Kami when are people gonna learn. You know it's discrimination like this that causes war people! Well I don't have much to say seeing as Promising3Words took the words out of my mouth. And Brava to you for it. biggrin
But seriously, it's really sad when someone goes through a lot to gain respect just to lose it at the next mistake. Heaven knows I've gotten that plenty of times.
People really need to look at the mirror and do some Kiwarimi Jutsu -Substitution Jutsu for those who don't know that- just so they see how nasty they are towards others. Sometimes people get caught being a little discriminating but they should to to make it all turn out right in the end.
Like I said before, Promising3Words has a point and she looked into this more deeply than the I say, You say crap that we hear from bashers so props to her again.

I deal with these on a regular basis. Ive actually changed a few of their hating ways. Some of them. But there has been a few. It annoys me to no end. Seeing as she is my favorite character. As it was said above by I cant remember who, but the person made a VERY valid point. The fact that Sakura's abilities grow as her emotions do, is very feminine. If you look at it, Girls are geared towards emotions. Guys are geared towoards power. Not saying they arent emotional, but I know If I FEEL strongly enough for something, Im going to grow expensially to make sure I get it. And thats what Sakura did. She focused her mind and what she felt she wanted. And she wants Sasuke back. And she has always wanted to be stronger. Even in the Chuunin exams. She looked up to Naruto for being strong. Sasuke for being strong. She was going to drop the Chuunin exams for a little bit because she felt weak compared to everyone. And the fact that Tsunade took her under and helped her was amazing. I believe that the irony is that during the Chuunin exams, Iruka pointed out that Sakura's weak point was her Taijutsu, and now, after being with Tsunade she is an EXPERT at it. Quite Ironic.
The Shallow thing gets me. I never thought she was shallow. Not even during the Sasuke-kun times. She's smart. The smartest girl in her class. She may have ACTED shallow, to look like she didnt like Naruto and to concied herself to his liking. But everyone saw the Inner Sakura, and that is the true her. Which isnt Shallow. She is strong, and knows when to turn off the Sasuke drive for a little bit. Exspecially on a mission, where it counts. All Im saying is that she wasnt ever shallow, and probably will never be. In fact I see her and one of the most truthfull, smartest, down to earth characters on the show. But that is just my opinion.
And as for people hating her for her pink hair. -laughs- they only wish it. Thats all I can say. Thats them trying to find any reason WHAT SO EVER to hate her. And from what I have seen, and its one that Ive come across a few times, its because they [[The person that hates Sakura]] are too in love with A character coughcoughsasukecoughcough to even step back and look at what a good character she is. I cant say thats everyone's reason for hating her for her hair, but 90 percent of the time. Thats the reason that I have come across.
Her attitude. -laughs again- most girls at that. I cant say that I particuarly like Hinata for example, for her shyness, but thats just one thing. I think she is strong, and a dynamic character. Like Sakura. So if Baffles me to see people hate Sakura and not Hinata or TenTen. Attitude is something that can change. Sakura, as seen, and as I predicted is a dynamic character and I love Kishi for that.
But the one thing that has occured to me in the last couple of months is that, people dont actually think, or whats the word that im looking for...well, ah comprehend...12 years old. At 12 I had the biggest crush on this one guy. I mean, I was like, In love with him. And my first love, I look back now, and god was I annoying. And thats what girls do for love. And as I am able to look back now. I am mature and can admit how annoying I was. As Sakura has matured post time skip. And thats what I love about Kishi, He becomes that character to add a human touch to each of them. A kind of "what would I do in that situation". Which is perfect for Sakura.
She has to be my favorite character just because I can relate to her and her feelings towards all of that. Not the whole being in love with a guy that wants to kill someone. Though, I did date someone kind of like that. Sad, I must admit. And again, Sakura tends to his needs because she knows what he went through and wants to help him. And if thats annoying. Then Im a lost cause to this Sakura movement.
So Im going to stop my incredibly long rant, because believe me when I say...There is more...And in fear that Im going to start repeating others, and maybe even myself, for all of you. I shall stop. But think about it. I place my opinion on her as a POV thing. Like Sasuke, Like Naruto. Like Anti-Sakura-ers should. But hey what do I know. -shrugs-

