Dear Diary:
The other day I went to visit Teki and an injured child she'd found at the hospital. At first things seemed normal and we enagaed ina bit of chitchat as well getting the poor fledgling ( soem sort of human blue jay cross) some grape jello and whipped cream. It was all rather pleasent untill we went outside, then things got odd. The strange presence I'd been feeling since about halfway through the visit turned out to be a leaf, a leaf that according to the child named Raven may become a child like her.
I'm convinced this is some sort of test and it is one I cannot fail. If I have been entrusted with a child then test or not though I will do my best to raise it as well as I was myself. It is moments like this though that make me wish that I had known more than just battle for the majority of my three-hundred years. I was a child once yes but I have a very skewed idea on how I was raised on what I should and shouldn't do. I do so wish I could have my parents here for guidance right now.
On a brighter note, whatever lives within the leaf is pleased with me at the moment. I took a long cardboard strawberry basket and lined it with grass figuring a leaf would want other plant material as a bed. It seems to have agreed and has made no attempts to show me that it wants anything new.

Pash sat on the couch hunched over the coffee table. With one hand he drummed on the tables stained glass surface. Doing so caused the still fresh looking leaf sitting on the table only a few inches away to wriggle in response.
Smiling Pash placed his other hand the one containing a pen down onto the journal before him.
Dear Diary:
In the past week I've made some discoveries about my little green friend. First off he was not sent to me by my superiors, they have however decided that if I can raise this leaf/child they will grant me my wings back at least one set of them.
Secondly I have learned that whatever is inside this leaf is it likes to burrow becuase I keep finding it under all the grass in it's basket or under the laundry.
Thirdly I have learned that sound either entrances it or scared it. I'm not quite sure what that means though.
Most importantly I have discovered that it is nocturnal, awake in the early mornign and late afternoon and evening. It will rise with me if I make too much noise or carry it about but otherwise it seems to sleep happily untill it's normal waking time when it then proceeds to seek out my attention.
~ Pleased with my discoveries

" Pasta sauce is no place for a leaf that isn't basil," Pash said as he snatched his leaf companion in midair. It didn't float anymore really but sometimes like now it would jump into the air and hover for a second or two before landing. Pash considered this behaviour dangerous (after all the leaf couldn't possibly see where it was going) and he worked as hard as possible to keep his little one from danger.
"Stop that Owen no matter how much you struggle I'm not letting you drown or burn yourself just becuase you're curious." In the past day or so Pash had taken to calling the leaf Owen a play on the thought of it being the first thing he could ever truly call his own. Now as he looked down at the squirming leaf he wondered if perhaps he was cut out to possess living beings. No matter what he said or did Owen seemed to have a mind of his own.
" I'll have to call up Tek and have her ask the fledgling if this is normal." he murmmured. Raven as a former leaf child herself ought to know how her kin typically acted.
With a slight sigh he gently placed Owen on the kitchen table far from harm before turnign back to the bubbling pot of red sauce. Hopefully he could finish cooking his meal before Owen managed to make his way back to the stove.

Dear diary:
I participated in the tradition of Halloween this year as did Owen. I sat on my front porch and handed out candy While Owen was somewhat out of place laying on the brim of my scarecrow's hat. He wriggled about a fair bit and seemed interest in several of the costumes. I wonder just how well he can see from inside a leaf. All in all it wasn't a particularly important event for us but it was worth noting.

It had been quite a while since Tyyne had last delivered one of these to a house, but finally she had decided to go on her own. There had been a list at the headquarter and so she had received Pash's address. Gently she placed an orange flowerpot, some fertile soil and a small envelope in front of the door.A letter from Eden
Dear Pash,
I'm not sure if you've heard of us yet, but we're an organization called Eden Project. The leaf you have found is a very special one. It will grow into a child if you take care of it. I know it sounds strange, but that's how it goes. To start the growing process you need to plant the little one. That's why I've attached a flowerpot and the soil. Every leaf seems to react different to this so please be gentle. Feel free to visit our headquarter near Barton Town.
Have a nice day
~Tyyne [ Please roleplay the planting scene to make your leaf develop ]

