...//GRP - Shop Thread Huni Pi Linneas was crawling around the shop, there were so many interesting things to be found on the floor. Old bits of paper, random shreds of cloth, tiny vermin corpses every now and then.Ning was 'perched' (if a cog could perch) on Linneas' hat, vibrating a little uneasily. 'Dirty, dirty, diiiiirty!' she mentally whined. Syrie Khia was prowling around the stationary shop, little floofy tail wagging behind him like a banner; so much around to sniff at, and to stalk! That, and he was bored. He chuffed about the shop, batting at crumpled pieces of paper, bits of string and various other things as he wandered. Huni Pi Linneas was still gurgling contentedly under a writing table, looking up at the various hardened dirt on the table's underside. And Ning still didn't approve of her bonded's location, 'Dirty.' she whined. Syrie Khia's little nose wrinkled as he bumbled past the child while exploring, the dust made him want to sneeze - but wait! Here, here was this strange thing, and an even stranger thing for a companion! His tail poofed up a little in wariness. Huni Pi Linny blinked at the sudden sensation of fluffy fur against him. He peered into the darkness, letting his eyes adjust to the dim light. "Hu?" he gurgled, crawling towards Kiarhu.Ning vibrated warily as her bonded approached the fuzzy little shadow. Syrie Khia's senses told him that he was in no immediate danger, and the soft sound of the creature moving towards him was completely non threatening. He decided to stay put, reaching a soft little paw out to bat at Linneas experimentally. "Aouu?" His fluffy ears perked a bit with that small vocalization. Huni Pi Linneas blinked at the sound, remembering Runae and wondered if this dark little fuzzy creature was like Aunty Chao's pet. With a pudgy hand, he stroked the offered paw and cooed. "Pazeee." He giggled.Ning wanted to see just how non-lethal this fuzz-ball was and hovered close to Kia. "What you?" the cog asked. Syrie Khia's ears wiggled as he leaned in to sniff at the child more, chuffing softly as he did so. This creature was interesting! The flying thing he didn't quite like, it smelled too...unreal. Despite this, the shapeshifter crept closer to Linny, tail wagging behind him, his head cocked towards Ling - he understood, but could not talk, so he merely chuffed again. " Auu?" Huni Pi Without a second thought, Linneas offered his broom plush to Kia. It was the Tale's way of accepting someone into his social circle. Linny giggled as Kiarhu approached him."No talk?" Ning asked. Syrie The fuzzy black creature sniffed at the plushie, lifting a paw at it and batting gently - here was something he knew about! He had one of these types of things, they were soft and good to cuddle against. His fluffy black tail swished against his legs as he snuggled up to Linneas a bit, shaking his head at Ling's query. "Auuu..." Huni Pi Linneas cuddled against Kiarhu, "Pazeeee." he repeated, dubbing the shapeshifter. It didn't occur to Linny that the fuzzy Tale had another name though. And apparently, neither did Ning. "Pazi?" the fandangle repeated. "Linny," she hovered beside her bonded. Syrie Khia wiggled a little, then flopped against Linneas, tail swishing slowly against the floor as he snuffled and chuffed at the fandangle and the broomplushie. He understood that this childthing was called "Linny" - and for a moment, his little brain thought about shifting into a form more like the child-thing. Huni Pi Ning would flee everytime Khia chuffed at her, she hoped whatever it was wasn't dirty or carried too many germs. She decided she'd have Huni clean her extra long tonight.Linneas giggled happily everytime Khai chuffed, patting and stroking his fur like he had with Runae. Vaguely he wondered where exactly did Pazee come from, was he like Nala and Livi? Did he come from that room too? But since the fuzzy thing couldn't talk, he couldn't ask him directly. Syrie "Aouuu~" His vocalizations had taken a cute, lilting tone to them indicating his contentment with being petted. The strange flying thing - Ling - amused Khia to no end, it kept moving away when he chuffed! Naturally, this only encouraged him to keep at it. The shapeshifter's silky black fur shifted and moved under Linneas' hands, more than would be "normal" for a beast; the reaction mostly unconscious, though Khia's "thoughts" on shifting to be like Linny were probably affecting the fluidity of his form. Huni Pi Linny clapped his hands in delight at the sounds Khia was making. "Pazee fun." he cheered, before noticing something was different about Khia's fur. It didn't feel quite like it did a few seconds ago, which made the infant stroke Khia even more as if that would explain the change in the sensation.Ning was distraught, why wont Pazii stop chuffing at her? "Nooooo." she whined, as if threatening to throw a tantrum. Syrie At Ling's strange cry, Khia's form solidified, as though reminded to stay in one shape - to BE that shape - as he should be. His long pink tongue darted out to lick at Linny's hands, and at the fandangle as well; the shapeshifter's expression one of childlike amusement and mischief. Huni Pi Linneas found Khia's tongue ticklish and opted to immitate him by licking the furry Tale in return. Needless to say the infant didn't quite like the taste of fur in his mouth. "Pllllbbbb." he sputtered. The cog tried to avoid the pink tongue, but at the sight of Linneas licking Khia Ning went ballistic. "Nononononoonononono!!!!" the fandangle squeaked, "Dirty, dirty, dirty!!!"The squeaking Ning made was loud enough to draw Huni's attention. "Linny? Ning? What's going on in here?" she called out. Syrie The fur on the dark tale's back bristled a bit at the sheer amount of commotion Ling was causing, though he was obviously not bristling at Linneas. "Aouuu!!" Khia howled loudly, tail poofed out like a bristlebrush. The commotion was also more than enough to drag Syrie out of hiding, the kitsune peeked his head around a corner, face smudged with graphite and chalk. "What in the world?" Huni Pi Ning wasn't quite finished with her tantrum, at least no until she saw Huni arrive. Quickly she zoomed to the red head, colliding into the woman's chest. "Linny dirty! Linny dirty!" she whined.Linneas covered his ears and began to wail himself, why were Pazee and Ning so upset? Did he do something wrong like with Luna?"Syrie! When did-" before Huni could finish her sentence, she felt a small projectile smack against her. "Ooof!!" she gasped, stumbling back. Clutching the Fandangle, Huni walked towards the source of all the commotion. "Linny and Kiarhu?" she blinked. Syrie Khia stopped howling at the scent of his companion, Syrie. He chuffled sadly and whimpered, ears going down and drooping, the fluffy tassled ends trailing along the floor. "Auuuu" "Few hours ago...been sketching some of the rooms." He flicked his tail and eyed the group causing the fuss with mild amusement. "You're not hurt Khia, hush. No more howling...." Huni Pi "Awwww, what's wrong with Linny?" Huni frowned, getting onto her knees to carry Linneas into her arms.Linneas' wailing gradually quieted once Khia and Ning stopped their own crying.Ning, however wanted to get Linneas as far away from Kiarhu as possible, and she made this very clear to Huni by repeating "Bath bath bath bath bath bath bath." like a broken record. The red head had no choice if she wanted to shut the cog up and get some peace. Apologetically she nodded to Syrie and set off for the bedroom where she brought out the cleaning materials."Not me! Linny!!" Ning groaned, zipping from side-to-side. Syrie The kitsune just nodded, he'd heard about the cogs and sprockets, and this one seemed a bit...tweaked. He picked up his own Tale, clucking to the small shapeshifter soothingly. "There's my boy, calm now...you can play more later...." Khia's response was to climb onto Syrie's shoulders and kind of hang there like a scarf. "Auu!" Late Night with Khia Khia trotted through the stationary shop; there really wasn't much to do this late at night, seeing as he and Syrie were typically the only ones ever in around those times. He liked it though, it gave him time to explore, scent things, and practice changing his shape without any distractions. The shapeshifter found it hard to concentrate when lots of things were going on. All the stimuli distracted him and made the shifts incomplete, or kept him from doing it at all. "Auuu..." gold-green eyes flashed a bit in the flickering light from a candle. Syrie was scribbling furiously in one of his ledgers - he kept the shop in repair, doing that behind the scenes while Huni got the attention and ran the shop - the kitsune was shy, so he prefered it this way. "Eh? Khia? C'mere fuzzball..." Syrie patted his lap and smiled when the black furrball lept into his lap, purling at him. "I can't wait to see what else you learn to shift into..." he murmured, purling back at the baby creature affectionately before turning to his ledgers again....

...//GRP - In Shop Syrie A rather tired looking russet-colored kitsune came into the shop with a small black furrball tagging after him; in the blond's arms were numerous ledgers, papers falling every which way, and a large bag of what was probably food. It was late, the shop wouldn't have many visitors this late, and as such it was time for Syrie to make his appearance. It wasn't that he was anti-social, not at all..he was just terribly shy and had a hard time talking with people. Just before the door clunked shut, a trio of sprockets zipped in, flitting about like tiny bio-mechanical hummingbirds. The sprockets were there to assist Syrie in his repairs - Huni ran the shop, and tended things, while he took care of the menial tasks like fixing leaks, cleaning up more of the rooms (it seemed like every time Syrie fixed up one room, another sprouted up, filthy and wretched), and general book keeping. "Khia, don't destroy anything, alright? And do NOT chew on the furniture!" Syrie chided softly as Kiarhu bolted off to explore and sniff and generally get into trouble - one of the sprockets followed the kit, the other two floating beside Syrie - waiting for something to happen. "Now really, we're just cleaning up...no "fixing" things like you did the toaster. I doubt Huni needs a jet propelled toaster in the shop!" And with that, the blond and his companions set to work. chaoticdivinity Chao's small form was curled up in a corner, eyes shut and breathing deeply. A book was gripped loosely in her fingertips, the title Drowned Wednesday glinting softly in the dim light of Aido's halo.
Aido was tucked up beside her mother, as the customers had filtered out but the comfortable chairs left occupied Chao had simple flopped into a corner and lost herself in her book, Aido, with none of the other Tales to play with, sat at her side, listening as Chao sometimes read alound a particularily interesting passsage. Not that she truly understood the words, but at times her mother put enough emotion into her voice to get the message accross. As the door opened and Syrie's voice echoed about the store her eyes fluttered open and she let out a soft yawn. She looked about, maybe one of her friends was here?
