Huni Pi
Huni had just finished placing the very last of the boxes upstairs, a feat the red head found almost insurmountable given her physical strength. It was time for a break and Linneas had just woken up.

"Morning sweetie." Huni greeted, cradling the infant into her arms. "You hungry?"

Linneas yawned and rubbed his eyes, not understanding what his mother was saying. Icing was perched on Huni's shoulder and was eyeing the Tale warily in case Linneas thought to make a grab for him.

"Well lets go down then." Huni smiled as she headed down the stairs into the shop.

chaoticdivinity
It was odd for the teen to be wandering around Barton, but Chao had needed some extra clothing and the aftermath of the holiday season had been getting to her, so a nice, long walk around the outskirts of Barton had seemed like a good idea when she'd first started out.
But it was snowing, and it refused to stop. Atop her head she was sure there must be a rather large amount of snow piled up.
The warm looking stationary shop caught her eye immediately and quickly she turned. Hadn't she just gotten a message about the opening of a stationary shop?
She paused in the doorway, scanning the shop's glass window for something to trigger her memory, quickly sighting a familar name.
"Huni!" she murmered happily under her breath with a grin, having not seen her friend in a while she quickly pushed open the door, a small snow flurry billowing in with her along with a gust of cold air, which was cut off with a jolt as she pushed the door shut behind her.

Huni Pi
The red head had just reached the first floor when the sound of the door opening caught her attention. At first, she shielded herself from the oncoming cold wind and wasn't aware of who it was that entered. Was it Syrie, the only other person the Study would let in? Or was it a customer?

The moment the door closed, Huni's eyes grew wide in delight. "Chao!!!" she squealed, rushing over to her friend. Icing nearly fell of if he hadn't gripped onto the red head's shoulder tightly. Linny was a little surprised at the loud noise his mother made, and curiously turned to where Huni was moving towards.

"What brings you here?" Huni asked, carefully embracing Chao so as not to squish Linneas.

chaoticdivinity
Chao beamed as Huni embraced her, barely catching sight of poor Linneas before the child was pressed between them.
"Fate it seems," she said with a grin, returning the embrace with the same care. "I was out on a walk and caught sight of this place, saw your name on the front and remembered getting a flyer of some sort. Nice setup you've got here, by the way," the warm air just felt wonderful against her cold skin.
She stepped away from her friend and peered at Linneas, "hello there," she said cheerfull to the babe then looked up to Huni, "who's this?"

Huni Pi
"Hmm, fate eh?" Huni chuckled, "I actually have no idea who used to own this place, just that I now do. You should have seen how the second floor looked, there these claw marks and stuff." she shuddered, "Good thing Syrie helped me clean this place up."

Icing flapped his wings a little indignantly, being ignored wasn't something he liked. But the Dream's flapping made Linneas giggle and try to bat at him with the broom plushie.

"Oh this?" Huni grinned, adjusting her hold on Linny. "This is Linneas, I call him Linny now and then. You wouldn't believe how I got him."

chaoticdivinity

"Claw marks?" she frowned, that didn't sound quite...right. She felt a small shiver run up her spine. But it seemed like Huni felt safe here, after all she had Linneas with her.
At the belief comment, Chao chuckled slightly. She'd been around Gaia, and stranger places at that, before, belief wasn't really something she was short on.
Icings frustrated flappings caught her attention momentarily and she lightly waved to the little dream before focusing back on Linneas then glancing to Huni and grinning.
"Now I'm curious, can I hear his story?"

Huni Pi
"Yep, clawmarks, but I think they were just the way the wall paper fell and chipped away and then all these vermin started to nibble at it. Ah who knows." Huni shrugged, "I've been here for a few nights and I'm still alive."

Icing stopped his flustered beating and contented himself by preening his wings. He was safe on Huni's shoulders, Linneas couldn't reach him, not even with the plushie.