Pash stared at the pot sitting on his coffee table.. The orange plant pot was sitting there filled with the soil it had come with. He’d read it’s accompanying note and had followed the directions it had given though with some trepidation. Owen already liked to bury himself in things, if he planted him surely the leaf would disappear into the soil not to be seen for possibly weeks.
Still, if this was how things were done Pash had no choice but to follow along. His sea green eyes left the pot and moved to Owen sleeping peacefully in his basket. Feeling guilty about waking him Pash smoothly and carefully as possible lifted the leaf and place it on top of the soil. He figured that despite the directions Owen would probably want to bury himself.
This appeared to be true because Owen began to wriggle around the pot for a moment slowly and drowsily before wedging himself into the dirt and going still again.
“Sleep well” Pash murmured turning to leave his strange leaf child to it’s rest. Perhaps this evening he would stop by the headquarters when Owen was more up to activity and socialising. or as much socialising as a leaf ever did.

Dear diary
Potted leaf children are not entertaining and very worrisome. Is he ok in there, is he bored or just sleeping alot. He wriggles from time to time and on occasion the leaf moves about the pot but not much else. I hope he is fine and that he emerges soon so I can stop worrying.
I also hope I'll know how to deal with whatever he happned to be. There will be envy of a winged child and confusion if it is plant like though I would love him one way or another. Still I hope that whatever my Owen turns out to be is something I can learn to adjust to and work with easily.

A Rose by any other name ( december 30th)
Anao what an odd name and as far as Pash knew it was one with no actual meaning. Still it had been what Owen had chosen and he had to honour that. In his family the child born previous the newest chose their sibling’s name. It connected family members and helped to keep older kids from feeling that they had nothing to do while their parents was pregnant and. A name choser got just as much attention as the person having the baby as both were important to the process as it was believed that the name one was given could help seal their fate.
The naming process itself had been pretty short and sample. Pash has repeated the alphabet and added a letter to the name each time Owen wriggled.
Fingering the gold and glass hourglass Pash smiled a bit at the reflection of himself in it. “ Well little Anao I’m not sure what’s in store for you but let’s hope your brother has chosen a good name?”

Parenting
Pash knew he needed a nursery, he had since he’d gotten Owen but he’d been putting it off because really what did he know about making a nursery. however now faced with the issues of having more than one child on the way he needed to get his as in gear. They’d have to share a room because he had only a two bedroom little house and he really couldn’t afford to move.
Thus he’d have to make the room suitable for both while still keeping it spacious and without going over budget. Elle gave him a small allowance for helping her out with things and he was currently unemployed and not getting too much of an unemployment check. Apparently they only started paying a baby bonus after said expected child was born.
Four hours later found the man hip deep in boxes and bags the room looked like horrible so far but hopefully by the end of the night things would be different. The children to be had needed many things : a changing table, cribs, dressers, blankets, pillows, baby books. He’d left things like bottles, bibs and baby cleaning products for when they were born, then he could ask doctors.
Opening a box containing a dissembled crib he let a small smile creep onto his face. Somehow this act of creating a nursery made it all just a bit more real. One look at the instructions and it hit him all at once. Parenting was not going to be easy.

As you look at the leaf one day it has changed. Two big bulbs are growing out of its side and they are getting larger and larger each day while the leaf appears to become more and more timid in its behaviour. What's going on ?

Pash sat on the couch with Anao on his lap, the pair were watching Owen's leaf with concern and amusement respectively. Pash wondered if this was supposed to happen and even if it was should he be doing something? Was Owen stuck or just taking his time to escape the vegetative prison.
Anao simply giggled softly and resisted the urle to reach out and pet her oddly shaped sibling to be.

And suddenly the leaf looked like it was wilting. Brown spots were spreading across its surface and the bulbs and it really didn't look good. After a while even some fur appeared to spread on the little plant.

Pash watched nervously trying to read the plants life energy but everything was so mixed up that he couldn't tell what exactly was happening. Were this not such an important moment he'd have phoned Tek so he could speak to the little Jay girl about what was going on. As it was he could only watch, of course it somewhat reassuring once fur became sprouting out of the leaf.

What was actually going on ? The leaf started to twitch and it's furry look became more and more intense. Suddenly it started to become smokey in the room. As quick as the smoke had come as thick was it. You were not able to see a single bit, but all the time you heard silent sniffing and scratching. The smoke vanishes just as you're about to panic and reveals a handsome little toddler. Owen has been born.