Syrie The kitsune paused a moment, sensing the women in the other room; his ears perked a bit and he slunk over quietly to see who it was. He relaxed a bit when he noticed it was Chao - and Aido as well - as opposed to someone he didn't know of. While it was true he didn't socialize much, it could not be said that he didn't know all the guardians of the tomes. He was, after all, the shadow of the shop. Typically, the kitsune knew more about what went on that one would imagine... Khia had scented the others too, and he dove into the room, yipping excitedly. chaoticdivinity The sudden yipping of Khia had Chao starting violently away from sleep, her book flying from her finger tips as she looked about, eyes wide and scared. Hand snapping to her belt. Where was she? What was she doing there? What-? Looking about it all came back to her in a rush and she slumped back against the wall. "Gods..." she said, placing a hand against her heart. "A little warning next time would be appreciated..." she grumbled.
Aido smiled, albeit shyly, at Syrie before the thunk of Chao's book hitting the floor made her look back, giving her mother a worried look. As she settled her attention snapped back to Khia. "Kyu!" she chirped, waving a hand in greeting to the yipping creature.Syrie The little black shapeshifter's tail poofed out at the loud sound of the book, and almost as if it were reflex, he shifted, turning into a slightly furry version of the self same book, sliding a few feet further on the floor after doing so from the momentum of his "charge". "Oh, ah...I'm so sorry...he's ...highly excitable..." the kitsune murmured quietly, moving into the room to pick up the fuzzy-book; his expression apologetic, ears flopping to the sides a bit. He certainly hadn't wanted to disturb Chao, least of all scare her half to death! The book with the slightly furry edges make a grring sound, vibrating a little...almost as if warning Syrie against picking him up. chaoticdivinity Chao whipped her head up, finally sighting Syrie. Immediately the blood rushed to her face and she blushed scarlet. "Oh no, it's fine, I shouldn't have fallen asleep anyway," she said looking down, feeling rather embarrassed as she eased her hand away from her belt. As a bit of the blush die away she looked over to the fuzzy book that was Khia then to Syrie then back to Khia and she smiled, "are you what woke me up little fuzz ball?"
HE HAD CHANGED! Aido's eyes grew wide in excitement and her halo's glow intensified momentarily before dulling quickly as she made her way towards the fuzzy, vibrating book. "Kikyu?" she asked, pushing herself up onto her tiny feet and kneeling beside the shapeshifter, examining him, curoisity shining in her bi-colored eyes. Syrie Syrie shook his head a little; he wondered at Chao's blush, but figured that if someone had walked in on him at an unguarded moment like that...he'd probably be a little...flustered too. "It's cool and quiet in here...I've fallen asleep many a time..." He smiled a little, trying to put her at ease - he most definitely did NOT pick up Khiabook, liking his fingers just as they were: attached. A little pair of glittering red eyes appeared in the cover of the book as Aido approached it; the vibrating and soft hissing sound also stopped. It wasn't that he was being unfriendly - he just didn't want Syrie to pick him up, because that would mean he'd have to behave again. "Aouu?" Came the reply from the khiabook that seemed to lengthen and change even as they watched. chaoticdivinity Chao chuckled and nodded, casting her eyes back down to the floor. Interally she was berating herself. Gaia, for all its friendly faces and supposedly safe havens was truly no more safe than any other place. Sometimes she forgot that. Placing one hand against the wall she eased herself off the floor, stretching a tiny bit as she did so before looking over to the two Tales, watching as Khia began to change again. "Did that little one come from the study as well?"
"Kaiiiii..." she murmered, eyes becomming as round as dinner plates as Khia began to shift again. Her mouth shut and she watched in rapt silence as the black fuzzy Tale's form lengthened and changed yet again.Syrie "Yes, Kiarhu is a Tale, just like she is..." one ink stained hand gestured towards Aido at those soft words. "He was...I believe...the second...after Linneas...." The kitsune's ears flicked again as the two sprockets hovering by his shoulders moved up to mess with his ear fluff. Khia, meanwhile, had shifted back to his animalian form - his typical form, and was sniffing at Aido, tail wagging happily. "auuu!!" He squirmed a bit; he may have looked like a cat or a dog, but his intelligence was much higher, more like that of a very small child. He couldn't talk though, only make little sounds. chaoticdivinity Chao nodded, rolling her shoulders, grimancing as tiny sparks of pain flared about her shoulderblades before blinking and stopping the stretch. She looked over to Syrie, "then... you must be Syrie!" she said, realization smacking her in the face. She smiled, happy to finally meet the Syrie that Huni had spoken about.
Aido giggled as Syrie's fur brushed against her, she reached out a hand and patted him lightly on the head, smiling as the feel of his fur. Removing the hand she pointed to herself, "Aii!" she chirped, going through her usual introduction. Syrie The russet-fox blinked a bit, his expression one of surpise, "I didn't think anyone around here knew my name....how did you...?" Tail thumping against the backs of his legs, the blond fidgeted a bit. The news was not unwelcome, but unexpected. Khia chuffed and snuffled at Aido's cheek, the furr under her hands shifting and bunching a bit as if having a life all it's own. The shapeshifter's fur was silky, like a rabbit's, or a chinchilla's fur is silky..but it was also something else....something undefinable. Kiarhu sat up on his haunches, head tilted as he watched the pixie like girl-child. "Aau?" He tried mimicking her sound, but failed. chaoticdivinity Chao grinned, recalling her first visit to the Stationary shop. "Huni mentioned your name when I first came here. She said you helped her originally with the shop and was the co-owner...or, at least I think that's what she said..." she trailed off, it'd been, what, nearly a month, or maybe more, since the shop had opened up? It must've been more, she'd first come here before her midterms after all.
Aido giggled as her name was shifted yet again at the hands of another, "Aau," she confirmed with a smile. Leaning forward she rubbed her nose against Khia's cheek, sniffing at him, returning the favor of being smelled before moving her head back and peering at him. Nibbling on her lip she cocked her head, not quite sure how to ask for his name. Shrugging she pointed to him. Syrie Syrie chuckled and shook his head, "I don't know if you would call what I do "co-owning"....It's more like I take care of the ledgers and repairs..." He paused a moment, then smiled at Chao gently, "I'm glad you found my chair comfortable...." The furniture in the shop was mostly stuff that had been there, but that Syrie had had to refurbish and fix at some point. Khia's head tilted the other way, his eyes glittering a bit. He knew the syllables were different, so he tried again; even though this pixie child had nodded at him - some part of him refused to let it go. "Aaiiu..." the shapeshifter couldn't talk, so he whined at Syrie, ears wiggling so that the tassles on the ends swayed. "Hmm? Oh...yes...His name is Kiarhu...." ((pronounced K(h)ey-are-ooh)) chaoticdivinity Chao looked over to the chairs and nodded, "they're great to sink into. Did you do all the furniture?" She didn't know how to refurbish furniture though she supposed she might be needing to soon.
"Kea...arrooo?" she frowned, unable to pronounciate easily the other Tales name. "Kehru...keay.. khia?" she asked, trying to find an easier way of saying it.Syrie Two black-tipped ears flicked back and forth as the small man nodded; "Well...I cleaned it...the shop was in a horrible state when Huni and I came here...I've been slowly working on it as I can.... Especially now that there are other people coming in ..." Khia bounced a bit, yipping and licking Aido's face when she called him that - it was what Syrie called him, and he liked the sound of it. "Aaiiu!" his fluffy black tail wagged wildly, and he shifted - from beast to ball - and rolled around the room. chaoticdivinity "I wonder who owned it before..." she murmured, looking around the shop, catching sight of a clock she grimanced, it was getting late.
Ai grinned, "Khia!" she chirped, nodding, her halo glowing softly before the light faded again, leaving the metal looking just as semi-dull and blackened as before. Ai didn't notice, she never really noticed her halo, unless it got too bright or someone pointed at it. Pushing herself to her feet she took two half running steps, tripped over her own two feet and fell to the floor. Without hesitation she simply pushed herself up she began to crawl after Khia instead.Syrie "Truely, there is no way of knowing...at least, not at this time...I've been researching this place in my spare time...." His tail flicked, he shifted a bit; fingers itching to still the sprockets rolling along his tail. Khia thumped into Chao's legs with a soft whump, which startled him into shifting to his normal form. The fuzzball looked up at Chao and made a questioning sound, as if asking her why she'd gotten in his way. chaoticdivinity Chao frowned, it made her a bit uneasy, not knowing the past of this weird building, "that's-" Khia thumped dinto her legs, interupting whatever she was going to say. A moment later Aido flopped onto Khia, bi-colored eyes peering up along with Khia. "Uh... sorry you two," she said and shuffled to the side.
Aido giggled and pointed up at Chao, "Ae!" she chirped. Chao rolled her eyes and made a shooing gesture. Aido simply smiled and moved off of Khia and tapped him on the nose before crawling off. Syrie It wasn't in his nature to confide in people, and honestly...this was the longest running conversation he'd had in a good long while. Syrie just sighed a bit, padding over to the bag he'd set down, as it had food in it he could share. "Are you ...hungry?" Khia chased after Aido, ki-yi-ing and bounding at her ankles; he wanted to play with her, but in this form...it was so hard! He couldn't "talk" to her, and he couldn't poke and tickle at her either. "Awoo!" chaoticdivinity Grey eyes flickered back to the clock but then she rolled her eyes. Whatever, she'd get home late, it wasn't like there was school tommarow. "Sure!" she said, padding after him in her sock clad feet.
Without warning Aido about faced and dove at Khia, causing them to tumble head over heals along the floor. Syrie Syrie picked up the bag and set it on a nearby table, carefully moving aside the lamp that took up most of the space there. "I have...well..I have fruit, and cheese..." He pulled grapes, several pears and oranges, as well as crackers and cheese from the bag - he also had made two sandwiches for that night, but considering how little he actually ate... "Oh, and some sandwiches....feel free to have any of it." The kitsune smiled a bit, he was nervous - and running out of safe topics. 'Inari help me, I'm just not good with people....' Aido's pouncing of him was totally unexpected, so Khia's tail poofed and he yelped; rolling with the delicate child. When they stopped, his fur was a dusty mess, as well as being poofed out like crazy and sticking up in random places. "Aiiu!" chaoticdivinity If Chao noticed his nervousness she didn't show it or call him on it, "thank you," she said with a sincere smile. She picked up a pear took a small bite, chewing on it, obviously savoring the taste as she settled down into a chair, watching the two Tales tumble about. She looked as if she'd be perfectly content to just sit, watch the the Tales and munch on her pear.
