each shot should have about the caffine and sugar of a regular 12 oz can of mountian dew.

OK, so 1 shot = 1 can Mountain Dew...... Now Mountain Dew doesn't really get me going.... so start off at 3 shots and see how I go?? Or is that too much?
EDIT: OK, I just found out why it doesn't. Mountain Dew in Australia has NO caffeine.
I've just looked at some values and 1 Mountain Dew has 55mg of caffeine so 1 shot caffeine sludge has the same, 1 Espresso shot is 77mg, it usually takes two or three of them to get me going well, so about 154mg. So three shots of caffeine sludge will do me nicely

It takes 9 or 10 to get me going but i've been addicted since i was 6.
If you have no caffine in your base soda more caffine pills are probably a good idea.

OK.... more calculating needed.... Mountain Dew has 15mg/100ml of caffeine. so thats 300mg/2L. Each caffeine pill contains roughly 200mg per tablet, so 1.5-2 tablets extra should be enough (depending on the amount in the pill)

That looks right. A two liter of caffine sludge should contain about one metric arseload. this is about .84 english arseloads for those of you who still use the silly Imperial system.