Upon hearing his mother say his name, Linny squirmed a bit, trying to reach out to Chao. "Preeee." he gurgled, waving his plushie at the woman.

"Well now, the story goes like this..." And Huni narrated the first time she saw the shop and discovered the study, sans a few of the embarrassing details of course. "He was under all that paper and a bucket and some rags were with him. How a baby got there and with cleaning products is just mind boggling. I placed those things in his room, inside a closet, who knows what sort of germs are crawling all over them. As for the plushie," And for emphasis, Linneas snuggled against the broom. "Well, Linneas won't part with it."

chaoticdivinity
Chao couldn't help but give her friend an odd look at the 'I've been here for a few nights and I'm still alive.' Deciding that whatever she said would do absolutely nothing, she settled for giving her friend a 'you're crazy' look then focusing her attention on Linny.
"Pree?" she repeated, crouching down so as to be more on the boy's level. Gently she ruffled his hair and gave his plusie a look over, before giving it an affectionate pat as well.
"You're right, it sounds kind-a unbeliable, and spooky," she muttered, after hearing Huni's tale, she lightly nuzzled her nose to Linny's and gave him a slightly sad smile. "I wonder how long he was there..." it could, of course, be another of Gaia's odd workings. Bringing together those who needed with those who could previde, or something. Gods knew there were enough of those running rampent with Gaian's lives on an everday baisis.
But... maybe it was just the case of an abandoned child?
Chao shuddered and hoped it hadn't been the later. Though paper bags and cleaning stuffs were far too suspisious for her happiness.
"He seems really happy," she said with a grin, breaking away from her own tense thoughts, "congratulations!"

Shiroi Mikomi
Shiroi walked through the streets of Barton, often pausing to look at the different shops. Glancing down the street, a quaint stationary shop caught her attention, and she walked closer to get a better look.

"Tall Tales by Huni Pi," she murmered, "I think I heard something about these... They're worth a look-through, at least."

She slipped inside the shop, following the sound of voices.

Huni Pi
Huni laughed at Chao's reaction, understanding completely how looney it made the red head appear.
"Yeah, Linny's a cheerful little tyke. I just hope I don't end up traumatizing him with my randomness." she chuckled. "And thanks for the congrats," she nodded, "hear that Linny? Aunty Chao says congratulations to us."

Linneas tilted his head at his aunt and nuzzled back, giggling happily. She was nice, like the other girl he had met the other day who wore white fur.

"Who knows, really. You know how crazy Gaia can be." Huni sighed, feeling herself grow sad and worried. "But we all have to do our best."

The sound of the door opening caught Linny's attention and he cooed at the new comer. "Pleee."

chaoticdivinity
((-snuggles her little newphykins- I lurve you Linny! <33))
Chao giggled softly as well, feeling herself falling for the cheerful little boy with the broom plush, even as a slight blush at being called 'aunty' quickly whiped accross her cheeks.
Ah well, if she was an aunt that meant she got to spoil her nephew....
"You won't tramatize him Huni, you'll be a great mother!" she said, pure belief and determination shining in her voice.
As Linny's attention went over her shoulder she stood, looking over to the newcomer. "Hello," she said cheerfully.

Huni Pi
"I hope so, but you'll help me take care of Linny won't you?" Huni asked, almost pleadingly. She was still unaccustomed to being a mother, receiving Icing from Arrikanez was wonderful and exciting as she had been prepared for a Dream. But Linneas came out of no where.

"Hello," Chao said cheerfully.

"Hm? Oh! Hello there, welcome to Tall Tales." Huni greeted.

chaoticdivinity
Chao smiled and gave her friend a one-armed hug. "Of course! I will be a good and dutiful aunt. Linny's a sweatheart, I'm honored to be asked to help in his upbringing." The last part was said rather formally, old insticts kicking in slightly.