Aido smiled at Khia, her own hair was ruffled, sticking up in dusty patches. Her shirt and scarf were soot streaked as well but it'd been fun! Syrie Syrie took a handful of grapes for himself, tail swishing slowly; he had a lot of work to do, but...this was pleasant, and he didn't want to keep Khia from visiting.... "...I am truely sorry...but...I must get to work...It's been very nice meeting you, Chao..." The wee beastie flopped next to Aido, yawning mightily. "Aiiu" chaoticdivinity Chao looked up and smiled, "it was nice meeting you as well Syrie. And I need to be off anyway, my brother is probably wondering where I am," an eye roll accompanied this statement. She stood and padded over to Aido, scooping her into her arms.
Aido yawned, a wave of tiredness striking her as soon as her mother's arms were about her. Settling into Chao's arms she waved to Khia, hoping she'd get to see the other Tale again soon.
Chao hitched up her boots one handedly, turned and waved to Syrie and Khia, "bye Syrie and Khia, I hope we'll see you guys about again," and with that she plunged out into the dark gaian night, heading for home.Syrie And with that, Syrie and Khia padded off to do the work they had come to do...well, Syrie did. Khia just followed, randomly shifting into objects they bumped into.... Syrie's Study In one of the still-abandoned areas in the upper level of the shop where he stayed, the russet colored kitsune smiled to himself - there was a new Tale. He felt it being "born" into this world, just as he felt each of the others. Tail flicking, the blond pulled out a small black book and made an entry; each time a Tale was born, he made the entry, noting the date and time that he felt the "disturbance". The only thing he couldn't gather was whom the Tome had chosen...but he'd find that out soon enough... Khia was curled in a ball, nestled in the overstuffed horsehair chair Syrie'd claimed as his own. The child had grown, and was growing more by the day. He'd also noted some changes to the "standard" form his beloved Tale had taken...apparently, not being able to play properly or speak with the other Tales had gotten the little fuzzball to do some serious thinking... "Tch...ah well, back to work..." And with those softly spoken words, the man dove back into his paperwork with gusto; Kiarhu and a cup of hot tea his only companion in the room. Shapeshift The little black furrball churred to himself; after thinking on the the difficult language barrier, he decided to try to shift into something that would allow him to play with his "friends" better. Of course, he didn't rationalize it quite like that, it was more of a "I want to play like they do!" sort of thing, and so he started trying to change his shape again. Days spent doing this had left him tired and irritable, it was very hard, but he was making progress - slow progress...and not in all areas...but some progress was better than none...

...//Solo - Journal Entry:03.01.2005 Khia was no where to be found.
Naturally.
Syrie's journal was torn to shreds, chunks laying all about the study on the upper floor of the shop.
[excerpt] ....I'm rather worried for Khia...he's behaving strangely, and is always tired. He refuses to allow me to touch him, but I've seen him staring at me, watching me carefully...especially when I'm bathing - it's disconcerting! I imagine he does it because he's curious - our body types are so different...
[excerpt] Tried seeing if he'd relax while I was in kitsune form - he did. I finally got near him, but he was so agitated it didn't last long. Did get him to nap at least...so he wont be exhausted completely....am positive now that he's behaving like this because of his form. I hope he doesn't hold me completely accountable, the Tome gives the children the forms from our subconscious....and he can shift too....which leads me to believe that he could have a more humanoid form if he worked at it....
We shall see...
Those were the two largest bits of paper remaining, save one. A tiny strip, no more than a half a line or so in Syrie's strange but neat writing contained therein...
[excerpt] ...so painful, I heard him crying...from the pain or....
There was nothing else.

...//Solo - Growing Pains (03.04.2005) A plaintive howling broke through the silence and shattered Syrie's sleep as effectively as a bucket of cold water being dropped on him.
"WHA!?!?!" The Kitsune's tail poofed out, and his hair stood all on end as he shot upright in bed, blankets tangling around his legs and tail. He blinked blearily at the darkness, willing his sleepy limbs awake - another chilling howl made certain he had no trouble doing so.
A quick look around told the startled blond that his Tale, Khiahru, wasn't in the room with him. Syrie got up and pulled some sweatpants on before exiting his room, creeping stealthily down the hall to Khia's room (It was his room, but he rarely slept there, preferring to snuggle up against Syrie's body at night.)
Syrie peeked into the room, and got the start of a lifetime - Khia was...grown. Somehow, the fuzzball had managed to shift his form into something more humanoid than before. But the child looked like he was in terrible pain, he was whimpering and chuffing wetly on the floor in the middle of the room. "Khia, Khia...shhh...I'm here..."
So this was why Khia had been so horrible and fussy lately!
He moved over to the furrball, sitting down and gently collecting the child into his arms, murmuring soothingly in the language of beasts even as opened his empathic powers enough to tell if Khia was injured. 'Oh thank god...he's just sore...too much, too fast....'
"Hu...rt..." The first "heard" words from Khiarhu's muzzle came thickly, hard to understand if one wasn't careful. He whimpered and pressed closer to the kitsune, grasping at him for comfort with newly formed hands. "Khia...hurts...." Tears welled in the creatures crimson eyes, trickling down his silky cheeks.
"I know, I know....close your eyes, rest....I will take care of it..." And for perhaps the second time since he'd come to Gaia - Syrie allowed his limits to fall away, taking some of the child's pain into himself. Enough so that he could fall asleep...this was a hard-won change for Khia, and Syrie wasn't going to cheapen that. "Sleep now...." he whispered as he stroked the silky slate-purple hair that had grown, feeling the small horns beneath that soft mass of hair.
"Sl..eep...Syrie...sleep..." Khia murmured quietly to himself; In the morning, he would wake, and learn to speak better...until then, he needed sleep. His body was exhausted from performing such a complex and alien shift. Not only that, but Khiahru had been fighting and pushing this along so much faster than his others...He hated not being able to communicate! That was all changing...but first...blessed sleep....
Once he was certain Khia was out cold, Syrie got up, carrying the child in his arms back to his own room. He crawled into bed, Khia tucked against him. Syrie wanted to be very near him, in case there were complications later.

...//Solo - Noted Memories Inserted into the pages of Khia's tome is a folded piece of paper -something carefully nestled there as if it were precious to the keeper. The writing on the folded paper is rather literate in the text used, though the script itself is very rough, ragged and badly done as though the author hard a hard time controlling the quill it was written with.
Ahh...but it's been a great long time since I was so young, it seems...I can remember it like it was yesterday though. I couldn't stand not being able to talk to my friends...to Aido, Nalira, Linny...it was difficult back then. I was the only "different" child from the Tome for what seemed a very long time. I was the only one that couldn't talk...it made it hard.
That's why I worked towards growing up so quickly. Looking back now, I think I would have grown at the same rate probably...but then it seemed a big deal.
Now, I don't worry about it so much...I've learned as I've gone along that it really doesn't matter. The friends I have will be my friend's regardless of how well I speak. They know I'm not stupid. Just a bit hard to talk with a muzzle.
Do feel bad for Dad though, he had no idea what to do to help me. I'll have to tell him that what he did - trying - was more than enough.

...//GRP - Partially Compiled Shop RP - (03.04.2005) Junyi Junyi slowly makes her way into the shop, holding Ying and Luna up with each of her hands as they toddle unsteadily in.Behind Junyi is a very large, very imposing figure with large gold wings and a huge silk scarf wrapped around his neck and shoulders.
He doesn't seem to be too comfortable with being in this place again. chaoticdivinity A moment later Chao stepped through the door and shut it again, Runae, with Aido as her rider, trotting beside her. The teen halted just before running into the winged figure, nearly tripping over her own feet in the process.
Aido, from her perch, peered up curiously at the winged figure, taking in his wings and scarf, before looking to Junyi, Luna and finally Ying, her halo glowing faintly. She'd never seen these people before.Junyi Junyi smiles faintly, gently helping Luna and Ying to the floor.
"Er... Hello..." she mumbled, quirking an eyebrow as she looked around for a parent of the child. Syrie Upstairs, Syrie is trying to drag Khia into clothes, but failing miserably. The silly creature just yanks them off and runs around naked. (Not that it matters, because he's all fur, but still!) There is a large crash, as Khia bolts out of Syrie's workroom, a white t-shirt sort of on him, sort of not. ""Khia not wear clothes!" He squealed and scrambled down the stairs, laughing.Lemonlime Lemonlime had been sitting in the Study for quite a while now, trying to warm up. Why she was cold, she didn't know. The fire was roaring but it didn't seem to be able to break through her trembling body. She sighed heavily, glaring down at Nalira and her new 'friend'. Nalira seemed to have dubbed him 'Finando', and Lemonlime hadn't quite warmed up to him yet. Nalira smiled softly, entwined her fingers into Finando's soft grey fur, burying her head within his depths. Finando simply sat, watching her with a softened-gaze, different to when he looked at Lemonlime. His eyes had a strange, cold, hard, emotionless stare to them, his teeth blood-stained and bared. "Mira du rin fahr rin dar du." Finando whispered, although to everyone else it came out as a strange hissing sound. He cocked an eyebrow slightly, his gaze penetrating. Nalira nodded softly, sighing heavily. She understood what he had said, and slowly lifted her suit-sleeve, her carved marking seeming to glow a slight red color. She shook her head, her eyes wide and fearful.
"Ih dornart." Junyi Ying is greatly intrigued by this noise from noisy things! :O!
Giggling quietly, she pulls herself to her feet and begins toddling toward the sound.
See? Ying can walk on her OWN. chaoticdivinity Aido smiled and waved to the group, about to say hello, when a crash snapped her attention away. She blinks at the new, taller, furry figure, unable to place him for a moment, before something clicks. "Khia?!" she blinks again, eyes wide before grinning. Khia was big, and different, but it was Khia! "Khia!" she chirps happily, waving a hand rapidly towards her friend.
