I love all the ff7 characters (Cid in particular) Its just such a random assortment like you have the ex member of soldier the,Karate master bartender, The terrorist group leader with a gun arm, The flower girl with the blood from an ancient civilization, The talking dog, The biogenetically altered guy whos been in a coffin for years, The cat who sits on toppa a massive moogle, The guy who wanted to follow his dreams but was foiled bye shinra and became a regular drunk who cusses up a storm, The ninja theif who so good she can take your money while your in the menu, and the ultimate villian consumed by hatred and insanity. Other than just having like fighter mage etc you have a huge variety its great.
