Foxtrot2Sierra MafroPetee yepp, i play lead guitar in a metal band. iron maiden is one of my biggest influences, along with avenged sevenfold and dragonforce. im pretty damn good, as far as people tell me. my favorite maiden song to play is run to the hills, because its so simple yet so fun. i love the whole galloping sound. and the solo is pure genious. i want really badly to do a cover of it with my band. if anyone cares, i currently have an esp ltd viper-400... its black with grover tuners, emg 81/85 active pickups, tonepros stoptail bridge. right now it has elixir extra light nanoweb strings. but i want to switch them out for dr extralife blackbeauties. cuz black strings would look awesome. ohh, and it has a coheed sticker below the bridge. just thought i would mention that. i use dunlop tortex .75mm picks, monster cables, and my amp is a line 6 spider II 75watt. i freakin love that amp. My bro and I use the Line 6 Spider II as well, but we've had ours for years and the distortion has deteriorated. sad well you can always buy a not-so-expensive distortion pedal. they have some really good ones out there. kinda sucks that that happened though, cuz those amps have incredible distortion emo

Ah well. He's looking to buy a new rig anyway, as soon as the Spider II blows.

I'm sure exactly, lmao. It weighs a ton though...I'm thinking for some reason it's a 60W, but the reason I don't know is that he doesn't let me touch that thing. Lemme get back to you on that...I think it's a 60... Anyway, I DO know what guitar he plays! It's a Jackson Warrior smile I play guitar too, though not as much as my brother. I have a little Peavy amp for my Jackson RRV and a Traynor for my LTD B-50 bass smile We're looking into getting a Marshall for him, and probably a Behringer or a Hartke for me to replace the Traynor which is ancient.

Hm, maybe I'm confusing it with something else, but like I said, I don't use his amp so I don't know it other than the fact that it is dying hahaha. Behringer's pretty good, but Hartke's got some nice amps too. That's what my boyfriend uses.

I always wanted to be a drummer, but the drums are to expensive, so now I'm a vocalist in a black metal band called RITUAL SMOKE.

That's cool! My boyfriend's a techie as well...he loves everything to do with bands, from making the music to doing the behind-the-scenes stuff. I've done a bit of roadie work myself. I used to make a lot of money doing that for my friends' band a few years ago over the summer. I was a pretty rich 12-year-old, hahaha. Doing roadie work is how I discovered that I fit inside a cab case. Well, on a different note, I've been given the task (by my music teacher at school) of arranging Christmas carols Trans Siberian Orchestra style. Anyone have any ideas of what would be a cool Christmas carol to do in such a fashion? I'm thinking of Carol Of The Bells...

I'm teaching myself how to play guitar. I've been playing for about a year. I'll admit I'm not that good yet and I can't play much. I don't know chords or scales I just play from my intuition, listening to music and some tabs. I learned some things from my uncle but I learned some things like bends on my own. I made my first song! It has no words but i think it sounds cool.
I hate people who bring a guitar to school one day, stumble their way through Iron Man...and are awed by people (hehe...somebody has done that before sadly). Bring a guitar to school and do what that guy did and you will be popular for a day ^__^.
I plan on learning some scales and some power chords first and then I will start a band. I also used to play keybord...but I forgot how to play and read music. crying I used to be able to play every christmas song. Music is my life!

Wow, you're just like me. I too play bass, and a tad of everything else for fun. I play bass (obviously) and sing lead for my power/thrash band Hellfire, and we are so ******** Maiden influenced! I use a lot of Harris' 1-6-7-1 and 1-6-3-7 bass progressions and gallop rhythms. We, like every other band, have covered The Trooper, but we know bits of practically every song of theirs. Maiden's harmony lines are amazing, and we tend to emulate those too (not like that shitty screamo junk tho). Man, I could go on forever, but I'm at my girlfriend's house... so, we should probably go fool around!

My brother and I used to play in the hallways with some of our friends. Good times, good times. Sadly they've all graduated and there's just little me left. And it sucks playing by yourself lol

How long you have been playing. few years now Iv been playin the electric guitar -Are you in a band? yes! The Mangaka Maidens -Ever covered a Maiden song? no, but thinkin about it -What Maiden songs do you know? Fear of the Dark -Worst Maiden cover you have ever heard. A band covered the Prisoner and it sounded awful -Lots of other things along those lines you can find my band HERE. We will have some demos up soon smile