At the sudden mesh of voices Chao steps out from behind the group and walks over to stand by Aido, she smiles lightly to Junyi before taking in the sight of a taller Khia.Syrie "Aiiuu!!" The shapeshifter seems to perk, even as he comes running down the stairs - he also catches the scent of several others...some that he knows, many he doesn't. Not that it would stop him, oh no - He likes meeting new people! "Khia big now!!!" He proclaims brightly as he slides into a little heap near Aido's feet.Syrie comes barrelling down the stairs, tail all poofed out like crazy; he's covered in ....various supplies. It appears that perhaps someone knocked over a table of art stuffs onto the blond, before that someone went running downstairs. "Kiarhu! You get back here RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" Pausing at the foot of the stairs to catch his breath, Syrie sees everyone gathered there, and sort of looks sheepish. "Ah..er...Hi..." Junyi Ying's eyes widen, and she lets out a quiet "Oooooooooooooh" of awe as she beholds the streaking furry thing.
That. Was. Awesome. "Hello," Junyi answers quietly, taking Luna in her arms. "I... It's nice to meet you all."The guardian who accompanied the three- Jokeph- flattens himself against one of the walls, sucking in a panicked breath.
Too many noisy people... >~< chaoticdivinity "Khia i'big!" Aido says, bi-colored eyes wide and shining with curoisity at the sight of her larger friend. Quickly she slides off Runae with ease and pouncing on her friend, closing her eyes momentarily. It was definately Khia! Regardless of the difference of height and shape he still felt like Khia, and that was all that mattered. She smiles, eyes poping open yet again and runs her hands over his ears and his hair, taking in the different feelings.
Chao chuckles and waves to Syrie with a smile, "hey Syrie, you alright?" She looks over to Junyi and smiles, "hello, it's nice to meet you too." Lemonlime Nalira couldn't help but feel her insides turn to ice. She couldn't leave now, she wouldn't leave now. She stood, growling at the wolf. Her guardian was right, he was nothing but trouble. She leapt foward, grabbing the wolf-pup by it's middle and thrusting it into the wall, snarling. Finando scowled, advancing towards her with haste, clasping his jaws onto her arm. He smiled with satisfaction at her yelp, and the blood dribbling from her arm was almost awe-inspiring. Lemonlime immediatly stood, grabbing the wolf by the scruff and heaving it through the window. She yelled out random curse-words, then turned to her little one, scooping her up into her arms. She flicked the now-drying blood from Nalira's arm, sighing heavily.
"I didn't trust that wolf. What did he tell you?" She never did get a reply. Syrie Syrie nodded to the new people...*pulling out his clean black book and scribbling something in it quickly - making note of the children and owners for his books later. "Ah..he kinda rebelled up there..." The kitsune fidgeted, there were waaaaaaaaay too many people here... "Could you watch him a moment, please Chao? I need to clean up..." He slunk off to a bathroom to clean himself up for the moment - and to be away from everything. Khia purred at Aido's petting of his hair and such, he also tilted his head at the others. "Who you?" He asked everyone and no one in particular. He recognized the golden eyed girl muttering things, but not her companion. She interested him, scent wise...but the girl with the stick...didn't know. Nor the man trying desperately to fade into the walls, and the female companion. Khia's tail poofed up and he bristled, growling low in his throat at the commotion caused by Nalira's "pet". " Scent is BAD!"Junyi "My name's Jun Keth," Junyi chokes out quietly. "And this," she continues, glancing down at the baby in her arms, "is Luna, my daughter. Her guardian, Jokeph, is behind me." With a deep breath, she glances at Ying. "That little troublemaker over there is Ying."The aforementioned Ying seems to be playing with something resembling a lighter. chaoticdivinity Another Tale? Chao blinked, yet again wondering just how many of the children were running about now. "Well, these two," she gestures towards Aido and Khia, "are both from the Tome. There's quite a few about now, at least eight I think," that was her last count anyway, there were, undoubtedly, more now. She nods to Syrie and, before she could say anything else, like properly introduce herself, the tinkling of glass broke her attention away from the trio of tales, and over to Lemon.
At the crash Aido looks over in the direction of her friend worriedly. She stands, wondering if she should go over there and investigate, though one of her hand's is still gripping Khia's fur gently. "Nala?" she calls, seeing the backside of Lemon and the broken window. Junyi Junyi WINCES, clutching Luna tightly."Oooooooooooooh." :O
THAT catches Ying's attention. Lemonlime Lemonlime hesitated slightly, forcing a smile. She brushed herself off, standing there, backing away slightly.
"Er, 'scuse the French."- - - Nalira glanced over to Khia, and went to speak in her language, but hesitated. She closed her eyes, translating back into English, before speaking.
"Yes. Scent, bad. Not good. Evil."
Her sentences were short-cut and to the point, and rather descriptive. When she was with the wolves, they had taught her many things, but one of them was to trust no-one, to trust nothing. She glanced over to Aido, smiling slightly.
"Aii! You save Nala, long time go. Is good, is happy." chaoticdivinity Chao waves the curses off, "are you two alright Lemon?" she eyed the broken window before looking back to the other Author.
Ai blinks, cocking her head for a moment in confusion, before recalling the storm ridden night and the wolves. She nods but concern is still etched on her features. "Nala owo?" she gestures to the blood running down the other Tale's arm.Syrie Syrie came back from cleaning himself up, only a few stains from the paint left on his skin. He noticed the window, and the bleeding child, and frowned, moving over to Nalira and Lemon. "Are you two okay? What happened?" Khia crept forward towards Nalira along with Aido, though he looked back at Ying with this "what the heck" sort of expression at her lighter - he'd never seen one before, and was curious at it. "Hurt? Is hurt?" Lemonlime Lemon nodded slightly. "That wolf, Finando, was it? Yes, him, he attacked Nalira. He hurt her something aweful, but she seems to be alright .." Nalira nodded slightly, sighing heavily. She started whispering under her breath once more, before looking up at them.
"No one, trust. They said so. Trust, to no one." She frowned, shaking her head at them, tears welling in her eyes. Frustration and hurt echoed off her body as she wrapped her arms around herself. She didn't know what to do, or who to believe. Syrie Syrie frowned a little; his tail swishing behind him. "Let me get the first aid kit..." He murmured, but then went slightly pale; Nalira's confusion and hurt crashing into his head all at once. "Trust someone. Have to." Khia shook his head, then had to push his shaggy hair out of his eyes. "Follow the words, and you trusting they were right. So trust more than just them. Trust Aiiu. Aiiu scent is good." chaoticdivinity ((edits a tiny bit)) Aido stepped away from Khia and closer to Nalira. With only a moment's pause Runae was at her side and she was up, closer to Nalira's level, standing on her tip toes she managed to wrap her arms around the other Tale and hugged her tightly, burying her head in Nalira's cloth outfit. "Nala Aii friend, trust."
"Does she need a bandage?" Chao asked, already searching through her bag for the bandages she usually kept with her at all times. Syrie Syrie moved to go fetch the kit he kept on hand, and passed Ying, Junyi, and Luna; pausing as he noticed the lighter. "Err...can we not play with that here? Most things in this shop are um...papar...." He mumbled and skittered quickly, so quickly to grab the kit. Khia caught the scent of fire, and glanced back at Ying. "You! What you got!?" His ears perked; typical boy fashion, he was easily distracted, and highly excitable. Besides, Aiiu would take care of the strangely scented girl,so he was allowed to try to peek at this other one...LemonLime Nalira sighed heavily, looking at her now Bandaged arm. She smiled, and Lemonlime came and took her in her arms. She waved a silent goodbye, and then they left without a word. The balance of this RP has been lost to time...it is unfortunate, but it happens.

...//Solo - For the Love of Music (03.19.2005) Khia sat on the floor of the study that had become more his home than any of the other places Syrie lived (and took him to). The kitsune was always on the move, going from shop to shop, from place to place...and even from dimension to dimension...Khia spent a lot of his time with Kaelin, the Anikin...or just by himself.
He learned a lot that way. Especially if he stayed near the Tome. For some unknown reason, it seemed the big book spoke to him...or paved the way to make it easier for him. He'd learned to read that way, after Syrie's bungled attempts at teaching. Unfortunately, the blond man that was his guardian just wasn't great at teaching things simply. Khia loved him, and understood that he was trying...but when it came down to it..Syrie just wasn't the best person to go to for that.
Fount of knowledge, but hard to talk to. Didn't help that he was as shy as Khiarhu was brave and personable.
Khia's little paws reached up to steady the headphones on his overly-large ears; he loved listening to music..he thought it would be neat to learn to play...or to dance. The shape shifter had seen Syrie dancing once, and had been enthralled, though he was almost certain he shouldn't have watched that - the kitsune had seemed horribly embarrassed after, and had shooed him off gently.
He'd pester Syrie later about getting something to play...or more music. Either way...it was fine with him. For now, he'd just read, and listen to the music...

...//Solo - Forget Dancing! I Wanna Kick Some Butt! (03.21.2005) Khia's bushy bushy tail swished excitedly - he'd seen the coolest thing EVER! There were people, and they were ....fighting, but it wasn't just fighting! It was like...a dance, and so beautiful.
Forget dancing, forget music...Khiarhu knew what he wanted to get Syrie to let him do...and he plotted from that moment forth...
Naturally, it wasn't hard to do, and within two days the kitsune had registered his "son" in martial arts classes....

...//Solo - Less Fight, More Write (03.25.2005) Khiarhu sat at one of the tables in Syrie's study, a piece of paper in front of him - the paper was lined the way a first-grader's paper would be. A learning device. Syrie had fought and fought with the little shape-shifter to get him to learn to read and write - and finally had been reduced to threatening to take the martial arts classes away if he refused.
Khia loved those classes, and was already near the top of his class. He was highly intelligent, and seemed to have an innate fighting ability - in other words, there was no way in hell he was going to give it up. So today, after the early class, he was here. Writiing. It wasn't that he didn't understand things, it was that he didn't care.
Khia writing now. Syrie said Khia write or not get to fight in class. Love class. Lots of fun going to fight and sinsei is very strong! Khia like strong. Want to be strong like sinsei....
The little black fuzzball wrote out a page in his scrawling, loose and slightly backwards writing. The misspellings were cute, but Syrie pointed them out and explained the whys of the language. He knew Khiarhu would understand, so he didn't hold back. And if he couldn't explain, then the Tome certainly would. That book seemed to keep an eye out for it's "children".