Huni Pi
The red head chuckled at Chao's response, "Then it's settled! You are going to be Linny's official godparent! Now if only Gaia had some means of baptising..." she grinned, the glint in her eyes indicating she was kidding about the latter part.

Linny just tilted his head at the two women. He had no idea what they were saying, but their smiles and their tones didn't make him feel worried.

Icing on the other hand would have rolled his eyes if it was physically possible. Instead, the dream decided to practice his flying some more.

Nyxa
Nyxa had taken a fondness for perusing the shops lately; she'd found that, much like goldilocks would, that Gambino was much too hot, Durem was much too cold, and Barton was juuuuuust right. The prices, the atmosphere, they all suited her just fine, despite the fact that her home was in Durem.

Pausing in front of a curious looking stationary shoppe, Nyxa shoved open the door and made her way inside. "Hello? Is anyone here?"

chaoticdivinity
Chao beamed, a godparent! Her! Deciding not to squeal she gave Linny, 'my godson', a gentle hug instead.
"Hello!" she called back to the new voice cheerfully.

Huni Pi
"My we're getting lots of visitors today." Huni remarked to herself happily, "You two must be some sort of lucky charm." she grinned to Chao and Linny.

"Hello and welcome." Huni greeted.

Icing looked at Nyxa curiously, he had never seen a gaian with dark skin before. Believing that personal space involved only him, the Dream fluttered over to the new comer in a crooked line.

Nyxa
Nyxa cleared her throat, eyeing the Dream warily. She'd passed by the shop for these creatures many times before, but she'd never once been this close to one of them.

"Does it bite?" Nyxa was almost always wary about meeting new creatures. It was funny, watching a grown woman acting so frightened over a bird-like creature.

Huni Pi
"Oh don't worry, Icing's harmless." Huni assured the woman, the red head wasn't fond of destructive things. But whether destructive things were fond of her was another matter...

The Dream sensed Nyxa's fear and didn't quite like it. He wanted to make friends and be noticed so he tried his best to send out emotions of friendliness. Icing looked silly as he flapped his wings in attempts of hovering. Unfortunately he was getting tired and promptly perched on Nyxa's shoulder.

Nyxa
Nyxa nodded, flinching only slightly when the Dream perched on her shoulder. She trusted the redhead was the owner of this particular dream. "I was just passing by when I noticed your shop.. something drew me in, so here I am." With a wry grin she reached up to delicately touch the Dream's wing; the creature wasn't so bad a'tall.

chaoticdivinity
Chao let out a soft yawn, before glancing about and finding a rather comfortable chair for herself. Settling into it she waved lightly to Nyxa by way of welcome and greeting.

Huni Pi
Icing made himself comfortable on Nyxa's shoulder and was tempted to preen her hair to show his affection. Then again, he remembered that his 'mother' didn't like it when he tried that on her. Something about pain?

"Really?" Huni blinked, a little pleased at why Nyxa was here. "The shop's front is open to all, although the Study is currently off limits." she stated, not wanting to explain why just yet.

Linneas squirmed in Huni's arms, he wanted to move around on his own. And play with Aunty Chao some more as well. "Preee." he said, gesturing his free hands to the floor.

Nyxa
Nyxa chuckled at the Dream, blowing gently into its wing. "What sort of stationary do you sell here?" There was an odd feel to the shoppe, as if unspoken secrets emanated from every wall.

Nyxa eyed the baby. "So cute. I'm Nyxa, by the way."

chaoticdivinity
At the feeling of the babe's eyes on her Chao sat up a bit more caught his eye before smiling and standing once more, "want me to take Linny for a little Huni? It looks like he wants to play."
She lightly looked at Nyxa, deciding to take this introduction as directed at her as well, "nice to meet you Nyxa, I'm Chao," she said with a friendly smile.

