Mahayr alianorastar Mahayr alianorastar Ideas!!! I have got them!! Somewhere. I might have misplaced most. I would very much like to see another contest similar to MissSnark's Literary Fiesta-- something ongoing that absolutely requires me to produce a story every couple of weeks, and I get fun reading material out of it as well. Oh yes, I AM selfish! I have other ideas, but I'm short on sleep and coherence. I'll be back later when I can complete a thought process logically. smile Excellent, girlies! Then when we have a decent idea or two we have to find a host/hostess willing to take it on. I know of a couple who are waiting for ideas. We also need to go fund-raising I'm afraid... I have a few ideas about that as well, but it will need volunteers and time, manning the where and all. Have to decide WHERE exactly, as well. Ugh. One is just a simple Trick or Treat thing, the other I have to do myself (message to past donators). Then I just need one more thing to do for the Foundation itself, some to go to the Quest Pool, and some to fund contests (other people's!) I wonder why so few actually come and apply for a Grant in the Charity where... I usually go to them. I am willing to make pathetic attempts at avatar art and donating the proceeds. I am just concerned that I will suck... I've been practicing, though. Sort of. And I'm selling one of my items that actually has a little value, so if it does sell soon I'll give a bit from the proceeds of that as well. Would you be willing to do avatar art for someone who just wants some? Giving it to the Pool to be used as a gift for them, I mean. You are so loyal and generous... You could show me something. What do you do? Send me an example! You can practice, of course, on me! IF you do please be sure to cover my face! Did you see my gallery?? If you think the example I sent you was okay, then I am willing to do avatar art for the pool.

Major Domo I messaged you about it... you didn't get it? Drats. Yes, I really like it. I wanted to suggest a couple of changes, but I am not sure how to do it. I will message you when I feel more up to it. Mahayr Let me know the changes! I won't mind. I am very open to criticism from people I admire or have respect for. If you were a mean chatterbox kid, I would probably tell you where you could stick your suggestions, but youre Mahayr! So it is very much okay. Especially since I finished that after 2 AM and I was very, very tired and getting sloppy with my work. I hope you are feeling okay. I am worried about you! I sent you a PM, but you don't have to respond until you're feeling up to it of course.

Ideas, says you? *scratches head* hrm... I've had a couple of those... remembrance of them pending.... lol.
How about a contest with a color as a prompt? 'Twould be ongoing, of course...
Alternatively, mayhaps, a contest to write a whole (insert length of work) without using a certain letter of the alpahbet. Might also be ongoing, but only for a limited time.
Instead, possibly, a contest focusing around each of the five senses (in turn) such that the specified sense had to be the core of the piece.
Having only started perusing the Writer's Forum in late May, I don't know if any of these has been done before, but eh, some ideas, for the moment... more may be added....

Mayhaps 'twas your original intent, but it would seem prudent to just put all ideas in a single post, and then maybe have people sign up to run those contests....? Not all at the same time necessarily, but just to keep a steady stream of quality contests in the forum. ..just an idea ><

Not all at the same time necessarily, but just to keep a steady stream of quality contests in the forum. ..just an idea >< Yesyes... I will I will! Hahahaha! One of these days or nights. Yes it would be good to hve people sign up to run contests as well. The Foundation could help with funding. My hope was to bring the forum more together, but it seems to be slow-going. Everyone was interested when I was going to have an auction, a few donated some things... but it was mostly Foundation Stuff, and it never came off anyway. I canna do all this work by myself! Pipo did the art auction which was a huhge success, and I still have the LH to finalize and award (s). Then there will HAVE to be a more concerted effort to rake in some funds and donations. Otherwise the coffers are going to go dry. I do have my investments that can be liquidated, and I have already sold a lot of letters, but I reeeeaaaly hate to resort to that. I am holding funds for another event that will be dedicated to only the writers in the OP/L, an invite-only affair. Its planned and ready, but I am waiting for the real do-ers to get a wriggle on. I just do not have the energy to do it myself right now. Also I did not want it to clash with my Last Hurray anyway, so its working out alright as far as I am concerned. I will also be doing some rearranging of staff positions. Current staff people have been unable to be here or do much due to personal circumstances, and again, I can NOT do all of this alone. I can also not afford to become demoralized or upset about anything here. I know that several of you who are -not- on the staff have been helping out a great deal. If anyone has the time, energy, dedication, and desire to be more involved, please let me know. I need help with fund-raising, data-recording, public relations, growth, and management. Send me your resumes! Ha. I really love all of you... kiss

hrm.. a couple things just struck me. After cleaning up the blood and caging them properly, I thought they ought to go here.
1. A parody contest. We pick the poem, the best parody wins. I don't know how you'd judge that.
2. A letter writing contest. Tell a story based on a single letter between two people. Maybe even a correspondence contest, either where the story is told through correspondences alone (poetic, prose, or otherwise) or where each entry is a letter between two characters and is in response to the previous entry.
There's those couple.... oh wait... another's coming here....
3. Okay.. this is demented, and would be chaos in actual execution. The challenge is to write something that is meaningful whether read forwards or backwards. It would likely be easier to do this with poetry, since you have more license to play with wording there.
That's all... for now....

Mahayr You did not answer my last post to you, above your ideas post. sweatdrop I didn't really see any specific question! I am glad you liked the idea of signing up, and thrilled to have probable support from the Foundation. I guess, even though this isn't really the most noticable place to post it, the guild needs a swift kick square in the arse, to help out with whatever they can, and to be more... guildly in general. Um, tell me what you need help with, and I'll see what I can do. Any of the activities you listed are within the realm of my ability, I believe, given instruction of how you wish them done. I've got lots of time. I'm most likely to be gone only during the day hours of the weekend and evening hours of the weekdays. We love you too! Oh, and if the coffers go dry, we are going to have a lot of sore throats around here....

It may have been in the QP where... my memory suffers more under stress. Yes... I had posted links somewhere to everything, something about everyone being more involved... I forget where that is as well. Quote: Um, tell me what you need help with, and I'll see what I can do. If I can only find the post... if not I will re-do, as best I can. Something to do with giving me a list of the ideas that need posted, something else as well, I think. Thank you for that. Lately I have doubted the real validity of everything. Quote: Oh, and if the coffers go dry, we are going to have a lot of sore throats around here.... We will all just have to work smarter. Ha. Ookhehe. This suddenly became more visible. Following your link, I found what you were talking about, I think. I don't know of anyone collecting DC items.... but I have told a couple folks that complain about the abundance of such that they should donate *nods* As for an idea list... gimme a minute (see next post; I'm too lazy to just edit this one....)