After he'd finished with Khia's lessons for the day, he allowed the boy to go outside and practice more. One had to reward good behavior, after all.

...//Solo - Noted Memories II Inserted into the pages of Khia's tome is a folded piece of paper -something carefully nestled there as if it were precious to the keeper. The writing on the folded paper is rather literate in the text used, though the script itself is rather rough, ragged; as though the author hard a hard time controlling the quill it was written with.
Martial arts classes were probably the best idea for me. I needed something that would not only give me the discipline needed to better control the shift, but also a way to burn all that excess energy. Not that I'll stop now. I really love it. Before, it was just sort of...something to do - a place to be. Now it's a big part of my life, and I want it to stay that way.
Took a long time to get the other students to accept me, what with being a small black fuzzball that ate almost everything he could... Now, they aren't precisely friendly, but they're much more tolerant...and I think some of them respect me more since I've moved up in rank.
I did have to promise Dad I wouldn't use martial arts for anything but self defense tho...so I guess I'll have to resort to feral fighting if I wanna kick anyone's a**. Not certain I do, but there's always that little dark thought...coiling inside....

...//GRP - Shop RP (03.25.2005) Khia had finished his chores, and the lessons that Syrie laid out for him daily, and so was allowed to do as he pleased for a while. This generally had him exploring upstairs, but today he wanted to go outside; there was a back door to the shop, and a small yard out there that he'd taken as his own. Syrie had even put some mats, a chair or two, as well as a table and some toys out there for him.
The pitch colored shapeshifter slipped down stairs, intending to go outside; he wore a karate gi, belted at the waist., and his silky hair was pulled back in a tiny paintbrush ponytail; the dual set of horns that his hair usually hid showing just a little. Enoh and Vidya had come back to the shop of course, on the Tale's stubborn insistence. When they had arrived there wasn't any signs of life in the place...aside from the gleeful squeals of Vidya as she played with her new staff on the floor, and thus Enoh had sat down in one of the chairs, and was catching up on her reading. Every now and then the shapeshifter would glance up, to see if Vidya wasn't destroying things by accident.
"Be very careful, Vidya...don't go breaking anything."
"Okay Momma! Viddy'll be fulla care, yep!"
She nodded sagely, the tips of her long hair bouncing with the motion. On one particular swing of her staff however, something black coming down the stairs caught her eye.
Turning her white gaze towards the creature, she studied it intently before raising her free hand and muttering a single word.
"Hiya."Khia had spotted the sky-hued child long before she'd seen him, but he'd said nothing, merely kept going down the stairs as he watched her. There was a sort of free-spirited joy to her, which was different from the others he'd met. He knew she was like him; they shared the same "old magic" scent underneath it all.
"Hiya, who be you?" The shape shifting child made it to the bottom of the stairs and waited there for a moment; had he the ability to smile, he would have been, but a muzzle wasn't very good for smiling...instead, his tail swished happily behind him. Vidya stared at the creature for a little while longer, before her face lit up in a purely joyful expression. Jumping to her feet, Vidya didn't even bother to brush herself off as she walked over to the other tale, dragging her staff behind her. She pointed happily at herself.
"M'Viddy! N'Viddy's a pie-rat!"
She seemed proud of her title since the second she acquired it. Being a pirate was so much fun! That smile still on her lips and in her eyes, she pointed to the other, giggling.
"N'who're you? Pretty fur! Pretty Tail! Happy too! Viddy likes."
Of course, it was her custom to point out what she liked about the other almost instantly.
Enoh set down her book, watching Vidya move towards the child at the bottom of the stairs. The shapeshifter's ears twitched a bit, eyeing the other child...she couldn't place it right away, but she could tell that she and that specific child had something rather large in common.
Of course, being shapeshifters wasn't the first thing that came to her mind. In any case, he seemed harmless enough...Khia wiggled his ears, causing the long tassels of silky fur there to sway. "Khiarhu. Everyone calls Khia. Viddy call Khia too." Pie-rat? He didn't understand for a moment, then his agile mind put it together! Pirate! He'd read about those, in some of the books from the study...and wasn't there that parrot child..hadn't he said he was "Cap'n"?
"Pirate? Khia is...just Khia." He spotted her staff, and remembered a lesson in martial arts that involved using staves. "That's neat..." He pointed to the staff, and then sniffed a bit, taking in her scent. His tail swished more; generally Khia was harmless - he certainly wouldn't hurt a female, it went against what he was learning in his training. "Khia. Okay. Pretty name! N'Yes, it's vurry neat! See?"
Vidya was still smiling, her gaze moving towards her staff as Khia pointed to it. Giggling, she held it up so he could see it better. It was a shining, dark blue shaft with what looked like metal vines around the ends of it. At the top, wrapped in the same vine design, was a blue gem similar to the one on her forehead...only much larger. Right now, the staff was just a little shorter than she; though she failed to mention that it changes height, according to the user's body type.
"Viddy needed a wheapon. A pie-rat can't be a pie-rat without wheapon!"
She nodded sagely once more. The shapeshifter child nodded, he wanted a weapon himself, but Syrie had said that a proper weapon chooses it's master, and as such he was being patient. The staff was very neat though, and Khia felt his first taste of jealousy, though it was mild, and quickly squashed by his natural giving nature.
"Viddy the Pirate, and her staff! Very good, yes?" he'd read pirates needed weapons, so nodded and agreed with her. "Pirates fight for booty, right?" "Yes! Tha'sgood."
Vidya nodded, letting the jeweled tip of her staff rest against the floor of the store again. After a second of considering what Khia had said, she stared to prattle on once more.
"Sometime yes, Sometime no! S'much funner to FIND treazure than fight for it! 'sides, Viddy dunno how to REALLY fight jus'yet! Shhh..."
She giggled, pressing her fingertips against her lips, as if the fighting thing was a secret. Vidya figured she'd learn eventually, but the most important thing was getting a weapon. Looking around, she pointed to one of the cabinets against the wall of the store. She felt it was okay to tell; after all, all of the treasure in that cabinet had been looted!
"Cap'n Tybo n'Viddy find treazure in there. Like...Shinies! We gots to squish bugs n' EVERYTHING! Was fun, vurry fun!"Khia tilted his head at that. "Khia can fight, taking lessons from Sinsei..." He nodded slowly, then crept over to the cabinet to inspect it, tugging at his karate gi just a little...for him, wearing clothing was sort of uncomfortable, and he was still getting used to it.
"Cap'n Tybo is bright feather-bird, yes?" There really was no other way to explain Tybalt, at least, not in Khia's head. He wondered if he'd get to play with the "pirates" together some day - finding treasure sounded awfully fun, and he knew how to fight - sort of."A Sinsei? Liiike...a master, yes?"
Vidya leaned her head to the side and followed after Khia. That particular cabinet had proven to be empty, save for heavily caked on dust with two strange trails from the pirates duo's adventures, and of course bug guts.
She nodded, then pointed at herself.
"Yes! Tha's Cap'n Tybo! Viddy's tha firs' mate!"The shapeshifter child nodded, a few strands of his hair slipping free from the paintbrush ponytail he'd put it up into to practice. "Sinsei says Khia is a natural" He was proud, very proud, of his skills - he was learning so fast...like he'd been born for it.
"Ew..dirty...and no more treasure." His ears drooped for a moment, "Khia come search for treasure with Viddy and the Cap'n sometime?"

...//Solo - Balancing Work and Play (04.05.2005) Khia was learning martial arts so fast! He'd already risen quickly through the ranks of the yellow belts, and into senior green - it had only been a short while! Apparently, the child had a high natural affinity for combat.
Syrie was determined to make the little furrball hold still for a picture. Hadn't happened yet. He was also determined to get Khia a staff, or something that the boy could use later on when he became more proficient with his studies. As per their deal, Khia got to play and take martial arts...and Syrie got to put the boy through his studies.
It was a working agreement - Khiarhu was highly intelligent, even for a magically manifested child of a book - so it wasn't hard at all. Just time consuming...and of course...Khia would rather be running around than reading a book! Kids!

...//GRP - Compiled Shop RP (April 08 ) Quote: With sleepy steps Chao decended the stairs, Aido at her side. They were still staying at the Stationary shop as Huni had not returned yet. She eyed Silent on the couch and waved lightly to the newcomers, yawning widely as she did so.
Aido yawned as well, rubbing her eyes as she hopped off the final step and glanced out the window, grinning as she saw the sun through the windows. Aha! If it was sunny and not raining she could go outside! And that meant expending some of the restless energy that'd built up, maybe even exploring a bit...Silent's body lay still. Unmoving. Her chest didn't rise and fall like a human when they slept. But she was a light sleeper. She heard all the noises around her but didn't make any motion showing that she was awake. Angelus rustled in her grasp. She would have smirked but kept her features frozen. Angelus eyed Aido and Chao. He gave them both a smile, when the bell from the front door caught his attention. The tattoo on his shoulder started to itch once more. Akiya. His eyes widened in excitement.Darkness slept atop the bookcases. Not making a word. Becoming one with his surroundings. Feeling his ride come to a halt, he slowly opened his gold eye grumpily. What was going on now? He didn't like waking up right there, the soothing feel of Akiya floating in the air something that soothed him. But they were back at the Shop. Already? But now there were more people. Two others like him and two human-ish types. They appeared human, but he wasn't sure if they were or not. Both eyes open now, he watched this with a wary expression..Seeing that Angelus was awake, he smiled softly. "Hello again, Angelus." Not knowing the other two well, he inclined his head politely to them. "Greetings. I'm Akiya and this is Jiro. A pleasure to meet you." Blinking the last of sleep away Chao returned Akiya's gesture, "it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Akiya and Jiro. I'm Chao and this," she gestured to Aido who was leaning against her leg, eying the new Tale curiously, "is Aido."