Huni Pi
"Oh, just the usual, scented, plain pad paper, some with pressed flowers, nothing out of the ordinary." Huni explained, "We also have some notebooks and pens available." she added.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nyxa. I'm Huni and this little cutie is Linneas. You've already met Icing." the red head chuckled. Though Linneas' squirming was making things difficult. At Chao's offer, Huni nodded gratefully. "Will you? Thanks a lot." Huni breathed.

Linny gave Nyxa a curiously and a darling smile. With a wave of his broom plush, the Tale turned his attention back to Chao. "Preee~" he cooed.

Shiroi Mikomi
Shiroi stood there for a moment before her manners kicked in at the sight of Nyxa introducing herself. "I'm Shiroi, nice to meet you all."

chaoticdivinity
"Nice to meet you too Shiroi," Chao said before focusing back on Linneas.
She took the babe easily, rubbing the noes again, giggling softly, before snuggling him gently and proceeding to carry him over to a rug nearby. With one smooth motion she'd sat down and situated Linny on her lap.
"Whatcha wanna play Linny?" she asked, doubting that the baby would understand her words exactly, but hoping he'd get the gist of what she was asking.

Nyxa
Nyxa chuckled, gleefully waving at the baby as soon as it noticed her. "It's really a pleasure to meet you all. It's always nice to find a shop where people are warm and easy to talk to."

The raven haired girl tilted her head, "Why is the study closed? Under renovations?" She knew the question was silly; who would renovate in the dead of winter?

Huni Pi
"Hello Shiroi." Huni nodded, as Chao took Linneas from her. "Ah, that's better. Icing, don't try to preen Nyxa's hair, remember the last time you tried that on me?" she arched her brow. "Now, what can I interest you two ladies with?" she grinned.

Icing looked indignant and 'hmfd' at Huni.

The infant squealed in delight and snuggled against Chao affectionately. He wanted to show his Aunt all the neat stuff he had. The plushie was easy enough, all he had to do was raise it upwards. Besides, he'd already shown her that. The bucket and the rags were upstairs so that would be a little harder to do.
"Plaaa, plaa!!" He babbled, pointing upwards. Though it looked more like he wanted to be raised rather than be brought up.

Shiroi Mikomi
"Hm, I actually could use a notebook," Shiroi stated thoughtfully, "I've been meaning to write down a story I've had floating around in my head a while. It's just I've never had the time to do so."

chaoticdivinity
((I lurve his little plushie, I mean, common, a BROOM plushie? -wants one- it could be so many things in dress up as well, a hat, a bunch of snakes, grass! and...yeah >.> -mutters something about it being nearly 3 am thusly Chao's mind is attempting to desert her-))
Children should not be allowed to be this cute, Chao thought with a silly grin on her face before composing herself a bit more.
She cocked her head at Linny as he squealed and pointed. "Up?" she questioned before shrugging and picking the boy up, settling him in the crook of her arm.
"Where to now?" he either wanted to go someplace or play the 'let's attempt to fly!' game, which Chao would rather not play. Not unless she was somewhere surrounded by pillows and other soft cushion like things.

Nyxa
Nyxa chuckled at the childs antics; her little Zora was so different from him. "I was just passing by when I realized I could use some stationary, myself. Perhaps a new journal, for my Adrienne." She moved over to some shelves and perused the contents.

"Do you have pink journals? Dri's favorite color is pink."

Huni Pi
Nyxa
The raven haired girl tilted her head, "Why is the study closed? Under renovations?" She knew the question was silly; who would renovate in the dead of winter?

"Erm..." Huni trailed, "It's kind of a long story." Not one she was comfortable telling to people she had just met. "Maybe tomorrow I'll have the time to tell it." she chuckled.

Shiroi
"Hm, I actually could use a notebook," Shiroi stated thoughtfully, "I've been meaning to write down a story I've had floating around in my head a while. It's just I've never had the time to do so."

"Oh certainly, they're this way." Huni nodded, gesturing to the bookshelf where the notebooks were displayed.

Shiroi Mikomi
Shiroi browsed through the wide selection of notebooks, finally grabbing a dark red one.