Yeah, I've had to defend Sakura against bashers who say "Sakura can't be weak and annoying - she's a ninja for crying out loud! She shouldn't be doing so-and-so in this situation, she should act more like a kunoichi!"
HEL~LO! She DOES act like a kunoichi. She uses her ninja skills (underdeveloped though they might have been in part 1, 'cept for the natural chakra control) to take advantage of every situation. Now some basher comes in and says she's not allowed to cry or to laugh because she is supposedly a hardened-by-battle type of ninja.
That's not the point of her character, however. She's not "hardened-by-battle", nor has she had any experience of great loss until Sasuke left. She was made out to be the most normal one out of all of them - she experienced real human hurts of being bullied, and she's the closest in personality to our contemporary nature. Kishi wrote her out to be incredibly naive about the truths about the ninja world because her growth focuses on how she needs to grow to become the emotional foundation of the team.
In my opinion, she's the most human out of all of them because she is weak in comparison to her teammates. She's the closest to the normal human context, and that's what makes her character stand out. No one should hate her for that.

*coughs* Anyway. I hate Sakura-bashing as well. She's a well-developed character who has changed a lot from the beginning of the series(I liked her since the beginning, anyway though XD). It's kind of hard for me to think of good things to say, since after reading this topic, I see that you guys have pretty much said it all. >>;;
But even though all Sakura bashing annoys me, one thing that really bugs me is when people say that she's "stupid". What the hell, how many episodes have they seen/chapters have they read? Zero? I mean, she's the smartest on Team 7 and probably the only one in the first part of the Chuunin exam that actually knew all the answers without having to cheat.
I've defended her many times against those stupid mindless bashers. I even recall coming across someone comparing her to some other character from a different series, and one of the things they had to say about Sakura is that she was a "whore". That got me REALLY upset. They obviously must still be in kindergarten and not know what a whore is, because Sakura is most definately NOT one. A whore is someone who waits around in the streets looking for something to sleep with.
Honestly, it bugs me when people bash good characters like that.

Whore? Thats funny. Really, Im laughing histarically, because well you see. Sakura has only LOVED and showed any interest towards what so ever, is Sasuke. I mean, Naruto is like Family to her. So a whore is something that is almost as far out there as...Well, Them staging the moon landing.
But all in all, bashers want a fight. It's not smart to come knocking on my door. Or you get it. Lolx.

I think some people think she's a whore because of the stupid reason she's paired with various males from Naruto in different fanfics. In one fic, she could be paired to just about every guy in the series. That's why I hate anyone/Saku. Because that's part of the reason why she's considered a whore by some.
But then again, it's a stupid reason to hate someone - just because she's paired to a lot of guys in a FANfic. Hello - FANfic, meaning it's not CANON? Meaning it's FANmade? Meaning nothing like that can EVER happen in canon unless Kishi decides to rename the anime "Sakura" and make it all shojo-ish and give Sakura a male harem?

Anyways, is it okay to run a random person out of their own thread they started if they reidiculed one of your fave characters say oh.. Sakura? He's not intellignet, doesn't give strong points.... -sighs- If anybody was a slut in the show out of the kunochi it would most likely be Ino-pig Ino, but even she doesn't act like it.Where are these people getting whore from?It's a show for thirteen year olds (At the youngest.) and though there is mild cussing I don't think Kishi-sensei would introduce such a thing as slutry-ness to us.People calling Sakura a whore are blind. You don't see her hitting on every shinobi that passes her by, now do you?Otherwise she would've already dated Lee -shudders- and Naruto o.O by now. But she HASN'T because she isn't a slut,a whore, a skank, how ever you want to put it.She will only settle for Sasuke.

Man how glad I am to see a forum like this! The point is, those people are just n00bs who hate her because they have nothing better to do. Pointless n00bs with no life. So it would be really stupid to believe what they say. I want to walk up to an Anti-Sakura-er and strangle them saying, "Okay! we get it! You don't like Sakura! Can you please get on with your life and go home like everyone else please!?"