Aido smiled gently at the new Tale, waving one hand lightly when she caught the boy's golden eye for a moment.Silent listened to the greetings each parent exchanged. She didn't know if she wanted to converse just yet. Her meeting with Glory really ticked the woman off, causing her to think. To plan. To plot. Her vampire killer instincts usually rose when she felt that herself and her family was in danger. Especially Angelus. Angelus flapped his wings slightly causing his feathers to rustle. It's good to see you again, Akiya. He sent to the angel. Brown chocolate eyes went to the boy in his arms. Another Tale? The scent in the air revealed that aspect. His eyes flashed yellow for an instant and went back to their natural hue of brown. Angelus kept his lips closed, hiding his sharp teeth. New scents usually caused his more primal instincts to arise. Shaking his head, he felt his canines smooth over, going back to the shape of a regular tooth. He cocked his head to the side, curious eyes scanned the boy. He seemed much different than the other Tales. Wether it was good or bad, he would have to find out.Kira sighed, running a hand through her hair in frustration as she pushed the door to the shop open, careful not to smack her bulging belly into anything. As the door closed behind her, she gently wrapped her hands protectively over the swell before looking around her. She'd seen the shop around, but her curiosity had finally been peeked enough to go inside."Indeed it is, Angelus." His smile was warm before he glanced at Jiro, who was studying him unhappily. Nodding, he set the boy down so he could stand on his own two feet. "Chao and Aido. I'll do my best to remember those names." They were both watching him, like there was something wrong with him. How nice. Looking at Aido, a brow shifted before he waved lightly before he glanced at Angelus. He wasn't the typical Tale, oh no Jiro was not. But he doubted anyone would easily be able to tell that. Tugging lightly on a white braid, he kept his lips pressed together, not feeling comfortable enough to speak."As I will your's," Chao looked at Jiro momentarily, "I take it that little one's a Tale, hn?" How many were there now? It had to be over ten, not that Chao was complaining. It was just interesting.
Aido smiled at the return wave, happy to have even gotten so slight a reaction from the other Tale. That was enough, she moved away from Chao and looked about the room, debating on approaching the other Tale or just leaving him be. It was hard to tell what the other was thinking. Her bi-colored eyes flickered to Angelus then to window and the restless feeling returned. Still, she pushed it back and took a few steps forward, smiling to the other Tale, "nice to me' you," she'd finally picked up the greeting, she gestured to herself, "Ai," she looked to Kiro expectantly.Silent slowly opened her eyes. No point in playing dead the whole time. Raising her arms above her head, her school girl outfit rose above her naval. Her skirt slid a tad up her thigh. Knee high boots imprinted their heels in the couches arm rest. Oops. With a finger, Silent loosened the hold of the collar on her neck. Brown eyes gazed to the Tales and the parents. " Morning." A vampire didn't do very well in day time. Her actions were slightly sluggish as she rose to a sitting position, Angelus was placed upon her lap now. Angelus flapped his wings a bit more. An action of curiosity. His eyes glanced to Aido then back to Jiro. He seemed distant. Uncaring. How do you approach someone like that? Suddenly he felt his body move. Silent was awake. She placed him on her lap. His brown eyes rose up to the bookcase. Darkness wasn't there. Where did he go?The bird had flown down to the ground. He cawed and his body rippled out. A black snake with red eyes was in it's place. He slithered his way towards Silent and Angelus. Silent felt something writhing up her leg and noticed the snake. It must be Darkness, she thought.Angelus let out his hand and the creature wrapped around his fingers.Pen looked around oddly, moving towards the book shelves. Being a massive bibliophile, they were the first thing she was drawn towards. Even the gathering of toddlers in the middle of the room didn't draw her attention away from the books. She didn't want to interrupt the individuals conversation anyway. She sighed, resting a hand across her stomach as she scanned the titles. It had been quite awhile since Inle and Tybalt had stopped by the shop, and with the weather being so nice as of late, they decided it was time for a visit. The going was slow; Tybalt, as independent as ever, had decided he was going to walk the whole way. Of course, his short legs certainly weren't going to win any races anytime soon, and Inle stifled the urge to scoop him up and carry him the remaining distance more than once. They finally arrived, however, and Tybalt pushed the door open, its bells jingling merrily. He stopped a few paces in, surprised at all the unfamiliar faces, and Inle scooted in behind him, making a beeline for the chair she had claimed as her own. Tybalt planted his clawed feet far apart and crossed his arms over his chest. A calculating gleam was in his eye as he silently inspected these new (to him) Tales. "Hmm? Ah hai, he is. I just received him into my care last night. My family and I are doing our best to make him feel comfortable in his new home." Jiro was holding onto the edge of his Chinese style shirt and he knew what was wrong. He ws not feeling comfortable. but then again, these were new people. When the bell sounded again, he noticed another caretaker and Tale enter the shop. Ah the pirate one, as Hanai called him. This would prove to be very interesting indeed. "Jiro? Why don't you get to know them, hmm? I'll be over there." He pointed towards where his box was kept. "Not far." Patting his head, he gently got him to let go and sat down at the wall, needing a nap but waiting it out. Akiya was leaving him alone with them. Normally, he wouldn't care. Actually, he didn't. It took him a bit to gather himself mentally, glad his face showed no outward flicker of emotion. The girl was named Aido... the winged one Angelus... His head tilted slowly to the side as Tybalt arrived, running a hand along his black choker, a slow smirk crossing his lips. Heh, a schemer.. the glow in his eyes spoke a lot.
After he finished his silent study of them, he smoothly settled onto the floor. What on earth did they do with each other? Stare them all down til one caved? Booooring. But what to do in the meantime?Chao watched the exchange and sighed. The toddlers were quite, but it didn't seem like anything needing the Author's eyes would happen at the moment. She headed over and sat down in another of the plush chairs.
Aido sighed at the lack of a name in return, halo glowing softly for a moment. As the bell jangled and Tybalt and Intel her attention focused on the door for a moment before sweeping over the other Tales. Nope, no one was really doing much of anything. With a wave to Tybalt for a greeting she headed for the door. It wasn't quite closed, she could get through. Easy. It wasn't all that heavy after all, just getting it open was difficult from the inside. She wanted to explore outside the shop, before it got dark. For once, Syrie used the front door - rather, it could be said that for once Syrie wasn't upstairs in his study. No, this time he was brining Khia back from his martial arts lessons, and the small black furball walked beside him in his karate gi, the belt purple with a small green strip - newly added. Khia was all smiles as he walked into the Stationary shop, and even more so when he saw many of his "friends" - and people that could be friends! "Hi!!" Syrie smiled nervously at all the people, he reaaaaaaally didn't do well with crowds... and anything over two tended to be viewed as a crowd in his eyes. Silent watched Angelus and the other Tales. She couldn't remember a time when there was so many together. But it was quiet. Too quiet. Lowering the winged boy to the floor, she stretched her arms above her head, willing the kinks to leave her body. Her eyes scanned the shop. So many people. Angelus looked around. He noticed Aido leave out the open door. He wanted to follow her. Did she want company? But his curiousity wanted him to stay. To learn about the new Tales. Darkness slithered his across the boys fingers. Angelus flapped his wings and a small breeze went through the shop. His eyes landed on the bird. Wings? Like him? But his were colorful. Angelus looked at his own. Black. His eyes glanced to Akiya's Tale. Too quiet. Shrugging his shoulders, he started to follow Aido. He didn't want to stand around anymore. He looked to Jiro and the bird Tale. " Explore?" he asked, as if inviting them to come along. He nearly collided with the new Tale that walked into the shop. He looked up to him. He was much bigger than the rest, but he didn't want this to interrupt the exploration that may come about.Pen glanced over at the gathering, blinking a few times. She...must not have looked at the children assembled too hard. A bird, an anthroish... Okie, she was more than weirded out right now. Course...she really shouldn't have been considering she had a girl at home that had manifested from a poof of smoke. But hey, you know how people react to the unusual.
Tybalt nodded first at Aido, watching her for a moment as she came his way, before turning his attention to the others once more. "'Hoy, Keeha," he said, not turning to the gi-clad fur-ball as he greeted him. Tybalt didn't quite like the look of the other two Tales, the oddly dressed boy and the one with wings like himself, and his feathers ruffled, making him appear a tad larger.
He was about to refuse said winged boy's request, but if Ai was heading for the door and HE was heading for the door, then they must be going together, and Tybalt didn't trust the boy around his ally. The child was much too large for his tastes, and he didn't think Aido could take him on in a fight. "'Spose," he said grudgingly after a moment. "Where we go?"
Khiarhu's tail swished and he returned the Cap'n's greeting, turning a bit to glance after Aido. "Ai?" He was excited - his favorite people were there...but who was that strange boy that almost ran into him? The one following his friend? "Everyone going outside?" He asked Tybalt, turning - his guardian forgotten in the excitement of seeing friends, and possibly making more. Khia's fur rippled strangely under his gi, as though it were alive all on it's own.
Syrie slunk off to hide in his study, after waving to some of the others. He had his black book and was scribbling in it, even as he tried to slink away.
Akiya wasn't liking how quiet Jiro was, though he wasn't a noisy child to begin with. He had the feeling this might happen. Waving to Sy when he came in, he looked at Jiro, who was now studying him again. The boy was shaking his head. He wasn't going to do this.
Since he hadn't know he was supposed to hand over his name, he didn't offer it. But when there was the offer to go outside, his nose curled. They had to be out of their mind. "No, thank you." His voice was hard to understand at first because his accent was strange. "I spent most of my day outside.. the light hurts my eyes.. so inside I shall be staying." Pushing himself to his feet again, he went over to Akiya and sat in his lap. He didn't want to stay here. He wanted to go home. Closing his eyes, he folded his arms over his chest and waited for them to leave.
Then maybe Akiya would take them home.
"Jiro..." It was weird for him to be this innately stubborn, but he carefully took out his chopsticks and worked on braiding the boy's hair. It probably would have turned out different if he hadn't woken up grumpy
Smiling at Khia and Syrie Chao stood and slipped away to the kitchen herself. She had a pie to finish, and she trusted Khia and Angelus to watch after Aido and make sure the little girl didn't wander too far.