"How much will this be?" She asked Huni, gesturing towards the notebook.

Huni Pi
Linneas clapped in delight as Chao picked him up, his own mother wasn't this perceptive. It usually took Huni a while to understand what he was saying. The Tale tried to reach out to the stairs that leads to the second floor, as he remembered going up and down those things to get to his room.

"Well we're having a special offer since it's the first day of the shop's official opening. It's free so long as you come back again tomorrow." Huni chuckled.

chaoticdivinity
Chao followed his line of sight and finger before pointing the same way, "up again huh?"
She glanced over at Huni, noting that she was with a customer. "Okay but," her eyes flickered to a clock on the wall and she grimanced, "we'll have to make it fast, okay Linny? Auntie Chao needs to head home soon or her brother will interrogate her and it won't be pretty."
She yawned again and adjusted the babe in her arms before heading towards, then up the stairs with ease, counting on Linny to guide her once they reached the second floor.

Nyxa
Nyxa, in the meantime, had been perusing the journals. She'd probably have to bring Dri back here to pick out her own journal. The girl could be darn picky sometimes.

"A sale, eh? I like the sound of that."

Shiroi Mikomi
"Are you sure?" Shiroi asked, "I don't want to rip you off or anything. But if you're sure, I'll definitely be back tomorrow."

Suddenly, she noticed the clock that was hanging on the wall. "Oh no, it's getting late, and I've got to get home! I'll see you all tomorrow!" With that, Shiroi hurried out of the store, slipping the notebook into her bag.

Huni Pi
Still having no idea what Chao was saying, Linny carefully stared at the second floor. It was a narrow hallway lined with doors, similar to apartment buildings or boarding houses, the wall papers were old and faded and the 'claw marks' Huni described could be seen at the very end. Thankfully Linny remembered which door his things were in. He pointed to the second door on the left and excitedly waved his plushie. He was proud of the bucket and rags for some reason.

"Heee, better take advantage of it while Syrie's not around. Not that he jacks the price up too high, he just thinks I'm too generous at time." Huni chuckled to Nyxa.

Nyxa
Nyxa giggled, "No doubt! I'll be back tomorrow, you can be sure of that. I can't say no to a sale." Idly she thumbed through a book she'd pulled from the shelves before setting it back up onto the shelf she'd taken it from.

Moving back towards the entry of the shop, Nyxa waved to the occupants, "I'll be here bright and early!"

chaoticdivinity
Chao felt a prickle of, well, something at the back of her neck and was thankful when Linneas pointed to his room. Somehow she managed to open the door without putting the infant down and they were inside a moment later, and only then did she let him down and take his tiny hand in hers, "what'cha want to show me Linny?" she asked, it didn't really matter whether or not he understood, but she liked to talk to the toddler. It gave her a greater sense of connection, or something of that sort.

Huni Pi
"Thank you, please come again!" Huni waved enthusiastically. It didn't matter to her if she didn't make much of a profit. Having visitors was payment enough for her. Of course she wouldn't let this be known to too many people, she had to think about how to pay Syrie for his invaluable service after all.

Icing fluttered off from Nyxa's shoulder and landed on the bookshelf where he proceeded to preen wings.

"Now where are Chao and Linny?" Huni murmured, realizing the two weren't on the first floor anymore.

Linny crawled over to the closet where his other stuff were and pointed at the handle. Huni didn't lock it, she didn't see a reason why after all.

chaoticdivinity
Chao scooped Linny back up into her arms before turning the handle, what seemed like ancient insticts bewaring her of the unknown that lay behind any closed, foreign, door, and thusly, to keep the young one close.
She gently pushed the door back and peered into the closet.

