided to start it back up again. The young seals don't have the furry coat for long, so they must be killed while VERY YOUNG. It's terrible. Most of the time a mother seal with die while trying to protect her baby. The hunters will just beat them to death with a club, then go for the baby. It isn't uncommon to hear of the hunters skinning them alive. Another disturbing fact: A majority of the pelts go to making tourist gizmos and things much like "lucky rabbits feet", ony it's a lucky seal pelt. The seal wasn't that lucky is you ask me. My family doesn't buy any Canadian products in efforts to make a statement for the government. If enough people don't buy their goods on account of the seal hunt and sign enough petitions, the consumers' and protesters efforts will be able to prevent the seal slaughter.