At her name Aido turned, grinning at the sight of Khia. "Khia!" she grinned happily, noticing out of the corner of her eye that Capn' Tybalt and Angelus seemed to have decided to come with her on the impromptu expedition. She paused infront of the door, waiting for them. "Wanna e'plore?" she asked the older Tale, eyes shining at the prospect. She'd spent most of her day inside and the restless energy inside her was far too bothersome to ignore. She didn't know what they'd explore but it would be better than staying inside! At Jiro's decline her eyes flickered to him then back to the door. It was alright, not everyone liked to explore, it was his choice after all.Silent watched the Chao go to the kitchen. Might as well do something. Rising from her spot, Silent followed suit. She was bored. Angelus cocked his head to the side at the bird. What kind of tone was that? Untrust? Angelus only met the female Tales, except for Linny. Everyone of them were somewhat agrreable. Angelus stretched his wings over his head. Angelus wasn't one to use his mouth. Rolling his eyes he sent to the bird. Wherever Aido feels like to take us. Angelus sent to him. He rose an eyebrow at the parrot. It didn't seem like he was patient with the boys. Girls he could handle. Guys got on his nerves. Brown eyes rose to look at the taller figure. " Yes. Outside. Join?" Simple one answer words.
Angelus' gaze went to the boy, Jiro. He narrowed his eyes at him. Angelus was definately nocturnal, but even he needed to burn off some energy. A snicker came to his lips as the boy sat on Akiya's lap. Wear shades. Be a child and stay behind. Even a girl has more energy than you. More will. How sad. He sent a smartallick reply. Even though he was Akiya's child, he didn't appreciate being brushed off like nothing. He really didn't get along with the boys. Oh well. He could live with that.
His gaze turned to Aido. " Explore?" He wanted to leave as soon as possible.Darkness wrapped his way around Angelus' neck and perched himself on the boys shoulder. Looking to the other winged boy his body rippled. On Angelus' shoulder perched a parrot with the same markings as the boy. Darkness looked like an actual Parrot to a pirate. He cawed. "Land ho. Land ho. Full speed ahead." Angelus only rolled his eyes. Show off. Tybalt scowled at the boy who dared to invade the privacy of his thoughts, his talons digging a bit into the floor of the shop. His anger was averted, however, by the miniature version of himself perched upon the boy's shoulder, and he emitted a rare chuckle. "Weerd bird," he said, before turning away. "Where we go, Ai?" he asked. Khia nodded, but then glanced back at the very sullen looking boy that had climbed into his parent's lap. "Khia come out and explore in just a minute...'kay?" His ears wiggled, making the tassley tufts dance a bit. He didn't want to leave anyone out, and this person had a VERY intersting scent. The boy with the serious expression seemed to be making Cap'n irritable - Kiarhu caught that from the body language...but he knew that going outside with Aido would make them feel better. "Hi, I'm Khia" He went over to Jiro, and though he couldn't smile per se, he could emote a smile with his tail and such. "Who you?" The look Angelus was shot could have easily curdled milk, his eyes glowing in irritation before he scoffed and looked away. "To be called a woman cause one wants to rest their feet after running around all day? Be that it is to you, I care not." He easily dismissed Angelus, looking at Akiya like he was nuts. Akiya had told him that this tale with wings was rather interesting. Sounded like a stuck up punk to him.
Now another was botherng him with his presence. One who looked nothing like the others. "Jiro..." Since he had just asked for his name, Jiro saw no reason to not tell him. "You be?"Chao looked over as Silent came in and grinned, she'd already gotten out all the ingrediants she needed to make homemade pudding and a previously frozen crust was on the counter, "wanna help me finish a pie?"
Aido glanced back to look at the possible brewing confrontation between Jiro and Ang'lus. She placed her hand on the door and pushed it open, waving her free hand towards Khia, "see you soon Khia!" she called back before looking to Tybalt and Angelus and smiling, nodding a greeting to Darkness, "yes e'plore." At Tybalt's question she paused, pushing the door a little father open, "I'unno where we go.... Where'r we go we go, righ'?" she asked, cocking her head. It didn't matter where they went to her, just the fact that they could explore someplace new was pleasing enough for her. The fact that her friends were coming with her made it all the better.Silent smiled and walked over to the counter. " Sure. " Silent turned her out to the outer door. In a loud voice, she called to the owners. " Would anyone like pie?" Angelus was barely fazed by the boys look. The winged boy only rolled his eyes at the pompous boy. He really was lazy. He'd rather have his hair done then do physical activities. It seemed womanly to him.
His gaze turned to the feathered boy. He also had an attitude. A look was shot to Darkness at the comment. Weird bird. He shook his head. He must correct this boy. " Not a bird. A shapeshifter." What a child. Without another word said, he followed Aido out into open air. His eyes squinted in the sun. He never like the light, but his urge to get out and do something far outweighed a little light flooding his vision.Darkness only eyed the winged boy. His thoughts went to Angelus. Weird bird? How he laughs when I mimic his own colors. Strange child. Yes. Child. Angelus, why do you hang around such children? You're far much better than they are. Stronger. Smarter. Why? Why be around them? Darkness questioned. The time was coming. Soon. Tybalt shrugged; bird, shapeshifter, to him it didn't matter. The creature imitated him, and it stroked the vain part of his ego quite nicely. He strutted towards the door, his puffed feathers belying his contentment. He turned back towards the remaining Tales before walking out the door. "Come soon, Keeha, k!" A tone of easygoing authority laced his voice; this wasn't a command, per se, merely a suggestion. "Aye Cap'n" Khia responded, turning his head from the colorful boy-child for a moment to comment to the parrot boy. "Khiarhu. Everyone calls me Khia." He frowned at the strong words between the boys, and shook his head. "Sometimes tired. Khia gets tired after class, Sensei says rest is good." the shapeshifting felid/lupine child flicked his tail slowly. "Jiro is a good name. Very pretty clothes too. Sure you don't want to come with?" The dark fur shimmered and seemed to crackle and shift strangely if Jiro looked long enough. As far as he was concerned, Angelus wsa someone to ignore entirely. Someone who listened to a shapeshifting bird was so much smarter than he was? Oh he highly doubted that. It wasn't like Angelus had done anything wrong by politely declining so Angelus' rudeness was not needed. Perhaps he should rip out that smart tongue of his... but he curbed the thought. Shouhin wouldn't like that much. However, he had better things to do than deal with idiotic Tales. He cared not if he was friend's with his father or not, they were not going to be friends. Ever. Akiya wound up his braid and put the chopsticks back in place while Jiro yawned slightly, covering it with a long sleeved hand.
Oh he noticed that something was very different about Khia. It caught his interest as a faint smile showed on his face. "You smell interesting... you can change shapes hmm?" It wasn't that he was a knowall or anything, but it was just something he could feel. At the invitation, he wrinkled his nose. "My presence isn't overly welcomed, so it's fine. Mayhap some other time... thank you for the offer, Khia..."Trying to ignore the fact Angelus and Jiro were most definitely not getting along, he called to the ones int he kitchen. "I'm good with pie, thanks." Chao grinned evilly at Silent, "you are now my minion. Prepared to spend upwards of five minutes stirring this stuff."
Aido grinned as the sunlight washed over her, away from the trouble brewing between the two Tales and into a world of infinite directions to set off in and even more places to explore. Still.... she knew Aemu would worry if they wandered too far. Best to stay more or less close to the shop. She turned to Angelus and Tybalt, "Ang'lus and Capn Tybo wanna e'plore ou' back?" she pointed to the path that led to the backyard of the Stationary Shop, "or somewhere else?"Oh heavens no. A minion? Fine, I guess stirring is in order." She took the bowl and spoon and continued her mission. " Ok! " She yelled out to Akiya. Angelus didn't listen to the bird, but it didn't stop him from thinking. He shook his head to rid himself of the thoughts. They're not children. They're like me.Darkness only laughed at the boy. You have power. An inner power. A power that the others are jealous of. Do you see how the male's treat you? With no respect. Why? Because they're jealous. Darkness filled the child with crazy theories. The bird didn't talk like this. Not until now. Not when the trap was so close. Angelus turned his attention to Aido. He didn't want to stray too far from the shop. " Backyard." he answered. It was sensible. In case anything happened, the grownups were near by.Tybalt pondered this for a moment. The road beyond the shop seemed to beckon to him, promising adventure and appealing to his love of exploration. However, there was Ai and the boy to consider. He had no weapon, so he wouldn't be able to protect his ally should they encounter danger, and the boy...well, Tybalt didn't really believe he would be able to defend himself. The backyard really did seem like the most reasonable choice. "Backyard, ya." Perhaps there would be something interesting back there, in spite of the fact that there was no adventure to be had while getting there. Khia tilted his head, but nodded - it wasn't often that people understood what he was. Viddy's mom had known, yes...because she was scented the same way. "Yup. I'm shapeshifter!" The tall furry black child swished his tail again, as if he were thinking something over. "Come? Cap'n and Ai and Khia want Jiro to come." Khia's mind was no where as simplistic as his speech, but he found it hard to form words with a muzzle. "Shouldn't be like Syrie, always hiding." Of course, Khia meant no harm with what he said, and he genuinely wanted this boy to come out. He was pretty. He had long hair, and feathers like Tybalt and Viddy...plus, he smelled veeery interesting. Jiro was rather pleased with the fact he had been right in his guess and he scratched his cheek faintly before he shrugged. Father wanted him to interact with others. And if he could keep a decent distance from Angelus, then he highly doubted anything would happen. It wasn't like he wanted to talk to him or anything of that sort.
He didn't take offense to what Khia said, but he did sigh. "Not hiding... but I'll come..." He lived away from the shop anyway.. he saw tons of adventures there. But there weren't any like him. Still not showing much emotion, he got down from Akiya's lap. "I'll follow you then.."In the other room Chao's faux cackles could be heard as she went about emptying the last of the things into the pot and checking that the crust was holding up alright.