Huni Pi
There was nothing out of the ordinary about the closet, a few shirts and pants, and some scarves and that's all. The only things aside from the clothes were the bucket and rags. Linny excitedly gestured to the cleaning products. "Pweeee!!" he cheered.

chaoticdivinity
The poor, tired newly made godmother had no idea of what to make of this.
But whatever, if Linny was excited, then obviously the cleaning products were something to be excited about.
Chao giggled softly, "they're wonderful Linny," she said with a soft smile, giving the bucket a light pat of affection, just as she'd given Linneas' plush earlier. Afterwards she placed her cheek against the infants crest of hair, deciding that now was probably a good time to head home. "You can show me more about them tommarow, 'kay? Let's go find your mum."
She stepped back and shut the door, then headed downstaires.

Huni Pi
Linny wasn't quite finished in showing his things to Chao but he didn't make a fuss of it. He looked a little disappointed as they left the room though.

"There you two are." Huni declared, "Thanks so much for taking care of him, Chao." she smiled, taking Linneas back from her weary friend. "You look tired, maybe you should be getting some sleep?"

chaoticdivinity
A full fledged yawn poured from Chao's mouth at the tired comment.
"Yesh, sleep is probably the best thing right now," she said rubbing her eyes before smiling at Linny, noticing the still slightly dissapointed look. "I'll be back soon Linny, then you can show me everything you want." She gave the little boy a small hug then hugged Huni as wel, before turning to leave.
"G'night Linny, see you soon Huni." She paused before adding, "Be careful, okay?"

Huni Pi
"I will, and you be careful on your way home, y'hear?" Huni nodded to her friend. "Say bye bye to Aunty Chao, Linny."

"Chlaaa." Linneas babbled, trying his best to repeat the word Chao.

chaoticdivinity
The sheer cuteness of Linnaes' attempt at repeating her name had Chao enveoping her friend and godchild in another hug before heading back to the door.
"I'll be careful, promise. See you Huni and Linny. G'night!" she wrapped her scarf about her face and trotted back out into the winter wonderland, heading for home.

The Sprockets were excited, then again, they were always excited about something, whether it was Huni cleaning and buffing them up, just Linneas playing with them. Today, however, they were exceptionally hyper, and their high pitched squeaks and giggles made Linneas wonder.

His mother had left the door open, since he was still afraid of the dark. The shaft of light peering through the opening constantly filtered into his bedroom. And then, there was a shadow. At first he thought it was one of the sprockets that had escaped the Sprocket room. But the shape was different, somewhat.

The shadow stopped just at the cracks of the door and seemingly peered into his room. Linneas gave a little squeak of his own, not quite afraid but not quite certain he was safe. The door creaked open as a little figure rolled in. It stopped just short of his crib before hovering at eye level.

'Hi.' a feminine voice greeted.

'Hi.' Linneas responded, surprised that he understood what the creature was saying. 'Who you?' he asked.

'Dunno.' she responded, floating around the room as if inspecting it. A shallow basin caught her attention and she settled in it. 'Me like.'

'Mine.' Linneas frowned, it was his after all. Everything in the room was his, but he was the sort who didn't mind sharing. 'But, okay.'

'Thankies.' the cog bobbed.

Just then footsteps could be heard, and Huni's voice filtered in. "Linny? Linnykins, are you alright?" the red head entered, and she appeared to be holding a controller.

Instantly, the cog zipped from the basin and hovered around it, 'Here! Here!' she cried, moving from the controller to beside the basin.

Huni's eyes widened and Linneas couldn't quite make out what his mother was saying. All he understood was she was happy about something.

"Linneas, look! It's a Fandangle!" Huni squealed, pointing at the green cog. "So shiney, parang kumikinang na bituin*." she murmured in her native Tagalog tongue. "What say we call it Ning?"

Linneas clapped his hands, even though he didn't know what Huni was saying, he understood that the cog was going to stay with them. And he liked it.

Huni had no idea what she got herself into when she headed to the Legend HQ that day. She thought it was going to be a simple visit, a quick hi to those she had met, and then she'd leave when things got awkward. But today was special, today was different, today was the day Paestri arrived.

