Herald
9.30.06

When you come upon the scene, it is a weak and dying Herald that you find, unable even to stand. A few scattered feathers on the ground are the only remnants of the wings it once possessed. It has come to this place to die...or be saved? That, of course, is up to you.

You are alone when you find the angel. The Heralds have long gone unsaved, and though it appears to you, it does not hold much hope of living on. Near to where the two of you meet rests a grey stone slab that the angel seems desperate to reach. With your help, the Herald climbs upon it, needing something from you to save its life. What will you choose to give it? And what significance does that item hold for you? Is it a family heirloom? Something you happened to have on hand? Something you'd purchased earlier that day? A lucky charm?

You may have noticed that many details have been left off. This is because we want you to have plenty of freedom to develop the scene yourself. Consider time of day, weather, season, etc. when you post.

It was cold. Not freezing, but cold enough for a light snow to be falling. Odd, considering it was only early October; it was nice.

Cirisse walked quietly through the forest to her home; obviously in a deep trance. It was midnight, yet she was not tired .. just thinking. What was she thinking about? It's hard to put into words. Life in general, I suppose. It's one of those moments where you're in deep thought, yet you're not exactly thinking about anything specific, so when someone asks you, "What are you thinking about?" You're just like, "I dunno, man."

A little off topic.

It was then, walking through the forest, that Cirisse heard a very faint cry. Sensitive to sound, it snapped her out of her trance like state, and she looked around curiously. Wait a minute, where the hell was she? It appeared Cirisse had been so busy thinking, that she had run off course to her home. As she continued walking, the sound got louder. Curious, Cirisse decided to follow the faint cries, until she came upon a beautifully dreadful scene. There was a small clearing, surrounded be trees obviously. In the middle was a pond surrounded by rocks; near it was a large, flat rock. Laying on a portion of these rocks was a person .. surrounded by feathers?

Then it hit her.

An angel.

Cirisse hurridly rushed over to the fallen angel, kneeling down and gently moving the hair from her beautiful face. She was dying, and Cirisse had no idea what the hell to do. Looking at the angel frantically, then to the pond, she cupped some water into her hands, then brought it near the mouth of the angel.

No, that wasn't it.

Letting the water fall from her hands, Cirisse gently wiped the cool water against the forehead of the angel. What was wrong with her? Why was she dying? Her wings .. her wings are gone; angels can't live without their wings.

Duh!

The angel made a faint whimper. Looking down into the misty grey eyes of the angel, Cirisse prayed she would give her a sign of how to save her - the angel that is. The fallen beauty moved the arm that was supporting her head, and pointed weakly at the large, flat rock near her.

"The rock .." Cirisse casted a glance towards the rock.

With nothing else coming to mind, she gently picked up the angel and carried her over to the rock. Allowing the angel to weakly crawl out of her arms, she backed off slightly. The angel would die soon, and she knew that. What was she supposed to do? She couldn't replace the angel's wings.

.. Or could she?

Not know what exactly she was going to do, she dropped to her knees and looked through her bag. Grabbing the first thing she saw, she went to place it beside the angel, then actually took a look at the item.

It was a necklace on black rope. A small bottle, wrapped in silver was the main ornament. Silver angel wings hung from the bottle - inscription on the back saying "RIP; I Will Always Love You ..." in cursive. Inside the bottle was a photograph of a couple; the boy with tanned skin, bright blue eyes and light brown shaggy hair .. the girl with fair skin with dark brown eyes and dark blonde shoulder length hair. Finally, hanging from the necklace was also six piece of stone. Tiger's Eye to be exact; three on each side of the bottle.

Cirisse had never really known much about the necklace. All she knew, was it was something regarding her past life .. according to a crazy psycho psychic woman.

Placing the necklace gently beside the angel, she stepped back.

Moments, and nothing happened. Before long a soft breeze tickled the angel's hair, and the necklace and angel came in contact. A bright light surrounded the object and the angel; before long Cirisse found herself nearly blinded.

Shielding her eyes from the light; she squinted and tried to look past the light to see what was happening.

No; this couldn't be a trick of the light.

Was the angel .. floating?

Yes, she was. She was floating slowly towards the heavens.

Before long, Cirisse began to feel weak, and eventually .. blacked out.