Aido grinned, "then we go!" she cheered, glad they all agreed. She cast a last glance back into the shop, but couldn't see into the shadows and Rael seemed to be in no mood to go investigate for her. She just hoped Khia would come along soon, if he got Jiro to come it would be good too, she just hoped, if that was the case, he and Angelus didn't start fighting like they'd seemed about to in the shop. Her halo glowed uneasily at the thought of a possible approaching conflict, though it mostly looked as if it was just refracting sunlight. She shook it off and hopped down the stairs, beginning to make her way towards the backyard, predicting the future was usually useless anyway.Angelus followed Aido and Tybal to the backyard. The sun shone down brightly on the ground. He always felt an unease in the daylight. He didn't understand why. Darkness kept talking to him. Angelus? Angelus! Are you listening? You insolent little thing. No wonder God kicked you out. Angelus froze in his tracks. What did he say? His brown eyes looked to the parrot on his shoulder. That's right. You were disobedient. Never listened. God didn't want you so he kicked you out. And you fell. And kept falling and until you fell to the deepest part of the earth. The hottest part. Your white wings burned from the ashes and heat. Do you wonder why they're black? Well, now you know. The parrot rose up from his shoulder and landed in front of him. His little form rippled. This time, an older man stood in his place. A tall man with black eyes and black hair put into a ponytail. Not as long as Akiya. Only to his shoulder. He wore a pressed suit. Smiling, his fangs shown behind his lips. I think you need to be taught a thing or two. Before Angelus could do anything, the man was on him. He wrapped his hand around the boys mouth. Silencing him. The winged boy kicked, trying to looses the man's hold. Opening his mouth, he bit down on the hand. Hard. A yowl escaped Darkness' lips. He looked towards a tree that was in the back yard. " A little help here?" In an instant, a cloaked figure stepped from behind the tree. She took the hood off. Glory. A sinister smile was on her lips. She put the hood back on. " Must a woman do everything. " Taking a potato sack she ran over to Darkness and quickly dropped the bag over the child. The bag squirmed. She tied it up. A smile came to her lips as she looked at Darkness. "See? Easy." Darkness put his fingers to his mouth, mumbling. With his free hand, he placed it on her shoulder. In a few moments they were gone. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silent was preparing the pie when a howl was heard from the back of the shop. It wasn't a childs howl. Before she knew it, a feeling of dread swept through her body. Dropping the bowl and spoon on the floor, her legs raced out to the backdoor. She forgot that it was day and the sun was out. Opening the door, she stopped at the doorway. She watched Glory come from behind the tree and quickly sweep Angelus up in a potato sack. Coherent thoughts didn't run through the Vampiress' mind. She ran out into the daylight. For as long as she lived, older vampires grew to be able to stand in daylight for a longer period of time, but it was still deadly and could kill. She ran. Ran towards her screaming son, but Darkness vanished. She ran towards the tree. Gasps escaped her lips. Third degree burns ran all over her skin. Before she knew it, she dropped to the floor in shock. She didn't register the pain. Her face was blank. Angelus was gone. Khia "smiled" at Jiro, tail swishing happily; fur doing that strange shifting motion it did when he was excited. "Come then, we'll sit and watch them!" He waited to be certain Jiro would follow, and then lead the doll-like boy outside to the back porch of the stationary shop. There was a small table there, and chairs for the adults, and also a small table and chairs made for wee-ones that Syrie had brought out when Khia began practicing in the yard weeks ago. At the sudden scruffling noises Aido turned, taken aback as she watched Darkness transform. Immediately Rael was at her side, caution and stealth thrown to the wind, the Shadow beast snarling deeply at the man and woman. Aido hesitated, just for a moment, as the potato sack went over Angelus' head she snapped away from it and charged. Only to trip as they group disappeared. Pushing herself up she looked around franticly, "Ang'lus?! ANG'LUS?!" A voice surfaced in her mind, I don't understand! Yesterday they were happy and healthly, we were all joking and laughing like tomorrow would never come. But now... now, they're gone... She shivered and pushed it away as Silent ran past her. Running after the woman and throwing her hands over her as she fell, Rael shifted, becoming a much larger beast, his own shadow covering Silent, keeping her out of the sun's deadly rays. Immediately Aido was looking around again, tears of panic and fear for her friend trailing down her cheeks. Where was Angelus?!
Chao had immediately followed Silent as the woman ran out, pie forgotten. But they were too late, even as the dagger she always kept sheathed and hidden at her side slid from its case the group had disssappeared. Immediately her eyes sought out Aido, instinctively making sure her daughter was still alright. Aido was, Silent wasn't, Angelus was missing. Shivering at how quickly everything had just come to pass Chao ran over, her mind so frazzled that even questioning Rael's sudden appearance was out of the question. "We-we need to get her inside," she murmured, focusing on what they could do as she took hold of Silent, instead of their inability to know where the other Tale was now."Un..." He followed after him a bit hesitantly, still unsure if he really wanted to be doing this or not. But he had given his word and he would follow it. If it was just them sitting somewhere and watching then that was just peachy keen with him. But something seemed to be happening, a fit of panic that he more felt than really saw. However, a scent was missing. The loud mouthed annoying one... that scent was missing.
Seeing his father come bursting out of the shop made him wonder. This must be serious if his father looked that angry before. "Damn it..." He had felt their energies and now they were gone. He was worried about Angelus... Khia finally noticed the commotion, his head cocked curiously. "What going on? " He noticed someone was missing....the one that was irritating Jiro. The one with...that thing...yes, the thing that was Other. "Where he go? What happened?" Khia's tail poofed out, his red eyes glittering strangely as he checked to be certain the others were okay.... Aido glanced over at the new voices moving with Chao and Rael as they began to haul Silent towards the Stationary Shop. Obviously shaken, though her tears had stopped. "Ang'lus' gone. Darkness n'nother lady took him," she dropped her gaze and glared at the ground, still moving. She was angry at herself, regardless of how much she actually would have been able to do, she wished she'd done something more. But mostly she was scared for her friend....
Beside her Rael looked over at the other two Tales, he looked rather like a very large canine of some sort, golden eyes glowing from within the shadows. He really disliked being in the open, but Aido didn't want the woman his form was keeping in shade to burn anymore, so what choice did he have?
"They just disappeared, Silent ran out, she tried to get to Angelus. Now she's in bad shape, sunlight and vampires don't mix. Khia do you know where the first aid kit is?"Khia nodded - better than a first aid kit - he knew where Syrie was. Syrie was a healer. He'd seen his guardian heal his small scrapes and cuts with ease. "I'll bring, wait just second!" The shapeshifter child zoomed back into the shop, and then upstairs to where the hermit-kitsune was. "Silent hurt! Come down, come down!!!" Kiarhu grabbed Syrie's hand and pulled the kitsune until the words sank in. Once Syrie understood he grabbed a first aid kit, and actually lept out the door, movements as swift as any creature born of the spirit realm. Outside, his sharp eyes quickly took the situation in; and he knew they had to move Silent. She couldn't be in the sun like this...nor could he help her when she was in the sun....they needed to move her inside, and he said as much, as he knelt by the prostrate woman. Khia came out of the house after Syrie, no where near as fast as his guardian could be, he was worried. Aido was worried. Syrie was worried. Someone was missing again...and...this was Not Good. Chao nodded her consent to Syrie and hefted Silent up into a better position for carrying, watching as Syrie grabbed the opposite side, and quickly heading for the Stationary Shop. She managed to keep Silent's form in her, Syrie and Rael's shadow as she went, constantly double checking herself to make sure a stray limb didn't slip into the sun's rays.
Aido followed quickly, still worrying, still unsure of what to do, but at least the adults seemed to have some idea as to what to do. Her mind felt dull with shock, though at least that seemed to be a step above [or below, she didn't know] the panic she'd felt a moment before. To be continued.... [thankyou Chao, for compiling the rp.]

...//Solo - The Importance of Writing "Do I gotta?" The little black shapeshifter crinkled his nose and huffed unhappily as his father sat him at the desk with paper to write. Syrie always said it was very important to write down one's thoughts...Khia thought it silly! If he wrote down the wrong thoughts, someone might read them! But there he was, pencil in paw, paper on desk.
Writing.
Words on Paper Met some new people yesterday - this really neat looking boy was with Aiiu...he had some pretty black wings, but was kind of cold when he walked by. His name was Angelus. I think he was fighting with this other boy named Jiro. I kind of liked Jiro's scent, he's really pretty too. His hair is awesome, all long and he wears these stick things in it!! I think I want long hair...maybe he'd show me how he puts his hair up with sticks?
He didn't wanna come play, but I think it was just 'cause he's shy or something. Still, I got him to agree to it, and that was pretty cool...wish we could've visited more. Maybe I'll see if Dad'll take me to see him again!
Khia couldn't sit still any longer, he had to get up and run around, too much energy in his system. He showed the page of loose, badly written-but intelligent scrawl to Syrie, and then bolted off when he was told it was enough.
"YAY!! I'm goin' outside!!"
Syrie just shook his head and closed the small black Tome. "Be careful kiddo."

...//Solo - Visiting the Hospital :: Arri & Andi (04.10.2005) Syrie strode into the hospital ward, his small charge holding his hand and rubbernecking at everything. The antiseptic smell of the hospital didn't agree with either of the two males - but they were there.
Khia wanted to leave Andi his Easter gift, and would not be swayed from his self-appointed task. Upon having the other boy's comatose state explained, he'd become even more adamant, insisting that maybe the gift would help the other child.
The pair made their way down the hospital ward, moving to the room they'd been directed to by the nurses. Huni had made certain that Syrie was on the contact list for the sickly pair. "Hello?" Syrie's soft voice cut through the still-quiet of the hospital room. The kitsune found it hard to breathe here, but he wouldn't leave until he'd seen both Arri and Andi.
Khia moved forward to look at the pale boy in the hospital bed. "Andi?" He'd heard the adults calling this child by that name, so that's what he assumed his name was. "I brought you your Easter present. Khia and Ren made it special for you..."
The boy talked a mile a minute after setting the gift down on the nightstand next to the hospital bed; telling Andi about everything that had happened at easter, and finishing with the disappearance of Angelus. Syrie had to cut in and collect his charge.
"Come Khiarhu...we still need to visit Arrikanez..." Syrie reached over and stroked the comatose boy's hair, smoothing it back gently. "Wake soon, little one..."
After leaving the children's ward, they made their way to the ward Arri was being kept in; Syrie went in while Khia waited at the door. He murmured something softly over the man on the bed, perhaps a prayer to his god for his health, and then plucked a small flower bud from his hair, using his magic to cause it to bloom. The small rose he set down on the stand next to the man's bed, and then turned, his expression sad.
It was time to go. Both the Tale and his guardian needed to be out of this place..it was depressing, and it drained on Syrie's energy to stay there. They left as quietly as they came - the kitsune had business to attend to - some of which involved the medical bills that were being forwarded through him for the moment.