The red head could hardly believe it but she had walked by a bakery shop that she was sure wasn't there before. Feeling her stomach grumble, she decided to stop for a bite and as she walked in, she discovered that while the doors were unlocked, the bakery was actually closed. There was a fairly thick layer of dust on the counters, the tabletops and chairs. She was about to leave when she heard a noise coming from the kitchen. It sounded something like a large lump of dough landing on the floor.

Somehow this all seemed familiar, like the time Linneas had arrived. She laughed at the idea, imagine an infant appearing in a bakery of all places! But she thought what the hey, might as well, right? The red head pushed the doors open and saw a bundle lying just a few feet from where she stood. Huni approached it, not really sure what the expect, and when she pulled back the sheets, her jade eyes met a pair of pink orbs.

The orbs belonged to a face, a dark skinned little face, with hair that matched the hue of the eyes. It was a baby girl, yawning tiredly on the floor. She blinked a few times and then reached out to Huni with her little hands as if asking to be picked up.

"Hey there, cutie." Huni greeted softly, taking the infant into her arms. "Guess you were waiting for me, huh?" she smiled as she stroked the baby's cheeks. When the baby snuggled up against her, Huni took it as a yes. The red head went back to the Stationery Shop immediately to introduce her to the rest of the family.

"Linny, Linny! Come meet your new sister." Huni called out to her eldest child.

Linneas was in the kitchen, fixing himself a snack, he had been practicing with his mop earlier and was now replenishing his energy. Upon hearing his mother call, Linneas' first inteded to ignore her for a few minutes. But when he heard Huni mention the word "sister" the boy quirked a brow and quickly headed to the shop front.

He remembered his other sister Talim, and if this new sister was anything like the Roya, he was going to have a hard time. He was extremely relieved when he was informed Talim had 'gone' so to speak. The Roya had been dreamt to another dimension where another 'Huni' was going to take care of her but Linny didn't fully understand.

He stared up at his mother apprehensively as he approached them. "What's her name?" he asked.

Huni wasn't really sure about the baby's name, really. She saw nothing at the bakery that indicated her name, it wasn't like when Linny arrived with a Tome. But as Huni stared at the baby in her arms, she couldn't help but think of sweets and confections. With a smile, the red head knew what she was going to call the infant.

"Paestri." Huni replied, kneeling down to show her son what the newest addition looked like. "Would you like to hold her?"

Paestri yawned as she woke up from her nap, she felt exhausted, as if she hadn't slept in eons. But despite this, she opened her eyes to find two faces peering at her. She blinked and gurgled pleasantly at both of them, reaching out with her fingers. The older of the two was holding her, and she liked the softness she was feeling. The younger one seemed a little nervous to find she was awake, but that didn't bother Paestri. She heard them speak and felt herself being handed to the younger face.

This one wasn't as soft as the first one, but it smelled a clean, homey sort of smell that relaxed her. She yawned once more, and nuzzled against whoever it was holding her as she fell asleep again.

At his mother's suggestion, Linneas hesitantly took his new sister into his arms, half-expecting her to bite him just like Talim did. He was pleasantly surprised that Paestri not only did not bite him, but she even nuzzled him. At this action his heart melted as he fell in love with his adorable sister. He became even more determined to learn how to defend his family, since he was never going to let anything or anyone hurt his sister.

Huni was delighted that Linneas seemed to take a liking to Paestri, she was worried that he'd be jealous of his new sister or dislike her the way he did Talim. She was worrying for nothing it seemed and gently took Paestri back from Linneas. They went up to the spare bedroom where Huni found one of the archemeral footnotes was snoozing by the window. Apparently, Paestri already had a familiar waiting for her arrival.

The red head smiled at this and eased the infant into the crib. She hummed a soft lullaby to the sleeping baby before she quietly left the room.
